B
This
is
my
third
week
studying
in
the
University
of
British
Columbia
in
Vancouver.
And
last
weekend
I
visited
a
software
company
called
Electronic
Arts
with
one
of
my
classmates.
The
reason
why
we
were
able
to
visit
that
private
company
is
that
my
classmate's
parents'
friend
works
there.
First,
we
registered
for
an
ID
card
from
the
front
desk
to
enter
the
building.
Fred,
who
was
our
guide
that
day,
told
us
we
could
play
lots
of
games
there
for
free.
We
also
went
to
their
office
to
figure
out
how
the
game
FIFA
Soccer
was
created.
There
are
500
employees
in
the
soccer
department,
but
not
everyone
does
the
same
thing.
They
are
divided
into
many
different
departments:
for
example,
action,
art,
imitation
and
intellectual
property.
In
addition,
there
are
some
groups
for
some
different
games
such
as
Plants
vs.
Zombies
and
Madden
NFL.
Additionally,
the
sports
courts
that
they
have
were
what
impressed
me
most.
There
are
not
only
basketball
and
volleyball
courts
but
also
soccer
courts!
Fred
said
to
us,“If
the
creators
of
sports
games
do
not
play
sports,
that's
really
strange.”
So,
they
can
go
to
exercise
any
time
they
want.
Furthermore,
they
can
go
to
EA
University,
which
is
a
room
where
they
can
learn
new
information
by
themselves.
The
only
thing
that
they
need
to
keep
in
mind
is
“Finish
your
work
before
the
deadline.”
Visiting
this
software
company
was
a
really
cool
experience
for
me.
This
kind
of
workplace
doesn't
exist
in
my
hometown.
So,
before
coming
here,
the
only
way
to
experience
somewhere
like
this
was
through
movies
such
as
The
Internship,
which
features
two
men
working
for
Google.
Working
for
a
company
like
that
in
the
future
is
my
goal.
24.How

company.
B.With
the

of

university.

the
recommendation
of
a
software

in

Arts

of
games
for

ideas
for

games.

Soccer.
26.What

the
deepest

on
the

various

working
hours.
27.What

in

greatly
enjoyed
the
visit
to
Electronic
Arts.
B.Movies
like
The
Internship
are
quite
popular.
C.He
is
determined
to
become
a
formal
member
of
Electronic
Arts.
D.Companies
similar
to
Electronic
Arts
are
common
in
his
hometown.
C
When
I
was
about
5
years
old,
I
experienced
my
very
first
random
act
of
kindness.
I
was
sitting
at
the
roadside
one
evening,
crying
alone
for
some
reason
when
suddenly,
a
boy
came
up
to
me
and
gave
me
a
plastic
rose.
I
remember
the
moment
when
I
took
the
rose
from
his
hand;
I
was
smiling
from
ear
to
ear,
whispering
“I
want
to
be
like
him”
to
myself
as
I
watched
him
walking
away.
From
then
on,
I
made
it
as
my
life
mission
to
do
random
acts
of
kindness
whenever
I
can.
I
was
very
determined
to
make
other
people
smile.
That
was
the
only
reason
why
I
joined
my
school's
Red
Crescent
Society
and
became
a
volunteer.
Unfortunately,
not
everyone
thinks
in
the
same
way
as
I
did.
Whenever
I
do
something
nice
to
others,
people
around
me
will
start
to
judge
my
actions.
Often
I
will
just
keep
quiet
and
ignore
what
they
say,
but
every
once
in
a
while,
they
do
drive_me_up_the_wall.
These
people
like
to
complain
about
how
humans
nowadays
are
lacking
of
humanities
and
compassion.
However,
when
they
actually
see
somebody
doing
a
good
deed
in
front
of
them,
they
start
to
question
and
criticize
that
person's
honesty.
Perhaps
it
is
the
increasing
crime
rate
and
the
never?ending
rat
race
that
caused
them
to
be
so
suspicious
to
nice
strangers.
In
other
words,
people
nowadays
have
lost
sight
of
the
real
meaning
of
kindness
and
just
let
it
go
unnoticed.
That
is
why
I
think
random
acts
of
kindness
are
really
important.
These
selfless
acts
are
not
only
capable
of
bringing
joy
to
the
recipients
but
also
to
the
givers.
Because
of
this,
I
want
to
help
spread
the
idea
of
these
random
acts
to
the
whole
world.
I
want
to
show
the
people
how
the
little
things
they
give
could
make
a
big
difference
in
someone
else's
life.
28.What
was
the
influence
of
the
boy's
rose
on
the
author?
A.It
made
the
author
feel
ashamed.

author
decided
to
follow
suit.
C.The
author
said
a
lot
to
the
boy.
D.It
gave
the
author
strength
and
hope.
29.Why
did
the
author
join
the
school's
Red
Crescent
Society?
A.To
be
a
volunteer.
B.To
live
a
happy
life.
C.To
make
others
smile.

have
a
good
time.

angry.

to
me.

me
to
climb
the
wall.
D.Force
me
to
the
dead
corner.
31.What
can
be
inferred
from
the
third
paragraph?
A.Rats
are
always
running
on
the
streets.

who
do
good
deeds
are
respected.

feels
sad
about
other
people.

between

I
first
began
experiencing
anxiety
and
depression
at
the
age
of
14,
after
being
bullied
(欺凌)
at
school
for
years.
While
at
first
anxiety
and
depression
would
come
and
go,
it
eventually
became
a
constant
part
of
my
life.
I
was
so
eager
to
find
the
solution
to
overcoming
my
anxiety
and
depression
that
I
tried
everything
from
when
I
was
in
college
to
graduate
school:
mood?changing
medication,
special
teas,
yoga,
anything
I
read
about
in
books,
and
advice
given
by
doctors.
Despite
this,
I
still
felt
I
hadn't
even
come
close
to
managing
the
problem.
But
one
afternoon,
my
eyes
fell
upon
an
article
in
a
magazine
I
was
reading
that
talked
about
how
dogs
were
able
to
help
people
with
anxiety
and
depression.
The
very
next
day,
I
decided
to
get
a
dog—a
corgi.
When
I
brought
my
little
corgi,
Buddy,
home,
I
didn't
realize
how
much
he
would
change
my
life.
It
didn't
happen
right
away,
however.
Once
the“puppy
excitement”
went
away,
my
anxiety
and
depression
came
back
as
usual.
One
morning,
I
woke
up
with
those
familiar
feeling
again.
I
didn't
want
to
get
out
of
bed.
I
turned
to
pull
the
covers
back
over
my
head
and
give
up.
That's
when
I
saw
Buddy.
Buddy
started
jumping
all
over
me,
licking
my
face,
letting
me
know
that
it
was
time
to
go
outside.
It
was
as
if
he
were
saying,“There's
no
time
to
be
sad;
the
world
is
amazing!”
And
for
the
first
time
in
my
life,
my
life
was
changing.
I
really
was
a
new
person.
This
was
my
new
beginning.
It's
been
more
than
a
year
since
that
day,
and
I've
never
spent
another
morning
unable
to
get
out
of
bed.
I've
not
cried
myself
to
sleep
or
spent
my
days
stuck
with
fear
and
regret.
Sure,
I
still
have
days
when
I
feel
sad
or
anxious.
But
with
Buddy,
my
best
friend,
by
my
side,
I've
finally
learned
how
to
manage
these
feelings
and
emotions.

In
the
case
of

disappointing

may
make

this
is

keep
getting
the
same
results.

job

to
do.
First,
I
wanted
to
be

declining”可知,此处数词six作主语,代指前文中的“polar
bear
subpopulations”,谓语应用复数形式,前后文用的是一般现在时,故填are。

Another
Approach
to
Raising
Healthy
Eaters.
In
this
article,
she
shares
her
experience
as
a
child
who
was
a
picky
eater.
She
provides
some
useful
views
for
parents
who
have
children
that
are
very
picky
about
what
foods
they
will
eat.
It
turns
out
that
demanding
(要求)
that
a
child
eat
something
doesn't
really
work
well.
The
command
to
“clean
your
plate”
can
end
up
teaching
children
that
it
is
normal
to
continue
eating
after
their
stomach
is
full.
This
habit
may
continue
into
adulthood
and
can
lead
to
overweight
bodies
or
food
disorders.
Instead,
parents
can
try
other
methods
that
might
actually
influence
their
children
to
try
new
foods.
One
very
simple
method
is
to
offer
your
children
a
small
amount
of
newly
introduced
food.
A
large
amount
can
seem
intimidating
(令人生畏的).One
or
two
bites
might
feel
less
“scary”
to
try.
Another
really
easy
thing
parents
can
do
is
to
read
the
ingredients
(成分)
on
food
instructions.
You
might
be
surprised
by
the
kinds
of
food
that
have
some
form
of
sugar
added
to
them.
One
way
to
be
a
healthier
eater
is
to
reduce
the
amount
of
sugar
a
person
eats.
Read
the
ingredient
labels,
and
pick
a
product
that
doesn't

Having
a
pet
is
rewarding,
but
it
can
be
hard
work
as
well.
However,
if
you
are
well
prepared,
caring
for
a
pet
doesn't
have
to
be
a
tiring
job.
__36__
If

__37__
Except

love.
You
need
to
make
sure
that
you
want
a
pet
not
just
for
days
but
in
the
long
term.
For
example,
most
pets
require
attention
during
the
day,
so
make
sure
you
may
have
enough
time
at
home
to
look
after
your
pet.
Choose
a
pet
that
fits
your

Different

Before

Plan
regular

Be
sure
to
bring
your
pet
to
the
vet
soon
after

Just

how
often
you
should
schedule
check?ups
and
your
pet's
medical
needs.
Exercise
your
pet
if
it's
the
kind
of
pet
that
needs
it.
Find
out
the
exercise
needs
of
the
pet
before
you
buy
it.
Besides,
you
should
also
consider
whether
your
lifestyle
gives
you
enough
time
to
meet
your
pet.
Some
pets
don't
require
you
to
take
them
for
a
walk,
such
as
the
rabbit
and
fish.
__40__
A.It
is
important
to

you
pick
a
pet

No,

It
was
the
small
hours
of
the
morning
when
we
reached
London
Airport.
I
had
cabled
London
from
Amsterdam,
and
there
was
a
hired
car
to
meet,
but
there
was
one
more
unfortunate
happening
before
I
reached
my
flat.
In
all
my
travels
I
have
never,
but
for
that
once,
been
required
by
the
British
customs
to
open
a
single
bag
or
to
do
more
than
state
that
I
carried
no
goods
liable
to
duty.
It
was,
of
course,
my
fault;
the
extreme
tiredness
and
nervous
tension
of
the
journey
had
destroyed
my
diplomacy
(外交).
I
was,
for
whichever
reason,
so
tired
that
I
could
hardly
stand,
and
to
the
question,
“have
you
read
this?”
I
replied
with
extreme
foolishness,
“yes,
hundreds
of
times.”
“And
you
have
nothing
to
declare?”
“Nothing.”
“How
long
have
you
been
out
of
this
country?”
“About
three
months.”
“And
during
that
time
you
have
acquired
nothing?”
“Nothing
but
what
is
on
the
list
I
have
given
you.”
He
seemed
momentarily
at
a
loss,
but
then
he
attacked.
The
attack,
when
it
came,
was
utterly
unexpected.
“Where
did
you
get
that
watch?”
I
could
have
kicked
myself.
Two
days
before,
when
playing
water
games
with
a
friend
in
the
bath,
I
had
forgotten
to
take
off
my
ROLEX,
and
it
had,
not
unnaturally,
stopped.
I
had
gone
into
the
market
and
bought,
for
twelve
shillings
and
six
pence,
an
ugly
time
piece
that
made
a
strange
noise.
It
had
stopped
twice,
without
any
reason,
during
the
journey.
I
explained,
but
I
had
already
lost
face.
I
produced
my
own
watch
from
a
pocket,
and
added
that
I
should
be
grateful
if
he
would
confiscate
(没收)
the
replacement.
“It
is
not
a
question
of
confiscation,”
he
said,
“there
is
a
fine
for
failing
to
declare
dutiable
goods.
And
now
may
I
please
examine
that
Rolex?”
It
took
another
quarter
of
an
hour
to
persuade
him
that
the
Rolex
was
not
contraband
(走私货).
Just
when
I
let
out
a
sigh
of
relief,
he
began
to
search
my
luggage!
24.When
did
the
writer
arrive
at
London
Airport?
A.In
the
early
morning.
B.Late
at
night.
C.At
noon.
D.Late
in
the
morning.
25.What
can
we
conclude
from
the
questions
asked
by
the
customs
officer?
A.He
was
just
doing
his
duty
by
asking
the
passenger
some
usual
questions.
B.He
must
have
noticed
the
writer's
ugly
watch.
C.He
wanted
to
embarrass
the
writer.
D.He
must
have
noticed
the
writer's
tiredness.
26.What
did
the
writer
think
of
the
watch
he
bought
in
the
market?
A.He
was
fond
of
the
watch
because
it
was
a
Rolex.
B.He
found
the
watch
useful
though
it
was
very
cheap.
C.He
didn't
like
the
watch
at
all.
D.He
was
interested
in
the
watch.
27.After
reading
the
story
we
can
infer
that
the
writer
________.
A.knew
little
about
the
customs
regulations
B.spent
a
long
time
at
the
customs
but
was
not
fined
C.was
punished
because
of

many
contraband
goods
D.must
have

This
season,
the
bushfires
in
Australia
have
burned
more
than
12.35
million
acres
of
land.
At
least
25
people
have
been
killed
and
2,000
homes
destroyed.
According
to
the
BBC,
this
is
the
most
casualties(伤亡)
from
wildfires
in
the
country
since
2009.
The
University
of
Sydney
estimates
that
480
million
animals
have
died
in
South
Wales
alone.
Zeke
Hausfather,
an
energy
systems
analyst
and
climate
researcher
at
Berkeley
Earth,
said
warmer
temperatures
and
extreme
weather
have
made
Australia
more_susceptible_to
fires
and
increased
the
length
of
the
fire
season.
“The
drier
conditions
combined
with
record
high
temperatures
in
2019
created
main
conditions
for
the
disastrous
fires.
Australia's
fires
were
worsened
by
the
combination
of
those
two.
2019
was
the
perfect
storm
for
being
the
warmest
year
on
record
for
Australia
and
the
driest
year
on
record
for
Australia,”
Hausfather
added
on
Friday.
Kevin
Trenberth,
a
senior
scientist
at
the
US
National
Center
for
Atmospheric
Research,
said
warmer
ocean
temperatures
are
also
contributed
to
more
variable
weather
around
the
world.
Trenberth
believes
that
global
warming
contributed
to
energy
imbalances
and
hot
spots
in
the
oceans,
which
can
create
a
wave
in
the
atmosphere
that
locks
weather
patterns
in
places,
causing
longer
rain
events
in
Indonesia,
for
example,
and
at
the
same
time
contributing
to
drought
in
Australia.
He
said
that
once
an
area
experiences
drought
conditions
for
two
months
or
more,
it
increases
the
risk
of
fires
catching
and
spreading.
Those
changing
weather
patterns
due
to
global
warming
make
drought
events
longer.
Climate
experts
stress
that
climate
change
is
not
the
only
factor
in
the
severity
of
wildfires.
How
land
is
managed
can
also
impact
the
amount
of
fuel
available
for
fires.
Practices
like
controlled
burns
and
other
factors
can
impact
the
risk
to
people
and
property,
such
as
warning
systems
and
the
type
of
development
in
a
given
area.
Changing
those
policies
has
great
potential
to
limit
future
damage
from
wildfires
along
with
changes
to
how
fire
management
resources
are
dispatched(派遣).
28.What
do
the
numbers
in
paragraph
1
show?
A.The
causes
of
Australian
fires.
B.The
results
of
Australian
fires.
C.The
damaged
areas
of
Australian
fires.
D.The
property
destruction
of
Australian

29.Which
of
the
following
best
explains
“more

underlined
in
the
second
paragraph?
A.Quick
to
adapt
to.
B.Sure
to
cause.
C.Sensitive
to.
D.Easy
to
be
protected
from.
30.What
can
we
infer
from
Trenberth's
research?
A.Global
warming
is
the
root
cause
of
the
bushfires.
B.Longer
dry
weather
contributes
to
global
warming.
C.Warmer
ocean
temperatures
promote
fires
spreading.
D.The
imbalanced
energy
leads
to
the
temperature
rising.
31.What
does
the
author
intend
to
do
in
the
last
paragraph?
A.To
stress
the
effects
of
Australia
fires.
B.To
show
the
methods
for
controlling
burns.
C.To
predict
the
seriousness
of
Australia
fires.
D.To
provide
some
advice
about

For
grown?ups,
an
afternoon
snooze
(打盹)
is
often
easier
said
than
done.
But
many
of
us
have
probably
experienced
just
how
simple
it
can
be
to
catch
some
sleep
in
a
gently
rocking
hammock
(吊床).
By
examining
brain
waves
in
sleeping
adults,
researchers
reported
in
the
June
21
issue
of
Current
Biology,
a
Cell
Press
publication,
that
they
now
have
evidence
to
explain
why
that
is.
“It
is
a
common
belief
that
rocking
causes
sleep:
we
fall
asleep
in
a
rocking
chair
soon
and,
since
ancient
times,
we
cradle
our
babies
to
sleep,”
said
Sophie
Schwartz
of
the
University
of
Geneva.
“Yet,
how
this
works
had
remained
a
mystery.
The
goal
of
our
study
was
made
up
of
two
parts:
to
test
whether
rocking
does
indeed
improve
sleep,
and
to
understand
how
this
might
work
at
the
brain
level.”
Schwartz,
Michel
Mühlethaler,
and
their
colleagues
Laurence
Bayer
and
Irina
Constantinescu
asked
twelve
adult
volunteers
to
nap
on
a
custom?made
bed
or
“experimental
hammock”
that
could
either
remain
still
or
rock
gently.
All
participants
were
good
sleepers
who
didn't
typically
nap
and
did
not
suffer
from
excessive
sleepiness
during
the
day.
Each
participant
took
two
45?minute
afternoon
naps,
one
with
the
bed
still
and
one
with
the
bed
in
motion,
while
their
brain
activity
was
monitored.
“We
observed
a
faster
transition
to
sleep
in
each
and
every
subject
in
the
swinging
condition,”
Mühlethaler
said.
“Surprisingly,
we
also
observed
a
dramatic
boosting
of
certain
types
of
sleep?related
brain
waves.”
More
specifically
rocking
increased
the
length
of
stage
N2
sleep,
a
form
of
non?rapid
eye
movement
sleep
that
normally
occupies
about
half
of
a
good
night's
sleep.
The
rocking
bed
also
had
a
lasting
effect
on
brain
activity,
increasing
slow
brain
waves
and
bursts
of
activity
known
as
sleep
spindles
(纺锤体).
Schwartz
and
Mühlethaler
say
the
next
step
is
to
find
out
whether
rocking
can
improve
longer
periods
of
sleep
and
to
find
out
whether
it
may
be
useful
for
the
treatment
of
sleep
disorders,
such
as
insomnia
(失眠).
32.What
does
the

A
memorable
science
project
If
someone
tells
you
to
remember
a
phone
number
or
address,
it
feels
like
an
easy
task
at
first.
You
repeat
the
numbers
to
yourself,
either
aloud
or
in
your
mind.
But
after
just
a
few
seconds
you
might
find
yourself
starting
to
doubt
your
own
memory.
__36__
Thus,
it
will
try
to
throw
away
information
that
seems
old
or
irrelevant.
There
are
ways
of
helping
our
minds
retain
(记住)
information,
however,
and
in
this
activity
you
will
explore
ways
that
we
lose
and
keep
memories
Short?term,
or
working
memory,
is
a
way
of
describing
most
people's
abilities
to
store
a
small
amount
of
information
for
a
brief
period
of
time
in
a
readily
accessible
form.
__37__
People
don't
have
to
stop
and
think
to
remember
something
in
short
term
memory.
__38__
Such
techniques
include
visualizing
(观察)
the
information
in
a
surprising
way
or
linking
pieces
of
information
together
so
that
one
reminds
you
of
the
other.
In
the
case
of
visualizing
information,
this
could
be
as
simple
as
remembering
you
parked
your
car
on
the
fifth
floor
in
the
D
section
by
picturing
five
dogs
sitting
in
your
car!
__39__
If
you
need
to
purchase
cereal
(谷物),
milk,
fruit,
cheese
and
eggs,
you
could
imagine
the
cereal
in
a
bowl,
with
milk
pouring
over
it
and
pieces
of
fruit
on
top.
Then
imagine
cracking
an
egg
over
everything,
and
it's
full
of
melted
cheese!
These
may
seem
simple
or
even
silly.
__40__
In
this
activity
you'll
test
the
recall
of
a
few
friends
or
family
members,
and
learn
a
few
tricks
for
improving
memory!
A.There
are
many
techniques
for
improving
memory.
B.Our
brain
is
always
seeking
new
and
useful
information.
C.Short?term
memory
has
a
short
duration
but
is
quickly
and
easily
accessed.
D.In
addition,
linking
information
could
help
you
remember
your
grocery
list.
E.Retaining
that
information
over
longer
periods
of
time
becomes
difficult
yet.
F.Your
short?term
memory
has
a
limited
amount
of
space
to
store
information.
G.However,
they
are
proved
to
be
good
ways
for

As
is
known
to
all,
most
stories
of
kindness
do
not
begin
with
formerly
drug?addicted
celebrity
(名人)
bad
boys.
Mine
does.
When
this
__41__
took
place,
I
was
accompanying
my
grandmother
at
a
huge
garden
party.
Suddenly,
Robert
Downey
Jr.,
in
a
nice
cream?colored
suit,
came
in.
I
pointed
out
this
big
movie
star
to
Grandma
__42__,
but
she
was
far
more
interested
in
piling
her
paper
plate
with
cheese.
As
my
80?year?old
grandmother
rose
for
the
__43__
after
the
party,
she
fell
into
a
wheelchair
ramp
(坡道)
nearby.
The
sharp
ramp
__44__
her
leg
open
and
it
was
bleeding.
I
should
have
quickly
taken
control
of
the
situation—but
due
to
my
blood
faint,
I
didn't.
Luckily,
Robert
Downey
Jr.
__45__.
He
called
an
ambulance
immediately,
and
asked
someone
to
__46__
a
blanket.
He
took
off
his
suit
and
__47__
his
suit
around
her
leg.
The
cream
color
turned
dark
red.
Robert
surely
knew
how
to
speak
to
her,
__48__,
distract
her.
He
stayed
with
my
grandmother
until
the
ambulance
came,
__49__
her
hand
and
telling
her
she
was
breaking
his
heart
by
leaving
so
early.
I
hurried
into
the
ambulance
without
a
word,
feeling
too
shy
to
thank
him.
Some
15
years
after
that
garden
party,
and
five
years
since
he'd
been
set
free
from
prison
for
possession
of
drugs
in
his
car,
I
came
across
Robert
in
a
fancy
restaurant.
I
was
__50__
to
respect
people's
privacy
and
never
__51__
someone
having
a
meal.
But
on
this
day,
I
decided
to
__52__
the
code.
“I
don't
have
any
__53__
if
you
remember
this...”
and
I
told
him
the
story.
“I
just
wanted
to
tell
you
that
it
was
simply
the
kindest
act
I've
ever
__54__.”
It's
never
too
late
to
express
our
appreciation
for
kindness
which
lies
in
everyone,
even
a
celebrity
bad
boy.
__55__,
appreciation
itself
is
a
sort
of
kindness.

50.答案与解析:C 考查动词词义辨析。句意:我从小就被教育要尊重别人的隐私,从不打扰别人吃饭。A.persuaded劝说;B.born出生;C.raised养;D.forced强迫。结合下文
respect
people's
privacy,作者从小被教育要尊重别人的隐私。故选C项。
51.答案与解析:A 考查动词词义辨析。句意:我从小就被教育要尊重别人的隐私,从不打扰别人吃饭。A.bother打扰;B.talk
to对......说;C.stare
at盯着;D.upset扰乱。结合前文I
came
across
Robert
in
a
fancy
restaurant.可知,小罗伯特在吃饭,作者从来不打扰别人。故用bother,故选A。
52.答案与解析:A 考查动词词义辨析。句意:但是在这一天,我决定抛弃约束。A.abandon抛弃;B.set设置;C.follow跟随;D.improve提高。结合前文作者十五年后与他相见,为了表达感谢,作者此时抛弃自己教养的约束去和小罗伯特打招呼。故选A项。(注:code
n.密码;代码;道德准则;行为规范。)
53.答案与解析:A 考查名词词义辨析。句意:我不知道你是否记得这件事……然后我就告诉他这个故事。
A.idea想法;B.trouble麻烦;C.doubt怀疑;D.interest兴趣。根据搭配have
no
idea,意为“不知道”。故选A项。
54.答案与解析:B 考查动词词义辨析。句意:我只是想告诉你,这是我见过的最善良的行为。A.called
for要求;B.witnessed见证,见到;C.heard
of听说;D.performed表演。根据语境,这是作者见到最善良的行为,应该用witness。故选B项。
55.答案与解析:B 考查连词词义辨析。句意:毕竟,欣赏本身就是一种善良。A.However然而;B.After
all毕竟;C.Therefore因此;D.On
the
contrary相反。根据appreciation
itself
is
a
sort
of
kindness
欣赏本身就是一种善良,可知词句顺承上句“even
a
celebrity
bad
boy”,应用after
all。故选B项。
第二节
【语篇解读】 这是一篇说明文。农作物的多样性对养活地球上不断增长的人口很重要。但是有很多植物正在消失,原因是气候变化和(这些植物)栖息地的丧失。
56.答案与解析:increasing 考查现在分词。句意:农作物的多样性对养活地球上不断增长的人口很重要。根据句意,这里要表达的是“增长的”。increase的现在分词形式increasing可以用做形容词修饰名词
,意为“增加的”符合句意,故填increasing。
57.答案与解析:helps 考查时态。分析句子成分可知help在宾语从句中做谓语,主语是having
a
large
variety
of
plants,是单数,所以谓语动词要用单数。全文时态为一般现在时,所以这里也要用一般现在时,故填helps。
58.答案与解析:largest 考查形容词的最高级。句意:世界上最大的种子保护项目之一预测将会有更多的损失。根据句意,这里要用所给形容词的最高级,故填largest。
59.答案与解析:permanently 考查副词。所给词用来修饰动词disappear。
permanent为形容词不能用于修饰动词,所以要用其副词形式permanently。故填permanently。
60.答案与解析:that/which 考查定语从句。代指先行词genes,做定语从句decide
their
qualities的主语,用关系代词,故填that/which。
61.答案与解析:activities 考查名词单复数。activity为可数名词,本句中没有冠词,说明要用其复数形式,故填activities

62.答案与解析:for 考查固定搭配。be
responsible
for
为固定搭配,意为“对……负责”,所以这里要填介词for。
63.答案与解析:
starvation 考查名词。句意:一些专家说现代商业农业方法的使用使数百万人免于饥饿。空格处为介词from的宾语,starve为动词,不能做宾语,所以用其名词形式starvation。故填starvation。
64.答案与解析:to
control 考查不定式。句意:他们用化学药品来防治疾病和昆虫。根据句意,(control)
diseases
and
insects是treated
their
fields
with
chemicals的目的,所以用不定式表目的,填to
control。
65.答案与解析:but/while/yet 考查连词。句意:收成越来越多,质量也越来越好;另一个结果是一些传统作物消失了。根据句意,Harvests
grew
larger
and
higher
quality与was
that
some
traditional
crops
were
lost.之间是转折关系,一个是好处,一个是坏处,所以要用表示转折关系的连词连接前后两个句子,故填
but/while/yet。

I
doubt
that
a

really
teaches
you
anything.
Where
I
come
from,
it's
automatic:
at
age

you
get
a
job.
It
wasn't,

I'm

It
was,
“If

I

one
of
the
things
about

that
you
get
to

“I
like
photography
because
it
captures
(捕捉)
amazing
things
that
you
might
not
see
again,”
Timmy
Walsh
says.
He
takes
pictures
of
flowers,
sunsets
and
road
signs.
But
those
photos
don't
usually
end
up
in
a
scrapbook
(剪贴簿)
or
on
his
bedroom
walls.
When
Timmy
was
five,
he
found
out
that
his
aunt
Bev
had
lung
cancer.
He
wanted
to
do
something
to
help
her.
His
first
idea
was
to
sell
his
photos
from
a
lemonade?type
stand
in
front
of
his
house
in
Pennsylvania.
“My
mom
said
it
wouldn't
work
because
we
were
not
on
a
busy
street,”
Timmy
explains.
His
next
idea
was
to
have
an
art
show.
Timmy
decorated
his
home
with
candles,
flowers,
and
white
lights.
Then
he
arranged
his
photos.
Timmy's
mom,
Sheila,
remembers:“Our
dining?room
table
was
filled,
the
living
room—everything
was
filled
with
photos.”
Friends,
family,
and
Timmy's
teachers
came
to
the
show.
He
raised
more
than
$300
for
cancer
research
that
night.
Aunt
Bev
was
“very
happy
and
excited,”
he
says.
After
a
local
newspaper
wrote
a
story
about
Timmy's
photos,
a
volunteer
offered
to
help
him
set
up
a
website.
As
people
learned
about
his
cause,
called
Camera
for
a
Cure,
Timmy
began
receiving
invitations
to
sell
his
pictures
at
art
galleries
and
fund?raisers.
Since
then,
his
work
has
appeared
in
more
than
20
shows.
When
Timmy
is
at
a
show,
he
greets
each
customer
and
talks
about
what
he
was
thinking
when
he
took
his
photos.
And
he
always
shares
facts
about
lung
cancer.
Sometimes
donations
and
sales
are
slow,
but
that
doesn't
bother
him.
“It
doesn't
matter
how
much
money
we
made
because
we
just
raised
awareness,”
he
says.
Timmy
knows
that
finding
a
cure
for
lung
cancer
will
take
time
and
effort.
So
Timmy
will
keep
doing
his
part
by
shooting
and
selling
photos
of
the
things
he
sees.
25.Before
Timmy
started
Camera
for
a
Cure,
he
________.
A.always
sold
lemonade
in
front
of
his
house
B.liked
making
scrapbooks
by
using
his
photos
C.had
developed
a
deep
interest
in
photography
D.had
been
providing
photos
for
a
local
newspaper
26.What
can
we
learn
about
the
art
show
Timmy
held
at
his
home?
A.It
was
generally
popular.
B.It
cost
$300
to
organize
it.
C.It
was
funded
by
Aunt
Bev.
D.It
was
advertised
on
a
website.
27.For
Timmy,
what's
the
benefit
of
selling
his
photos
at
art
galleries?
A.Raising
money
more
quickly.
B.Improving
his
photographic
skills.
C.Exchanging
ideas
with
other
artists.
D.Increasing
public
awareness
of
lung
cancer.
28.Which
of
the
following
can
best
describe
Timmy?
A.Proud
and
confident.
B.Imaginative
but
cautious.
C.Generous
but
self?centered.
D.Determined
and
warm?hearted.

While
many
wait
for
broadband
(宽带)
to
be
spread
to
rural
areas,
it
turns
out
that
slow
speed
confirms
what
many
of
us
have
already
known:
waiting
can
be
extremely
stressful.
An
experiment
from
Ericsson
found
that
delays
(延迟)
in
loading
web
pages
and
videos
can
lead
to
increased
heart
rates
and
stress
levels.
On
average,
it
found
that
single
delays
resulted
in
a
38%
increase
in
heart
rate.
The
company
did
this
by
recording
the
brain
and
heart
activities
of
people
while
they
completed
various
tasks
on
their
phones
and
had
to
go
through
tests
with
long
delays,
medium
delays
and
no
delays.
When
the
30
people
were
going
through
a
two?second
buffering
(缓冲)
period,
their
stress
levels
doubled.
When
it
rose
to
six
seconds,
their
stress
levels
rose
before
falling.
The
fall
was
due
to
increased
signs
with
eye
movements
suggesting
they
had
given
up
on
completing
the
task.
According
to
the
experiment,
the
stress
felt
by
these
delays
was
similar
to
watching
a
frightening
movie.
While
it
is
a
small
sample
(样本)
size,
it
shows
how
annoying
it
is
to
have
speeds
that
don't
load
up
quickly,
especially
when
dealing
with
high?data
tasks
like
watching
videos
or
uploading
images
or
files
for
work
or
personal
use.
The
average

in
European

place
Dublin
in

of
39.43
Mbps.
That's
compared
to
other
cities
like
Bucharest
which
takes
the
top
spot
thanks
to
an
impressive
download
speed
of
80.14
Mbps.
While
some
reports
suggest
Ireland
is
a
country
with
fast
Internet
speeds,
the

of

across
Ireland
has
been
slow
in

A.experience

B.spend

C.feel

Scientists
have
finally
figured
out
how
the
key
gene
(基因)
tied
to
obesity
makes
people
fat

a
major
discovery
that
could
open
the
door
to
a
completely
new
approach
to
the
problem
beyond
diet
and
exercise.
The
work
solves
a
big
mystery:
Since
2007,
researchers
have
known
that
a
gene
called
FTO
was
related
to
obesity,
but
they
didn't
know
how,
and
could
not
tie
it
to
appetite
(食欲)
or
other
known
causes.
Now
experiments
show
that
a
faulty
version
(缺陷型)
of
the
gene
causes
energy
from
food
to
be
stored
as
fat
rather
than
burned.
Genetic
tinkering
(基因修补)
in
mice
and
on
human
cells
in
the
lab
suggests
this
can
be
reversed
(颠倒),
giving
hope
that
a
drug
or
other
treatment
might
be
developed
to
do
the
same
in
people.
The
discovery
disputes
the
idea
that
“when
people
get
fat
it
is
basically
their
own
choice
because
they
choose
to
eat
too
much
or
not
exercise,”
said
study
leader
Melina
Claussnitzer,
who
is
a
genetics
specialist.
“A
lot
of
people
think
obesity
is
all
about
eating
too
much,”
but
our
fat
cells
play
a
role
in
how
food
gets
used,
Dr.
Clifford
Rosen
said.
With
this
discovery,
“you
now
have
a
pathway
for
drugs
that
can
make
those
fat
cells
work
differently.”
Several
obesity
drugs
are
already
on
the
market,
but
they
are
generally
used
for
short?term
weight
loss
and
are
aimed
at
the
brain
and
appetite.
They
don't
directly
target
metabolism
(新陈代谢).
Researchers
can't
guess
how
long
it
might
take
before
a
drug
based
on
the
new
findings
becomes
available.
But
it's
unlikely
it
would
be
a
magic
pill
that
would
enable
people
to
eat
anything
they
want
without
packing
on
the
pounds.
And
targeting
this
fat
pathway
could
affect
other
things,
so
a
treatment
would
need
strict
testing
to
prove
safe
and
effective.
The
gene
problem
doesn't
explain
all
obesity.
It
was
found
in
44
percent
of
Europeans
but
only
5
percent
of
blacks,
so
other
genes
clearly
are
at
work,
and
food
and
exercise
still
matter.
32.What
is
the
finding
of
the
study?
A.Everyone
has
the
obesity
gene.
B.The
FTO
gene
causes
obesity.
C.The
FTO

probably
mean?
A.Supports.
B.Explains.
C.Produces.
D.Challenges.
34.What
do
we
know
about
the
current
obesity
drugs?
A.They
have
few
side
effects.
B.They

up
people's
metabolism.
C.They
have
proved
to
be
safe
and
effective.

to
take
away
people's

is
the
author's
attitude
toward
the
obesity
treatment?
A.Unconcerned.
B.Doubtful.

Memory
Memory
is
the
process
of
storing
experiences
in
the
brain
and
recalling
them
later.
People
use
their
memories
during
every
moment
of
their
lives.
__36__
Even
to
walk
or
to
eat,
people
remember
the
movements
they
learned
as
children.
Scientists
know
that
memories
cause
chemical
changes
in
the
neurons
(神经元)
(nerve
cells)
in
the
brain.
The
chemical
changes
create
what
are
called
memory
paths.
These
paths
can
remain
in
the
brain
for
seconds
or
for
a
person's
entire
life.
Many
scientists
believe
that
there
are
two
levels
of
memory.
__37__
The
other
is
long?term
memory,
or
permanent
memory.
Short?term
memory
is
a
way
to
store
information
temporarily.
It
lasts
about
15
to
30
seconds.
An
example
is
keeping
a
telephone
number
in
mind
after
looking
it
up
and
while
dialing.
__38__
It
can
last
days,
months,
years,
or
a
lifetime.
Repeating
and
practicing
motions
(动作)
or
tasks
help
the
brain
to
store
information
for
a
long
time.
If
a
person
dials
a
telephone
number
many
times,
the
number
will
move
from
short?term
to
long?term
memory.
Scientists
also
think
that
there
are
different
types
of
memory.
These
include
motor?skill,
factual,
and
emotional
memory.
Motor?skill
memory
tells
people
how
to
do
physical
things
that
they
have
done
before.
It
can
be
short?term
or
long?term.
__39__
Factual
memory
is
the
storage
of
facts.
It
can
be
short?term
or
long?term.
Factual
memory
lets
people
remember
faces,
numbers,
and
the
experiences
that
happen
to
them.
__40__
It
is
long?term.
For
example,
people
tend
to
remember
very
frightening
experiences
throughout
their
lives.
Some
scientists
think
this
happens
so
that
people
are
prepared
for
problems
in
the
future.
A.Emotional
memory
is
the
memory
of
emotions.
B.One
level
is
short?term
memory,
or
working
memory.
C.They
must
remember
words
and
ideas
to
speak
or
to
write.
D.It's
easier
to
remember
a
poem
that
rhymes
than
one
that
doesn't.
E.Long?term
memory
is
the
storage
of
information
for
longer
periods.
F.People
use
motor?skill
memory
to
copy
a
dance
step
and
to
ride
a
bicycle.
G.People
can
pull
out
information
stored
in
memory
through
either
recall
or
recognition.

I
__55__
my

my

One
of
my
customers
said,

a

and
it
makes
my

on

I
__58__
a

on
the

__59__
bending

Dear
Mr.
Smith,
I'm
writing
on
behalf
of
my
class
to
extend
our
warmly
welcome
to
you.
Here
are
some
of
our
expectation
for
your
English
class.
First,
we'd
like
to
have
topics
in
class
about
Western
culture.
We
are
all
very
interesting
in
knowing
more
about
the
culture
behind
the
language.
Beside,
we'd
appreciate
various
activities
to
get
everyone
involved
at
speaking
English.
We
are
eager
to
improve
our
oral
English
as
it's
very
important
while
communicating
to
foreigners.
Lastly,
please
give
us
some
guidance
and
training
in
our
pronunciation,
because
we
all
hoped
to
speak
English
fluently
and
clearly
just
as
your
native
speakers
do.
We
would
appreciate
if
you
could
take
our
suggestions
into
consideration.
Looking
forward
to
meet
you!
Yours,
Chris

It

Hello,everybody.
Today
I'll
introduce
when
and
how
the
supermarket
came
into
being.
The
first
supermarket
was
opened
about
80
years
ago.
It
was
opened
in
New
York
by
Michael
J.Cullen.
Cullen
was
born
in
1884
and
died
in
1936.
He
had
worked
as
a
shop
assistant
in
a
store
for
nearly
30
years.
Then
he
thought
of
a
better
way
of
selling
things.
In
1929,
he
wrote
a
letter
to
his
boss,
the
owner
of
the
company
he
worked
for.
In
the
letter,the
45?year-old
sales
manager
thought
of
the
idea
of
creating
supermarkets.
In
the
supermarkets,
prices
were
reduced
on
some
products
to
encourage
buying.
Goods
were
to
be
placed
on
open
shelves
so
that
they
could
easily
be
reached.
The
advantages
of
the
supermarkets
could
be
advertised
on
radios
and
newspapers.
He
never
received
a
reply.
He
left
the
company
and
moved
to
New
York.
In
the
summer
of
1930
he
opened
the
nation's
first
supermarket
in
somebody's
old
garage.
Its
name
was
King
Kullen.
It
had
everything
modern
supermarkets
have:
separate
departments,
self-service,
discount
pricing,and
chain
marketing.
Other
King
Kullen
stores
soon
followed
and
in
1936
sales
had
reached
$6
million
from
17
stores.
Today,King
Kullen
remains
a
family-owned
business
with
47
stores.

Here
are
some
of
our
for
your
English
class.
First,
we'd
like
to
have
topics
in

about
Western
culture.
We
are
all
very
in
knowing
more
about
the
culture
behind
the
language.

we'd
appreciate
various
activities
to
get
everyone
involved
speaking
English.
We
are
eager
to
improve
our
oral
English
as
it's
very
important
while
communicating
foreigners.
Lastly,
please
give
us
some

all
to

Last
Monday,
I
participated
in
the
voluntary
activity
I
am
the
librarian
on
duty,
together
with
my
classmates.
That
morning
we
got
to
the
library
very
early
because
we
had
to
do
some
cleaning
before
the
opening
time.
We
swept
the
floor,
tidied
the
desks
and
chairs
and
put
the
books
returned
by
the
students
in
order.
When
the
library
opened,
we
assisted
the
students
in
borrowing
and
returning
books.
In
addition,
we
classified
the
new
books
bought
the
other
day
and
put
them
on
different
shelves
with
the
help
of
the
school
librarians.
Although
the
work
was
tiring,
we
found
it
worthwhile
because
we
learned
a
lot
about
management
skills.
And
the
activity
made
us
understand
it
is
better
to
give
than
to
receive.

In

still

largely
by

French

In

their

to
the
effects
of
a
Frenchman
from
Paris
called
Gin.
Gin
spent
five
months
in
early
2015
exploring
the
most
remote
corners
of
this
area,
which
sits
on
the
edge
of
the
Amazon
rainforest,
which
half
its
population
of
only
250,000
living
in
its
capital,
Cayenne.
“I
have
a
special
love
for
the
French
Guianese
people.
I
have
worked
there
on
and
off
for
almost
ten
years,”
says
Gin.
“I've
been
able
to
keep
firm
friendships
with
them.
Thus
I
have
been
allowed
to
gain
access
to
their
living
environment.
I
don't
see
it
as
a
lawless
land.
But
rather
I
see
it
as
an
area
of
freedom.”
“I
wanted
to
show
the
audience
a
photographic
record
touching
upon
the
uncivilized
life,”
continues
Gin.
“I
prefer
to
work
in
black
and
white,
which
allows
me
to
show
different
specific
worlds
more
clearly.”
His
black?and?white
pictures
present
a
world
almost
lost
in
time.
These
pictures
show
people
seemingly
pushed
into
a
world
that
they
were
unprepared
for.
These
local
citizens
now
have
to
balance
their
traditional
self?supporting
hunting
lifestyle
with
the
lifestyle
offered
by
the
modern
French
Republic,
which
brings
with
it
not
only
necessary
state
welfare,
but
also
alcoholism,
betrayal
and
even
suicide.

Helsinki
is
offering
young
people
the
chance
to
rent
a
cheap
apartment
in
an
old
people's
home,if
they
agree
to
spend
time
socialising
with
the
elderly
residents.
The
city
council
(议会)
is
seeking
applications
from
renters
under
the
age
of
25
who
will
commit
to
spending
between
three
and
five
hours
each
week
with
their
older
neighbours,
at
a
care
home
in
the
eastern
Laajasalo
district.
In
exchange,
they'll
get
a
studio
flat
measuring
23
square
meters
with
a
private
kitchen,
bathroom
and
balcony
for
250
euros
per
month.
Currently
only
three
flats
are
available,
but
the
scheme
(方案)
is
part
of
a
wider
effort
to
deal
with
a
lack
of
accommodation
for
young
people
in
the
capital.
Ordinarily
a
studio
flat
costs
about
600
euros
a
month,
depending
on
the
area,
one
local
university
advises.
Those
who
apply
don't
need
any
specific
care
experience.
“There
are
staff
to
look
after
the
elderly,”
project
manager
Miki
Mielonen
tells
Yle.“We
are
looking
for
young
people
who
maybe
have
a
different
perspective
on
everyday
life,
who
will
bring
variety
and
recreation
to
the
elderly
residents.”
More
than
60
people
have
applied
for
the
spaces
in
less
than
a
week,
and
the
idea
has
also
been
widely
recognized
by
Finns
on
social
media.
“Great
project,hopefully
it
will
spread
to
other
areas,”writes
one
person
on
the
Internet,
while
another
applauds
the
scheme
for
bringing
different
generations
together.
But
some
wish
it
was
open
to
more
people,
with
one
user
saying:
“It's
a
shame
the
flats
are
so
small.
It
would
have
been
nice
if
the
elderly
had
a
small
family
with
children
or
a
single
parent
as
their
neighbour.”
And
one
person
has
a
different
opinion
about
the
cut?off
age,
writing:
“Shame_I'm_too_old_for_this—I_would_have_surely_applied.”
28.One

probably
get
the

if
he

the
new
rent
scheme
accepted?
A.It
can
benefit
both
young
and
old.
B.It
doesn't
need
any
professional
training.
C.The
flats
are
well?equipped.
D.Big
apartments

30.What
does
the

A.He
doesn't

B.He
has
a

to

C.He

31.What
would

D.A

D
Prolonging
human
life
has
increased
the
size
of
the
human
population.
Many
people
alive
today
would
have
died
of
childhood
diseases
if
they
had
been
born
100
years
ago.
Because
more
people
live
longer,
there
are
more
people
around
than
at
any
other
given
time.
In
fact,
it
is
a
decrease
in
death
rates,
not
an
increase
in
birthrates,
that
has
led
to
the
population
explosion.
Prolonging
human
life
has
also
increased
the
dependency
load.
In
all
societies,
people
who
are
disabled
or
too
young
or
too
old
to
work
are
dependent
on
the
rest
of
society
to
provide
for
them.
In
hunting
and
gathering
cultures,
old
people
who
could
not
keep
up
might
be
left
behind
to
die.
In
times
of
famine
infants
might
be
allowed
to
die
because
they
could
not
survive
if
their
parents
starved,
where
as
if
the
parents
survived
they
could
have
another
child.
In
most
present
societies,
people
feel
a
moral
obligation
to
keep
people
alive
whether
they
can
work
or
not.
We
have
a
great
many
people
today
who
live
past
the
age
at
which
they
want
to
work
or
are
able
to
work;
we
also
have
rules
which
require
people
to
retire
at
a
certain
age.
Unless
these
people
were
able
to
save
money
for
their
retirement,
somebody
else
must
support
them.
In
the
United
States
many
retired
people
live
on
social
security
checks
which
are
so
little
that
they
must
live
in
near
poverty.
Older
people
have
more
illnesses
than
young
or
middle?aged
people;
unless
they
have
wealth
or
private
or
government
insurance,
they
must
often
“go
on
welfare”
if
they
have
a
serious
illness.
When
older
people
become
too
weak
and
ill
to
care
for
themselves,
they
create
serious
problems
for
their
families.
In
the
past
and
in
some
traditional
cultures,
they
would
be
cared
for
at
home
until
they
died.
Today,
with
most
members
of
a
household
working
or
in
school,
there
is
often
no
one
at
home
who
can
care
for
a
sick
or
weak
person.
To
meet
this
need,
a
great
many
nursing
homes
and
convalescent
hospitals
have
been
built.
These
are
often
profit?making
organizations,
although
some
are
sponsored
by
religious
and
other
nonprofit
groups.
While
a
few
of
these
institutions
are
good,
most
of
them
are
simply
“dumping
grounds”
for
the
dying
in
which
“care”
is
given
by
poorly?paid,
overworked,
and
under?skilled
personnel.
32.The

believes
that
the
population
explosion
results
from
________.
A.an
increase
in
birthrates
B.a
decrease
in
death
rates
C.the
industrial
development
D.human
beings'
cultural
advances

can
be
inferred
from
the
passage
that
in
hunting
and
gathering
cultures
________.
A.it
was
a
moral
responsibility
for
the
families
to
keep
alive
the
aged
people
who
could
not
work
B.old
people
were
given
the
task
of
passing
on
the
cultural
wisdom
of
the
tribe
to
new
generations
C.the
survival
of
babies
was
less
important
than
that
of
their
parents
in
times
of
starvation
D.death
was
celebrated
as
a
time
of
rejoicing
for
an
individual
free
of
the
hardships
of
life
34.According
to
the
passage,
which
of
the
following
statements
about
the
old
people
in
the
United
States
is
True?
A.When
they
reach
a
certain
age,
they
retire
and
benefit
from
retirement.
B.A
minority
of
them

in
a
state
of
near
poverty
after
their
retirement.
C.With
the
rising
prices,
they
must
suffer
more
from
unbearable
burdens
than
ever.
D.Many
of
them
live
on
social
security
money
which
is
hardly
enough.
35.Which
of

best
describes
the
author's
attitude
toward
most

C.Optimistic.
D.Sympathetic.

If
anyone
had
told
me
three
years
ago
that
I
would
be
spending
most
of
my
weekends
camping,
I
would
have
laughed
heartily.
Campers,
in
my
eyes,
were
people
who
enjoyed
insect
bites,
ill?cooked
meals,
and
uncomfortable
sleeping
bags.
They
had
nothing
in
common
with
me.
__36__
The
friends
who
introduced
me
to
camping
thought
that
it
meant
to
be
a
pioneer.
__37__
We
slept
in
a
tent,
cooked
over
an
open
fire,
and
walked
a
long
distance
to
take
the
shower
and
use
the
bathroom.
This
brief
visit
with
Mother
Nature
cost
me
two
days
off
from
work,
recovering
from
a
bad
case
of
sunburn
and
the
doctor's
bill
for
my
son's
food
poisoning.
I
was,
nevertheless,
talked
into
going
on
another
fun?filled
holiday
in
the
wilderness.
__38__
Instead,
we
had
a
pop?up
camper
with
comfortable
beds
and
an
air
conditioner.
My
nature?loving
friends
had
remembered
to
bring
all
the
necessities
of
life.
__39__
We
have
done
a
lot
of
it
since.
Recently,
we
bought
a
twenty?eight?foot
travel
trailer
complete
with
a
bathroom
and
a
built?in
TV
set.
There
is
a
separate
bedroom,
a
modern
kitchen
with
a
refrigerator.
The
trailer
even
has
matching
carpet
and
curtains.
__40__
It
must
be
true
that
sooner
or
later,
everyone
finds
his
or
her
way
back
to
nature.
I
recommend
that
you
find
your
way
in
style.
A.This
time
there
was
no
tent.
B.Things
are
going
to
be
improved.
C.The
trip
they
took
me
on
was
a
rough
one.
D.I
was
to
learn
a
lot
about
camping
since
then,
however.
E.I
must
say
that
I
have
certainly
come
to
enjoy
camping.
F.After
the
trip,
my
family
became
quite
interested
in
camping.
G.There
was
no
shade
as
the
trees
were
no
more
than
3
feet
tall.

In
many
countries
now
the
drivers
and
front
passenger
are
told
to
wear
seat
belts.
Most
doctors
believe
that
seat
belts
save
people
from
being
seriously
hurt
in
an
accident.
But
there
are
some
people
who
still
think
that
it
is
more
dangerous
to
wear
a
seat
belt
than
not
to
wear
one.
They
say
that
a
seat
belt
may
trap
one
in
a
car
that
is
burning,
or
that
has
fallen
into
a
river
or
the
sea
and
is
sinking.
But
less
than
half
of
car
accidents
lead
to
fire
or
sinking,
and
in
any
case,
a
seat
belt
may
easily
save
a
person
from
being
killed.
He
or
she
is
able
to
undo
the
seat
belt
immediately
and
get
out
of
the
car
that
is
on
fire
or
sinking.
Some
people
who
are
against
seat
belts
also
sometimes
say
that
without
one,
one
may
be
thrown
right
out
of
a
car
if
an
accident
happens.
But
doctors
will
tell
you
that
that
is
the
last
thing
one
wants
to
happen:
if
one
is
thrown
out
of
a
car,
one
hits
something,
usually
the
road,
and
usually
hard
and
at
a
high
speed.
So
it
is
better
to
remain
inside
in
the
case
of
an
accident.
Now,
I
hope
you
can
see
why
it
is
necessary
to
wear
a
seat
belt.

explosion.(导致人口爆炸的是死亡率的下降,而不是出生率的上升)”可推知,作者认为人口爆炸的原因是死亡率的下降。故此题答案为B。
33.答案与解析:C 推断判断题。根据文章第二段第四句“...
infants
might
be
allowed
to
die
because

第二节
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文。作者讲述了自己近三年来逐渐改变了对野营的看法,从以前对野营活动嗤之以鼻,经过几次野营后慢慢喜欢上了野营,最后表达野营将逐渐成为人类回归自然的很好方式,建议人们找到属于自己的方式。
36.答案与解析:D 上文“They
had
nothing
in
common
with
me”说明作者原来认为他不会成为野营者,而下文主要描述的是“我”从最开始进行“rough
travel”到有了“pop?up
camper”再到有了
trailer的过程,在这过程中作者对野营的爱好逐步增加,对野营的相关知识也在逐步增长,上下文呈转折关系。D项意为“然而在那之后我将会学到关于野营的很多知识”,起到转折作用,引出下文,符合语境。故正确答案为D。
37.答案与解析:C 由下文“We
slept
in
a
tent,
cooked
over
an
open
fire,
and
walked
a
long
distance
to
take
the
shower
and
use
the
bathroom”可知,“我”的野营条件非常艰苦。C项意为“他们带我去的旅途非常艰苦”,引出下文,符合语境。故正确答案为C。
38.答案与解析:A 由下文“Instead,
we
had
a
pop?up
camper
with
comfortable
beds
and
an
air
conditioner”可知,空格处是与下文形成转折的内容,而“我”此次旅行用了展开式营房。A项意为“这一次没有帐篷”,与下文形成转折,符合语境。故正确答案为A。
39.答案与解析:F 由第三段第一句“going
on
another
fun?filled
holiday”可知,“我”对这次旅行非常满意,而由下文“We
have
done
a
lot
of
it
since”可知,“我们”都爱上了野营。F项意为“从这里旅行后,我全家都对野营产生了巨大的兴趣”,承上启下,符合语境。故正确答案为F。
40.答案与解析:E 由下文“sooner
or
later,everyone
finds
his
or
her
way
back
to
nature”可知,“我”希望每个人都能找到回归自然,也就是野营的个性化选择,形成这一观点的前提是“我”自己已经爱上了野营。E项意为“我必须承认我已经开始享受野营了”,引出下文,符合语境。故正确答案为E。
第三部分
第一节
【语篇解读】 本文是记叙文。每年秋季,作者和妻子的首要安排就是去洛杉矶看望他们的小儿子。尽管洛杉矶糟糕的天气和拥挤的交通会把旅行变成一场梦魇,但因为儿子在那里,老两口还是坚定不移地履行着这年度仪式。
41.答案与解析:B 考查并列连词。A.and和;B.but但是;C.if如果;D.so所以。我们每年秋季都要去北美地区看望孩子们,不是因为他们不喜欢我们,“而是(but)”因为被他们的生活方式和工作所迫。故选B。
42.答案与解析:C 考查动词。A.invited邀请;B.told告诉;C.taken拿走,带走;D.welcomed欢迎;此处是拟人化的用法,指生活方式和工作“带着(taken)”孩子们远住在北美各地。故选C。
43.答案与解析:B 考查副词。A.well很好地;B.often经常;C.actively积极地;D.happily高兴地。由“the
far
corners
of
North
America”可知,因为孩子们住得离我们远,所以我们不能“经常(often)”看到他们。故选B。
44.答案与解析:B 考查形容词比较级。A.earlier更早的;B.easier更容易的;C.faster更快的;D.worse更糟糕的。由上文的“Each
fall
my
wife
and
I
go
to
visit
our
children”可知,我们去看望孩子们要比他们来看我们“更容易(easier)”。故选B。
45.答案与解析:C 考查动词。A.walk散步;B.swim游泳;C.travel旅行;D.work工作。由下文的trip和journey可知,我们去看望孩子们也是去“旅行(travel)”。故选C。

fall可知,“我”和妻子去看望孩子们是在“秋季(fall)”。故选A。
47.答案与解析:D 考查动词。A.left离开;B.passed经过;C.called打电话;D.reached抵达。由下文的“returned
to

48.答案与解析:B 考查名词。A.effort努力;B.time时间;C.money金钱;D.courage勇气。由“It
was
hot
there”可知,因为天气热,我们把大多数“时间(time)”花在泳池里。故选B。
49.答案与解析:C 考查形容词。A.mild温和的;B.cool凉爽的;C.hot热的;D.dry干的。由上文的“It
was
hot
there”和下文的“over
40
degrees”可知,Indio的天气十分“炎热(hot)”。故选C。
50.答案与解析:A 考查名词。A.weather天气;B.water水;C.holiday假日;D.air空气。由cool和“it
doesn't
get
much
over
33
degrees.”可知,此处是指当地人坚信深秋的“天气(weather)”是凉爽的。故选A。
51.答案与解析:D 考查副词。A.finally最后;B.luckily幸运地;C.naturally自然地;D.obviously明显地。当地人说深秋天气不会超过33度,但“明显地(obviously)”,我们住在Indio的时候,气温已然超过40度。故选D。
52.答案与解析:B 考查动词。A.detect察觉;B.avoid躲避;C.follow跟随;D.imagine想象。Indio的天气太热了,我们返回洛杉矶“躲避(avoid)”那里的炎热。故选B。
53.答案与解析:A 考查动词。A.see看见;B.hold握住;C.hear听见;D.touch触摸。我们开车返回洛杉矶的路上,向西望去,“看到(see)”市区上空笼罩的一层灰蒙蒙的雾霾。故选A。
54.答案与解析:C 考查动词。A.testing测试;B.collecting收集;C.breathing呼吸;D.enjoying喜爱。此句承接上文提到的“a
layer
of
dirty
brown
haze”,再由下文的“having
air
you
can
almost
taste”可知,接下来的几天我们将要“呼吸(breathing)”的就是洛杉矶市区上空笼罩的雾霾。故选C。
55.答案与解析:C 考查动词。A.forget忘记;B.recognize认出;C.like喜欢;D.understand明白,理解。由下文的“I
wouldn't
want
to
live
anywhere
in
the
US
and
Los
Angeles,
in
particular”可知,“我”不“喜欢(like)”洛杉矶,即使“我”必须住在美国,洛杉矶也不是“我”想定居的地方。故选C。
56.答案与解析:B 考查动词词组。A.give
up放弃;B.settle
in迁入,定居;C.look
for寻找;D.turn
up出现,发生。由上文的“I
wouldn't
want
to
live
anywhere
in
the
US
and
Los
Angeles,
in
particular”可知,“我”不“喜欢(like)”洛杉矶,即使“我”必须住在美国,洛杉矶也不是“我”想“定居(settle
in)”的地方。故选B。
57.答案与解析:D 考查名词。A.lifestyle生活方式;B.attitude态度;C.custom风俗;D.attraction吸引人的地方。由下文列举的“Hollywood,

59.答案与解析:D 考查形容词。A.free自由的;B.heavy重的;C.tense紧张的;D.nice好的。由上文“我”不喜欢洛杉矶可知,洛杉矶糟糕的天气和拥挤的交通并不是一个值得让“我”去的“好(nice)”环境。故选D。
60.答案与解析:C 考查副词。由上文的“the
annual
journey
to
Los
Angeles”可知,虽然“我”不喜欢洛杉矶,但因为儿子喜欢那里,“我”和妻子明年还会“再来(back)”。故选C。
第二节
