An earthquake is what happens

There was an earthquake in Taiwan in 1999. Thousands of people lost their lives in the earthquake.

1999年台湾9·21大地震
1999年9月21日凌晨1时47分，台湾省南投县集集镇发生里氏7.6级大地震，震源深度10公里左右，重灾区在日月潭地区。当时大多数人都在睡梦中，据报道在台北市人口密集地区有人员伤亡、建筑物倒塌和其他损坏情况。此次地震共造成1,700多人死亡，8,700多人受伤，约12,000座建筑物遭到破坏，约100,000人无家可归。这是台湾在20世纪最严重的一次地震。
