Students have learnt the words and the expressions about computer using;
Students have learnt serial instructions on giving instructions of computer operation by asking and answering in present simple.
What above has provided the possibility for students to express themselves to talk about computers with questions and answers in simple tense.
Students have talked about computers, but have a bit difficulty in asking and answering about the computer in present simple with questions and answers, which should be enhanced in Unit 3 and at last will be used in the survey.
Analysis of the Teaching Material
It is a revision and application unit and have students be able to make a survey about students and computers. So in this class, teacher will have Ss make an output- survey and then report by revising the vocabularies, questions, and the structure. But it lacks of proper exercise on the report structure. Thus teacher adds a reading material to point out the structure.
Teaching Aims
Language
Most of students will be able to grasp the questions and answers in present simple by speaking, reading and discussing.
Students will be able to know the use of the words and expressions in this module: first, next, then, finally, often, turn on, use, connect, click, Internet, check, train, plan, travel, search, information, sometimes, visit, email, holiday.
Most students will be able to make a survey by asking and taking notes after revising the vocabularies, questions and structure.
Some students will be able to write a short report about computer by making a survey.
Culture
Students will be able to be aware of the different uses of computers by different people in different places.
Thought
Students will be able to summarize the use of questions in present simple by speaking, reading and survey.
Students will be able to learn to correct mistakes by communicating with their partners.
Students will be able to learn to cooperate with each other while doing surveys.

Students will be able to develop their interest in English learning by computer’s learning.

Step1: Revision:
warming-up and lead in
Greetings: greet and introduce myself.
Ask for help: Could you help me open the document in the USB Disk?
Present “first, next, then, finally” and the key words on blackboard.

Vocabularies for a Survey
Wake up vocabularies
Ask Ss “What do you often do on the computer?”.
Present on both PPT and blackboard with a word map, then ask them to read aloud.

Try to call back the vocabularies and expressions and then
Read and remember them.

Questions For a Survey
Focus on the questions
1. Ask Ss to match the questions with the answers.
2. Have Ss pay attention to the tips, then finish the exercise about questions filling.
3. Ask Ss to ask questions about the teacher and the computer with the pictres.

通过guess,引出特殊疑问词;
通过match对特殊疑问句有一个总体的感知;
本题难度较大,因此做了适当改编以降低难度,围绕疑问词的用法。为最后的survey提供问句的支持。
Step4: Revision:
The structure for a survey
Draw out the structure
Have Ss read and find the topic
Have Ss tell the advantages by the time of reply, and then lead to the “Around the World”
Ask Ss read the picture and find out “How was the first computer?”
Cmpare the the first computer with the computers now
Ask Ss to tell Which computer they like by comparison and then back to the reading about the computer now.
Ask Ss to find out what Sand and Jenny do on the computer. And lead to the structure “what/when/where/ how/why”
Rewrite the post by Sandy, and lead Ss to get the structure clearly.
Have Ss discuss “Can we play computer games on weekends?”
And finally present some tips on
playing computer games.
Ask Ss to give their replies on computer using.
Learn to form the structure
1. Try to find the topic
2. Think about the advantages.
Ss read the picture and try to tell “ large/big and heavy”.
Ss may tell “light” and “heavy”
Ss tell which computer they like by comparison.
3. Ss read and complete the survey. And try to draw up the structure in their mind.
4. Ss get to know how to make a report by making a survey.

1. 本活动为添加的活动,找准topic,树立整体意识,为学生最后的survey找准中心。同时添加的材料紧密联系computer主题。
2.阅读过程中合理穿插Around the world,拓宽学生的知识面。
3. 通过完成信息记录表,构建清晰的survey和report支架,同时阅读材料中的Sandy部分的的重组,为后文的report做好了铺垫。
4. 通过discussing引导学生主动积极的思维,理性表达自己的观点,在computer games问题上培养正确的价值观。
