B
Children
who
eat
fish
once
a
week
sleep
better
and
have
higher
IQ
scores,
a
new
study
suggests.
Researchers
at
the
University
of
Pennsylvania
in
the
US
said
parents
should
consider
simply
changing
the
diets
of
youngsters
rather
than
pushing
them
to
go
to
bed.
Previous
studies
have
shown
that
the
omega?3
fatty
acids
found
in
fish
can
improve
intelligence
and
sleep,
and
that
better
sleep
improves
IQ.
But
it
is
the
first
time
that
all
three
have
been
linked
together.
The
scientists
believe
that
it
may
be
that
the
improved
sleep
produced
by
omega?3
is
what
is
raising
IQ
rather
than
the
fatty
acids
themselves.
“Doing_that
could
be
a
lot
easier
than
pushing
children
about
going
to
bed.
If
the
fish
improves
sleep,
that
is
great.
If
it
also
improves
cognitive
performance,
like
we've
seen
here,
that
is
even
better.
It's
a
double
hit,”
said
Professor
Adrian
Raine.
For
the
study,
the
researchers
asked
541
school
children
aged
between
nine
and
eleven
to
fill
in
surveys
about
how
much
fish
they
ate,
and
then
measured
their
IQ.
Their
parents
were
then
asked
about
the
quality
of
sleep.
The
team
found
that
children
who
reported
eating
fish
weekly
scored
4.8
points
higher
on
the
IQ
exams
than
those
who
said
they
seldom
or
never
consumed
fish.
Those
whose
meals
sometimes
included
fish
scored
3.3
points
higher.
In
addition,
increased
fish
consumption
was
associated
with
fewer
disturbances
of
sleep,
which
the
researchers
say
indicates
better
overall
sleep
quality.
The
researchers
recommend
starting
children
on
fish
by
at
least
the
age
of
two
then
gradually
adding
more
fish
into
the
diet
over
time.
Dr
Jennifer
Pinto?Martin
added,
“It
adds
to
the
growing
body
of
evidence
showing
that
fish
consumption
has
really
positive
health
benefits
and
should
be
something
more
heavily
advertised
and
promoted.
Children
should
be
introduced
to
it
early
on.
Introducing
the
taste
early
makes
it
more
palatable
(可口的).
It
really
has
to
be
a
concerted
(协调的)
effort,
especially
in
a
culture
where
fish
is
not
as
commonly
served
or
smelled.
Children
are
sensitive
to
smell.
If
they're
not
used
to
it,
they
may
shy
away
from
it.”
5.According
to
the
scientists,
what
improves
intelligence?
A.Acid.
B.Sleep.
C.Omega?3s.
D.Sleep
and
Omega?3s.
6.What
does
“Doing
that”
in
Paragraph
5
refer
to?
A.Doing
the
research.
B.Improving
intelligence.
C.Feeding
children
on
fish.
D.Improving
omega?3s
in
fish.
7.What
can
we
learn
from
the
study?
A.541
people
participated
in
the
surveys.
B.Eating
fish
helps
improve
children's
sleep
quality.
C.Eating
fish
benefits
children
aged
between
nine
and
eleven.
D.Those
eating
fish
occasionally
have
higher
IQ
than
those
eating
fish
weekly.
8.In
Dr
Jennifer
Pinto?Martin's
opinion,
children
should
consume
fish
as
________
as
possible.
A.little
B.much
C.early
D.often
C
On
a
day
in
Arkansas,
some
fishermen
saw
a
bear
cub
(幼兽)
in
a
tree.
As
hours
went
by,
its
mother
didn't
return.
So
they
called
wildlife
biologist
(生物学家)
Eastridge.
The
bear
cub
was
sick
and
hungry,
weighing
only
5
pounds
with
his
eyes
not
completely
open.
Eastridge
called
Lisa
Stewart,
who
works
at
Appalachian
Bear
Rescue
in
Tennessee.
Stewart
always
makes
room
for
a
new
cub.
She
named
the
bear
Miracle
because
she
thought
it
was
a
miracle
that
he
had
survived!
As
soon
as
she
could,
she
stopped
having
contact
with
the
cub
so
he
would
not
become
too
used
to
humans.
When
the
cub
arrived,
Stewart
cleaned
his
eyes
and
put
him
in
a
house
alone.
Since
Miracle
was
already
5
months
old,
Stewart
gave
him
bowls
of
food
and
another
bowl
of
a
special
formula
(配方奶),
similar
to
a
bear
mother's
milk.
Sometimes,
Miracle
would
reach
his
head
out
of
his
house
and
take
some
formula
or
food.
But
he
didn't
eat
too
much.
Miracle
was
too
weak
to
be
with
other
bears.
So
Stewart
gave
him
a
toy
bear
named
Buddy.
He
took
it
into
his
house
and
covered
it
with
straw
(稻草).
He
fed
Buddy,
too.
Stewart
often
found
the
toy
covered
in
formula
and
berries
and
its
ears
full
of
apple
chunks.
Now
that
Miracle
had
Buddy,
he
came
out
of
his
house
more
often
and
wanted
to
eat.
After
two
months,
Stewart
introduced
Miracle
to
other
bears
so
that
they
could
learn
from
one
another.
She
avoided
any
direct
contact
with
Miracle
and
the
other
bears.
Stewart
wanted
to
make
sure
they
stayed
afraid
of
humans
so
they
could
go
back
into
the
wild
again.
She
always
hid
behind
a
fence
(栅栏)
and
threw
food
over
the
top
secretly.
The
bears
hunted
for
this
food
as
they
would
soon
do
in
the
wild.
Five
months
later,
Rick
Eastridge
returned
to
pick
up
a
healthy
90?pound
Miracle
and
another
bear
from
Arkansas
named
Rocky.
Eastridge
loaded
the
bears
into
boxes
on
his
truck
and
transported
them
back
to
the
wild.
As
soon
as
the
bear
boxes
were
opened,
the
two
cubs
ran
to
the
woods—where
they
belonged.
9.A
toy
bear
was
given
to
Miracle
in
order
to
________.
A.remind
him
not
to
waste
his
food
B.kill
his
lonely
time
in
his
house
C.develop
his
skills
of
making
friends
D.rid
Miracle
of
his
fear
of
humans
10.Why
did
Stewart
always
give
food
to
Miracle
in
secret?
A.Because
he
could
learn
how
to
find
food
in
the
wild.
B.Because
he
was
too
weak
to
be
frightened
by
humans.
C.Because
a
good
relationship
could
be
developed.
D.Because
she
didn't
want
to
disturb
his
peaceful
life.
11.What
is
the
best
title
for
this
passage?
A.An
Unusual
Bear

of

Ⅱ.七选五
We
all
know
the
importance
of
curiosity,
and
here
are
some
tips
on
how
to
develop
it.
Keep
an
open
mind.
This
is
essential
if
you
are
to
have
a
curious
mind.
Be
open
to
learning,
unlearning,
and
relearning
things.
__1__
Therefore,
you
should
be
prepared
to
accept
this
possibility
and
change
your
mind.
__2__
Most
people
just
accept
the
world
as
it
is.
This
way,
they
will
certainly
lose
the
“holy
curiosity”.
Try
to
dig
deeper
beneath
the
surface
of
what
is
around
you.
A
sure
way
to
dig
deeper
beneath
the
surface
is
asking
questions.
What,
why,
when,
who,
where,
and
how
are
the
questions
curious
people
always
ask.
Don't
label
anything
as
boring.
Whenever
you
label
something
as
boring,
you
close
one
more
door
of
possibilities.
Curious
people
are
unlikely
to
consider
things
boring.
__3__
Even
if
they
don't
yet
have
time
to
explore
them,
they
will
leave
the
door
open
to
be
visited
another
time.
Take
learning
as
something
fun.
If
you
see
learning
as
a
burden,
there's
no
way
you
will
want
to
dig
deeper
into
anything.
That
will
just
make
the
burden
heavier.
However,
if
you
think
of
learning
as
something
fun,
you
will
naturally
want
to
dig
deeper.
__4__
Read
diverse
materials.
It
will
introduce
you
to
the
possibilities
and
excitement
of
other
worlds
which
may
attract
your
interest
in
exploring
further.
One
easy
way
to
do
this
is
through
reading
diverse
materials.
__5__
It'll
feed
your
mind
with
the
excitement
of
a
new
world.
A.Never
take
things
as
granted.
B.Don't
spend
too
much
time
on
just
one
world.
C.Try
to
pick
a
book
or
magazine
on
a
new
subject.
D.Some
things
you
know
and
believe
might
be
wrong.
E.It
doesn't
matter
that
you
don't
agree
to
others'
opinions.
F.Instead,
they
always
see
these
things
as
a
door
to
an
exciting
new
world.
G.So
look
at
life
through
the
glasses
of
fun
and
enjoy
the
learning
process.

believe
that
it
may
be
that
the
improved
sleep
produced
by
omega?3
is
what
is
raising
IQ
rather
than
the
fatty
acids
themselves.”可知,科学家们认为欧米伽?3脂肪酸使睡眠得以改善,改善后的睡眠提升了智力水平。
6.答案与解析:C 词义猜测题。该句与第二段“...parents
should
consider
simply
changing
the
diets
of
youngsters
rather
than
pushing
them
to
go
to
bed.”的意思一致,由此可以判断Doing
that指“给孩子吃鱼”。
7.答案与解析:B 推理判断题。根据第八段“In
addition,
increased
fish
consumption
was
associated
with
fewer
disturbances
of
sleep,
which
the

overall
sleep
quality.”可知,鱼的摄入改善了孩子们的睡眠质量。本题易误选A项。但从第六段可以看出,参加调查的除了541个孩子,还有他们的家长。
8.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。根据最后一段“Children
should
be
introduced
to
it
early
on.

was
too
weak
to
be
with
other
bears.
So
Stewart
gave
him
a
toy
bear
named
Buddy.可知,Miracle太虚弱了,不能和其他熊待在一起。于是Stewart给了它一只名叫Buddy的玩具熊来消磨寂寞的时间。
10.答案与解析:A 推理判断题。根据倒数第二段中She
always
hid
behind
a
fence
(栅栏)
and
threw
food
over
the
top
secretly.
The
bears
hunted
for
this
food
as
they
would
soon
do
in
the

11.答案与解析:C 主旨大意题。本文讲述了一只被母亲遗弃的小熊,小熊的身体很虚弱,在Stewart的照顾下,小熊被拯救了过来,并且重新回到了大自然。整篇文章是围绕着营救小熊Miracle展开的,故选C。
Ⅱ.七选五

it
is.
This
way,
they
will

the
“holy
curiosity”.可知,A项“不要把一切都想当然”符合语境。
3.答案与解析:F 根据上文的Curious
people
are
unlikely
to
consider
things
boring.可知,接下来会讲他们实际是怎么想的,故F项“相反,他们总是把这些事情看作通往一个令人兴奋的新世界的一扇门”符合语境。
4.答案与解析:G 由本段的主题句Take
learning
as
something
fun.以及接下来对将学习当作负担和将学习当作乐趣两种不同心态的对比可得出结论:因此透过快乐的眼镜来看生活,享受学习的过程。故选G项。抓住关键词fun和learning。
5.答案与解析:C 上文的One
easy
way
to
do
this

reading
diverse
materials中的关键信息为diverse
materials,C项刚好是对这一关键信息的进一步步解释。
Ⅲ.语法填空
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇说明文。主要介绍了中国的传统文化艺术之一——年画的用途、起源和分类,彰显了中国元素。
1.答案与解析:known 考查非谓语动词。be
known
as“作为……而知名”,故填known。
2.答案与解析:a 考查冠词。年画是中国民间文化中的一种独特的艺术形式。此处表示泛指,故填不定冠词。unique的发音是以辅音音素开头的,故用a。
3.答案与解析:mostly 考查副词。因为它们通常都在春节期间作为装饰画被张贴的。修饰谓语动词用副词。mostly“通常,多半,大部分”。
4.答案与解析:for 考查介词。此处表示目的,故用介词for。
5.答案与解析:appeared 考查动词的时态。年画大约起源于唐代,表示过去发生的动作,故使用一般过去时。
6.答案与解析:featuring 考查非谓语动词。代替先前的以神为特色的门画。分析句子结构可知,空处作定语修饰door
pictures。door
pictures与feature之间存在逻辑上的主谓关系,故填动词的?ing形式作定语,feature在此处是动词,意为“以……为特色”。
7.答案与解析:diverse 考查形容词。在本句的系表结构中,作表语的应是形容词。diverse“多种多样的”。
8.答案与解析:when 考查定语从句。年画在明清时期走向成熟,达到鼎盛。分析句子结构可知,空处引导定语从句,且从句中缺少时间状语,故填when。
9.答案与解析:methods 考查名词复数。从后文可知,年画的制作工艺有很多种,故填method的复数形式。
10.答案与解析:are 考查主谓一致和时态。木版年画最为盛行,也最有趣。由主语paintings可知,谓语动词应使用复数。且此处是对客观情况的陈述,应用一般现在时。

1.答案与解析:which/that 考查定语从句。此句中用关系代词which或者that替代先行词a
message在从句中做主语。
2.答案与解析:bases 考查名词的数。根据句意“两队人建立了他们的食物补给基地”可知,这里base应用复数形式。
3.答案与解析:darkness 考查名词。由空格前的冠词the和形容词total可知该空应用名词。
4.答案与解析:anxiously 考查副词。用副词anxiously修饰句子的谓语动词waited,表示“焦急地等待”。
5.答案与解析:pulling 考查非谓语动词。在with独立结构中,非谓语动词的形式与其前面的名词在逻辑上保持一致,这里dogs和pull
the
sledges之间是主动关系,所以用pulling。
6.答案与解析:had 考查时态。从该句的时间状语和并列谓语动词left可知应用过去时。
7.答案与解析:a 考查冠词和固定短语。短语as
a
result表示“结果,因此”。
8.答案与解析:themselves 考查代词。此处用反身代词表示Scott及队员“他们自己”推雪橇。

of“耗尽”。

【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文,描述了作者和她的丈夫所经历的一次龙卷风,龙卷风虽然只持续了四分钟,却让作者感觉像是一生那么长。
1.答案与解析:D 细节理解题。根据倒数第二段的“If
I
had
let
go,
Jimmy
would
have
flown
right
out
the
back
of
the
house
and
into
the
bay.
All
of
a

Jimmy

off
his
feet
like
people

tornadoes
do
in
the
movies.
I
thought
he
was
gone.
And
then
everything
stopped.”
可知,如果龙卷风没有及时停止的话,Jimmy就会被刮走。故选D。
2.答案与解析:A 细节理解题。根据第二段内容可知,C项内容是在他们靠近楼梯前发生的,所以首先排除;根据第三段中的“We
got
close
to
the
staircase
only
to
hear
the
loud
sound
of
our
garage
door
coming
off.
The
back
wall

outside.
By
the
time
I
reached

the

Jimmy
pushed
me

the

floor,
but
he
couldn't
get
inside
himself
because
of
the
wind.”可知,“我们”靠近楼梯时,只听到车库门掉了下来,紧接着就是后面的墙不知道被吹到了哪里。当“我”挣扎到小房间时,龙卷风已过境一分多钟了。吉米把“我”推了进来,自己却进不来。故选A。
3.答案与解析:B 推理判断题。根据作者对这次龙卷风的描述可知,这次大风非常令人恐惧,根据最后的
“Amazingly,
none
of
us
were
severely
injured.”可知,他们也很幸运,故选B。
4.答案与解析:D 标题归纳题。文章主要讲述了作者所经历的龙卷风虽然只持续了四分钟,但作者感觉犹如一生那么长。根据“The
tornado
lasted
four
minutes.
To
us,it
felt
like
a
lifetime.”可知,以The
Life?Long
4
Minutes作为标题最为贴切。故选D。
B
【语篇解读】 布拉德福德大学的研究者在英国的巨石阵附近发现了一个规模更大的巨石阵,该巨石阵的存在将会改变关于巨石阵描写的内容。

to
have
been
built
around
4,500
years
ago可知,超级巨石阵是在4
500年前建造的;而根据第二段第三句中的which
is
believed
to
have
been
completed
3,500
years
ago可知,巨石阵是3
500年前建造的;因此超级巨石阵早了1
000年。
6.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。根据第二段的“...is
the
largest
surviving
stone
monument...has
ever
been
discovered
in
Britain
and
possibly
in
Europe...”可知,C项与该意思相符。
7.答案与解析:B 词义猜测题。根据“Some
of
the
stones
are
thought
to
have
stood
15
feet
tall
before
they
were...”中的to
have
stood可知,该词的意思应该是“倒塌;使倒塌”的意思,所以选B项。
8.答案与解析:C 主旨大意题。根据文章第一段的“...may
have
had
a
brother.
A
much
bigger,
older
brother.”可知,该文章主要讲述的是巨石阵还有一个“大哥哥”的事情。
Ⅱ.七选五
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇说明文。主要说明触摸的力量以及在每个年龄段(婴儿、青少年、成人)所起的作用。

a
negative
way”“in
a
safe
and
affectionate
way”可知,这是说消极的触摸或积极的触摸,故选F。

of
touch”都与身体接触相关,而选项E中有“back

4.答案与解析:G 考查细节注释句。根据这一段的第二句“被抚摸的男人和女人都更快乐,更健康。”可知选项G中的“warm
hearts
and
heal
relationships”与这些有关,故答案选G项。
5.答案与解析:A 考查主旨概括句。根据前面的大标题“The
Power
of
a

the

of
a
caring
touch...”可知作者在这里总结和强调触摸的重要性。

When
I
was
in
college,
I
remember
hearing
about
a
book
titled
Looking
Out
for
Number
One.
I
never
read
the
book,
but
the
title
has
always
stuck
with
me.
I
think
it
was
because
the
title
turned_me_off.
I
hadn't
been
taught
to
be
so
selfish
that
I
should
focus
on
only
myself.
I
thought
I
needed
to
be
helping
others
and,
along
the
way,
I
would
also
be
helping
myself.
Now,
I
realise
I
should
have
at
least
considered
learning
more
about
looking
out
for
number
one.
Over
30
years
after
seeing
the
book
about
looking
out
for
number
one,
I'm
realising
number
one,
me,
is
the
person
I
should
be
concerned
about
first.
Jeffrey
Gitomer
asks
the
question,
“Who
is
the
most
important
person
in
the
world?”
Most
people
answer,
the
customer.
He
then
asks,
if
there
were
only
two
people
left
in
the
world,
the
customer
and
you,
who
would
you
want
to
survive?
Now
the
answer
is
me.
It
makes
sense
that
if
we
can't
help
ourselves
first,
we
will
never
be
prepared
to
help
others.
We
all
need
to
learn
to
control
our
lives
and
make
the
best
decisions
for
ourselves.
That
will
put
us
in
a
position
to
help
others
in
the
future.
But
many
of
us
are
slow
to
understand
this.
It
has
been
said
that
happiness
will
bring
success,
but
success
doesn't
always
bring
happiness.
We
all
want
to
be
happy
and
successful.
For
some
of
us
we
can
be
very
happy
when
our
basic
needs
are
met
and
our
family
are
safe.
Others
will
seek
for
high
levels
of
success
thinking
that
that
will
bring
happiness.
I'm
sure
we
can
think
of
a
person
who
is
very
successful,
according
to
the
world's
standards
(标准),
but
they
don't
appear
to
be
happy
at
all.
This
is
because
they
have
been
so
busy
working
for
somebody
else's
goals
that
they
haven't
considered
their
own
needs.

think
is
the
most
important
person
in
the
world
now?
A.Others.

Gitomer.
11.From
the
third
paragraph
we
can
learn
________.
A.we
should
help
others

of
ourselves
B.we
need
help
others
make
the

D.actually
few
of

understand
this
idea
earlier
12.Why
do
some
successful
people
not
feel
happy
at
all?
A.Because
they
don't
believe
success
always
brings
happiness.
B.Because
their
basic
needs
are
not
completely
met.
C.Because
they
seek
for

high
levels
of
success.

9.答案与解析:B 词义猜测题。根据后面句子的内容“从来没有人教过我要这么自私,只想着自己。我认为我需要帮助别人”可判断出此处的意思应该是“我认为是书名让我不喜欢它,讨厌它”。故答案为B。excited“兴奋的”,surprised“惊讶的”和pleased“高兴的”都不符合此语境。
10.答案与解析:B 细节理解题。根据第二段可知,见到这本有关先为自己着想的书已过去30多年了,“我”意识到,“我”自己是“我”应该首先担心的人,也是世界上最重要的人。故答案为B。注意此题问的是“现在作者认为谁是世界上最重要的人”,不要误解而选择其他选项。

seen 考查固定结构及动词的语态。句意:它的颜色有助于它在周围环境中消失,以避免被看到。avoid
doing
sth.避免做某事。it(the
cheetah)与see为被动关系,故填being
seen。
4.答案与解析:allows 考查时态及主谓一致。句意:它在短距离内的速度是动物世界中最快的,这使得它可以追逐自己的目标。根据前后文可知,本句应用一般现在时;本句主语为its
speed,故本空动词应用一般现在时的第三人称单数形式。
5.答案与解析:pulling 考查非谓语动词。句意:一旦猎物被杀死,猎豹就会把尸体拖到安全的地方,甚至会把尸体拖到树上,以防止其他捕食性动物偷走它。本句主语the
cheetah和动词pull之间为逻辑上的主动关系,故应用现在分词作状语。
6.答案与解析:it 考查代词。根据句意可知,本空应用代词it指代前面提到的the
carcass。
7.答案与解析:endangered 考查形容词。句意:然而,猎豹也是一种非常濒危的动物。本空修饰名词animal,故应用形容词endangered“濒临灭绝的”。
8.答案与解析:extinction 考查名词。句意:曾经发现猎豹遍布亚洲和非洲,如今正濒临灭绝。本空在介词toward后,故应用名词extinction“灭绝”。
9.答案与解析:In 考查固定短语。句意:此外,保护团体鼓励当地农民保护进入他们土地的猎豹。in
addition意为“另外,此外”,故本空应填介词In。
10.答案与解析:that/which 考查定语从句。本空引导定语从句,修饰cheetahs,在从句中作主语,故填that或which。Part

Londoners
are
great

large

which
are
still
cheap

They

“proper”

There
are
many
streets
in
London
containing
shops
which
specialize
in
book?selling.
Perhaps
the
best
known
of
these
is
Charing
Cross
Road
in
the
very
heart
of
London
Here
bookshops
of
all
sorts

sizes
are
to

any
other

Although
it
may

not
the

small

The

some

C.Charing

B
Paris
is
a
city
like
no
other,
and
much
of
this
has
to
do
with
its
beautiful
architecture.
But
yesterday,
Notre?Dame
cathedral,
one
of
its
most
iconic
(标志性的)
structures,
caught
fire
and
lasted
for
several
hours,
nearly
destroying
the
centuries?old
church
before
firefighters
were
able
to
put
out
the
fire.
The
tragedy
all
began
when
fire
alarms
rang
Monday
evening
as
people
rushed
past
the
Notre?Dame
cathedral
on
their
way
home.
Yet
upon
seeing
the
smoke
,
and
then
later
the
flames,
a
large
crowd
gathered
in
horror
as
it
watched
the
spire
of
the
famous
cathedral
collapse
as
the
fire
grew
in
size.
The
fire
at
Notre?Dame
started
in
or
near
the
spires
some
295
feet
from
the
ground.
According
to
Dunn,
a
fire
expert,
this
was
extremely
problematic
for
two
reasons.
“If
you've
ever
been
in
the
attic
of
a
church,
you'll
instantly
notice
it's
all
made
of
wood,
which
of
course
makes
it
ripe
for
a
fire
to
spread
quickly.
Second,
fire
hoses
(消防软管)
can
only
reach
a
maximum
height
of
fifty
feet,
making
the
spires
in
Notre?Dame
extremely
difficult
to
address.”
There
was
a
point
that
day
when
the
world
all
held
its
breath
as
the
fate
of
Notre?Dame
was
very
much
unclear.
Yet
Parisian
firefighters
succeeded
,
eventually
saving
the
entire
structure
from
total
destruction.
That
brings
us
to
the
difficult
but
important
discussion
of
what
to
do
moving
forward
with
the
countless
other
places
of
worship
around
the
world.
“If
centuries?old
places
of
worship
want
to
protect
their
buildings,
they
must
install
automatic
sprinklers
(自动喷水器),”
Dunn
argues.
“The
problem
is,
no
one
wants
to
do
that
because
it
could
deface
the
beautiful
interiors
(内部).
But
that's
really
the
only
way
they
can
ensure
their
structure
will
last
another
century.”
5.How
did
pedestrians
feel
when
they
saw
the
church
on
fire?
A.Puzzled.
B.Worried.
C.Upset.
D.Horrified.
6.What
do
we
know
about
the
fire
hoses?
A.They
have
no
water
in
them.
B.They
are
not
long
enough
to
reach
the
spire.
C.They
are
too
far
away
from
the
building.
D.There
is
something
wrong
with
them.
7.What
does
Dunn
suggest
in
the
last
paragraph?
A.Letting
people
realize
the
destruction
of
fires.
B.Discussing
what
to
do
to
protect
the
old
buildings.
C.Defacing
the
beautiful
interiors
of
these
old
buildings.
D.Having
automatic
sprinklers
installed
in
the
old
building.
C
Halloween
used
to
be
a
time
for
kids.
In
the
past,
the
festival
meant
houses
decorated
with
jack?o?lanterns,
cool
costumes
(化装服)
handmade
by
mums,
and
going
door
to
door
asking
for
candy,
saying
“trick
or
treat”.
However,
you
wouldn't
have
seen
any
of
these
if
you
were
at
this
year's
Halloween
events
in
Shibuya,
Tokyo,
from
Oct.
27
to
30.
Halloween
in
Japan
has
become
a
big
party
for
adults,
who
dress
up
in
costumes
and
hang
around
having
fun
taking
pictures.
In
other
words,
this
festival
is
no
longer
just
a
time
for
kids.
As
USA
Today
editor
Bruce
Horovitz
wrote,
“Adults
have
slowly
been
stealing
Halloween
from
kids.”
But
“steal”
is
not
quite
the
word,
since
the
adults
of
today
all
used
to
be
kids
themselves.
These
grown?ups
still
manage
to
keep
the
tradition
of
dressing
up
alive,
however,
even
if
they're
too
old
to
knock
on
strangers'
doors
for
candy
now.
Some
companies
even
encourage
their
employees
to
wear
costumes
to
work
so
they
can
relax
and
enjoy
their
share
of
the
festival
fun.
“You
can
wear
whatever
you
want
and
not
be
judged,”
Denise
Delahorne
of
DDB
Worldwide,
an
advertising
company,
told
Forbes
when
asked
why
adults
are
so
into
Halloween
compared
to
other
holidays.
“There's
no
pressure
(压力)
to
it.
You
don't
have
to
travel
or
deal
with
relatives.
There's
no
holiday
pressure
to
find
a
date
if
you
are
single.”
But
here
comes
the
interesting
part:
As
the
“adult
Halloween”
industry
gets
bigger
and
bigger,
movie
theatres,
drink
sellers
and
haunted
houses
are
starting
to
aim
(瞄准)
at
adult
customers
only.
There's
even
an
Halloween
trade
show
in
the
US
every
year
that
you
can't
even
enter
if
you're
under
16.
That
isn't
good
news
for
kids,
but
on
the
bright
side,
at
least
young
people
can
still
get
free
candy.
And
what
could
be
better
than
that?
8.Why
are
adults
so
fond
of
Halloween?
A.They
would
be
treated
like
kids.
B.They
don't
need
to
care
for
their
relatives.
C.They
feel
happy
and
relaxed
during
Halloween.

free
goods

the

Halloween”
industry.

We
are
told
that
“a
family
that
eats
together
stays
together”.
We
even
follow
it
by
making
the
whole
family
sit
in
front
of
the
television
while
eating,
right?
Wrong.
Television
does
nothing
to
help
make
the
family
relationships
better.
__1__
It's
thus
better
to
give
the
TV
a
break
and
to
sit
at
the
dinner
table.
Family
dinners
need
another
important
part—conversations
that
happen
in
a
pleasant
atmosphere.
It
often
serves
well
to
start
the
conversation
right
before
dinner
so
that
setting
the
table
and
doing
other
things
may
become
less
boring.
__2__
As
a
result,
there
are
no
embarrassing
moments
when
people
are
actually
eating.
Also,
you
can
change
the
topic
if
you
feel
that
it
might
start
arguments.
Children
aren't
usually
very
good
at
sharing
information
and
don't
know
how
to
reply
when
you
ask
them
questions
like
“How
was
your
school
today?”.
__3__
For
this,
you
can
ask
them
about
the
after?class
activities
that
they
might
be
taking
part
in.
__4__
Therefore,
all
controversial
(有争议的)
topics
should
not
be
talked
about.
Actually,
if
you
have
had
a
funny
incident
in
your
day
at
work,
share
it
with
others.
What's
more,
it
serves
well
if
you
share
your
childhood
memories
with
your
family.
__5__
In
a
word,
it
is
always
important
to
choose
the
right
topics
for
the
family
dinner
conversations.
A.Try
to
know
more
about
them
than
just
their
school
life.
B.It's
often
difficult
to
start
a
conversation
at
a
family
dinner.
C.But
try
to
keep
in
mind
some
family
dinner
conversation
ideas.
D.Doing
things
together
can
make
family
members
feel
interested.
E.In
fact,
it
only
increases
the
distance
between
members
of
the
family.
F.Conversations
during
dinnertime
should
encourage
family
members
to
eat
well.
G.They,
especially
your
kids,
will
feel
excited
to
hear
about
what
you
did
as
a
child.

Laurie
sat
quietly
in
the
empty
dressing
room
at
the
ice_rink
(溜冰场).
She
had
not
been
skating
in
any
competition
since
her_left_knee
was
badly
injured
in
an
accident
six
months
ago.
As
she
waited
for
her
turn
to
skate,
Laurie
was
very
nervous.
She
knew
that
today
was
a
very
important
day
in
her
comeback.
“If
I
can
win
today,”
she
thought,
“I
can
skate
in
the
World
Cup
next
year
and
then
maybe
I
can
make
it
to
the
Olympics.”
Laurie
was
just
told
that
she
had
a
tough
competitor
this
year,
a
girl
from
Connecticut
named
Jinny
who
was
really
strong
in
everything.
“She
is
the
one
who
you
have
to
beat
this
year,”
said
the
coach.
Minutes
later,
the
door
opened
and
Laurie
saw
a
young
woman
who
was
about
her
own
age.
The
young
woman
dumped
some
of
her
belongings
on
a
chair.
The
bag
fell
onto
the
floor
with
a
thud
(砰的一声).
Laurie
felt
uncomfortable
as
she
looked
at
Jinny.
“So
she
is
my
competitor,”
thought
Laurie.
“Because
of
her,
I
may
lose
tonight.”
“This
costume
(服装)
was
my
mom's
idea,”
Jinny
started
the
conversation,
looking
down
at
her
red,
white
and
blue
skating
dress.
“I
look
like
a
flag.”
Laurie
couldn't

【语篇解读】 伦敦人酷爱读书。本文介绍了在伦敦能买书的一些地方。
1.答案与解析:D 句意猜测题。根据文章大意及第一段中的“They
buy
large
numbers
of
newspapers,
magazines
and
books”可以推断出伦敦人喜欢阅读。故D项正确。
2.答案与解析:B 细节理解题。根据第二段中的一、二句“There
are
many
streets
in...in
the
very
heart
of
London.”可知B项正确。
3.答案与解析:B 词义猜测题。由下文语境可知,在伦敦东部沿街有很多书商把书放在手推车上卖,在那儿花几便士就能买到价值几英镑的书。也就是说要想买便宜的二手书,需要从繁忙的街道到僻静的地方,故B项正确。
4.答案与解析:A 主旨大意题。通读全文可知,文章主要讲述的是伦敦的书店,从出名的书店到街边小推车,故A项正确。
B
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇新闻报道。2019年4月15日,有数百年历史的法国巴黎圣母院突发大火。一场熊熊大火,烧毁了巴黎地标性建筑。
5.答案与解析:D 细节理解题。根据第一段的最后一句“...a
large
crowd
gathered
in
horror
as
it
watched
the
spire
of
the
famous
cathedral
collapse
as
the
fire
grew
in
size.”可知,路人看到大火感到恐惧。
6.答案与解析:B 细节理解题。根据第二段的最后一句“Second,
fire
hoses

a
maximum
height
of
fifty
feet,
making
the
spires
in
Notre?Dame
extremely
difficult
to
address.”可知,消防软管只能到达50英尺的高度,够不到塔尖。
7.答案与解析:D 细节理解题。根据最后一段中的“If

C
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇说明文。万圣节前夜在过去是孩子们的节日:打着南瓜灯,穿上母亲手缝的奇怪地服装去邻里间串门,讨要大包小包的糖果。但是这个节日现在在日本和美国却成了成人的节日,这样使得相应的行业兴盛起来。
8.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。根据第四段的“There's
no
pressure
to
it.You
don't
have
to
travel
or
deal
with
relatives.
There's
no
holiday
pressure
to
find
a
date
if
you
are
single.”可知,成人喜欢万圣节前夜是因为在节日期间他们感到很放松和高兴。故选C项。
9.答案与解析:B 词义猜测题。根据原文画线处语境可知,在万圣节前夜没有任何压力,没必要去旅行和招待亲戚等,所以it指的是万圣节前夜。故选B项。
10.答案与解析:A 细节理解题。根据第四段的Some
companies
even
encourage
their
employees
to
wear
costumes
to
work
so
they
can

11.答案与解析:D 主旨大意题。万圣节前夜在过去是孩子们的节日,他们打着南瓜灯,穿上母亲手缝的奇怪的服装去邻里间串门,讨要大包小包的糖果。但是现在在日本和美国却成了成人的节日,这样使得相应的行业兴盛起来。最佳标题要与adult有关。故选D项。
Ⅱ.七选五
【语篇解读】 本文讨论了如何在吃饭时改善家庭关系。
1.答案与解析:E 根据Television
does
nothing
to
help
make
the
family
relationships
better.可知,电视对改善家庭关系毫无帮助。E项(事实上,它只会增加家庭成员之间的距离。)承接上文。
2.答案与解析:D 根据It
often
serves
well
to
start
the
conversation
right
before
dinner
so
that
setting
the
table
and
doing
other
things
may
become
less
boring.可知,在晚餐前就开始谈话通常很有帮助,这样摆桌子和做其他事情就不会那么无聊了。D项(一起做事可以让家庭成员感到有兴趣。)承接上文。D项中的feel
interested和上文中的become
less
boring相吻合。
3.答案与解析:A 根据设空处后一句可知,对于这一点,你可以问他们有关他们可能参加的课外活动的问题。A项(试着多了解他们,而不仅仅是他们的学校生活。)切题。
4.答案与解析:F 根据Therefore,
all
controversial(有争议的)topics
should
not
be
talked
about.可知,所有有争议的话题都不应该被谈论。承接下文,F项(晚餐时间的谈话应该鼓励家庭成员吃得好。)切题。下文中的Therefore说明前后是一种因果关系,故答案为F。
5.答案与解析:G 根据What's
more,
it
serves
well
if
you
share
your
childhood
memories
with
your
family.可知,如果你和你的家人分享你的童年记忆,它会很有用。G项(他们,尤其是你的孩子们,听到你小时候的所作所为会感到兴奋。)承接上文。
Ⅲ.语法填空
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇说明文。气候变暖导致北极的冰加速融化,使北极熊的生存受到极大的威胁,科学家说只有当北极的冰融化得相当缓慢时,北极熊才能在地球上生存。
1.答案与解析:warmer 考查形容词比较级。句意:北极熊正在遭受一个比以往任何时候都温暖的世界。根据than判断此处应该使用形容词比较级,故填warmer。
2.答案与解析:frozen 考查形容词。句意:在一年的大部分时间里,它们在冰冻的北冰洋海冰上生活和捕猎。修饰名词Arctic
sea
ice应用形容词frozen,意为“冰封的”。
3.答案与解析:threatens/is
threatening 考查动词时态。此处讲述的是客观事实,也可以是正在进行的动作,所以用一般现在时或现在进行时,定语从句的先行词为the
danger,定语从句的谓语动词应该用第三人称单数,故填threatens或is
threatening。
4.答案与解析:conclusion 考查名词。句意:科学家们已经得出结论,北极熊的世界正在融化。draw
a
conclusion意为“得出结论”。
5.答案与解析:by 考查介词。句意:研究表明,自1978年以来,北极冰每十年减少9.8%。表示减少的幅度应用介词by。
6.答案与解析:survival 考查名词。句意:北极熊依靠海冰生存。本空作介词for的宾语,故应用名词survival,意为“生存”。
7.答案与解析:puts 考查动词时态。句意:正如研究北美北极熊数量的科学家Andrew
Derocher提出的,只有当北极冰融化得相当缓慢时,北极熊才能在地球上生存。由语境可知此处应用一般现在时,故填puts。
8.答案与解析:when 考查状语从句。句意:参考上题句意。根据句意可知,此处应填when。
9.答案与解析:to
hunt 考查动词不定式。句意:但在一个更加温暖的世界里,这些循环会加快,北极熊有更少的时间去捕猎。此处为不定式作后置定语。
10.答案与解析:actively 考查副词。句意:多余的脂肪会在以后使用,那时北极熊不积极捕猎。本空修饰hunting,故应用副词actively,意为“积极地”。

On

we
went

I
had
seen
the
London

times

When
I

I
was!
The

we

than
55
London's
most
famous
tourist
attractions
in
just

In
the
afternoon,
we
went
to
the

of
London.
The
Tower
of
London
is
one

famous

with
a

My

took

Such
a
tour
took
us
back
to
the

But
I
felt
a
bit
sad
when
traveling
around
it,
as
the
Tower
of
London
was
once
used
as
a
prison.
On
the
second

we

some
museums
in
London.
The

we

2.By

B.tried

C.watched

D.saw

3.Why
did
the
writer
feel
a

of
London?
A.Because
he/she
didn't

B.Because

to
keep
prisoners.
C.Because
the
prison

D.Because
it

4.The

________.
A.analyzing

B.making

C.comparing

D.following
the

B
How
much
sleep
do
we
need?
It's
a
fundamental
question
about
a
basic
human
function
we've
been
practicing
for
long,
but
there's
still
no
simple
answer.
But
whether
you're
a
morning
or
evening
person
could
be
guided
by
your
genes.
That
said,
your
sleeping
pattern
will
change
naturally
with
age,
which
is
also
reflected
in
the
National
Sleep
Foundation
recommendations:
it
suggests
14~17
hours
of
shuteye
a
day
for
newborn
babies
and
only
7~8
hours
for
over?65s.
But
scientists
said
it
was
about
more
than
simple
duration.
Teens
and
people
in
their
early
20s
do
want
to
go
to
bed
later
and
get
up
later
too,
something
researchers
suggest
might
be
to
do
with
changing
hormones
(荷尔蒙).
“On
average,
there's
about
a
two?hour
difference
in
preferred
sleep
times
of
somebody
in
their
late
teens
or
early
twenties
to
somebody
in
their
late
50s
or
early
60s,”
he
said.
“So
asking
a
teenager
to
get
up
at
7
o'clock
in
the
morning
is
the
equivalent
of
asking
a
55?year?old
to
get
up
at
five
in
the
morning.”
At
the
end
of
the
day,
the
best
way
to
measure
how
much
sleep
you
each
need
is
to
listen
to
your
own
body.
Do
you
rely
on
an
alarm
clock
to
wake
up?
Do
you
take
a
long
time
to
feel
awake?
Are
you
dependent
on
coffee
drinks
to
keep
you
focused
during
the
day?
Are
you
overly
impulsive
(冲动的)
or
do
you
find
yourself
running
a
lot
of
traffic
lights,
for
instance?
All
these
could
be
signs
that
you're
not
getting
enough
sleep.
And
that,_we
know
today,
is
bad.
The
environment
can
affect
your
sleep
preferences
but
your
genes
stay.
Scientists
said
that
the
understanding
of
the
importance
of
sleep
was
“one
of
the
great
achievements
of
modern
neuroscience
(神经科学),”
and
that
society
was
moving
away
from
the
all?nighter
culture
to
respect
the

for

5.What's
the

intention
of

the

report
his

results.

第二节 读后续写
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
In
1989,
fresh
out
of
high
school,
I
had
the
difficult
task
of
choosing
a
career_path
before
college
started
in
three
months.
In
those
days
in
Pakistan,
there
were
limited
choices:
becoming
a
doctor
or
an
engineer,
or
entering
the
financial
world
after
getting
a
business
degree.
I
wasn't
interested
in
engineering,
so
I
was
left
with
medicine
or
business.
I
couldn't
decide.
My
uncle
suggested
that
I
do
a
work
placement
(实习)
to
experience
it
for
a
month
in
an
international
company
followed
by
a
month
in
a
hospital.
After
that,
I
could

It
seemed
like
a
good
idea.
I
was
accepted
for
a
month's
placement
at
a

in
Karachi.
I
got
a

for
how
the

of

functioned,
made
new

and
generally
enjoyed
the
mostly

The
month
passed
rapidly,
and
soon
I
began
working
at
a
leading
hospital
in
Karachi.
The
experience
couldn't
have
been
more
different.
The
hospital
had
a
stressful
environment.
The
days
started
early
(at
7
am,
compared
to
9
am
at
the
bank),
and
were
filled
with
endless
duties.
And
the
night
calls!
This
was
crazy,
working
all
day,
through
the
night,
and
again
the
next
day.
I
began
thinking
about
my
two
experiences.
The
bank
had
offered
a
more
relaxing
atmosphere,
better
working
hours
and
less
stress.
The
hospital
was
full
of
excitement,_but
the
studying
and
training
was
difficult.
It
seemed
that
the
business
choice
was
going
to
win
out.
Near
the
end
of
my
month
at
the
hospital.
I
was
driving_home
after
an
especially
busy
night
call.
In
front
of
me
was
a
public
bus,_with
college
students
sitting
on
the
top.
As
the
driver
weaved
through
(穿梭)
traffic,
I
could
see
the
boys
shaking
from
side
to
side.

Lemurs
(狐猴)
are
cute
animals
that
live
on
the
island
of
Madagascar,
the
fourth?largest
island
in
the
world.
Lemurs
have
big
eyes,
long
noses,
and
long
tails
(except
for
the
Indri)
and
live
high
in
the
trees
of
Madagascan
forests.
Lemurs
are
quite
intelligent.
They
are
the
cousins
of
monkeys
and
look
quite
similar
to
monkeys.
They
also
swing
through
trees
and
live
in
family
groups.
There
are
different
species
of
lemurs.
Some
lemurs
(the
Indri)
sing
like
a
whale,
and
some
(the
Sifaka)
walk
like
a
ballet
dancer.
Some
lemurs
are
very
small,
like
the
Pygmy
Mouse
Lemur
which
weighs
only
25—30
grams.
Others,
like
the
Indri,
can
weigh
up
to
ten
kilograms.
Some
lemurs
are
nocturnal,_being
awake
at
night
and
sleeping
during
the
day,
and
some
are
not
nocturnal
but
diurnal.
Generally,
the
smaller
lemurs
are
nocturnal,
while
the
bigger
ones
are
diurnal.
All
the
species
are
unique
to
Madagascar.
However,
all
of
the
lemurs
are
endangered
species.
Many
species
have
already
disappeared
in
the
last
few
centuries.
There
are
not
many
lemurs
left.
People
in
Madagascar
have
been
destroying
the
forests
where
lemurs
live.
Local
people
also
hunt
lemurs
for
food.
Some
of
the
local
people
see
lemurs
as
bringers
of
bad
luck,
so
they
kill
lemurs.
At
the
moment,
there
are
about
85
lemur
species
left.
But
many
people
fear
that
the
number
of
species
will
fall
sharply.
Soon
there
may
be
no
lemurs
left
if
we
do
not
take
measures
to
protect
them.
1.What
are
lemurs
like
a

human
beings

to

In
the
depths
of
the
French
Guianese
rainforest,
there
still
remain
unusual
groups
of
indigenous
(土著的)
people.
Surprisingly,
these
people
live
largely
by
their
own
laws
and
their
own
social
customs.
And
yet,
people
in
this
area
are
in
fact
French
citizens
because
it
has
been
a
colony
of
the
French
Republic
since
1946.
In
theory,
they
should
live
by
the
French
law.
However,
their
remote
locations
mean
that
the
French
law
is
often
ignored
or
unknown,
thus
making
them
into
an
interesting
area
of
“lawlessness”
in
the
world.
The
lives
of
these
people
have
finally
been
recorded
thanks
to
the
efforts
of
a
Frenchman
from
Paris
called
Gin.
Gin
spent
five
months
in
early
2015
exploring
the
most
remote
corners
of
this
area,
which
sits
on
the
edge
of
the
Amazon
rainforest,
with
half
its
population
of
only
250,000
living
in
its
capital,
Cayenne.
“I
have
a
special
love
for
the
French
Guianese
people.
I
have
worked
there
on
and
off
for
almost
ten
years,”
says
Gin.
“I've
been
able
to
keep
firm
friendships
with
them.
Thus
I
have
been
allowed
to
gain
access
to
their
living
environment.
I
don't
see
it
as
a
lawless
land.
But
rather
I
see
it
as
an
area
of
freedom.”
“I
want
to
show
the
audience
a
photographic
record
touching
upon
the
uncivilized
life,”
continues
Gin.
“I
prefer
to
work
in
black
and
white,
which
allows
me
to
show
different
specific
worlds
more
clearly.”
His
black?and?white
pictures
present
a
world
almost
lost
in
time.
These
pictures
show
people
seemingly
pushed
into
a
world
that
they
were
unprepared
for.
These
local
citizens
now
have
to
balance
their
traditional
self?supporting
hunting
lifestyle
with
the
lifestyle
offered
by
the
modern
French
Republic,
which
brings
with
it
not
only
necessary
state
welfare,
but
also
alcoholism,
betrayal
and
even
suicide.
5.Why
does
the
author
feel
surprised
about
the
indigenous
people
in
French
Guiana?
A.They
seldom
follow
the
French
law.
B.They
often
ignore
the
Guianese
law.
C.They
are
separated
from
the
modern
world.
D.They
are
both
Guianese
and
French
citizens.
6.What
does
Gin
introduce
the
special
world
of
the
indigenous
Guianese
as?
A.A
tour
guide.
B.A
geographer.
C.A
film
director.
D.A
photographer.
7.What
is
Gin's
attitude
towards
the
lives
of
the
indigenous
Guianese?
A.Cautious.
B.Doubtful.
C.Uninterested.
D.Appreciative.
8.What
does
the
underlined
word
“it”
in
the
last
paragraph
refer
to?
A.The
modern
French
lifestyle.
B.The
self?supporting
hunting.
C.The

He
was
there
every
morning,
sitting
motionless
on
the
front
steps
of
his
house.
In
the
morning
light,
I
could
see
the
shadows
that
were
etched
(蚀刻)
deep
within
the
lines
surrounding
his
eyes.
Each
morning
I
walked
this
route
with
my
daughter
to
her
kindergarten.
We
were
new
to
the
neighborhood
so
that
I
didn't
know
many
of
my
neighbors.
On
one
beautiful
autumn
morning,
as
we
passed
his
house,
my
daughter
called
out
to
him,
“Hi,
Mr.
Man!”
Always
the
outgoing
child,
I
wasn't
surprised
at
her
enthusiasm.
But
her
cheerfulness
soon
faded
when
the
man
didn't
look
at
her
and
say
“Hi”
back.
As
we
continued
on
our
walk
to
school,
my
daughter
asked
why
the
man
didn't
want
to
say
hi
to
her.
Because
I
didn't
have
an
answer,
I
said
simply,
“Maybe
he
is
having
a
bad
day.”
Later
I
knew
that
Bob
lost
his
wife
in
a
car
accident.
A
few
days
later,
as
we
approached
Bob's
house
on
our
way
to
school,
my
daughter
called
out
“Hi,
Mr.
Man!”
and
as
usual,
he
didn't
respond.
But
then
she
ran
onto
his
front
lawn
and
picked
up
a
beautiful
red
autumn
leaf.
She
continued
up
one
step
and
handed
it
to
him.
I
held
my
breath.
As
she
skipped
back
to
me,
she
said,
“See
you
tomorrow,
Mr.
Man!”
This
time,
he
acknowledged
her.
In
a
soft
gentle
voice,
he
thanked
her
and
said,
“See
you
tomorrow.”
From
then
on,
Bob
and
my
daughter
exchanged
greetings
each
morning.
Our
friendship
with
Bob
continued
for
many
years.
But,
the
sweetest
day
was
when
Bob
attended
my
daughter's
high
school
graduation.
Bob
gave
my
daughter
a
gift—a
book
on
identifying
various
plants
and
trees.
There,
tucked
(收藏)
in
the
pages
that
described
an
oak
tree,
was
the
leaf
my
daughter
had
given
to
Mr.
Man
when
they
first
met.
He
had
dried
and
pressed
it
and
kept
it
all
those
years.

the
girl?

of
the

sadness.

in
the
man's
eyes.

man's
sitting
still
on
the
steps.
D.The
man's

leaf

enthusiasm.

was
a

of
his
painful

With
time
going
on,
dogs
have
developed
a
special
relationship
with
people.
Recently,
however,
some
dogs
have
taken
a
different
role
in
people's

dogs.
__1__
Some
therapy
dogs
visit
patients
in
hospitals
or
nursing
homes,
while
others
visit
children
in
schools
and
libraries.
They
are
there
to
help
children
become
better
readers.
Reading
programs
that
use
therapy
dogs
have
been
in
existence
for
more
than
ten
years.
All
therapy
dogs
of
these
programs
are
registered
with
an
organization
that
tests
the
dogs
to
make
sure
they
have
the
right
personality
for
the
job.
__2__
Both
the
dogs
and
the
handlers
are
volunteers
with
the
reading
program.
At
the
start
of
a
reading
therapy
session,
a
child
and
a
dog
are
introduced.
The
pair
are
allowed
to
settle
down
in
a
quiet
corner
together.
__3__
An
adult
handler
stays
nearby
but
generally
lets
the
dog
perform
its
job
without
being
interrupted.
Sometimes,
a
handler
may
ask
a
question
that
encourages
the
child
to
work
with
the
dog
to
help
the
child
feel
more
comfortable.
Not
every
child
will
be
able
to
be
part
of
a
reading
therapy
program
that
uses
dogs.
A
few
children
might
be
allergic
to
dogs
or
afraid
of
them;
some
children
might
have
cultural
traditions
that
prevent
them
from
touching
a
dog.
__4__
Reading
therapy
programs
inspire
people
to
learn
and
change.
The
readers
benefit
a
lot,
gaining
confidence
and
learning
that
reading
aloud
can
be
a
relaxing
experience.
__5__
They
spend
time
with
human
friends.
For
dogs
that
love
human
companionship
and
a
quiet
place
to
rest,
being
part
of
a
reading
therapy
program
can
be
a
great
way
to
spend
a
few
hours
being
with
humans
each
day.
A.But
how
do
the
therapy
dogs
benefit
from
it?
B.But
therapy
animals
also
serve
in
many
other
areas.
C.As
the
child
reads,
the
dog
usually
lies
quietly
and
listens.
D.When
reading
to
an
animal,
some
children
may
become
relaxed
.
E.In
these
circumstances,
other
animals
are
available,
such
as
cats
and
parrots.
F.A
therapy
dog
is
more
of
a
companion
and
is
trained
to
help
people
in
different
ways.
G.A
dog's
handler
also
takes
a
class
and
must
pass
a
test
to
work
in
the
therapy
program.

【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文。在法属圭亚那地区的热带雨林深处居住着一群土著居民。他们虽然是法国公民,却按照自己的方式生活。一位摄影师的照片使这群土著居民进入公众视野,也使他们逐渐受到现代的法国生活方式的影响。

7.答案与解析:D 推理判断题。通读第三段可知,Gin对这群土著居民有特殊的爱,他们之间有深厚的友谊。Gin认为这是一个自由的地区。由这些描述可知,Gin欣赏这群土著居民的生活方式,故appreciative(欣赏的)正确。cautious谨慎的;doubtful怀疑的;uninterested不感兴趣的。
8.答案与解析:A 词义猜测题。最后一句话的意思是:这些当地居民现在不得不兼顾他们传统的自给自足的狩猎生活方式和现代的法兰西共和国提供给他们的生活方式,伴随这种生活方式的不仅有必不可少的国家福利,还有酗酒、背叛,甚至自杀。由此可知,it指代的是现代的法国的生活方式。
