Plastic bugs make whales die
Look at the picture. What are they in it? They are plastic bags. Where are the bags from? They are from a sperm whale's(抹香鲸的)stomach(胃)．
Carmelo is an expert at the University of Messina's Natural History Museum. He found the dead sperm whale on the afternoon of May 25th with the people from the museum. They wanted to find our why the whale died. To their surprise, the reason was plastic bags. Its stomach was full of them. The bags stopped food from coming.
It was not the first time for Carmelo to see so many plastic bags. In April, they also found a sperm whale on the beach. It was about seven years old. It was so young that its teeth hadn't come out yet. It died because there were too many plastic bags in its stomach.
