Part 1 Introduction
Teaching time :
Teaching aims :
1. Let the students catch some words related to healthy and unhealthy
2. Make the students express their healthy state using the new words
3. Improve the students’ resolving power on the bad or good habits and customs
Teaching important points :
Help them master some important words, phrases and some proverb
Teaching difficult points
Help them express their present situation of healthy
Teaching procedures
Step 1 lead-in
T: Now, everyone we have finished Book 1. Could you tell me some words or phrase connected with unhealth Such as: 生病、发烧、感冒、and so on
Ss: get/fall ill, feel sick, have a temperature, fever, get/have/catch a cold and so on
T: Yes, well done. You will be in terrible pain when you have these problems. S0 to keep healthy is very important, we should develop a good habit of life style. “You are what you eat”, so pay more attention to your eating. Now work in pairs.
Step 2 Students’ Activities
a. Work in pairs
Ask some students to answer the same question integrally without “no” or “yes” . such as :Do you often eat fish
Do you often eat vegetables
Do you often catch a cold
How much exercise do you take a week
b. Let students make sentences just like the teacher’s to ask each other with the learning words.
b. Discuss in groups
To discuss their likes or dislikes and then ask one students to express his/her partners’ health. such as:
Liao Changqin likes chocolate, but she rarely gets toothache. She does excise very often, she doesn’t get flu.
Step3 Learn the new words and catch the definitions
a. Ask some students to read the English Proverbs aloud.
b. Speak out some Chinese proverbs(connect with health) and then translate into English.
c. Collect the proverbs and then translate into English.
Step4 Revision
1. Revise which words can be used to express the illness
2. Revise some common proverbs
Step 5 Summary and homework
In this period we talk about the healthy habits, and how to express the healthy situations. Let the students to know some proverbs about the health. So your homework is to find some Chinese proverbs and write a short passage about your health habits using the words learned today.

1.Get the students to understand the texts well
2.Get the students to know the importance of the healthy habits.
3.Help the students to improve their reading ability

Help them retell the passage on their own

Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead in
Show the students some pictures on the screen
Picture1:A boy is playing football in the rain
Picture2: The boy is in the hospital
Picture3: The boy is eating some meat and vegetables
Picture4: The boy is doing exercises
Questions: What’s wrong with the boy /Does he have a good diet and why /Is he healthy and how does he keep fit
According to the pictures, we can get some information about how to keep fit. And also, all that are showed in these pictures are connected with reading
Step 2 Students’ Activities
1.Make a survey of the students by their own and then make a fame about the situation.
a. Do you sometimes get colds and flu
b. Do you eat at least three portions of fruit and vegetables a day
c. Do you eat fish once a week or more
d. Do you take at least two hours’ exercise a week
e. Do you eat much fat, for example, fatty meat
2.Learn some new words of the passage.
Step 3 Reading

Read the text quickly and try to find the answer to these questions:

Work in pairs
Ask them to listen & read following the medio in a low voice. Then finish the exercises.

Step 4 Retell the story
Show some pictures related to their story and some key words to help them.(Key words:head towards, play football in the rain, catch a cold, get ill, make sure, have a sweet tooth, keep fit, take exercises, be crazy about, feed)
Give them five minutes to prepare for it.
Ask the students in each group to retell the story according to the pictures.
Step 5 Discussion

1. Let students know the grammatical rule the nouns used as verbs and the future tense
2. Help them master the grammar points correctly

2.How to use the future tense with will/be going to

Step1. Presentation

Work in pairs
Step2. Discussion
1.Discuss the above sentences with their partners and find the general idea about that nouns are used as verbs by themselves, then write down some nouns as verbs.
2.Each group should ask one students to present their ideas and some nouns which can be used as verbs
Step3. Coversation
a .常用的转化为动词的名词有:
head, eye, name, paper, book, air, voice, coat, dress, diet, skin, face, knife, nurse, house, mother, brother, finger and so on.
b .有些动词也可以转化成名词:
love, doubt, laugh, walk, answer, change, jump, help, look, catch, cheat, wrap, throw, turn, guess, feel, try, stop, break, increase, record, estimate.
c.名词和动词在转化时,有时不改变意思,有时意思也相应地变化(需注意)
eye, n眼睛,v,注释,端详。Ship n.船,v,用船装
picture n 绘画 照片,v, 用图表示,描述。
d.有些名词和动词在转化时会发生改变或词尾变化

Grammar2 The future simple tense
Step1. Presentation
1.Look at the following sentences and phrases.
Can you lie down, please, and I’ll examine you
I’ll write you a prescription.
My wife’s going to visit her this afternoon.
My wife’s going to pick me up in a quarter of an hour.
And I’ll ring the hospital.

Step2. Discussion
1.Discuss the above sentences with their partners and find the general idea about that the future simple tense by themselves, then write down some grammatical rules and the difference of will and be going to
2..Each group should ask one students to present their ideas on the future tense and the certain rules some time we should abide by
3. And ask students to complete the sentences with will or be going to.
You use __________when the speaker decides to do something as he speaks.
You use __________ when someone has decided to do something before.
Step3. The future simple tense
1. Help students draw conclusion of the use of the future tense and tell will by be going to
一般将来时表示将要发生的动作或存在的状态 “will/ be(am,is are) going to + 动原”

A. 在下列情况下用will
1).根据说话者的见解和观点对未来作出预言时
I think Smiley will make a good footballer.
Smith will beat Patterson with a knock-out in the second round.
2).在说话时突然做出的决定时,一般用will的缩写形式’ll
I’m tired. I think I’ll go to bed.
— Come to supper.
— OK, thanks. I’ll bring a bottle.
3).表示意图、提议、许诺、自愿做某事或坚持做某事时
—There’s the door-bell. — I’ll go.
I will stop smoking— I really will!
4).表示请求和邀请时

5).表示命令或威胁时
You will start work at six o’clock.
I’ll bit you if you do that again.
6).表示习惯和规律时
She will greet me when she meets me.

B.在下列情况下用be going to
1).根据现在所见,预计不久肯定会发生的事情时
Look!—it’s going to rain!
The car is going to turn over.
2).谈及打算或事先决定了的事情时
What are you going to be when you grow up

pay for 由…支付 the health care system 医疗保险
be owned by 由…拥有 put…into 使…放进,使进入
B. the difference of pay spend cost 与take
pay 表示“付款,支付,酬谢”等,常与for搭配,主语为人。
Spend表示“花钱”,与on搭配;表示“时间”与in搭配,以人作主语。
Cost 的主语通常是物,表示某物花费了某人钱和精力。

C. Difficult sentences
a. Until recently this system was very successful but recently there have been problems.
这种制度一直很成功,但最近出了点问题。
until和 till一般情况下没有区别,可以互换,是在肯定句中,而在否定句中多使用until
until 所引导的时间状语(从句)放在句首时,until不宜用till互换。
Until the graduated from college, he lived with his parents.
③ 用强调句型It is/was…that来强调until/till引导的时间状语时,如果原句是肯定句,则直接把until/till状语放在It is/was…that之间即可。如果原句是否定句,则需要把not提出来放在until/till之前,把主句变为肯定句放在that之后。
It was until/till he graduated from college that he lived with his parents. 直到大学毕业,他才和父母住在一块儿。
It was not until midnight that he went back home after the experiment. (句型It was not until…that…)
b. This is because the government has not put enough money into the health service.
这是因为政府在公共医疗服务方面没有投入足够的资金。
