第一节、阅读选择(40分)
A
Most
great
inventions
often
meet
with
many
difficulties
in
their
work
before
they
succeed.
They
have
to
solve
thousands
of
problems
on
their
ways.
The
following
is
one
of
such
examples.
George
Stephenson(1781~1848),
a
famous
British
inventor,
made
the
first
train
in
1825,
using
a
steam
engine.
When
he
was
experimenting
with
the
engine
on
the
train,
he
met
with
troubles
from
the
government
in
the
country.
They
said
the
noise
and
the
smoke
would
kill
cows,
horses
and
sheep,
that
the
engine
would
burst
or
that
the
hot
coals
from
it
would
set
fire
to
their
houses.
People
believed
what
they
said.
  George
Stephenson
told
the
people
that
the
train
could
go
on
small
rails,
could
pull
carriages
full
of
goods
and
passengers
and
that
there
was
no
great
harm
to
them.
It
was
a
very
difficult
matter
for
him
to
make
them
believe.
However,
after
some
time,
he
was
able
to
do
it,
and
the
first
train
that
was
driven
by
George
Stephenson
himself
proved
what
he
had
said.
On
the
train,
there
was
a
new
steam
engine.
It
was
invented
by
him
and
was
proved
a
complete
success.
  The
first
day
when
the
train
was
on
the
rails,
people
along
the
way
heard
the
noise
of
the
train
far
away,
and
saw
it
running
quickly
to
them.
They
thought
it
was
a
genie.
They
ran
quickly
home
for
fear
and
closed
their
doors
tightly.
They
did
not
dare
to
come
out
until
it
had
passed.
A
week
later
an
old
woman
still
said
that
her
hen(母鸡)had
been
so
frightened
that
it
hadn't
laid
any
eggs
for
three
days.
26.
When
did
George
invent
the
first
train?
A.
In
1825.
B.
In
1835.
C.
In
1725.
D.
In
1735
27.
Why
did
George
meet
difficulties?
A.
Because
people
saw
his
invention
before.
B.
Because
his
invention
was
too
dangerous.
C.
Because
there
was
something
wrong
with
his
invention.
D.
Because
people
thought
his
invention
was
not
safe.
28.
How
did
George
show
that
he
was
right?
A.
He
told
people
the
train
was
good
enough
and
useful.
B.
He
operated
the
train
by
himself
and
it
became
successful.
C.
He
asked
some
famous
people
to
operate
the
train.
D.
He
told
people
train
was
made.
29.
How
did
people
feel
when
the
train
ran
to
them?
A.
Excited.
B.
Cheerful.
C.

What
does
the
passage
want
to
tell
us?
A.
It’s
hard
to
invent
an
invention.
B.
If
you
study
hard,
you
will
win.
C.
When
you
invent
something,
you
should
show
them
to
others.
D.
Every
successful
inventor
will
have
difficulties
on
their
way.
B
Today,
most
countries
use
coins(硬币)and
paper
money
to
buy
things.
But
before
the
metal
coins
and
paper
money,
people
used
a
lot
of
unusual
things
for
money.
In
one
part
of
the
world,
for
example,
people
used
shark’s
teeth
for
money.
On
the
Pacific
island
of
Santa
Cruz,
people
used
feathers(羽毛)as
their
money,
and
they
were
the
lightest
money
ever
used.
Stones
were
the
money
of
the
people
from
the
Pacific
island
of
Yap,
and
they
were
the
heaviest
money
ever
sed.
In
addition,
people
in
one
area
even
used
the
hairs
from
elephants’
tails
for
money.
Although
the
oldest
coins
are
over
2500
years
old,
no
one
knows
when
people
started
using
metal
coins
for
money.
People
first
used
very
valuable
metals,
such
as
gold
and
silver,
to
make
coins.
They
stamped
(压印上)the
shape(形状)of
a
person
or
an
animal
on
each
coin
to
show
its
value.
But
in
China
people
used
iron
coins
as
money.
Because
these
coins
weren’t
worth
very
much,
people
had
to
use
many
of
them
to
buy
things.
It
was
not
convenient
to
make
them
everywhere,
so
the
government
started
making
paper
receipts.
People
took
these
receipts
to
banks
and
changed
them
for
coins.
This
was
the
first
example
of
paper
money.
31.
According
to
the
passage,

used
__________
before
they
had
coins
and

and
hairs

B
Today,
most
countries
use
coins(硬币)and
paper
money
to
buy
things.
But
before
the
metal
coins
and
paper
money,
people
used
a
lot
of
unusual
things
for
money.
In
one
part
of
the
world,
for
example,
people
used
shark’s
teeth
for
money.
On
the
Pacific
island
of
Santa
Cruz,
people
used
feathers(羽毛)as
their
money,
and
they
were
the
lightest
money
ever
used.
Stones
were
the
money
of
the
people
from
the
Pacific
island
of
Yap,
and
they
were
the
heaviest
money
ever
sed.
In
addition,
people
in
one
area
even
used
the
hairs
from
elephants’
tails
for

the
oldest
coins
are
over
2500
years
old,
no
one
knows
when
people
started
using
metal
coins
for
money.
People
first
used
very
valuable
metals,
such
as
gold
and
silver,
to
make
coins.
They
stamped
(压印上)the
shape(形状)of
a
person
or
an
animal
on
each
coin
to
show
its
value.
But
in
China
people
used
iron
coins
as
money.
Because
these
coins
weren’t
worth
very
much,
people
had
to
use
many
of
them
to
buy
things.
It
was
not
convenient
to
make
them
everywhere,
so
the
government
started
making
paper
receipts.
People
took
these
receipts
to
banks
and
changed
them
for
coins.
This
was
the
first
example
of
paper
money.

主要介绍了一个家庭有很多孩子,他们是多胞胎,开始有些人帮助他们还孩子,后来他们长大了,父母在家教他们知识。
46考查上下文衔接题,再看空格的前两句内容提到They
are
all
five
years
old.Why
are
they
all
the
same
age?结合常理我们能够得到他们应该是同时出生的。分析五个选项,排除不符合前后文意思内容的选项.再通过后文说They
are
septuplets!(七胞胎)第二个选项他们同时出生,明显符合先后文的因果关系,故答案是B。
47.考查上下文衔接题,根据前文说It
is
hard
work
to
look
after
seven
babies
at
the
same
time.同时照顾七个宝宝是个艰辛的工作,后文说In
the
beginning,many
people
helped
them起初有很多人帮助他们。前后逻辑是相反的,所以中间应该有转折。再看选项,把各个选项实在带入只有E但肯尼和波比没有单独照顾他们。符合前后行文顺序其它的内容均与该空无关,故选E。
48.考查上下文衔接题,前文说Every
week,the
septuplets
used
about
170diapers(尿布)!到他们每天需要大量的尿布,而把所有选项带入后发现只有A选项他们也喝了很我奶与原文空格位置逻辑顺序相符。故选A。
49.考查上下文衔接题,前文说七胞胎今年开始上学了。根据后面like
their
big
sister
Mikayla.
就像他们的姐姐米凯拉一样。可知这里应该是说他们长大了,选项现在孩子们都长大了,符合语境,故答案是D。
50.考查上下文衔接题,根据后面Now
Bobbi
is
the
teacher
for
all
eight
of
her
children.现在她是所有孩子的老师,选择C去年,波比是米卡拉的教师,符合语境,故答案是C。
