Pre- listening
1.Brainstorm
Let the Ss have a brainstorm about Spring Festival.
The teacher says: Boys and girls, we know Spring Festival is coming. When we see “Spring Festival”, what words can you think of?
Ss: fireworks/food and drink/……
Write the words on the blackboard.

First use the pictures to teach the new words & expressions about Spring Festival.

First work in pairs to ask and answer about the pictures:
What are they doing? They抮e厖. Are they.? Yes, they are. No, they aren抰.
What is she doing? She抯 厖 Is she.? Yes ,she is./ No, she isn抰.
Match the pictures with the expressions.

1. Listen and number the pictures.
Then read after the tape.
2. Listen to answer the question: What is Lingling doing for Spring Festival?.
First, The teacher says: Now, it’s time for Spring Festival in China. And everyone is getting ready for it. What is Lingling doing for Spring Festival?
Then, the teacher plays the tape for the students to listen and get the answer.
