2. use to 的用法
use to 过去常常, 后接动词原形。我 们用一般过去时或 used to 来表示过去的习惯。用一般过去时时要指出时间，但用 used to 就可以不需要，例如：
I collected stamps when I was a child.
I used to collect stamps (when I was a child).
用 used to 是把现在和过去形成对照，可以用以下表达方式：
but now …，but not any more, but not any longer
I used to watch TV or chat with my grandmother, but now I have to study.
I used to eat a large breakfast, but I don’t any longer.
3. be used to 习惯于；后接名词、代词或动名词。
He is used to hard work. 他习惯于艰苦的工作。
He is used to driving in all kinds of weather.
他习惯于在各种天气里驾车。
4. be afraid of + 动名词或动名词 + 名词/代词， 这里动名词常常表示主语担心发生的事情。 这些常常是无意发生的动作。
She didn’t tell him because she was afraid of upsetting him.
她没有告诉他，因为害怕他不安。
5. be afraid + 不定式，表示主语非常害怕，以至不敢采取某一动作。这些通常是有意让发生的动作。
He was afraid to jump.
