Through comparing the two cities—London and Cambridge, let students grasp the usage of comparison of adjectives in English. By showing the picture, make students master the four compass points(east, south, west, north).

【教学过程】
Step1: Warming-up
Answer the questions according to the video, and let Ss know about England.
First, ask some questions:
Do you like travelling? ...
Where have you been?
Have you ever been to England?…
This class, let’s get to know something about England, ok?
Then,let’s watch a video about England….
(设计意图:播放“英格兰风光”视频,目的一是通过视频,让学生们真切感受美丽的英格兰风光,开阔视野,激发学生的学习兴趣,活跃课堂气氛,并引出主题。)
Consolidate new words
1.Point out the direction words.
2.Look at the map of China and point out the locations of the following cities.
Beijing Guangdong Chengdu Shanghai
1) . Shanghai is in the east of England.
2). Guangdong is in the south of England.
3) . Chengdu is in the west of England.
4) . Beijing is in the north of England.
(设计意图:利用中国地图,导入表示方位,位置的新句型并操练;)
Look and say. The teachers shows the pictures of new words and let the students to say as quickly as possible.

Step 2: Lead-in:
Look at the map of England and read these sentences.
1. Cambridge is in the east of England.
2. London is in the south of England.
3. Bristol is in the west of England.
4. Manchester is in the north of England.
(设计意图:利用英格兰地图,导入表示方位,再次出现的新句型并操练;并利用让学生弄
清托尼的家乡这一任务,导入阅读。)

Send an email to Tony to introduce our beautiful country.
(设计意图:通过这一作业的完成,在巩固写作训练的基础上,再次深化人文教育,引导学生既要热爱自己美丽的家乡,更要热爱我们美丽的祖国。)
