答案:A

Getting
paid
to
talk
about
the
World
Cup
is
a
great
job.
I’m
not
a
football
commentator(评论员),
though—just
an
English
teacher
in
Japan.
I
came
to
Japan
two
years
ago,
and
didn’t
think
I
would
stay,
but
Japan
has
that
effect
on
you.
People
all
end
up
living
here
longer
than
they
planned.
I
think
it’s
best
to
teach
in
a
bigger
city
where
there
are
other
foreigners
to
mix
with,
rather
than
a
small
town
where
English
teachers
often
complain
of
feeling
like
a
goldfish
in
a
bowl.
Many
people
choose
to
live
in
Tokyo,
of
course,
which
is
good
for
the
nightlife
factor.
But
I’d
say
that
for
general
quality
of
living,
cities
of
neither
too
large
nor
too
small,
like
Sapporo
where
I
live,
are
better
choices.
I
teach
English
privately,
which
means
I’m
my
own
boss.
If
you
want
to
devote
yourself
to
private
teaching,
it’s
well
worth
doing
a
TEFL
course
first,
because
your
lessons
will
be
much
better
for
it.
The
problem
with
private
teaching
is
finding
students;
it
took
me
a
year
to
build
up
a
full
schedule
of
private
lessons,
so
I
started
out
teaching
in
schools
part-time.
Most
of
my
foreign
friends
here
work
full-time
for
big
English
conversation
schools.
The
salary
is
fine
to
live
on.
But
whether
you
can
save
money
depends
on
how
much
going
out
and
travelling
you
do
here.
The
schools
are
reluctant
to
take
time
off—even
teachers
with
tickets
for
the
England-Argentina
game
had
trouble
getting
the
day
off.
4.
From
the

we

in
Japan
the

    .?
A.

C.
a
city
of
middle
size
D.
a
big
city
解析:细节理解题。根据第二段“But

Consider
the
tomato:
easy
to
grow,
healthy
to
eat,
tasty
in
just
about
any
recipe
and
pleasant
to
look
at.
And
come
in
late
summer,
in
a
steady
supply.
Though
you
can
find
it
during
the
coldest
winter
months,
August
is
the
tomato’s
season
to
shine.
Farmers’
markets
and
grocery
stores
are
bursting
with
lesser-known
but
arguably
tastier
varieties,
including
purple
cherries
and
big
heirlooms.
“Heirlooms
ripened
on
the
vine(藤)
are
the
tastiest
of
all
tomatoes,”
says
Amy
Goldman
Fowler,
author
of
The
Heirloom
Tomato.

their
beauty

more
than
skin-deep.”
Heirloom
seeds
have
been
around
for
at
least
50
years,

passed
down
from
generation

generation.
You
may
hear
a
cherry
or
heirloom
used
to
describe
a
tomato
at
hand,
but

many
different
kinds
of
tomatoes,
and
growers
have
fun
giving
catchy
names
to
varieties:
Mortgage
Lifters,
Beefsteaks,
Oxhearts,
Early
Girls.
And
all
of
them
come
with
health
benefits.
Tomatoes
are
a
good
source
of
the
antioxidant
lycopene
(抗氧化番茄红素),
which
is
thought
to
help
lower
a
person’s
risk
for
heart
problems
and
cancer.
Tomatoes
also
contain
healthy
vitamins(维生素)
A
and
C.
For
the
best
fruit

fruit,
not
vegetables),
choose
tomatoes
with
shiny,
firm
skin
and
a
little
give,
and
store
them
at
room
temperature
away
from
direct
sunlight.
Keep
them
out
of
the
fridge,
since
cold
temperatures
can
affect
the
original
taste.
“They
satisfy
something
more
than
just
taste,”
says
Fowler.
“Tomatoes
feed
your
soul.”

Everyone
likes
living
in
a
clean
and
comfortable
environment.
If
the
environment
is
bad,
it
will
affect
our
body,
and
make
us
not
feel
well.
Sometimes
we
may
be
terribly
ill.
At
that
time
we
don’t
want
to
work,
and
we
have
to
stay
in
bed
and
rest
at
home.
So
the
environment
is
very
important
to
us.
It’s
germs
that
make
us
ill.
There
are
germs
everywhere.
They
are
very
small
and
you
can’t
find
them
with
your
own
eyes,
but
you
can
see
them
with
a
microscope.
They
are
very
small
and
there
may
be
hundreds
of
them
on
a
very
small
thing.
Germs
can
always
be
found
in
dirty
water.
When
we
look
at
dirty
water
under
the
microscope,
we
shall
see
them
in
it.
Germs
can
also
be
found
in
air
and
dust.
If
you
cut
your
finger,
some
of
the
dust
from
the
floor
may
go
into
it,
and
you
will
have
much
pain
in
it.
Sometimes
the
germs
will
go
into
all
of
your
body,
and
you
will
have
pain
everywhere.
To
keep
us
healthy,
we
should
try
our
best
to
make
our
environment
become
cleaner
and
tidier.
This
needs
us
to
act
together.
12.
What
does
the
writer
tell
us?
A.
We
like
working
when
we
are
ill.
B.
We
feel
well
when
the
environment
is
good.
C.
We
can’t
feel
ill
if
the
environment
is
bad.
D.
Germs
can’t
live
in
the
water.
解析:推理判断题。由第一段“If
the
environment
is
bad,
it
will
affect
our
body,
and
make
us
not
feel
well.”可知,如果环境不好,它会影响我们的身体,使我们感觉不舒服。反之,当环境好的时候我们感觉很好,故选B。

things
that
you
can

affect

are
very
small

you
can’t
find

your
own
eyes,

to
improve
our

C.
Germs

make
us
ill.

Five
Tips
for
Safe
Running
We
all
know
that
exercise
is
good
for
our
health.
But
some
kinds
of
exercise
may
be
better
than
others.
Running,
for
example,
may
help
to
protect
against
heart
disease
and
other
health
problems.
Running
is
good
exercise,
but
it
can
be
hard
on
the
body.
 16 ?
Take
it
easy.
Do
not
run
too
much,
too
soon
or
too
fast.
Most
people
get
running
injuries
when
they
push
themselves
too
hard.
The
body
needs
time
to
get
used
to
increases
in
distance
or
speed.
 17 ?
Listen
to
your
body.
Most
running
injuries
do
not
come
unexpectedly.
 18
They
may
include
body
aches,
sore
muscles(肌肉酸痛)
and
pain
that
does
not
go
away.?
 19
There
is
no
single
best
shoe
for
every
runner.
You
should
find
the
shoes
that
offer
the
best
fit
and
support
for
your
feet.
More
importantly,
you
should
replace
your
shoes
every
500
to
800
kilometres.?
Take
good
notes.
Take
time
after
each
run
to
write
down
what
you
did
and
how
you
felt.
Look
for
patterns,
things
that
happen
over
and
over
again.
These
notes
will
help
you
find
the
best
exercise
for
you.
Cross
training.
As
we
said
earlier,
running
is
hard
on
your
body.
So
physical
fitness
experts
suggest
some
form
of
cross
training
to
improve
muscle
balance
and
to
help
you
stay
injury
free.
They
say
swimming,
yoga,
and
riding
a
bicycle
are
good
sports
to
combine
with
running.
 20 ?
A.
Get
good
running
shoes.
B.
Usually,
there
are
warning
signs.
C.
Running
may
also
help
you
live
longer.
D.
These
sports
are
easier
on
the
body.

Muscles
and
joints(关节)
need
time
to
recover.

“Just
do
it.”

are
five
ideas
to
reduce
the

答案:
It
is
clear
that
health
is
the
foundation
of
one’s
future
success.
If
you
become
sick,
it
is
scarcely
possible
to
pursue
your
career
effectively,
much
less
to
make
your
dreams
come
true.
On
the
other
hand,
if
you
are
strong,
you
can
go
all
out
to
overcome
the
obstacles
that
lie
ahead
of
you.
What
should
we
do
to
maintain
our
health?
First,
we
should
exercise
every
day
to
strengthen
our
muscles.
Second,
we
might
keep
good
hours
as
well.
Third,
we
should
have
a
healthy
and
balanced
diet,
avoiding
eating
food
high
in
fat,
preferring
instead
to
eat
fresh
vegetables
and
fruit
which
are
rich
in
vitamins.
In
conclusion,
keeping
fit
enables
us
to
adopt
a
positive
attitude
to
life.
If
you
want
your
wish
to
come
true,
health
is
the
most
important
component
of
your
success.

The
Voice
of
Rigo
Rigo
had
a
loud
voice.
People
were
always
telling
Rigo
to
be
quiet.
His
mother
would
tell
him
to
use
his
quiet
voice
inside
the
house
because
the
baby
was
asleep.
His
father
would
ask
him
to
speak
quietly
in
the
car
so
that
he
could
concentrate
on
his
driving.
His
teacher
would
tell
him
to
talk
quietly
so
he
would
not
bother
others
who
were
studying.?
Not
only
did
he
have
a
loud
voice,
but
Rigo
liked
to
talk
a
lot.
Whenever
he
had
time,
he
would
talk
with
his
classmates,
sharing
everything
he
considered
fun.
He
liked
to
yell
and
shout.
Sometimes
he
just
yelled,
“Hey!”
for
no
reason.
He
liked
the
sound
of
his
very
loud
voice
for
he
thought
it
had
more
penetrating(穿透的)
power
than
that
of
an
actor.
But
not
everyone
felt
the
same
way.?
When
Rigo
shouted
goodbye
as
he
left
for
school,
his
mother
shook
her
head,
“Rigo!
Be
quiet!”
When
his
father
drove
him
to
school,
Rigo
said,
“Hey!
There’s
Chris!”
He
pointed
at
his
friend,
who
was
walking
to
school.
His
father
shook
his
head.
“Rigo,
use
a
quiet
voice
in
the
car.”
At
school,
his
teacher
talked
to
him
three
times
about
using
his
quiet
voice.
His
classmates
shook
their
heads,
throwing
an
upset
look
at
him
when
he
talked
aloud.
Later,
Rigo
had
to
sit
by
himself
for
a
while.
His
teacher
wanted
him
to
practise
being
quiet.
Rigo
had
to
sit
quietly
for
five
minutes.
It
felt
like
five
hours
or
five
days.
When
the
five
minutes
was
up,
Rigo
went
to
his
desk
and
sat
quietly.
It
was
not
easy.
After
school,
Rigo
was
waiting
for
his
father
when
he
saw
Chris
again.
“Hey!”
he
yelled.
“Chris!
Hey!”
The
headmaster
was
walking
by.
Rigo
was
sure
he
was
going
to
get
in
trouble
for
his
loud
voice.
He
looked
quickly
at
the
ground.
Maybe
the
headmaster
would
keep
walking.?

答案:
Paragraph
1:
The
headmaster
stopped
and
looked
at
Rigo.
He
waited
at
the
roadside
until
Rigo
raised
his
head.
Confusingly,
it
seemed
as
if
the
headmaster
had
found
a
great
treasure.
Rigo
twisted
uneasily.
“Do
you
like
acting?”asked
the
headmaster.
“I’ve
never
seen
an
actor
who
speaks
louder
than
you.
You’re
sure
to
become
an
extraordinary
actor.”
“Me?
An
extraordinary
actor?”
Rigo
couldn’t
believe
his
ears.
“Yes,
you,”
the
headmaster
said.
“A
good
actor
must
be
able
to
speak
aloud
on
the
stage
to
make
himself
heard
by
every
one
of
his
audience.
You
can
do
that!”
At
that
moment,
Rigo
saw
his
father.
“By
the
way,
a
good
actor
knows
he
should
use
his
quiet
voice
off
the
stage,”
added
the
headmaster.?
Paragraph
2:
He
said
goodbye
to
the
headmaster
and
ran
to
get
in
his
father’s
car
cheerfully.
“Dad,
the
headmaster
said
I
was
going
to
become
an
extraordinary
actor!”
he
yelled
proudly.
The
next
second,
he
seemed
to
remember
what
the
headmaster
had
told
him,
and
lowered
his
voice,
“Yes,
I
know
when
to
speak
at
a
loud
voice.”
His
father
was
surprised
at
his
change.
Rigo
then
told
him
what
happened
just
now
and
promised
he
would
practise
speaking
quietly.
Pleased,
his
father
smiled,
“Yes,
you’re
to
become
an
extraordinary
actor,
for
yourself,
and
for
the
headmaster.”?

to
give
up
the
food
you
love
or
join
a
gym.
You
just
follow
some
habits
that
thin
people
have.
Keep
them,
and
you’ll
become
thin.
◆Wake
up When
you
wake
up
in
the
morning,
sit
up
slowly
without
using
your
hands.
With
legs
straight
out,
lean
forward(前俯)
until
you
feel
sore(酸痛的)
in
your
back.
It
will
use
up
10
calories.
◆Start
with
soup Order
a
clear
soup,
and
have
it
before
the
main
food.
In
this
way,
you’ll
feel
fuller,
so
you’ll
eat
less
when
the
main
food
comes.
◆An
apple
or
more
a
day Apples
are
full
of
fiber(纤维)
and
water,
so
your
stomach
will
want
less.
Studies
show
that
people
who
eat
at
least
three
apples
or
pears
a
day
may
lose
weight.
◆Talk
it
up Every
time
you
use
the
cell
phone,
stand
up
and
walk
around.
Heavy
people
sit
on
average
two
and
a
half
hours
more
each
day
than
thin
people.
This
skill
is
very
important
as
standing
up
and
walking
around
will
burn
up
50
or
more
calories.
Use
these
skills,
and
you
will
have
a
big
weight
loss.

Recently,
I
was
asked
to
go
to
my
students’
cross-country(越野赛)
meet.
At
first,
I
did
not
know
if
I
should
go
because
honestly,
I
am
not
the
biggest
sports
fan
of
any
kind.
However,
I
would
never
regret
going
there
after
I
watched
it.
Although
many
people
don’t
consider
cross-country
a
sport,
I
disagree.
Cross-country
beginners
have
to
work
out
and
exercise
just
like
you
do
for
any
other
sport.
They
run
for
hours
and
miles.
In
fact,
many
sports
consider
running
as
their
punishment
for
bad
behaviour(行为),
but
I
wonder
what
the
coach
would
do
to
punish
a
cross-country
beginner.
Honestly,
I
never
knew
how
much
fun
I
would
have
watching
many
kids
run
for
fun.
They
kept
running
no
matter
how
tired
they
were.
The
public
would
not
only
just
cheer
for
the
runners
they
know
but
also
cheer
for
all
runners,
fast
and
slow.
When
the
students
heard
you
cheering
them
on,
or
even
just
clapping(鼓掌)
to
encourage
them,
they
would
start
sprinting
and
try
their
best
to
cross
the
finish
line.
My
students
did
a
wonderful
job
and
I
took
many
pictures
of
them.
When
they
found
that
someone
from
their
school
came
to
see
them,
they
were
very
excited.
Cross-country
is
actually
pretty
great
and
I
definitely
want
to
support
cross-country
later
in
my
teaching
career.
What
I
will
do
next
is
to
go
to
the
meets
with
my
students.
5.
We
can
learn
from
the
second
paragraph
that
cross-country
beginners
    .?
A.
often
exercise
for
a
short
time
at
first
B.
need
to
train
hard
through
running
C.
will
not
be
punished
because
of
bad
behaviour
D.
never
exercise
mile
after
mile
解析:推理判断题。根据文章第二段的主要内容可知,跑步也需要训练,故答案为B。
答案:B
6.

the

break.
B.
Becoming
shy.
C.
Running
as
fast
as
possible.
D.
Shouting
as
loudly
as
possible.
解析:词义猜测题。根据提示“观众鼓掌”“他们竭尽全力跑向终点线”可知答案为C。
答案:C
7.
How
will
the
author
support
cross-country?
A.
By
cheering
on
the
runners.
B.
By
guiding
the
runners.
C.
By
attending
the
meets.
D.
By
running
along
with
the
runners.

After
Jack

Everyone
loves
to
jump
into
the
cool
water
of
a
swimming
pool
to

the
summer
heat.
Swimming
is
also
one
of
the
best
ways
to

after
a

at

and
even
seen
as
a

Swimming
can

It
is
also
believed
to
make
the

However,
do
you
know
anything
about
the
history
of
swimming?
The
earlier
recording
of
swimming
dates
back
to
7,000
years
ago.
The
Stone
Age
painting
clearly
showed
that
swimming
was
practised
at
that
time.
What’s
more,
many
historic
books
gave
written
records
of
swimming.
Swimming
became
popular
in
the
Middle
Ages.
In
the
1800s,
many
swimming
associations(协会)
were
set
up.
These
associations
organised
swimming
competitions.
In
fact,
there
have
been
records
of
swimming
clubs
which
were
set
up
in
countries
like
the
US,
England,
France
and
Germany
during
that
time.
England
is
believed
to
be
the
first
modern
society
to
consider
swimming
as
a
sport.
The
National
Swimming
Society
in
England
organised
swimming
competitions
that
were
held
in
London’s
six
pools.
Mathew
Webb’s
swim
across
the
English
Channel
further
increased
the
sport’s
popularity.
Later
in
1886,
a
new
association,
the
Amateur
Swimming
Association
of
Great
Britain,
was
set
up,
which
made
swimming
even
more
popular.
As
swimming
became
popular
during
the
1800s,
swimming
appeared
in
the
first
modern
Olympic
Games
in
Athens
in
1896.
During
this
time,
the
Olympic
Games
were
a
sports
festival
for
men
with
the
100
m
and
1,500
m
freestyle
swimming
held
in
open
water.
There
were
only
four
swimming
events.
Three
of
them
were
freestyle.
The
developer
of
the
modern
Olympic
Games,
Baron
Pierre
De
Coubertin
believed
that
women
were
not
brawny
enough
to
take
part
in
such
a
competitive
sport,
which
requires
a
lot
of
physical
power.
It
was
only
in
the
1912
Olympic
Games
that
women
swimmers
appeared.

You
can’t
imagine
how
terrible
I
felt
at
that
time.
A
month
before
my
first
marathon,
one
of
my
ankles
was
injured
and
this
meant
not
running
for
two
weeks,
leaving
me
only
two
weeks
to
train.
Yet,
I
was
determined
to
go
ahead.
I
remember
back
to
my
7th
year
in
school.
In
my
first
P.E.
class,
the
teacher
required
us
to
run
laps
and
then
hit
a
softball.
I
didn’t
do
either
well.
He
later
informed
me
that
I
was
“not
athletic”.
The
idea
that
I
was
“not
athletic”
stuck
with
me
for
years.
When
I
started
running
in
my
30s,
I
realised
running
was
a
battle
against
myself,
not
about
competition
or
whether
or
not
I
was
athletic.
It
was
all
about
the
battle
against
my
own
body
and
mind.
A
test
of
wills!
The
night
before
my
marathon,
I
dreamt
that
I
couldn’t
even
find
the
finish
line.
I
woke
up
sweating
and
nervous,
but
ready
to
prove
something
to
myself.
Shortly
after
crossing
the
start
line,
my
shoe
laces(鞋带)
became
untied.
So
I
stopped
to
readjust.
Not
the
start
I
wanted!
At
mile
3,
I
passed
a
sign:
“GO
FOR
IT,
RUNNERS!”
By
mile
17,
I
became
out
of
breath
and
the
once
injured
ankle
hurt
badly.
Despite
the
pain,
I
stayed
the
course
walking
a
bit
and
then
running
again.
By
mile
21,
I
was
starving!
As
I
approached
mile
23,
I
could
see
my
wife
waving
a
sign.
She
is
my
biggest
fan.
She
never
minded
the
alarm
clock
sounding
at
4
a.m.
or
questioned
my
expenses
on
running.
I
was
one
of
the
final
runners
to
finish.
But
I
finished!
And
I
got
a
medal.
In
fact,
I
got
the
same
medal
as
the
one
that
the
guy
who
came
in
first
place
had.
Determined
to
be
myself,
move
forward,
free
of
shame
and
worldly
labels(世俗标签),
I
can
now
call
myself
a
“marathon
winner”.

Dear

I’m
more
than
glad
to

my
advice
on
how
to
live
a

life.
First
of
all,
in
our
daily
life,
we
shouldn’t
eat
junk
food,
which
is
high
in
fat
and
calories
and
harmful
to
people’s
health.
Instead,
we
should
eat
more
fruit
and
vegetables.
Of
course,
meat,
fish
and
milk
are
considered
to
be
necessary
for
a
balanced
diet
as
well.
Besides,
it
is
very
helpful
to
keep
up
a
good
state

Finally,
we
should
spend
some
time
doing
exercise
no
matter
how
busy
we
are.
As
for
me,
I
make
it
a
rule
to
do

exercises,
which
has
improved
my
health.
Only
when
we
follow
a
healthy
lifestyle
can
we
really
enjoy
a
happy
life.
Yours
sincerely,

Secondly,
tell
your
pressure
to
others.
Talking
is
a
very
effective
way
to
ease
pressure,
and
during
the
talking,
you
may
get
some
suggestions
and
solutions.
Besides,
taking
enough
exercise
can
make
you
relaxed.
Finally,
trust
yourself.
You
should
believe
that
you
can
deal
with
any
troubles
by
yourself.
Hope
my
advice
is
of
great
help
to
you.
Good
