As
most
people
know,in
the
past
few
years,sandstorms
have
swept
across
many
cities
and
areas
of
North
China,polluting
the
air
and
disturbing
daily
lives
of
human
beings.People
look
dirty
and
suffer
many
kinds
of
illnesses,such
as
breath
difficulty.The
sandstorm
is
such
a
serious
problem
that
it
has
not
only
undermined
the
industrial
and
agricultural
development
of
our
country
but
also
caused
a
lot
of
trouble
to
the
living
conditions
of
the
Chinese
people.It
is
expected
that
effective
(有效的)
measures
should
be
taken
as
soon
as
possible
through
our
joint
efforts
to
limit
its
occurrence.
So
what
should
we
do
with
the
frightening
sandstorms?
Some
experts
put
forward
practical
suggestions
as
follows:
For
one
thing,more
funds
(基金)
ought
to
be
put
into
tree
planting
and
forest
protection
so
as
to
keep
more
water
resources
within
the
surface
of
the
earth.For
another,governments
of
all
countries
should
make
laws
on
environmental
protection.For
example,banning
the
use
of
throw?away
chopsticks
and
punishing
illegal
tree
cutting.Scientists
should
also
study
and
find
ways
to
cut
down
the
degree
of
its
destruction
and
to
improve
the
whole
environment.
How
people
look
forward
to
sunny
days
with
little
breeze
(微风)
touching
their
faces
now
and
forever!Nevertheless,I
am
fully
confident
that
the
golden
days
can
come
back
so
long
as
everyone
tries
his
best
to
protect
natural
environment
from
today
on.

I
always
wanted
to
be
a
firefighter.It
seemed
exciting
to
me.I
like
to
be
outside,lift
heavy
things
and
sleep
on
the
ground!
In
college,I
got
a
job
with
the
forest
service.My
first
week
on
the
job,they
asked
if
I
wanted
to
get
my
red
card(training
for
forest
fires),I
said
yes!
The
training
was
a
week
long.I
learned
about
the
different
types
of
fire
crews(工作人员)and
I
remember
the
instructor
saying
hotshots
were
the
top
dogs.He
said
they
had
the
most
difficult
and
dangerous
job
and
that
you
had
to
really
prove
yourself
in
order
to
be
a
hotshot.I
was
sold.I
didn't
want
to

hire(雇佣)people
without

experience.I
returned

based.I
walked
in
and
told
the
boss

wanted

be
a
hotshot

they
should
keep
me
in
mind
if
they
needed
anyone.
The
very
next
day
I
got
a
note
saying
the
Hotshots
were
looking
for
me!A
woman
on
their
crew
got
injured
and
they
needed
a
replacement...they
were
headed
to
a
fire
that
day.They
thought
of
me
because
I
had
just
been
there
the
day
before.
We
arrived
at
the
fire
near
Provo,Utah
at
about
10
pm
that
night.We
ended
up
working
40
hours,digging
fire
lines.I
think
I
fell
asleep
standing
up
against
my
tool
at
one
point.
My
feet
were
covered
in
blisters(水泡)and
the
helicopter
that
was
supposed
to
pick
us
up
at
the
top
of
the
mountain
broke
down
and
we
had
to
walk
miles!
To
my
delight,the
crew
liked
me
and
hired
me
after

also
met
my
husband
that
night!How
cool
is
that!

The
term“liberal
bubble”(自由泡沫)
suggests
that
people
usually
surround
themselves
with
those
who
hold
similar
opinions
to
them.Think
about
your
own
social
media
platforms(社交媒体平台)—who
your
Facebook
friends
are,and
who
you
follow
on
Instagram
and
Twitter.You
probably
share
a
lot
of
opinions
with
most,if
not
all,of
them.However,if
you're
used
to
everyone
agreeing
with
you
all
the
time,it
becomes
difficult
to
have
a
good
conversation
with
someone
who
disagrees.
The
world
is
full
of
experiences,realities,and
history.It
would
be
naive(幼稚的)
to
believe
that
only
your
views
are
correct.We
should
always
make
space
for
the
possibility
that
someone
who
looks
different
might
have
something
valuable
to
offer
the
world.Carefully
listening
and
being
curious
about
different
perspectives,in
most
cases,can
help
build
bridges
instead
of
walls.We
all
benefit
when
we
listen
carefully—even
if
we
finally
conclude
that
we
disagree.
The
world
we
live
in
is
increasingly
divided,especially
on
social
media,which
means
that
for
most,the
only
opinions
we
hear
are
ones
that
agree
with
our
own
thoughts.So
how
can
we
have
productive
discussions
with
people
who
think
differently
than
us?First,follow
people
who
don't
look
like
you
on
social
media.Follow
people
with
different
skills.Follow
people
of
many
different
nationalities.Just
reading
their
day?to?day
thoughts,in
addition
to
seeing
their
bigger
moments,will
help
you
learn
about
worlds
you
didn't
even
know.It'll
help
you
understand
where
people
are
coming
from
when
they
do
or
say
something
you
might
push
back
on
at
the
beginning.As
far
as
having
productive
discussions,don't
try
to
win
others
over
to
your
side.Just
listen
to
each
other.Respect
your
differences.Another
way
is
to
join
a
club
or
organization
where
many
people
have
different
views
and
are
willing
to
debate
with
love.
【语篇解读】 语篇类型是议论文,主题语境是社会文化。人们习惯与自己观点一致的人为伍,这种倾向会让人们陷入思维和见识的局限性。如何与意见不同的人交流?本文给出了一些建议。

people
very
likely
to
do
when
communicating

the
Internet?
A.Ignore
views
that
disagree
with
theirs.

into
the
trap
of
poor
conflicting
opinions.
C.Follow
various
friends
on
different
platforms.
D.Share
their
opinions
with
people
who
disagree.
A [推理判断题。根据第一段的“You
probably
share
a
lot

discussed
in
Paragraph

have
different
views.
C.The
importance
of
being
exposed
to
different
views.
D.How
to
communicate

14.What
does
a
productive
discussion
mean
according
to
the
text?
A.The
two

reach
an

finally
agrees
with
your
thoughts.
C.You
discuss
with
people
who
are
wiser
than
you.
D.You
get
valuable
information
during
the
discussion.
D [推理判断题。根据最后一段可知,所谓的具有创造性的讨论指的就是在讨论的过程中仔细倾听对方不同的观点,尊重不同,不在乎讨论的结果。也就是说,要在讨论中得到有价值的新的信息。]
15.What
does
the
text
suggest
people
do
about
having
productive
discussions?
A.Keep
away
from
social
media.
B.Get
involved
in
others'
daily
lives.
C.Avoid
expressing
your
own
opinions.
D.Realize
why
people
behave
in
a
certain
way.
D [推理判断题。根据最后一段的“It'll
help
you
understand
where
people
are
coming
from
when
they
do
or
say
something

might
push
back
on

Ⅱ.阅读七选五(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
I
remember
my
first
day
at
Usdan
Summer
Camp.I
had
a
general
idea
of
where
the
room
for
my
Creative
Writing
class
was,but
I'd
had
trouble
finding
it.
16
I
was
climbing
some
stairs
when
I
saw
a
lady
in
a
blue
Usdan
shirt
helping
a
student.By
this
point,I
was
very
tired
and
filled
with
fear.
17
M15.Same
as
me.
Relieved(宽慰的),I
stated,“I'm
also
looking
for
M15.”
“Creative
Writing,right?”
“Yup,mind
if
we
look
together?”
Her
name
was
Jorden.She
was
slim(苗条的),around
my
height.We
agreed
to
look
for
our
class
together.The
lady
in
the
blue
shirt
gave
us
directions.
18
Finally,after
passing
the
same
violin
practice
room
five
times,the
instructor
came
out
and
greeted
us
with
the
obvious
question:“
19

“Kind
of,”we
said.“Any
idea
where
M15
is?”
Clearly,we
were
very
close.All
we
had
to
do
was
go
down
some
steps
and
turn
right.
20
I
didn't
know
how
the
teacher
would
react.She
wasn't
mad;she
just
smiled
and
said
that
a
lot
of
people
get
to
class
late
because
of
its
location(位置).Some
even
arrived
after
us.
After
that
day,Jorden
and
I
remained
friends.We'd
always
laugh
about
how
we
met,and
what
our
first
day
was
like.
A.Are
you
two
lost?
B.Which
room
are
you
looking
for?
C.But
neither
of
us
understood
them.
D.Even
so,we
were
twenty
minutes
late
for
class.
E.It
was
comforting
to
know
we
were
in
the
same
boat.
F.Then
I
heard
which
room
the
student
was
trying
to
find.
G.There
were
trees
everywhere,and
they
all
looked
the
same.

room与本空后面的M15相对应。]
18.C [C项与上文中的“The
lady
in
the
blue
shirt
gave
us
directions”形成转折关系,且C项中的them指代directions。]
19.A [由本空前面的question可推断,本空应填一个问句,因此A项和B项符合文本特征;又从下文中作者和Jorden的回答Kind
of可推断,A项符合语意。]
20.D [D项中的“twenty
minutes
late
for
class”与下文中的“get
to
class
late”相照应。]

o'clock
in
the
morning
and
Mr
Fairfax
was
really
tired.He
had
been
driving
for
over
five
hours,heading
for
a
small
town
far
away
from
home.The
weather
was
clear
but
it
was
dark
and
Mr
Fairfax
could
not
find
a
motel
to
spend
the
night.Completely
exhausted,he
decided
to
stop
by
the
roadside
for
a
few
hours'
sleep
at
the
wheel
of
his
car.He
fell
asleep
almost
the
moment
he
closed
his
eyes.But
soon
he
was
awakened
by
a
man
tapping
on
the
car
window.“I
say,you
don't
happen
to
know
the
time,do
you?”
the
stranger
asked.
Mr
Fairfax
wound
down
the
window
and
thrust
his
head
out.“It's
around
one
o'clock,”he
answered.Then
he
wound
up
his
window
and
soon
fell
back
into
a
deep
slumber.
Half
an
hour
later,another
guy
came
up
and
knocked
on
his
window
who
also
inquired
about
the
time.Once
again,Mr
Fairfax
gathered
his
thoughts
and
told
him
that
it
was
just
after
one
thirty.
When
the
same
thing
happened
yet
again,Mr
Fairfax
became
increasingly
irritated.Sleep?deprived,he
began
to
raise
his
voice
at
the
passer?by:“It's
two
o'clock,God
damn
it!And
why
can't
you
get
yourself
a
watch
like
the
rest
of
us?”
This
time
when
he
was
winding
up
the
window,Mr
Fairfax
figured
out
how
to
make
sure
no
one
else
disturbed
him.He
found
some
paper
and
a
pencil
and
wrote
a
note
that
he
placed
on
the
windscreen
of
his
car.It
said:“I
don't
know
what
time
it
is!”
Amused
by
his
good
idea,he
happily
drifted
off
back
to
sleep
again.
Not
long
afterwards,the
note
was
spotted
by
a
policeman
on
his
night
patrol.Intent
on
fulfilling
his
duty
to
assist
motorists,he
tapped
on
Mr
Fairfax's
car
window.
“Well,sir,”
the
policeman
said.“Now
it
is
five
past
three!”

As
most
people
know,in
the
past
few
years,sandstorms
have
swept
across
many
cities
and
areas
of
North
China,polluting
the
air
and
disturbing
daily
lives
of
human
beings.People
look
dirty
and
suffer
many
kinds
of
illnesses,such
as
breath
difficulty.The
sandstorm
is
such
a
serious
problem
that
it
has
not
only
undermined
the
industrial
and
agricultural
development
of
our
country
but
also
caused
a
lot
of
trouble
to
the
living
conditions
of
the
Chinese
people.It
is
expected
that
effective
(有效的)
measures
should
be
taken
as
soon
as
possible
through
our
joint
efforts
to
limit
its
occurrence.
So
what
should
we
do
with
the
frightening
sandstorms?
Some
experts
put
forward
practical
suggestions
as
follows:
For
one
thing,more
funds
(基金)
ought
to
be
put
into
tree
planting
and
forest
protection
so
as
to
keep
more
water
resources
within
the
surface
of
the
earth.For
another,governments
of
all
countries
should
make
laws
on
environmental
protection.For
example,banning
the
use
of
throw?away
chopsticks
and
punishing
illegal
tree
cutting.Scientists
should
also
study
and
find
ways
to
cut
down
the
degree
of
its
destruction
and
to
improve
the
whole
environment.
How
people
look
forward
to
sunny
days
with
little

(微风)
touching
their
faces
now
and
forever!Nevertheless,I
am
fully
confident
that
the
golden
days
can
come

long
as
everyone

I
always

to

seemed
exciting
to

like
to

In

I

said
yes!
The
training
was
a
week
long.I
learned
about
the
different
types
of
fire
crews(工作人员)and
I
remember
the
instructor
saying
hotshots
were
the

said
they

and
that
you

in

to

was

didn't
want
to

However,hotshot

don't

the

I
wanted

they
should
keep

in

if
they

The

the

day.They

The
term“liberal
bubble”(自由泡沫)
suggests
that
people
usually
surround
themselves
with
those
who
hold
similar
opinions
to
them.Think
about
your
own
social
media
platforms(社交媒体平台)—who
your
Facebook
friends
are,and
who
you
follow
on
Instagram
and
Twitter.You
probably
share
a
lot
of
opinions
with
most,if
not
all,of
them.However,if
you're
used
to
everyone
agreeing
with
you
all
the
time,it
becomes
difficult
to
have
a
good
conversation
with
someone
who
disagrees.
The
world
is
full
of
experiences,realities,and
history.It
would
be
naive(幼稚的)
to
believe
that
only
your
views
are
correct.We
should
always
make
space
for
the
possibility
that
someone
who
looks
different
might
have
something
valuable
to
offer
the
world.Carefully
listening
and
being
curious
about
different
perspectives,in
most
cases,can
help
build
bridges
instead
of
walls.We
all
benefit
when
we
listen
carefully—even
if
we
finally
conclude
that
we
disagree.
The
world
we
live
in
is
increasingly
divided,especially
on
social
media,which
means
that
for
most,the
only
opinions
we
hear
are
ones
that
agree
with
our
own
thoughts.So
how
can
we
have
productive
discussions
with
people
who
think
differently
than
us?First,follow
people
who
don't
look
like
you
on
social
media.Follow
people
with
different
skills.Follow
people
of
many
different
nationalities.Just
reading
their
day?to?day
thoughts,in
addition
to
seeing
their
bigger
moments,will
help
you
learn
about
worlds
you
didn't
even
know.It'll
help
you
understand
where
people
are
coming
from
when
they
do
or
say
something
you
might
push
back
on
at
the
beginning.As
far
as
having
productive
discussions,don't
try
to
win
others
over
to
your
side.Just
listen
to
each
other.Respect
your
differences.Another
way
is
to
join
a
club
or
organization
where
many
people
have
different
views
and
are
willing
to
debate
with
love.

Ⅱ.阅读七选五(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
I
remember
my
first
day
at
Usdan
Summer
Camp.I
had
a
general
idea
of
where
the
room
for
my
Creative
Writing
class
was,but
I'd
had
trouble
finding
it.
16
I
was
climbing
some
stairs
when
I
saw
a
lady
in
a
blue
Usdan
shirt
helping
a
student.By
this
point,I
was
very
tired
and
filled
with
fear.
17
M15.Same
as
me.
Relieved(宽慰的),I
stated,“I'm
also
looking
for
M15.”
“Creative
Writing,right?”
“Yup,mind
if
we
look
together?”
Her
name
was
Jorden.She
was
slim(苗条的),around
my
height.We
agreed
to
look
for
our
class
together.The
lady
in
the
blue
shirt
gave
us
directions.
18
Finally,after
passing
the
same
violin
practice
room
five
times,the
instructor
came
out
and
greeted
us
with
the
obvious
question:“
19

“Kind
of,”we
said.“Any
idea
where
M15
is?”
Clearly,we
were
very
close.All
we
had
to
do
was
go
down
some
steps
and
turn
right.
20
I
didn't
know
how
the
teacher
would
react.She
wasn't
mad;she
just
smiled
and
said
that
a
lot
of
people
get
to
class
late
because
of
its
location(位置).Some
even
arrived
after
us.
After
that
day,Jorden
and
I
remained
friends.We'd
always
laugh
about
how
we
met,and
what
our
first
day
was
like.
A.Are
you
two
lost?
B.Which
room
are
you
looking
for?
C.But
neither
of
us
understood
them.
D.Even
so,we
were
twenty
minutes
late
for
class.
E.It
was
comforting
to
know
we
were
in
the
same
boat.
F.Then
I
heard
which
room
the
student
was
trying
to
find.
G.There
were
trees
everywhere,and
they
all
looked
the
same.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
It
was
shortly
after
one
o'clock
in
the
morning
and
Mr
Fairfax
was
really
tired.He
had
been
driving
for
over
five
hours,heading
for
a
small
town
far
away
from
home.The
weather
was
clear
but
it
was
dark
and
Mr
Fairfax
could
not
find
a
motel
to
spend
the
night.Completely
exhausted,he
decided
to
stop
by
the
roadside
for
a
few
hours'
sleep
at
the
wheel
of
his
car.He
fell
asleep
almost
the
moment
he
closed
his
eyes.But
soon
he
was
awakened
by
a
man
tapping
on
the
car
window.“I
say,you
don't
happen
to
know
the
time,do
you?”
the
stranger
asked.
Mr
Fairfax
wound
down
the
window
and
thrust
his
head
out.“It's
around
one
o'clock,”he
answered.Then
he
wound
up
his
window
and
soon
fell
back
into
a
deep
slumber.
Half
an
hour
later,another
guy
came
up
and
knocked
on
his
window
who
also
inquired
about
the
time.Once
again,Mr
Fairfax
gathered
his
thoughts
and
told
him
that
it
was
just
after
one
thirty.
When
the
same
thing
happened
yet
again,Mr
Fairfax
became
increasingly
irritated.Sleep?deprived,he
began
to
raise
his
voice
at
the
passer?by:“It's
two
o'clock,God
damn
it!And
why
can't
you
get
yourself
a
watch
like
the
rest
of
us?”
This
time
when
he
was
winding
up
the
window,Mr
Fairfax
figured
out
how
to
make
sure
no
one
else
disturbed
him.He
found
some
paper
and
a
pencil
and
wrote
a
note
that
he
placed
on
the
windscreen
of
his
car.It
said:“I
don't
know
what
time
it
is!”
Amused
by
his
good
idea,he
happily
drifted
off
back
to
sleep
again.
Not
long
afterwards,the
note
was
spotted
by
a
policeman
on
his
night
patrol.Intent
on
fulfilling
his
duty
to
assist
motorists,he
tapped
on
Mr
Fairfax's
car
window.
“Well,sir,”
the
policeman
said.“Now
it
is
five
past
three!”

down._______________________________________________
