I Analysis of the teaching materials
i Unit 4 How's the weather today?
Topic: weather.
Function: the students could talk about weather and then express preferences.
Structure: the question and answers about weather.
ii Lesson 24 a revision of Unit 4
Fun story: a story between a smart Kitty and a lazy monkey about different weather. The story intends to present the words and the target language :
How's the weather?
It's so hot!/It's so cold!
It's rainy!/ It's sunny!/ It's snowy!
Let's check: Check the words and languages by listening tasks.
Language Focus: Practice more by the words and languages in a more natural speaking environments.
iii Teaching aims and demands
Knowledge Objects: to make sure that the students could use the words and phrases in this part.
Ability Objects: to make students understand and express different kinds of weather.
Moral Objects: to make the students know more about the weather, and be willing to express preferences.
iv The key points: the words: hot, nice, rainy, snowy, warm, windy, cold, sunny
the sentences about weather:
How's the weather today?
It's so hot!/ It's so cold!
It's rainy!/ It's sunny!/ It's snowy!
v The difficult points: to train students to master the words and languages about weather, and express their preferences.
II Analysis of the students
The students of Grade Four have accumulated plenty of interests about English, and they are eager to learn more about the world through my English class.
They would like to join in the class activities actively, and they are willing to show themselves in class.

Imitate the original sentences
Make conversations
Task-based Teaching methods could improve the ability of listening, speaking and reading, and cultivate the willing of cooperation in study and research to make the students be the classroom-hosts.
IV Teaching procedures
i Revision(5 minutes)
1. Students sing the song How's the weather? with gestures following the teacher to review the words about weather.
2. Students play a game by teams. The teacher points at the specific pictures about different weather and the students say them out quickly.
ii Presentations (15 minutes)
1. Report world weather
Students show their previous schoolwork by teams and compete with others to improve the ability of searching and collecting information.
Listen and order the pictures
Students listen to the story and order the pictures to arouse students' interests and cultivate the whole understanding of the story.
3. Role-play
Students imitate and act the conversation exaggeratedly to understand the adverb 搒o.
iii Practice (8 minutes)
1. Find the differences
Students find the differences between two similar pictures and tell others in English like 揑t's sunny in picture 1. It's cloudy in picture 2. In picture 1, mum says : Put on your sweater. In picture 2, mun says: Put on your coat. ....
2. Listening
Students listen to the conversation and order the pictures.
Students make their own chant according to the pictures to cultivate divergent thinking and make the practice live.
iv Language use (7 minutes)
Students make their own Fun Stories and act in front of the whole class.
They can act rainy day by spraying water from holed bottle;
They can act hot day by using the fan at full tilt.
They can act snowy day by spreading paper pieces.
They can act cold day by rubbing hands together.
They can act windy day by trembling.
They can act sunny day by wearing sunglasses......
Students vote for the best performers, the best directors, the best props, the best pronunciation award.
v Assessment(2minutes)
The teacher evaluate the use of the languages of this class and the whole status of this unit;
The teacher evaluate students' activities and choose the best team and prise them humorously.
vi Extended activities(3minutes)
Homework A: Recite the words and the sentences in language Focus
Homework B: Retell the conversation
Homework C: Make up a new conversation according to Fun story
Homework D: Describe their postcard of different countries or different cities including the weather condition, the outdoor activities, and the suitable wearings.
V The reflection
About the resources:
I made a good use of the network to enlarge students' knowledge and make the students have a good understanding about the background of the story can motivate the students' interests and imagination.
About the valuation:
In order to improve the efficiency of study, I took many kinds of evaluation approaches, like evaluation between the teacher and the students, evaluation among the group, and evaluation between teams.
