阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节
(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
People
tend
to
become
more
personal
and
hide
less
of
themselves
when
using
email.
Researchers
from
Open
University
in
Britain
have
found
in
a
recent
study
that
there
are
good
reasons
for
this.
The
team
of
researchers
asked
83
pairs
of
students,
all
strangers
to
each
other,
to
solve
a
problem.
They
had
to
discuss
this
question:
If
only
five
people
in
the
world
could
be
saved
from
a
world
disaster,
who
should
they
be?
The
pairs
of
students
had
to
talk
over
the
problem
either
face
to
face
or
by
computers.
Dr.
Johnson
said,
“They
told
their
partners
four
times
as
much
about
themselves
when
they
talked
over
the
Internet
as
when
they
talked
face
to
face.
When
the
computers
were
fitted
with
cameras
so
that
students
could
see
each
other,
this
limited
the
personal
side
of
the
conversation.”
Generally
the
information
was
not
extremely
personal.
It
was
mainly
about
things
such
as
where
they
went
to
school,
or
where
they
used
to
live.
But
some
students
discussed
their
love
stories,
and
personal
childhood
experiences.
Dr
Johnson
believes
that
emailing
encourages
people
to
focus
on
themselves.
And
when
they
do
this,
they
become
more
open,
especially
if
there
are
no
cameras.
“If
you
cannot
see
the
other
person,
it
becomes
easier
to
talk
about
yourself.
This
is
because
you
are
not
thinking
what
the
other
person
is
thinking
of
you.
So
emailing
has
become
the
modern
way
of
talking,”
said
Dr.
Johnson.
However,
this
style
of
talking
is
not
entirely
new.
“In
the
19th
century
people
started
to
use
the
‘telegraph’
to
communicate.
Now
the
same
kind
of
thing
has
happened
and
people
ended
up
speaking
more
freely.”
Dr.
Johnson
thinks
that
emailers
need
to
know
about
these
effects
of
emailing,
especially
when
they
start
work
in
a
company.

If
you
don’t
know
about
it,
you
could
find
yourself
saying
more
about
yourself
than
you
wanted
to.”

D.how
to
discuss
and
solve
a
problem
22.The
reason
that
some
couples
talked
freely
about
themselves
is
that
_______.
A.they
didn’t
talk
about
very
personal
things
B.they
couldn’t
see
each
other
C.the
cameras
on
the

how

B
After
I
made
it
to
the
city
center,
I
started
to
feel
it
might
be
easy
for
a
foreigner
to
deal
with
the
great
size
of
Beijing.
With
growing
confidence,
I
decided
to
take
the
subway
to
the
hotel,
not
realizing
that
the
network
didn’t
go
that
far.
Impressed
with
the
cleanliness
of
the
station,
I
bought
a
ticket
and
boarded
the
first
train
that
came
along.
After
a
few
minutes
I
asked
in
English
of
course
a
young
man
seated
next
to
me
where
I
should
get
off
closest
to
the
Friendship
Hotel.
Wearing
a
smart
business
suit
and
tie,
he
would
surely
speak
English,
wouldn’t
he?
Unfortunately,
he
couldn’t
undersold
me
but
seemed
very
friendly.
I
showed
him
the
room
card
with
all
the
information
of
the
Friendship
Hotel
in
Chinese
characters
(汉字).
He
looked
at
it,
and
then
his
eyes
moved
quickly
to
the
carriage
(车厢)
subway
map.
Next,
he
raised
three
fingers
of
his
right
hand.
In
Australia,
raising
fingers
at
someone
is
not
usually
nice,
but
this
man
wasn’t
smiling.
At
the
next
station
he
showed
me
two
fingers.
Now
in
Australia,
that’s
really
rude,
but
I
got
the
message.
When
we
stopped
at
the
third
station,
he
didn’t
just
point
to
the
door,
but
got
up,
took
me
out
of
the
train,
and
led
me
to
the
top
of
the
stairs,
and
out
onto
the
street.
Then
he
stopped
a
taxi
and
told
the
driver
where
to
take
me.
All
this
came
from
a
man
who
couldn’t
speak
my
language,
and
I
couldn’t
speak
his.
I
was
now
speechless,
especially
when
he
refused
my
offer
of
money.
I
felt
a
little
embarrassed
having
even
thought
he
would
accept
a
tip.
This
experience
made
it
clear
I
had
to
learn
some
Chinese
quickly
or
my
adventures
might
start
turning
into
bad
luck.
25.The

to
take
the
subway
because

his
ability
to
deal
with
the
trip
B.
the
network
covered
most
of
the
stops
C.
he
lived
near
the
city
center
D.
he
had
a
good
impression
of
its
cleanliness
26.Having
been
shown
the
room
card,
the
young
man
________.
A.
still
remained
puzzled
B.
understood

well
C.
answered
the
author
directly
D.
pointed
at
the
subway
map
27.The
author’s
purpose
of
writing
this
passage
is
mainly
to
________.
A.
prove
the
importance
of
being
careful
B.
appreciate
the
kindness
of
the
young
man
C.
complain
some
cultural

Working
up
a
credit
score
for
Walter
Cavanagh
has
got
to
be
a
mathematical
nightmare

the
man
has
nearly
1,500
valid
credit
cards
to
his
name
and
holds
the
Guinness
Record
for
the
most
credit
cards.
Mr.
Plastic
Fantastic

a
title
given
to
him
by
Guinness
World
Records

is
also
the
proud
owner
of
the
world's
longest
wallet,
which
can
hold
about
800
cards.
But
he
uses
it
only
to
carry
a
few
cards,
while
the
rest
are
safely
kept
in
bank
safedeposit
boxes.
Cavanagh
started
collecting
credit
cards
in
the
late
1960s.
"One
of
my
best
friends
and
I
made
a
silly
bet:
the
guy
who
could
collect
the
most
credit
cards
by
the
end
of
the
year
would
win
dinner,"
he
said.
"
I
got
143
cards
by
the
end
of
the
year,
and
my
friend
gathered
138."
After
winning
that
bet,
Cavanagh
decided
to
simply
keep
going
with
his
unusual
collection.
He
got
credit
cards
from
gas
stations,
airlines,
bars,
and
even
ice
cream
stores.
If
there's
one
card
missing
from
Cavanagh's
collection,
it's
that
from
the
Newberry
Company.
They
repulsed
his
application
for
a
card
in
the
early
1970s,
even
though
he'd
collected
over
100
by
then.
They
said
he
had
too
much
credit.
Therefore,
so
far
he
hasn't
had
a
Newberry
card
in
his
collection.
Cavanagh
hasn't
stopped
applying
for
new
cards

he's
held
the
Guinness
Record
since
1971
and
has
no
intention
of
letting
go
of
it.
He
copies
whole
pages
from
a
U.S.
directory
of
businesses
and
keeps
sending
applications.
If
he
receives
a
rejection,
he
writes
back
to
the
company
explaining
his
goal
and
ambition.
But
he
doesn't
count
useless
cards
in
his
total
collection.
Thanks
to
all
the
cards
to
his
name,
Cavanagh
has
access
to
about
$1.7
million
at
any
moment.
Despite
this
privilege,
he
has
managed
to
maintain
an
excellent
credit
score.
The
72﹣year﹣old
retired
financial
planner
and
credit
expert
has
only
one
piece
of
advice
to
share:
"Never
use
a
card
to
buy
anything
you
can't
pay
off
in
a
couple
of
months.
If
you
don't
have
the
discipline,
you
shouldn't
have
the
cards."

Sort
trash,
save
Earth
You
might
not
think
much
about
where
your
garbage
goes.
But
now
you
might
want
to
know.
On
July
1,
Shanghai
introduced
a
new
garbage-sorting
policy
(垃圾分类政策).
People
there
need
to
put
different
kinds
of
garbage
into
different
bins.
Other
cities
in
China
will
do
the
same
soon.
Why
is
garbage
sorting
a
big
problem?
It’s
because
there
is
too
much
garbage
these
days.
It
is
bad
for
our
soil,
air
and
water.
Actually
we
can
make
use
of
some
garbage
again.
And
first,
we
need
to
sort
our
garbage.
For
example,
if
you
put
an
old
battery
into
the
“harmful
waste”
bin,
people
can
use
it
to
make
new
batteries.
But
if
you
don’t,
the
battery
will
end
up
somewhere
else.
Then,
it
will
pollute
the
environment.
Can’t
factories
sort
garbage
for
us?
Yes,
they
can.
But
it
takes
many
workers
to
do
this
and
costs
lots
of
money.
If
we
all
sort
our
own
garbage,
things
will
become
much
easier.
Garbage

the
world
?
Germany:
There
are
big
machines
in
supermarkets.
You
can
put
bottles
in
the
machines
and
get
money
back.
You
can
get
one
to
two
yuan
per
bottle.
People
like
this
because
they
can
get
money
and
protect
the
environment
at
the
same
time.
?
Japan:
A
trash
truck
comes
to
people’s
doors
to
pick
up
their
garbage.
It
plays
music
when
it’s
coming.
There
are
eight
or
more
kinds
of
garbage.
If
you
sort
any
of
them
wrong,
you
will
get
a
notice
on
your
door.
?
Indonesia:
People
can
take
buses
for
free
if
they
give
plastic
bottles
to
bus
stations.
An
hour-long
bus
ride
costs
three
large
bottles,
five
medium
bottles
or
10
plastic
cups.
But
the
bottles
must
be
clean.
?
Shanghai:
Four
kinds
of
garbage
in
Shanghai
Recyclable
garbage
includes
paper,
books,
boxes,
newspapers,
and
glass
bottles.
Harmful
garbage
includes
lamps,
batteries,
nail
polish
(指甲油
),
and
other
things
with
harmful
chemicals.
Wet
garbage
usually
comes
from
the
kitchen,
such
as
food,
vegetables,
flowers,
leaves
and
eggshells.
Dry
garbage
is
anything
you
cannot
put
into
the
other
three
bins.
It
includes
pens,
toilet
paper,
tape,
hair,
and
towels.
32.What
can
we
learn
from
Paragraph
1?
A.Many
other
cities
in
China
have
garbage-sorting
policies.
B.Many
people
don’t
like
Shanghai’s
garbage-sorting
policy.
C.Shanghai
is
the
first
city
in
China
to
make
a
garbage-sorting
policy.
D.China
is
the
first
country
in
the
world
to
make
a
garbage-sorting
policy.
33.With
the
battery
example,
the
writer
tries
to
tell
us
.
A.how
to
sort
our
garbage
B.the
importance
of
sorting
our
garbage
C.what
harmful
waste
is
D.the
difficulty
of
sorting
our
garbage
34.Why
can’t
we
ask
factories
to
sort
garbage?
A.Because
we
don’t
have
this
kind
of
factory.
B.Because
factories
ask
for
too
much
money.
C.Because
it
takes
too
many
workers
to
do
it.
D.Because
not
all
garbage
can
go
to
factories.
35.In
which
country
can
people
take
buses
for
free
if
they
give
plastic
bottles
to
bus
stations?
A.Germany.
B.Indonesia.
C.Japan.

根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Everyone
wants
to
be
happy.
You
see
people
who
are
smiling
and
laughing,
and
you
want
to
be
like
them.36.
However,
there
are
also
bad
days.
Here
are
three
ways
to
make
you
happier
every
day.
Smile
often.
Research
has
shown
that
the
facial
expression
you
wear
influences
your
state
of
mind.37.
Wearing
a
pleasant
expression
for
a
long
period
of
time
will
slowly
improve
your
feelings
and
help
you
have
a
happier
day.
38.
The
more
you
complain,
the
more
annoyed(恼怒的)
you
become.
If
all
you
notice
or
talk
about
during
the
day
are
the
things
that
annoy
you,
it
is
no
surprise
that
you
are
unhappy.
To
truly
increase
your
long-term
happiness,
don’t
complain
any
longer.39.
Practice
thankfulness.
Thankfulness
has
been
shown
to
be
the
last
ticket
to
a
happy
life.
The
more
you
practice
thankfulness,
the
more
you
will
find
things
to
be
grateful
for
in
your
life.40.
Even
something
as
simple
as
a
safe
place
to
sleep
or
food
to
eat
is
worth
being
thankful
for
because
not
everyone
is
fortunate
enough
to
have
those
necessities.
A.
Try
your
best
to
be
healthy.
B.
You
will
slowly
stop
paying
much
attention
to
what
worries
you.
C.
Have
an
entire
day
without
complaining
even
once
and
see
how
you
feel.
D.
Stop
complaining.
E.
There
are
good
days
filled
with
sunshine
and
smiles.
F.
If
you
try
to
smile,
you
are
more
likely
to
be
happy.
G.
This
then
leads
you
to
realize
how
much
goodness
is
in
your
life.

Dear
Simon,
I
am
glad
to
learn
that
you
will
visit
China
this
summer.
You
want
to
visit
just
a
few
beautiful
cities
in
China.
I
suggest
you
should
travel
to
Beijing
and
Nanjing,
because
these
two
cities
have
well
preserved
traditional
Chinese
culture
and
have
numerous
places
of
interest.
Beijing
is
now
the
capital
of
China,
which
lies
in
North
China,
and
Nanjing,
a
large
city
on
the
Yangtze
River
in
South
China,
used
to
be
where
quite
a
few
dynasties
founded
their
capital.
I
believe
you
will
enjoy
these
two
ancient
and
modern
cities.
If
time
permits,
you
can
as
well
visit
another
modern
large
city
Shanghai,
which
is
very
near
Nanjing.
Hoping
to
hear
from
you
soon.
Yours,
Li
Hua
