How
intelligent
can
a
computer
be?
May
be
you
can
get
the
answer
after
reading
the
following
passage
about
a
newly-developed
US
computer
program
called
Smarter
Child
and
the
Internet.
If
you
ran
into
Smarter
Child
online,
you
would
be
surprised
at
this
kid’s
huge
memory.
It
can
recite
many
facts.
For
example,
Smarter
Child
knows
every
baseball
player
in
every
team
this
season.
He
knows
every
word
in
the
dictionary
and
the
weather
in
every
major
city
areas
across
the
US.
However,
if
you
ask
Smarter
Child
other
questions,
you
get
strange
answers.
A
question
about
Smarter
Child’s
age
returns,
“One
year,
11
days,
16
hours,
7
minutes,
and
47
seconds!”
Asking
where
he
lives,
“In
a
clean
room
in
a
high-tech
building
in
California.”
Smarter
Child
uses
the
huge
information
on
the
World
Wide
Web
as
his
memory
bank.
To
answer
questions
about
spelling,
for
instance,
Smarter
Child
goes
to
American
Heritage
Dictionary
online.
For
the
weather,
he
visits
www.intellicast.com.
Some
scientists
believe
that
by
joining
the
many
systems
of
the
Internet,
an
artificial
being
with
the
combined
knowledge
of,
say,
Albert
Einstein,
Richard
Nixon
and
Britney
Spears
could
be
born.
However,
if
Smarter
Child
wants
to
think
and
learn
on
his
own
like
the
boy-computer
David
in
the
movie
A.I.
Artificial
Intelligence,
he
must
solve
two
problems.
The
first
is
that
computers
find
it
difficult
to
read
web
pages
because
the
files
are
sorted
in
different
ways.
That’s
why
programmers
need
to
tell
Smarter
Child
where
to
look
for
the
weather.
It
would
be
a
much
more
difficult
task
to
let
him
find
it
himself.
Another
problem
is
that
while
Smarter
Child
can
deal
with
information
more
exactly
and
faster
than
any
human,
he
lacks(缺少)
common
sense—a
basic
grounding
of
knowledge
that
is
obvious(明显的)
to
any
young
child.
1.From
the
text
we
can
infer
that
www.intellicast.com
is
a
website
______.
A.which
is
specially
designed
to
help
Smarter
Child
B.which
is
about
artificial
intelligence
C.where
people
can
find
Smarter
Child
D.where
weather
forecasts
are
made
2.It
is
probably
most
difficult
for
Smarter
Child
to
______.
A.learn
the
ability
to
tell
right
behaviors
from
wrong
ones.
B.tell
us
how
the
American
government
is
run
C.provide
us
with
a
famous
poem
by
Shakespeare
D.tell
us
how
to
spell
a
difficult
word
3.Which
of
the
following
is
TRUE
according
to
the
text?
A.Smart
Child
has
his
own
memory
bank
big
enough
for
all
kinds
of
information.
B.A.I.
Artificial
Intelligence
is
probably
the
name
of
a
film
about
a
boy-computer.
C.Smart
Child
can
recognize
different
files
and
find
information
needed
on
his
own.
D.We
have
similar
product
now
which
has
the
knowledge
of
Einstein,
Nixon
and
Spears.
B
For
some
years,my
mother
worked
for
a
charity
as
President
and
Secretary.
Selling
raffle
tickets(兑奖券)
was
her
main
means
of
bringing
in
the
charity’s
much?needed
funds.
We
girls
would
accompany
her,selling
tickets
with
great
success.
My
father
made
and
donated
beautiful
wooden
toys,jewellery
boxes
and
other
lovely
items
as
prizes.
Now
my
sister
was
always
coming
up
with
“good
ideas”,most
of
which
didn’t
work
out
to
plan.
But
that
didn’t
deter
her.
She
had
many
just
waiting
to
be
tested.
When
she
was
eight
and
I
was
just
five,we
had
a
wonderful
idea
for
a
business
adventure.
We
decided
we
would
sell
raffle
tickets
for
charity,and
that
charity
was
us!
So
one
afternoon,we
told
our
mother
we
were
going
to
play
in
the
park
with
our
cousins
as
we
did
most
days
after
school.
But
instead,we
walked
around
the
streets
armed
with
a
raffle
book,a
pen
and
a
large
cloth
bag
to
carry
the
money.
We’d
accompanied
our
mother
many
times
when
she
sold
tickets,so
people
were
familiar
with
us
when
we
appeared
at
their
doors.
Despite
the
blank
looks
they
received
when
asking
about
the
prizes
on
offer,they
were
very
generous.
Although
there
were
no
actual
prizes,our
mother’s
previous
track
record
enabled
us
to
sell
nearly
the
whole
book
of
raffle
tickets.
Like
a
little
pair
of
lottery(彩票)
winners,we
walked
home
and
proudly
showed
off
our
takings.
But
our
enjoyment
of
this
sudden
wealth
was
short?lived,and
our
plans
for
spending
it
quickly
failed.
Our
angry
mother
took
us
back
to
every
ticket
buyer,making
us
apologise
and
give
the
money
back.
Thankfully,our
sweet
neighbours
didn’t
make
a
big
deal
of
our
“clever”
misbehavior
and
thus
my
mother’s
fundraising
career
could
continue
safely.
We
were
taught
a
good
lesson
by
our
mother
that
day.
Also
I
remember
my
sister’s
entrepreneurial(企业家的)
spirit
dried
up
a
bit
after
that.
4.What

in
charge
of
a
charity.

helped
design
raffle
tickets.

“deter”
in
Paragraph
2
mean?
A.Embarrass.
B.Shock.
C.Discourage.
D.Mislead.
6.What
can
be
learned
about
the
author
and
her
sister
while
selling
raffle
tickets?
A.They
ran
into
their
mother.
B.They
met
some
generous
strangers.

got
lost
while
walking
around
the
streets.
D.They
took
advantage
of
people’s
trust
in
their
mother.
7.What

did
the
author
and
her
sister
learn?
A.Honesty
is
the
best
policy.

A
robot
created
by
Washington
State
University
(WSU)
scientists
could
help
elderly
people
with
dementia
(痴呆)
and
other
limitations
live
independently
in
their
own
homes.
The
Robot
Activity
Support
System,
or
RAS,
uses
sensors
installed
in
a
WSU
smart
home
to
determine
where
its
residents
are,
what
they
are
doing
and
when
they
need
assistance
with
daily
activities.
It
navigates
(定位)
through
rooms
and
around
obstacles
to
find
people
on
its
own,
provides
video
instructions
on
how
to
do
simple
tasks
and
can
even
lead
its
owner
to
objects
like
their
medication
or
a
snack
in
the
kitchen.
“RAS
combines
the
convenience
of
a
mobile
robot
with
the
activity
detection
technology
of
a
WSU
smart
home
to
provide
assistance
in
the
moment,
as
the
need
for
help
is
detected,”
said
Bryan
Minor,
a
postdoctoral
researcher
in
the
WSU
School
of
Electrical
Engineering
and
Computer
Science.
Currently,
an
estimated
50
percent
of
adults
over
the
age
of
85
need
assistance
with
every
day
activities
such
as
preparing
meals
and
taking
medication
and
the
annual
cost
for
this
assistance
in
the
US
is
nearly
$2
trillion.
With
the
number
of
adults
over
85
expected
to
triple
by
2050,
researchers
hope
that
technologies
like
RAS
and
the
WSU
smart
home
will
relieve
some
of
the
financial
strain
on
the
healthcare
system
by
making
it
easier
for
older
adults
to
live
alone.
RAS
is
the
first
robot
researchers
have
tried
to
incorporate
into
their
smart
home
environment.
They
recently
published
a
study
in
the
journal
Cognitive
Systems
Research
that
demonstrates
how
RAS
could
make
life
easier
for
older
adults
struggling
to
live
independently.
“While
we
are
still
in
an
early
stage
of
development,
our
initial
results
with
RAS
have
been
promising,”
Minor
said.
“The
next
step
in
the
research
will
be
to
test
RAS’
performance
with
a
group
of
older
adults
to
get
a
better
idea
of
what
prompts,
video
reminders
and
other
preferences
they
have
regarding
the
robot.”
8.How
does
RAS
serve
elderly
people?
A.Through
sensors.
B.Through
objects.
C.Through
a
mobile
robot.
D.Through
their
daily
activities.
9.What
can
we
know
about
RAS?
A.It
is
the
first
robot
used
in
daily
life.
B.Its
function
remains
to
be
tested.
C.It
can
locate
people
and
do
any
task.
D.It
can
cook
for
owners
on
its
own.
10.What’s
Minor’s
attitude
toward
the
future
of
RAS?
A.Doubtful.
B.Negative.
C.Optimistic.
D.Uncertain.
11.What
can
be
a
suitable
title
for
the
text?
A.Elderly
people
leave
the
nursing
home.
B.Smart
Home
Tests
first
elder-Care
robot.
C.RAS,
the
first
robot
to
make
home
smart.
D.Older
adults
have
benefited
from
RAS.
D
You’re
enjoying
a
quiet
evening
at
home
when
suddenly
your
neighbor's
dog
starts
barking(吠叫)and
doesn’t
stop.
Sure,
dogs
need
to
bark
every
now
and
then,
but
if
the
barking
is
getting
in
the
way
of
your
daily
life,
you
need
to
do
something.
Before
you
take
action,
make
records
of
when
the
dog
is
disturbing.
Record
the
dates
and
times
when
the
barking
appears
to
find
out
the
features
of
the
barking.
Check
them
carefully
and
get
your
facts
straight.
You
might
notice
the
barking
only
happens
when
the
owners
are
at
work,
or
during
thunderstorms.
After
two
to
three
weeks,
visit
your
neighbors
with
the
facts,
your
neighbors
might
not
even
realize
the
barking
is
a
problem,
for
the
worst
noise
may
happen
when
they
are
gone.
Explain
the
times
when
the
barking
gets
bad,
then
suggest
a
way
to
solve
the
problem.
Ask
if
the
dog
can
stay
inside
during
storm,
or
suggest
a
dog
training
class.
Be
open
to
compromise(妥协)because
the
owners
might
have
other
ideas
about
how
to
deal
with
the
noise.
Befriending
the
dog
could
help.
Have
your
neighbors
introduce
you
to
their
dog.
If
they
become
more
comfortable
in
your
presence,
they're
less
likely
to
bark
when
they
see
you
or
when
they
are
in
the
backyard.
You
might
even
be
able
to
use
commands
such
as
“quiet”
once
the
dog
trusts
you.
Avoid
gossiping(流言輩语)with
other
neighbors
about
the
dog.
“That’s
when
things
escalate.”
After
all,
most
people
will
want
to
solve
the
problem.
12.What
can
you
do
first
when
your
neighbor’s
dogs
barking
influences
your
life?
A.Bring
the
dog
to
a
training
class.
B.Drive
it
out
of
your
neighborhood.
C.Record
the
dates
and
times
of
the
barking.
D.Show
your
complaint
to
your
neighborhood.
13.Why
are
your
neighbors
less
likely
to
realize
the
barking
problem?
A.They
may
like
dogs
barking.
B.They
all
think
their
dogs
are
friendly.
C.They
have
been
used
to
the
barking
of
the
dogs.
D.They
may
be
out
when
the
worst
barking
happens.
14.What
does
the
underlined
word
"escalate"
in
the
last
paragraph
probably
mean?
A.Become
better.
B.Become
worse.
C.Remain
unchanged.
D.Become
more
personal.
15.What
can
be
inferred
from
the
text?
A.Love
me,
love
my
dog.
B.Barking
dogs
seldom
bite.
C.Good
communication
is
a
must.
D.Treat
violence
with
violence.
第二节
(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项;选项中有两项为多余选项。
Five
steps
to
better
handwriting
Some
kids
love
handwriting,
but
others
hate
it
when
it’s
time
to
put
pen
to
paper.
Maybe
they
are
worried
about
their
handwriting.
Are
you
one
of
them?
16.Here
are
five
steps
that
really
work!
Get
a
great
grasp
Try
this

hold
your
pencil
at
the
top
and
try
to
write
your
name.
Pretty
hard?
But
when
you
hold
your
pencil
the
correct
way,
writing
is
much
easier.
17.Hold
it
in
place
with
your
thumb(拇指),
and
your
index
and
middle
fingers.
Let
the
lines
be
your
guide
Lined
paper
is
your
friend!
Those
lines
can
help
you
create
letters
that
are
of
the
right
size
and
proportion
(比例).
18.Also
be
sure
to
fill
up
the
lined
space
completely.
Those
capital
letters
should
be
from
the
bottom
line
to
the
top
one.
Slow
down
If
your
writing
is
hard
to
read,
try
slowing
down
a
little.
If
you
rush,
it’s
hard
to
control
where
you
stop
and
start
your
letters.
Lower
the
pressure
(压力)
19.That
makes
it
harder
to
make
the
smooth
lines.
Try
relaxing
and
don’t
hold
the
pencil
too
hard.
20.
Lots
of
games
need
you
to
write
or
draw
pictures.
So
even
though
it’s
not
schoolwork,
you’re
still
using
the
skills
you
need
to
control
your
pencil
better.
A.Play
games
B.Ask
for
advice
C.You’ve
been
writing
since
you
were
a
little
kid.
D.So
“a”
should
be
half
the
height
of
a
capital
“A”.
E.
Some
kids
press
down
really
hard
when
they
write.
F.
The
best
way
to
hold
a
pencil
is
to
rest
it
next
to
the
base
of
your
thumb.
G.
The
good
news
is
that
just
about
everyone
can
improve
their
handwriting.
第二部分
语言知识运用
(共两节,
满分45分)
(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。
Each
of
us
struggles
for
self-respect
and
self-worth
to
some
degree.
I
spent
much
time
trying
to
achieve
perfection
in
every
aspect
of
my
life.
I
was
a
happy
kid
with
a
lot
of
friends
and
a
Supportive
family.
But
growing
up
was
really
21
and
even
scary
sometimes.
During
my
childhood,
I
was
constantly
involved
in
something
that
included
people’s
viewing
my
achievements
or
my
22
.
I
wanted
everyone’s
praise
and
acceptance,
but
I
was
my
own
toughest
critic
(挑剔的人).
After
I
graduated
from
high
school,
my
23
to
be
“thin”
began
to
trouble
me.
I
began
trying
to
diet
by
24
my
food.
In
the
beginning,
I
felt
great—attractive
and
successful,
almost
superhuman.
I
even
thought
that
I
was
better
than
everyone
else.
What
I
didn’t
see
was
that
I
was
slowly
25
myself.
People
around
me
began
to
26
my
weight
loss.
They
said
with
concern.
“You’re
losing
too
much
weight.”
“Elisa,
you’re
so
thin.”
All
their
words
only
suggested
that
I
was
getting
closer
to

27
”.
Sadly,
I
took
my
physical
28
the
first
important
in
my
life,
29
that
it
was
the
way
to
become
successful
and
accepted.
Then
I
cut
down
my
30
more
and
more,
until
a
31
day
consisted
of
half
a
teaspoon
of
nonfat
yoghurt
and
coffee
in
the
morning,
and
a
cup
of
grapes
at
night.
But
my
poor
32
began
to
cause
me
to
lose
33
.
Then
one
night,
like
many
nights
before,
I
couldn’t
sleep,
and
my
heart
felt
as
though
it
might
beat
out
of
my
chest.
I
tried
to
34
,
but
I
couldn’t.
The
beating
became
so
rapid
and
so
strong
that
I
could
no
longer
35
.
What
I
had
done
to
diet
nearly
caused
me
to
have
a
heart
attack.
I
stood
up,
and
immediately
fell
down.
I
was
really
36
,
and
I
knew
I
needed
help.
My
roommate
rushed
me
to
the
37
,
beginning
the
long
road
to
my
38
.
It
took
a
lot—doctors,
nurses,
nutritionists,
food
supplements...
And
most
important,
a
sense
of
what
was
true
about
myself
got
back
on
track
with
reality.
I
realized
that,
with
my
39
of
trying
to
be
“perfect”
on
the
40
,
I
had
sacrificed
who
I
was
on
the
inside.
What
I
know
now
is,
we
are—each
and
every

第I卷(选择题)
第一部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分30分)
(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
How
intelligent
can
a
computer
be?
May
be
you
can
get
the
answer
after
reading
the
following
passage
about
a
newly-developed
US
computer
program
called
Smarter
Child
and
the
Internet.
If
you
ran
into
Smarter
Child
online,
you
would
be
surprised
at
this
kid’s
huge
memory.
It
can
recite
many
facts.
For
example,
Smarter
Child
knows
every
baseball
player
in
every
team
this
season.
He
knows
every
word
in
the
dictionary
and
the
weather
in
every
major
city
areas
across
the
US.
However,
if
you
ask
Smarter
Child
other
questions,
you
get
strange
answers.
A
question
about
Smarter
Child’s
age
returns,
“One
year,
11
days,
16
hours,
7
minutes,
and
47
seconds!”
Asking
where
he
lives,
“In
a
clean
room
in
a
high-tech
building
in
California.”
Smarter
Child
uses
the
huge
information
on
the
World
Wide
Web
as
his
memory
bank.
To
answer
questions
about
spelling,
for
instance,
Smarter
Child
goes
to
American
Heritage
Dictionary
online.
For
the
weather,
he
visits
www.intellicast.com.
Some
scientists
believe
that
by
joining
the
many
systems
of
the
Internet,
an
artificial
being
with
the
combined
knowledge
of,
say,
Albert
Einstein,
Richard
Nixon
and
Britney
Spears
could
be
born.
However,
if
Smarter
Child
wants
to
think
and
learn
on
his
own
like
the
boy-computer
David
in
the
movie
A.I.
Artificial
Intelligence,
he
must
solve
two
problems.
The
first
is
that
computers
find
it
difficult
to
read
web
pages
because
the
files
are
sorted
in
different
ways.
That’s
why
programmers
need
to
tell
Smarter
Child
where
to
look
for
the
weather.
It
would
be
a
much
more
difficult
task
to
let
him
find
it
himself.
Another
problem
is
that
while
Smarter
Child
can
deal
with
information
more
exactly
and
faster
than
any
human,
he
lacks(缺少)
common
sense—a
basic
grounding
of
knowledge
that
is
obvious(明显的)
to
any
young
child.
1.From
the

Smarter
Child
B.which
is
about
artificial
intelligence
C.where
people
can
find
Smarter
Child
D.where
weather
forecasts
are
made
2.It
is
probably
most
difficult
for
Smarter
Child
to
______.
A.learn
the
ability
to
tell
right
behaviors
from
wrong
ones.
B.tell
us
how
the
American
government
is

is
TRUE
according
to
the

bank
big
enough
for
all
kinds
of
information.
B.A.I.
Artificial

is
probably
the
name
of
a

about
a

【文章大意】本文是说明文,主要介绍了美国新开发的电脑程序,名为“Smarter
Child”的优点,它的技术支持以及它要独立思考和学习,必须解决的两个问题。
1.D
推理判断题。根据第四段“For
the
weather,
he
visits
www.intellicast.com.”
关于天气,他访问了www.intellicast.com。由此判断出www.intellicast.com是天气播报网站,故选D项。
2.A
推理判断题。根据最后一段“he
lacks(缺少)
common
sense—a
basic
grounding
of
knowledge
that
is
obvious(明显的)
to
any
young
child.”他缺乏常识——对任何小孩子来说,常识都是显而易见的知识基础。由此判断出,对Smarter
Child来说,学习辨别正确行为和错误行为的能力可能是最困难的。故选A项。
3.B
细节理解题,根据倒数第三段“if
Smarter
Child
wants
to
think
and
learn
on
his
own
like
the
boy-computer
David
in
the
movie
A.
I.
Artificial
Intelligence,
he
must
solve
two
problems.”
如果Smarter
Child
想要像电影《人工智能》里的小电脑大卫那样独立思考和学习,他必须解决两个问题。故选B项。

For
some
years,my
mother
worked
for
a
charity
as
President
and
Secretary.
Selling
raffle
tickets(兑奖券)
was
her
main
means
of
bringing
in
the
charity’s
much?needed
funds.
We
girls
would
accompany
her,selling
tickets
with
great
success.
My
father
made
and
donated
beautiful
wooden
toys,jewellery
boxes
and
other
lovely
items
as
prizes.
Now
my
sister
was
always
coming
up
with
“good
ideas”,most
of
which
didn’t
work
out
to
plan.
But
that
didn’t
deter
her.
She
had
many
just
waiting
to
be
tested.
When
she
was
eight
and
I
was
just
five,we
had
a
wonderful
idea
for
a
business
adventure.
We
decided
we
would
sell
raffle
tickets
for
charity,and
that
charity
was
us!
So
one
afternoon,we
told
our
mother
we
were
going
to
play
in
the
park
with
our
cousins
as
we
did
most
days
after
school.
But
instead,we
walked
around
the
streets
armed
with
a
raffle
book,a
pen
and
a
large
cloth
bag
to
carry
the
money.
We’d
accompanied
our
mother
many
times
when
she
sold
tickets,so
people
were
familiar
with
us
when
we
appeared
at
their
doors.
Despite
the
blank
looks
they
received
when
asking
about
the
prizes
on
offer,they
were
very
generous.
Although
there
were
no
actual
prizes,our
mother’s
previous
track
record
enabled
us
to
sell
nearly
the
whole
book
of
raffle
tickets.
Like
a
little
pair
of
lottery(彩票)
winners,we
walked
home
and
proudly
showed
off
our
takings.
But
our
enjoyment
of
this
sudden
wealth
was
short?lived,and
our
plans
for
spending
it
quickly
failed.
Our
angry
mother
took
us
back
to
every
ticket
buyer,making
us
apologise
and
give
the
money
back.
Thankfully,our
sweet
neighbours
didn’t
make
a
big
deal
of
our
“clever”
misbehavior
and
thus
my
mother’s
fundraising
career
could
continue
safely.
We
were
taught
a
good
lesson
by
our
mother
that
day.
Also
I
remember
my
sister’s
entrepreneurial(企业家的)
spirit
dried
up
a
bit
after
that.
4.What
did
the
author’s
father
do?
A.He
got
prizes
ready.
B.He
sold
hand?made
items.
C.He
was
in
charge
of
a
charity.
D.He
helped
design
raffle
tickets.
5.What
does
the
underlined
word
“deter”
in
Paragraph
2
mean?
A.Embarrass.
B.Shock.
C.Discourage.
D.Mislead.
6.What
can
be
learned
about
the
author
and
her
sister
while
selling
raffle
tickets?
A.They
ran
into
their
mother.
B.They
met
some
generous
strangers.
C.They
got
lost
while
walking
around
the
streets.
D.They
took
advantage
of
people’s
trust
in
their
mother.
7.What
lesson
did
the
author
and
her
sister
learn?
A.Honesty
is
the
best
policy.
B.What’s
done
can’t
be
undone.
C.Misfortune
never
comes
alone.
D.Good
advice
is
beyond
all
price.
【文章大意】这是一篇记叙文。文章主要描述了作者和妹妹自以为的“小聪明式”售卖慈善奖券的方式受到了母亲的责备,并得到了教训:要以诚信待人。
4.A
细节理解题。根据文章第一段末句:My
father
made
and
donated
beautiful
wooden
toys,jewellery
boxes
and
other
lovely
items
as
prizes.(我父亲制作并捐赠了漂亮的木制玩具、首饰盒和其他可爱的物品作为奖品。)可知,作者的父亲准备奖品。故选A项。
5.C
词义猜测题。根据划线单词所在句子由but连接,表转折,之前的句子:Now
my
sister
was
always
coming
up
with
“good
ideas”,most
of
which
didn’t
work
out
to
plan.(现在我妹妹总是能想出“好主意”,但大多数都没有按计划实现。)以及后一句:She
had
many
just
waiting
to
be
tested.(她有很多只是等待测试。)可知,作者的妹妹并没有受到计划失败的打击。因此划线单词deter可以理解为discourage(使气馁),故选C项。
6.D
推理判断题。根据文章第四段:We’d
accompanied
our
mother
many
times
when
she
sold
tickets,so
people
were
familiar
with
us
when
we
appeared
at
their
doors.
Despite
the
blank
looks
they
received
when
asking
about
the
prizes
on
offer,they
were
very
generous.
Although
there
were
no
actual
prizes,our
mother’s
previous
track
record
enabled
us
to
sell
nearly
the
whole
book
of
raffle
tickets.(妈妈卖票的时候,我们陪了她很多次,所以当我们出现在门口时,大家都很熟悉我们。尽管在询问奖品时他们得到的只是茫然的表情,但他们非常慷慨。虽然没有真正的奖品,但我们母亲之前的记录使我们几乎卖出了整本书的奖券。)可知,作者母亲的信用帮助他们卖出了整本书的奖券。选项D
They
took
advantage
of
people’s
trust
in
their
mother.(他们利用人们对他们母亲的信任。)属于合理推断。故选D项。
7.A
推理判断题。根据文章末段:Thankfully,our
sweet
neighbours
didn’t
make
a
big
deal
of
our
“clever”
misbehavior
and
thus
my
mother’s
fundraising
career
could
continue
safely.
We
were
taught
a
good
lesson
by
our
mother
that
day.(
值得庆幸的是,我们可爱的邻居并没有把我们的“聪明”行为当回事,因此我母亲的筹款事业可以安全地继续下去。那天妈妈给了我们一个很好的教训。)可知,作者的母亲给与了他们的“小聪明”教训。他们小聪明就是上文提及的“Despite
the
blank
looks
they
received
when
asking
about
the
prizes
on
offer,they
were
very
generous.
Although
there
were
no
actual
prizes…(尽管在询问奖品时他们得到的只是茫然的表情,但他们非常慷慨。虽然没有真正的奖品……)。因此可知,作者和妹妹得到的教训是要有诚信。故选A项。

【文章大意】这是一篇说明文。短文就被邻居家的狗的叫声打扰时,应该如何去做提出了一些建议。
12.C
细节理解题。由第二段Record
the
dates
and
times
when
the
barking
appears
to
find
out
the
features
of
the
barking.可知,记录狗叫声出现的日期和时间,找出狗叫声的特征。所以当邻居的狗叫声影响到了你的生活时,你首先能做的是记录狗叫的日期和时间。故选C项。
13.D
细节理解题。由第三段your
neighbors
might
not
even
realize
the
barking
is
a
problem,
for
the
worst
noise
may
happen
when
they
're
gone.可知,你的邻居甚至可能没有意识到狗叫声是个问题,因为最糟糕的噪音可能发生在他们不在家的时候。所以为什么你的邻居不太可能意识到狗叫的问题是因为当狗叫时,它们不在家。故选D项。
14.B
词义猜测题。根据最后一段Avoid
gossiping(流言輩语)with
other
neighbors
about
the
dog.可知,避免和其他邻居谈论狗。所以判断出和其他邻居谈论狗时会使问题恶化。故通过上下文可以判断出,划线词的意思是“变得更糟”。故选B项。
15.C
推理判断题。根据第二段Before
you
take
action,
make
records
of
when
the
dog
is
disturbing.在你采取行动之前,记录下狗打扰你的时间。第三段After
two
to
three
weeks,
visit
your
neighbors

the
facts.两到三周后,去拜访你的邻居。第四段Explain
the
times
when
the
barking

bad,
then
suggest
a
way
to
solve
the
problem.解释狗叫的时间,然后提出解决问题的方法。第五段Befriending
the
dog
could
help.和狗狗成为朋友可能会有所帮助。所以通过所提出的建议可以判断出,良好的沟通是必须的。故选C项。
第二节
(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项;选项中有两项为多余选项。
Five
steps
to
better
handwriting
Some
kids
love
handwriting,
but
others
hate
it
when
it’s
time
to
put
pen
to
paper.
Maybe
they
are
worried
about
their
handwriting.
Are
you
one
of
them?
16.Here
are
five
steps
that
really
work!
Get
a
great
grasp
Try
this

hold
your
pencil
at
the
top
and
try
to
write
your
name.
Pretty
hard?
But
when
you
hold
your
pencil
the
correct
way,
writing
is
much
easier.
17.Hold
it
in
place
with
your
thumb(拇指),
and
your
index
and
middle
fingers.
Let
the
lines
be
your
guide
Lined
paper
is
your
friend!
Those
lines
can
help
you
create
letters
that
are
of
the
right
size
and
proportion
(比例).
18.Also
be
sure
to
fill
up
the
lined
space
completely.
Those
capital
letters
should
be
from
the
bottom
line
to
the
top
one.
Slow
down
If
your
writing
is
hard
to
read,
try
slowing
down
a
little.
If
you
rush,
it’s
hard
to
control
where
you
stop
and
start
your
letters.
Lower
the
pressure
(压力)
19.That
makes
it
harder
to
make
the
smooth
lines.
Try
relaxing
and
don’t
hold
the
pencil
too
hard.
20.
Lots
of
games
need
you
to
write
or
draw
pictures.
So
even
though
it’s
not
schoolwork,
you’re
still
using
the
skills
you
need
to
control
your
pencil
better.
A.Play
games
B.Ask
for
advice
C.You’ve
been
writing
since
you
were
a
little
kid.
D.So
“a”
should
be
half
the
height
of
a
capital
“A”.
E.
Some
kids
press
down
really
hard
when
they
write.
F.
The
best
way
to
hold
a
pencil
is
to
rest
it
next
to
the
base
of
your
thumb.
G.
The
good
news
is
that
just
about
everyone
can
improve
their
handwriting.
【文章大意】这是一篇说明文。短文介绍了提高书写质量的五个步骤。
16.G
由“Maybe
they
are
worried
about
their
handwriting.
Are
you
one
of
them?
____16____Here
are
five
steps
that
really
work!”可知,也许他们担心自己的书写。你是他们中的一员吗?这里有五个真的很有用的步骤。所以小题16要起到承上启下的作用。故G选项“好消息是,几乎每个人都可以提高他们的书写”切题。故选G项。
17.F
由“
Hold
it
in
place
with
your
thumb(拇指),
and
your
index
and
middle
fingers.”可知,用拇指、食指和中指将其固定到位。所以小题17与后一句一同来说明如何正确地拿笔。故F选项“拿铅笔最好的方法是把它放在拇指底部”切题。故选F项。
18.D
由“Those
lines
can
help
you
create
letters
that
are
of
the
right
size
and
proportion
(比例)”可知,这些线条可以帮助写出大小和比例合适的字母。所以小题18要举例说明这些线在书写时的作用。故D选项“所以“a”应该是大写字母“A”的一半高”切题。故选D项。
19.E
由“That
makes
it
harder
to
make
the
smooth
lines”可知,这样就很难画出平滑的线条。所以小题19要说明哪种情况导致很难画出平滑的线条。故E选项“有些孩子写字的时候很用力”切题。故选E项。
20.A
由“Lots
of
games
need
you
to
write
or
draw
pictures.
So
even
though
it’s
not
schoolwork,
you’re
still
using
the
skills
you
need
to
control
your
pencil
better”可知,很多游戏都需要你去写或者画画。所以即使这不是作业,你仍然在使用你需要的技能来更好地控制你的铅笔。所以本段主要在说明玩游戏也可以帮助你提高书写质量也就是小题20本段的标题所要说明的内容。故A选项“玩游戏”切题。故选A项。
第二部分
语言知识运用
(共两节,
满分45分)
(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。
Each
of
us
struggles
for
self-respect
and
self-worth
to
some
degree.
I
spent
much
time
trying
to
achieve
perfection
in
every
aspect
of
my
life.
I
was
a
happy
kid
with
a
lot
of
friends
and
a
Supportive
family.
But
growing
up
was
really
21
and
even
scary
sometimes.
During
my
childhood,
I
was
constantly
involved
in
something
that
included
people’s
viewing
my
achievements
or
my
22
.
I
wanted
everyone’s
praise
and
acceptance,
but
I
was
my
own
toughest
critic
(挑剔的人).
After
I
graduated
from
high
school,
my
23
to
be
“thin”
began
to
trouble
me.
I
began
trying
to
diet
by
24
my
food.
In
the
beginning,
I
felt
great—attractive
and
successful,
almost
superhuman.
I
even
thought
that
I
was
better
than
everyone
else.
What
I
didn’t
see
was
that
I
was
slowly
25
myself.
People
around
me
began
to
26
my
weight
loss.
They
said
with
concern.
“You’re
losing
too
much
weight.”
“Elisa,
you’re
so
thin.”
All
their
words
only
suggested
that
I
was
getting
closer
to

27
”.
Sadly,
I
took
my
physical
28
the
first
important
in
my
life,
29
that
it
was
the
way
to
become
successful
and
accepted.
Then
I
cut
down
my
30
more
and
more,
until
a
31
day
consisted
of
half
a
teaspoon
of
nonfat
yoghurt
and
coffee
in
the
morning,
and
a
cup
of
grapes
at
night.
But
my
poor
32
began
to
cause
me
to
lose
33
.
Then
one
night,
like
many
nights
before,
I
couldn’t
sleep,
and
my
heart
felt
as
though
it
might
beat
out
of
my
chest.
I
tried
to
34
,
but
I
couldn’t.
The
beating
became
so
rapid
and
so
strong
that
I
could
no
longer
35
.
What
I
had
done
to
diet
nearly
caused
me
to
have
a
heart
attack.
I
stood
up,
and
immediately
fell
down.
I
was
really
36
,
and
I
knew
I
needed
help.
My
roommate
rushed
me
to
the
37
,
beginning
the
long
road
to
my
38
.
It
took
a
lot—doctors,
nurses,
nutritionists,
food
supplements...
And
most
important,
a
sense
of
what
was
true
about
myself
got
back
on
track
with
reality.
I
realized
that,
with
my
39
of
trying
to
be
“perfect”
on
the
40
,
I
had
sacrificed
who
I
was
on
the
inside.
What
I
know
now
is,
we
are—each
and
every
one
of
us—already
perfect.

考查动词不定式。句意:自行车很便宜,在中国很容易买到。形容词后用不定式做状语,此处动词不定式的宾语就是句子的主语,用主动表示被动。故填to
buy。
44.which/
that
考查定语从句。句意:首先,与汽油汽车相比,自行车可以很好地节约能源和减少空气污染。此处cars是先行词,指物,放在后面的定语从句中作主语,所以用which/
that。故填which/
that。
45.saving
考查非谓语动词。句意:首先,与汽油汽车相比,自行车可以很好地节约能源和减少空气污染。固定搭配:do
good
to
doing
sth.“对做某事有益”其中to是介词,后面用动名词作宾语。故填saving。
46.lighten
考查动词。句意:占用更少的空间,自行车也可以减轻交通堵塞。情态动词后跟动词原形,lighten是动词,意思是“减轻”,在情态动词can后面用原形。故填lighten。
47.healthy
考查形容词作表语。句意:最重要的是,人们可以通过经常骑自行车来保持健康。固定短语:keep
healthy“保持身体健康”。此处keep是连系动词,后面用形容词作表语,所给词health是名词,其形容词是healthy。故填healthy。
48.In
考查固定短语。句意:在我看来,自行车的未来将是光明的,因为一些城市的政府为骑自行车的人建立了专门的道路,并提供免费的“公共自行车”在市中心穿行。固定短语:in
one’s
view“以某人看来”。故填In。
49.because
考查原因状语从句。句意:在我看来,自行车的未来将是光明的,因为一些城市的政府为骑自行车的人建立了专门的道路,并提供免费的“公共自行车”在市中心穿行。结合句意可知此处表示原因,是because引导的原因状语从句。故填because。
50.have
provided
/
provided
考查时态。句意:在我看来,自行车的未来将是光明的,因为一些城市的政府为骑自行车的人建立了专门的道路,并提供免费的“公共自行车”在市中心穿行。根据前半句的时态have
built可知句子用现在完成时态,have可承前省略。故填have
provided
/
provided。

On
Monday,
we
had
a
surprise
math
quiz.
I
must
have
sounded
very
proud
of
me
after
the
quiz,
saying
what
easy
it
was.
The
next
day
after
class,
my
math
teacher
told
me
that
I

in
the

I
was
very
upset
that
I
felt
like
crying.
I
thought
that
Hannah
should
have
told
my
classmates
about
my
grade
after
promise
not
to.
I
was
so
angry
that
I
went
straight
to
Hannah
and
told
her
we
weren’t
going

any
more
because
she
couldn’t
keep
her

She
was
really
upset
and
swore
that
she

but
I
didn’t

her

I
don’t

I

【文章大意】这是一篇记叙文。本文叙述了作者和好朋友之间的一次误会,作者有一次考试中数学考试得了班级最低分,她不想让其他的同学知道她的考试成绩,但是只告诉她的好朋友,让她保守秘密,可是第二天其他的同学都知道了这事,作者认为是她的好朋友泄露了秘密,从此两个人再也不说话了,可是作者现在有点后悔。
第一处:betray→betrayed
考查过去分词。句意:我觉得被我的朋友Hannah出卖了。feel
+过去分词,“感到……”,故把betray改成betrayed。
第二处:me→myself
考查反身代词。句意:在测验结束后,我一定为我感到非常自豪,并说这是多么容易。主语与宾语指同一事物,要用主语的反身代词做宾语,意思是“某人以自己而自豪”。故把me改成myself。
第三处:what→how
考查宾语从句引导词。句意:在测验结束后,我一定为我感到非常自豪,并说这是多么容易。此处easy是形容词,用how修饰,引导宾语从句,故把what改成how。
第四处:lowest前加the
考查最高级。形容词最高级前定冠词the,故lowest前加the。
第五处:very→so
考查结果状语从句。句意:我很难过,我想哭。此处是so---that引导的结果状语从句,故把very改成so。
第六处:should→must
考查情态动词。句意:我以为Hannah一定是在答应了以后告诉我的同学我的成绩的。should
have
done“本应该做而没有做”;must
have
done“一定是做某事了”,表示对过去事情有把握的肯定推测。故把should改成must。
第七处:promise→promising
考查动名词。此处after是介词,后面用动名词做宾语,故把promise改成promising。
第八处:words→word
考查固定词组。keep
one’s
word“遵守诺言”,故把words改成word。
第九处:hasn’t→hadn’t
考查时态。句意:她很生气,发誓说她没有告诉任何人,但我不相信她的解释。此处tell的动作发生在swore的前面,所以要用过去完成时态,故把hasn’t改成hadn’t。
第十处:去掉forgive后的to
考查及物动词。此处forgive(原谅)是及物动词,后面直接跟宾语,故去掉forgive后的to。
