1.Michael, Could you please do me a favor
(1)Could you please do me a favor = Could you help me = Could you give me a hand 你能帮我吗?do sb. a favor帮某人忙,相当于help sb.或give sb. a hand。(2) ask sb. a favor请某人帮忙 (3)Could you please… 相当于Would you please… 通常用Sure /Certainly /Of course做肯定回答。
2. But one of my teammates fell ill.
(1)one of + 名词复数 表示 “……其中之一”, 主语是one,表单数.
(2) ill 与 sick 都表示 “生病的”, ill只能作表语而sick既可作表语也可作定语. 如: The man is ill/sick. 那个男人病了. (作表语)
He is a sick man. 他是个病人. (作定语)
fall ill意思为“得病,生病”强调的是动作,be ill意思为“有病的,得病的”强调的是状态,feel ill意思为“感觉不舒服”强调的是身体感受
3. Would you mind……?
  (1)Would you mind teaching me = Would you please teach me 你教我好吗?Would you mind (not) doing sth 表示 “(不)做某事介意/好吗 ”
Would/Do you mind …?你介意…吗?/请你…好吗?
  Would/Do you mind +doing…?用来客气地提出请求
  Would/Do you mind not doing…你不做…行吗?
  Would/Do you mind+if +从句?如果…你介意吗?
  Would/Do you mind giving me a glass of water 请你给我一杯水好吗?
  Would/Do you mind not smoking 你别抽烟好吗?
  Do you mind if I smoke 你意我抽烟吗?
  (2)回答带有mind的问句时要注意yes或no都是针对mind(介意,在乎)选用的。表示“介意,在乎”时,用yes,后面跟句子,意识是“不让对方做某事”;表示“不介意,不在乎”时选用no,后面跟句子,意思是“允许对方做某事”
  —Would/Do you mind helping me with the heavy box?你介意帮我搬这个重箱子吗
  —No,not at all/Certainly not/Of course not.不介意,当然可以。
  或者
  —I’m sorry,but…… 对不起,但是……
  (3)动名词前还可以加一个逻辑主语,一般用形容词性物主代词或名词所有格。
