讲授新课 1.Show the new words and pay attention to their pronounciation, exsit the English spelling or Chinese meaning, ask the students to read them together by memory.
2.Ask the students to talk about a great natural wonder they know to finish Part 1.
3.Fast-reading:

4.Careful-reading:Ask them to listen to the tape in part 2 and read the passage carefully, choose the correct answer to finish Part 3.
5.Ask the students to read the passage for a third time, and find some keys in it , solve them each other.
6.Play the video, then ask them to read the passage freely with the help of the teacher. Read it loud in class together, at last , ask them to read each passage in groups.
7.Ask them to finish Part 4 and check answers in class.

科罗拉多大峡谷位于美国亚利桑那州西北部。全长446千米，平均宽度16米，最深处1829米，平均深度超过1500米，总面积2724平方千米。大峡谷山石多为红色，从谷底到顶部分布着从寒武纪到新生代各个时期的岩层，层次清晰，色调各异，并且含有各个地质年代的代表性生物化石，被称为"活的地质史教科书"。
