1. I don’t have a partner to practice English with. 句中的动词不定式短语to practice English with 修饰名词partner,作partner 的定语。用作定语的动词不定式或其他短语通常置于其所修饰的名词或代词后。句中的partner是动词have的宾语,也是句尾介词with的宾语。该句中的不定式理解为to practice English with a partner,其结构为“to do sth.
2. be afraid to do sth, 害怕去做某事。 Be afraid of doing sth. /n. 害怕某人或某物/做某事。 Be afraid + that 从句

2)The other指两个中的另一个,常用于one…the other…结构。
