B
How
fit
are
your
teeth?
Are
you
lazy
about
brushing
them?
Never
fear:
An
inventor
is
on
the
case.
An
electric
toothbrush
senses
how
long
and
how
well
you
brush,
and
it
lets
you
track
your
performance
on
your
phone.
The
Kolibree
toothbrush
was
exhibited
at
the
International
Consumer
Electronics
Show
in
Las
Vegas
this
week.
It
senses
how
it
is
moved
and
can
send
the
information
to
an
Android
phone
or
iPhone
via
a
Bluetooth
wireless
connection.
The
toothbrush
will
be
able
to
teach
you
to
brush
right
(don’t
forget
the
insides
of
the
teeth!)
and
make
sure
you’re
brushing
long
enough.
“It’s
kind
of
like
having
a
dentist(牙医)
actually
watch
your
brushing
on
a
day-to-day
basis,”
says
Thomas
Serval,
the
French
inventor.
The
toothbrush
will
also
be
able
to
talk
to
other
applications
on
your
phone,
so
developers
could,
for
instance,
create
a
game
controlled
by
your
toothbrush.
You
could
score
points
for
beating
monsters
among
your
teeth.
“We
try
to
make
it
smart
but
also
fun.”
Several
says.
Serval
says
he
was
inspired
by
his
experience
as
a
father.
He
would
come
home
from
work
and
ask
his
kids
if
they
had
brushed
their
teeth.
They
said
“yes,”
but
Serval
would
find
their
toothbrush
heads
dry.
He
decided
he
needed
a
brush
that
really
told
him
how
well
his
children
brushed.
The
company
says
the
Kolibree
will
go
on
sale
this
summer,
from
$99
to
$199,
developing
on
features.
The
US
is
the
first
target
market.
Serval
says
that
one
day,
it’ll
be
possible
to
replace
the
brush
on
the
handle
with
a
brushing
unit
that
also
has
a
camera.
The
camera
can
even
examine
holes
in
your
teeth
while
you
brush.
24.
Which
is
one
of
the
characteristic
of
the
Kolibree
toothbrush?
A.
It
can
sense
how
users
brush
their
teeth.
B.
It
can
track
users'
school
performance.
C.
It
can
detect
users’
fear
of
seeing
a
dentist.
D.
It
can
help
users
find
their
phones.
25.
What
can
we
learn
from
Serval’s
words
in
Paragraph
3?
A.
You
will
find
it
enjoyable
to
see
a
dentist.
B.
You
should
see
your
dentist
on
a
day-to-day
basis.
C.
You
can
brush
with
the
Kolibree
as
if
guided
by
a
dentist.
D.
You’d
like
a
dentist
to
watch
you
brush
your
teeth
every
day.
26.
What
is
Paragraph
5
mainly
about?
A.
How
Serval
found
out
his
kids
lied
to
him.
B.
Why
Serval
thought
brushing
teeth
was
necessary.
C.
How
Serval
taught
his
kids
to
brush
their
teeth.
D.
What
encouraged
Serval
to
invent
the
toothbrush.
27.
What
can
we
infer
about
Serval's
children?
A.
They
were
unwilling
to
brush
their
teeth.
B.
They
often
failed
to
clean
their
toothbrushes.
C.
They
preferred
to
use
a
toothbrush
with
a
dry
head.
D.
They
liked
brushing
their
teeth
after
Serval
came
home.
C
This
activity
will
melt
away
the
pounds,
build
your
body
and
leave
you
on
an
emotional
high.
Yet
the
form
of
exercise,
the
fitness
trend(趋势)
of
the
year,
does
not
require
gym
membership
or
a
personal
trainer.
All
you
need
to
do
is
walk.
"Walking
is
a
refreshing
alternative
to
complicated
aerobic
(氧)routines
and
overpriced
gym
membership,"
says
personal
trainer
Lucy
Knight,
author
of
a
new
book
on
the
exercise.
“It
is
free,
enjoyable
and
already
a
part
of
everyday
life.
All
you
need
to
do
is
correct
your
technique,
walk
faster
and
for
longer
and
you
will
lose
weight?"
There
is
much
evidence
of
the
benefits
of
walking.
Scientists
at
the
University
of
Pittsburgh
recently
discovered
that
overweight
people
who
walked
briskly
(快)for
30
to
60
minutes
a
day
lost
weight
even
if
they
didn't
change
any
other
lifestyle
habits.
Another
American
study
found
that
people
who
walked
for
at
least
four
hours
a
week
gained
less
weight
than
couch
potatoes
as
they
got
older.
Researchers
at
the
University
of
Massachusetts
medical
school
found
that
people
who
walked
every
day
had
25
percent
fewer
colds
than
those
who
sat
a
lot.
Best
of
all,
walking
makes
you
feel
good
about
yourself
"For
people
suffering
from
depression,
walking
three
to
four
times
a
week
for
30
minutes
has
been
shown
to
lift
their
mood,”
says
Knight.
But
how
to
walk
your
way
to
weight
loss
and
wellness?
Health
experts
recommend
that
we
should
walk
10,000
steps
a
day
to
stay
healthy.
Actually,
you
would
probably
need
to
walk
at
least
16,000
steps
a
day
to
lose
weight.
"Your
workout
plans
depend
on
your
level
of
fitness.
You
should
aim
to
progress
by
increasing
your
walking
time
by
five
minutes
every
two
weeks,
and
walk
a
bit
faster.
In
just
three
months,
the
results
should
speak
for
themselves,"
says
Knight.

in
a
gym.
D.

underlined
word
"overpriced"
in
paragraph
2
means
.
A.

an
enjoyable
way

different
groups
of
people
31.
It

that
.
A.
1600
steps
a
day
is
needed
for
weight
losses
B.
the

D
To
Friend
or
Not
to
Friend
We
all
love
our
parents
and
turn
to
them
when
we're
in
need,
but
would
you
like
them
to
hear
the
conversations
you
have
with
your
friends
on
the
school
playground
or
lunch
queue?
Social
networking
sites
have
become
extensions
of
the
school
hallways,
so
would
you
add
your
parents
as
"friends”
and
allow
them
to
view
your
online
activities
and
conversations
with
friends?
In
the
past
the
generation
gap
included
a
technology
gap,
where
children
were
up
to
date
with
latest
technology
and
parents
were
left
behind,
content
to
continue
their
day
to
day
lives
as
they
always
had
because
they
had
no
need
to
know
more
about
technology.
However,
more
and
more
parents
are
beginning
to
realize
just
how
important
social
networks
are
in
their
lives.
This
realization
has
given
many
parents
the
motivation
to
educate
themselves
about
social
networking
sites.
These
days
many
people
are
attracted
to
social
networking
sites
because
they
can
choose
who
they
have
around
them;
there's
also
a
certain
amount
of
control
over
privacy
that
we
don't
get
in
real
life.
Sometimes
we
feel
that
privacy
is
violated
when
we
must
accept
a
"friend"
request
from
a
parent
or
family
member.
It's
a
difficult
choice
whether
or
not
to
allow
a
parent
to
become
a
part
of
our
online
lives.
On
the
one
hand
we
don't
want
to
"reject"
their
request
because
that
might
hurt
their
feelings
or
make
them
feel
you
have
something
to
hide.
On
the
other
hand
if
you
do
accept,
then
you
could
have
a
sense
of
being
watched
and
no
longer
feel
free
to
comment
or
communicate
the
way
you
did
before.
A
recent
survey
suggested
that
parents
shouldn't
take
it
personally
if
their
child
ignores
their
request:
"When
a
teen
ignores
a
parent's
friend
request,
it
doesn't
necessarily
mean
that
they
are
hiding
something,
but
it
could
mean
that
this
is
one
part
of
their
life
where
they
want
to
be
independent."
Perhaps
talking
with
parents
and
giving
explanations
would
help
soften
the
blow
if
you
do
choose
not
to
add
them
to
your
friends
list.
32.

that
.
A.
parents
feel
secure
about
the
privacy
online
B.
social
networks
successfully
fill
the
generation
gap
C.
parents
have
realized
the
importance
of
social
networks
D.
social
networks
offer
a
platform
for
parents
to
communicate
33.
Teenagers
may
refuse
a
parent's
friend
request
because
.
A.
they
hide
something
from
their
parents
B.
they
are
unwilling
to
be
watched
by
parents
C.
their
parents
tend
to
fall
behind
in
technology
D.
their
parents
make
negative
comments
on
them
34.

passage
is

about
.
A.
Parents’
friend
requests

social
networks

privacy
online
D.
the
generation
gap
35.
The
passage
is

expected
38
that
his
father
had
bought
the
car.
Finally,
on
the
morning
of
the
special
day,
his
father
called
him
into
his
study.
His
father
told
him
how
39
he
was
to
have
such
a
fine
son,
and
how
much
he
loved
him.
He
handed
his
son
a
beautiful
wrapped
gift
box.
Curious,
but
a
little
bit
40
,
the
young
man
opened
the
box
and
found
a
lovely,
leather-bound
Bible.
Angrily,
he
raised
his
41
to
his
father
and
said,
“Is
a
Bible
42
you
can
give
me
with
all
your
money?”
He
then
stormed
out
of
the
house,
leaving
the
Bible.
Many
years
43
and
the
young
man
was
very
successful
in
business,
but
44
his
father
was
very
old,
he
thought
perhaps
he
45
go
to
see
him.
He
had
not
seen
him
since
that
graduation
day.
46
he
could
make
the
arrangements,
he
received
a
telegram
which
47
him
of
his
father’s
death,
and
all
the
possessions
(财产)
left
to
him.
48
arriving
at
his
father’s
house,
sudden
sadness
and
regret
filled
his
heart.
He
began
to
49
through
his
father’s
important
papers
and
saw
the
still
new
Bible,
just
as
he
had
50
it
years
ago.
With
tears,
he
opened
the
Bible
and
began
to
51
.
As
he
was
reading,
a
car
52
dropped
from
the
back
of
the
Bible.
?How
many
times
do
we
53
blessings
because
they
are
not
wrapped
as
we
expected?
Do
not

desiring
what
you
have
not;
but

that
what
you
now
have
was
once
54
the
things
you

for.
What
may
appear
as

第三节
七选五(共5小题;
每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Even
if
you
think
that
your
parents
are
mean-spirited
at
times,
loving
them
is
a
normal
part
of
life.
56.

Here
are
some
ways
to
love
your
parents.
Tell
them
you
love
them
every
morning.
A
gentle
“good
morning”
and
“I
love
you”
will
warm
a
coldest
heart.
Remember
that
they
brought
you
into
this
world.
57.

Respect
them
more
and
value
the
moments
with
them.
You
can
use
these
moments
to
learn
from
them,
preparing
yourself
for
when
you’re
off
on
your
own.
It’s
OK
to
get
angry
but
angry
actions
don’t
help
you
or
your
parents.
58.

After
this,
share
your
feelings
with
your
parents.
Obey
their
requests.
It
will
make
your
attitude
better
and
earn
you
more
respect
from
them.
It
may
seem
as
if
you
are
going
through
hell
when
you
don't
get
what
you
want.
59.

Understand
that
parents
are
human
beings
and
make
mistakes.
Forgiveness
is
the
key.
Since
you
can
forgive
your
friends,
why
not
forgive
your
parents?
60.

Do
things
with
your
parents
like
watching
TV,
or
go
somewhere
with
them.
Anyway,
spend
as
much
time
with
them
as
you
can.
A.
Keep
them
company.
B.
Parents
will
in
turn
express
their
love
to
you.
C.
You
love
them
because
they
created
you
and
raised
you.
D.
Act
calmly,
write
down
your
feelings,
or
talk
with
your
friends.
E.
Please
remember
parents
are
the
dearest
people
for
us
in
the
world.
F.
However,
you
should
remember
it
is
your
parents
who
love
you
and
protect
you.
G.
Without
your
parents,
we
might
still
wander
at
an
unknown
comer
in
an
unknown
world.

第一节
书面表达(共1题;每题25分,满分25分)
Dear
headmaster,
I'm
Li
Hua,
a
student
from
Senior
1.
I
am
writing
to
discuss
the
traffic
problem
near
our
school
gate.
With
so
many
parents
coming
to
pick
up
their
children,
traffic
jams
are
frequent
near
the
school
gate,
causing
much
inconvenience
to
us
and
passers-by.
In
order
to
avoid
traffic
congestion,
I
strongly
recommend
some
effective
measures
be
taken.
First,
we
should
encourage
students
to
ride
a
bicycle
or
walk
to
school
by
themselves
instead
of
taking
a
car,
which
will
not
only
help
reduce
the
jam,
but
benefit
students'
health.
It
is
also
a
good
idea
to
allow
the
students
of
Senior
1
to
leave
school
10
minutes
earlier
than
others,
which
will
surely
make
the
street
less
crowded.
Besides,
cars
should
not
be
allowed
to
park
near
the
school
gate.
I
do
hope
there
will
be
fewer
traffic
jams
near
our
school
gate.
Yours,
Li

W:
Welcome
to
our
program,
Dr
Peterson.
Let's
see
what
questions
we've
got
for
you
today.
Here's
one:
Can
cats
see
color?
M:
Sort
of.
In
the
wild,
many
cats
hunt
at
night
because
their
eyes
are
designed
for
low
light.
Your
cat
can't
see
bright
colors
such
as
red
and
green.
But
it
picks
up
more
shades
of
blue,
yellow,
and
grey
than
humans
do.
W:
And
why
do
cats
give
dead
birds
to
their
owners?
M:
When
your
cat
drops
a
dead
bird
at
your
feet,
she
isn't
bringing
you
a
present.
Most
cats
just
drag
food
home
because
it's
a
safe
place
to
eat.
A
cat's
mom
also
brings
home
things
to
her
children
to
help
them
practice
hunting.
So,
a
female
cat
without
children
may
bring
these
"treats"
to
her
owner
instead.
You
may
not
like
them,
but
at
least
you
don't
have
to
write
her
a
thank-you
note.?

W:
How
is
little
Ed
doing
at
the
kindergarten,
Jack?
M:
Oh,
he's
doing
fairly
well.
It's
been
three
weeks
since
he
first
started
going,
so
Macy
and
I
are
pretty
used
to
it
now.
You
should
have
seen
Macy
cry
when
Ed
was
about
to
set
off
on
the
first
day,
though.
W:
I
think
that's
a
normal
reaction
for
mothers.
You
live
quite
close
to
the
kindergarten,
don't
you?
How
does
he
get
there?
M:
Macy
walks
there
with
him
every
morning
unless
the
weather
is
bad.
When
it
rains,
they'll
drive.
W:
And
is
Ed
enjoying
kindergarten?
M:
Yeah,
he
loves
to
have
other
kids
to
play
with.
He
keeps
telling
us
things
they
do
together.
W:
What
do
the
teachers
at
the
kindergarten
say
about
him?
M:
They
said
he's
bright,
and
that
he's
starting
to
learn
how
to
tell
time.
Isn't
that
fantastic?
W:
That
is
fantastic.
It
sounds
like
everything
goes
well.

My
name
is
Emily.
I
had
been
a
dancer
for
quite
a
long
time.
I
started
studying
ballet
when
I
was
six
years
old.
By
the
time
I
was
nine,
I
was
dancing
five
days
a
week.
When
I
was
eighteen,
I
decided
that
I
really
preferred
contemporary
dance
and
that
I
wanted
to
do
it
professionally.
So
I
applied
successfully
for
the
training
program
at
the
school
of
Toronto
Dance
Theatre,
and
moved
to
Toronto
to
attend
the
program.
That
was
the
period
of
time
I
enjoyed
most
in
Toronto.
I
graduated
on
scholarship
and
danced
professionally
for
ten
years.
But
after
all
those
years,
I
found
that
dance
was
gradually
becoming
something
that
felt
like
more
of
a
burden
than
a
joy.
I
found
myself
increasingly
unwilling
to
drag
myself
to
dance
performances,
so
I
quit.
I
do
miss
dance
often.
But
it
makes
me
happy
to
think
that
I’ll
never
have
to
go
to
another
training
session
again.
