第14章 宾语从句
I. 由连词引导宾语从句
i. 由that引导的宾语从句
1. 当宾语从句是陈述句时，用that引导，连词that没有词义，一般可以省略。
2. 在带有复合宾语从句的结构中，常以it作为形式宾语，而将真正的宾语从句置于宾语补足语之后。
3. 有些形容词，如sorry等，可带that引导的宾语从句。
4. 有些介词，如except等，可带that引导的宾语从句。
ii. 由if或whether引导的宾语从句
1. 当宾语从句表达一般疑问句含义时，用if或whether引导。连词if和whether意为“是否”，可以互换使用，但whether可以和or not 连用，而if一般不和or not 连用。宾语从句应保持陈述句的语序。
2. 有些形容词，如sure等，可带whether引导的宾语从句。
3. 有些介词，如about等，可带whether引导的宾语从句。

iii. 由wh-引导的宾语从句
1. 当宾语从句表达特殊疑问句含义时，用what,who,when,why,how等引导，连词wh-仍含有疑问意义，宾语从句应保持陈述句的语序。

II. 宾语从句的时态
1. 主句为现在时态时，宾语从句可以是根据句意所需要的任何时态。
2. 主句为过去时态时，宾语从句应是相应的过去时态，即一般过去时、过去进行时、过去完成时或过去将来时。
3. 如果宾语从句所表示的内容是自然现象或客观真理，不论主句是什么时态，从句仍可以用现在时态。

III. 宾语从句的否定形式
如果think, believe, expect, suppose, imagine等及物动词后的宾语从句要表达否定意义时，否定词not通常要转移到主句里，在语法上称为“否定转移”。
