Write an informal email to one of your (foreign) friends / former classmates / pen pal about your new school life.
You may use some good expressions from the email / Unit 1, but don’t copy sentences from the email, otherwise you won’t get a high score.

write informal emails only to someone you are close to, like your friends and family;
use simple and informal expressions, like don’t, well;
use proper email format with a subject line, a greeting, questions to ask, information to give and end with a reason appropriately;
remember that you can use special punctuations like dashes (—) to show your feelings.

When you finish, edit your email in pairs according to Peer Editing Sheet on Page 90.
Is it an email to a family member or close friend?
Is the email written in a proper email format? For example, does it have a subject line, greetings, some questions, and also information provided?
Does it end with a reason appropriately?
Does the writer use simple and informal language?
→ Mark any spelling, punctuation or grammar errors.
→ Mark any unclear expressions. Give suggestions if you can.
→ Underline the expressions you like.

Recommend an email that you would like to share in the class.

☆ Point out the part that impresses you most;
☆ Make comments (give feedback) on this email;
☆ Find differences between your email and the others’;
☆ Ask the writer to introduce his / her writing process.
