教材分析
本课在整个模块中起到总结归纳的作用，侧重训练学生写的能力。归纳总结过去进行时与when, while和as引导的过去时间状语从句连用的语法点。围绕“事故”这一话题进行语言实践活动。最后让学生写一篇有关一起事故的新闻报导。教师应引导学生在落笔之前要先从所提供情境中提炼出时间、地点、人物等要素，然后将这些要素串联起来描述事故经过，并适当运用过去进行时和when, while, so, because, then等词，最后可呼吁人们吸取事故教训。
