step1、Presentation
1、Listen to the beautiful music, do you like them
Listen to this kind of sound, do you like them
Nobody likes this kind of sound. Because they are noisy. They make people uncomfortable and unpleasant. It can even make people sick and deaf. We call them noise pollution.
2、T: You know, playing loud rock music at midnight is really noisy. Why
Ss: Because playing loud rock music can make people uncomfortable.
T: Yes. It not only disturbs others but also does harm to hearing/ is harmful to our ears.
(板书,领读并讲解disturb,要求掌握。)

T: (指图片问。) What are they doing
Ss: They are printing newspapers. (教师帮助回答并释义,领读print且要求掌握。)
T: The machines are making loud noise. Can they hear each other clearly

T: They have to say the words again and again. If they work there for a long time, they may become deaf. (教师指着耳朵领读become deaf并解释deaf: unable to hear,且要求掌握。)
T: That is to say, they will have hearing loss.

Step3 Reading
1、 T: So noise pollution is harmful to humans’ health. Right
Ss: Yes.
T: OK. Let’s read the passage in 2a. Try to find out how many kinds of noise pollution are mentioned in the passage.
T: Read the passage, then write down these four kinds of noise pollution in the passage.
4种噪音污染:①noise from a printing factory②noise from airports③noise caused by loud pop music④noise produced by cars and machines
2、T: OK. Read 2a again and answer more questions.
3、Read 2a loudly this time and finish 2b.
3. (要求学生利用关键词复述2a。)
T: Retell the passage with the key words given. Three minutes for preparation.

Step4Discussion

Read 1a and ask the students to pay attention to the following sentences.

Talk about the environment around us in groups. Then report your ideas to the class.
