和某人一起去

2. wake up
叫醒
There won’t be anybody to wake you up in the morning.
每天早晨不会有人叫醒你。
wake在这里用作及物动词。
Try not to wake the baby up.
wake还有不及物动词的用法，表示“醒来”
What time do you usually wake (up) in the morning?
翻译句子：
我今天早晨起得很早。
答案：I woke up very early this morning.
思路分析：注意这里是wake作为不及物动词的用法。
3. advise somebody to do something
建议某人做某事
We advise all passengers for Train T27 to Lhasa to go immediately to Platform 2.
我们建议乘坐T27次列车前往拉萨的旅客马上到第二站台。
不定式作宾语补足语的情况，在使用过程中应该注意及时总结。
ask, tell, want, would like, invite, allow, encourage, warn这些词在初中比较常见。
advise是动词，名词形式是advice，是不可数名词，几条建议用some pieces of advice表示。
用括号中所给动词的适当形式填空：

4. be about to
即将
Your train is about to leave.
你们的列车马上就要出发了。
be about to do sth.表示“即将做某件事情”。
Their teacher came into the classroom when they were about to leave.
be able to do sth. 和这个词组长相类似，但表达的却是“能够做某事”。
翻译句子：
①你也很快就能够完成这项任务的。
②他们马上就要毕业了。
答案：①You will be able to finish this task soon.
②They are about to graduate.
思路分析：注意二者的区分。
5. a couple of
几个
See you in a couple of weeks!
几周后见！
我们已经学到了不少，表示“一定数量”的词组，如：
a number of 后接可数名词复数，相当于many；
a lot of和lots of可接可数及不可数名词，表示“大量、许多”。
翻译句子：
①我们学校有很多学生。
②我们学校学生数量是3000人。
答案：①There are a number of / lots of / a lot of / many students in our class.
②The number of the students in our school is 3000.
思路分析：注意a number of和the number of的区分。
6. turn off
关闭
Turn off the TV.
关电视。
turn off一般表示关电器，这一点要和close以及shut区分开。
Don’t forget to turn off the lights when you leave.
turn off表示关电器，turn on则表示开电器，而turn up和turn down则分别表示开大和关小。

7. be worried about
担心
Although my parents were very worried about leaving me, they had to go away on business for a few days.

worry的词性问题
作为动词使用，可以有词组worry about，这时要注意它的时态问题。
She often worries about us.
She worried about us when we were small children.
She is worrying about us now.
worried既可以理解为worry的过去式或过去分词，也可以理解为形容词。

It was a sunny winter day. I had gone down the tower when a blind man came toward me. He kept close to the wall, touching it lightly with his arm. I stood still and looked at him walking toward the tower.
“What does a blind man want to climb up the tower for?” I wondered, “Not the view (景色) certainly, perhaps he wants to jump.” Thinking of this terrible reason, I thought I should follow him.
He went up slowly and stopped from time to time. I followed him a few steps behind. When he got to the first corner of the bell tower, I came close to him. “Excuse me,” I said as politely as I could, “but I wonder why you came up.”
“You’d never guess.” he said.
“Not the view or the fresh air on this winter day?”
“No.” he said.
“Tell me, then.”
He smiled, “Perhaps climbing up the tower. You have noticed—and yet, not being blind, perhaps you won’t—how the sun shines into the tower through the windows here and there, so that one can feel the cool steps suddenly become quite warm, even in winter. But behind the wall there is shade (阴影). There is no place so good as this for feeling the difference between light and darkness. Though I’m blind, I also want to feel the happiness brought by the sunlight. In fact, it isn’t my first time to be here.” He said and seemed as pleased as a child.
I had never thought that even a blind man could have his way to enjoy the beautiful life. But we often paid no attention to its value because we never lost it.

Jolanda Maas, a leader of a research at the Nivel Institute in Utrecht, has reported the result of the study in the magazine BiolMed Central Public Health. It says that people who live closest to green areas in the countryside walk and cycle less often for shorter time than other people.
“We found that there was either no relationship or only a small one between green space and physical activity,” said Maas. “People with more green space walk and cycle less often in their spare time.”
People with 20% of green space walked around 250 minutes each week during their spare time compared to 180 minutes for those with 80% of green space.
“This may be because people in the countryside need to use their cars more to get to places such as shops, schools and the doctor’s office.” Maas said.
Living near green space also makes no difference in whether people met NHR (全民健身标准) to get 30 minutes of exercise daily, according to a survey (调查) of 5,000 people across the Netherlands (荷兰).
“The study shows when you just look at how much green space people have, it is not true people are just more physically active,” Maas said. “This study shows you don’t really need green space.”
