【短语学习】
1. not only…but also… 不但……而且……
用于连接两个表示并列关系的成分，着重强调后者，其意为“不仅……而且……”；其中的also有时可以省略。
She not only plays well, but also writes music.
她不仅很会演奏，而且还会作曲。
He works not only on weekdays, but on Sundays as well.
他不仅平时工作，星期日也工作。
(1) 若not only ...but also...连接两个成分作主语，其谓语通常与靠近的主语保持一致。
Not only you but also he has to leave. 不只是你，他也得离开。
(2) 若连接两个句子，not only后面的句子要用倒装。
Not only did he speak more correctly, but he spoke more easily. 他不仅说得更正确，而且讲得更不费劲了。
Not only he but also I from Beijing.

2. look forward to sth. 期待着某事
(1) look forward to sth.期待着某事。
I’m looking forward to your reply.我期待着你的回复。
The students are looking forward to the summer vacation. 学生们正期待着暑假的到来。
(2) look forward to doing sth.期待着做某事。
He was looking forward to working with the new manager.他很期待和新经理一起工作。

3. pick up 拾起，捡起
(1) pick up意为“拾起，捡起”，宾语为代词时，必须把代词放在pick和up的中间；若宾语为名词，可以放在pick和up的中间，也可以放在up的后面。
The phone rang and I picked it up.电话响了，我去接了。
(2) pick up还可以意为“开车接，取”
I’ll pick you up at your home tomorrow. 明天我会开车到你家接你。

4. take off 起飞；脱去；去掉
(1) （指飞机等）起飞
The plane took off despite the fog. 尽管有雾, 飞机仍照常起飞.
(2) 匆忙离去; 突然离去
He took off for the station at a run. 他匆忙向车站跑去.
When he saw the police coming, he took off in the opposite direction. 他一看见警察来了, 转身就溜了。
(3) take （从身上）除掉, 脱下（衣物等）
It’s hot outside, please take off your coat. 外面很热，脱下你的大衣吧。
(4) take sth. off (sth.) 使某物离开或脱离（其一表面或边缘）
Would you mind taking your foot off my shoe? 你踩着我的鞋了，请你把脚抬一下行吗?
