Period 1 Reading I Teaching Plan(教学设计)
东明一中 贾卫宽
教材分析:
This is the first teaching period of this unit, of which the purpose is to increase students’ awareness of the importance knowing about first aid.
教学重点:
1. Let students know about burns and firs treatment for burns.
2. Have students learn different reading skills.
教学目标:
1. Get students to learn some words, expressions, first aid knowledge and its treatment for burns.
2. Develop students’ reading ability and skills.
3. Develop students’ sense of self-protection and virtue about helping people. Meanwhile let students learn to respect the medicine science and cherish lives.
教学过程:
Step 1: Lead –in (2-3′)
Ask the students the question “What things at home can be dangerous ”to lead them to the first aid problem.
(The students may answer these: electric wires, hot water, knives, gas, glass, etc.)
(过渡与指令)Then teacher says “Since there are so many things at home are dangerous, you should give first aid to the person who get injured with these dangerous things. Let’s imagine a situation like this (show the slide 3 and ask students what to do with it)
(After a while, show the slide 4&5 to the students to check)
(过渡与指令) So this is a simple way of dealing with the situation about the burn with hot water, but in fact, there are a lot of things we should care about. Well, next we’ll learn a passage about first aid for burns. (转入课题,slide 6)
Step 2 Reading(20-25′)
Task 1:(过渡与指令) Class, now we read our first task and do as the words(showing the slide 7), then check the answer(show the key)
Teacher: Skim the whole passage and try to order the five small titles
Task 2: (过渡与指令) Read the first para to finish the task2: the exercise 1.(showing the slide8,9); read the second para to do the exercise2(showing the slide10), the third para, the exercise 3(show the slide11,12).
Task 3: (过渡与指令) Very good, you’ve learned so many information about the first aid, now please read para 3 and 4 carefully and fill in the form with proper words.(showing the slide 13 and 14)
Task 4: (过渡与指令) Well, you are so hard-working that you’ve known so much knowledge about the burns, now could you please read the para 5 carefully and try to judge the statements T or F.( showing the slide 15)
Teacher: Class, reading this part, you are supposed to understand how to give first aid for burns. I want you to challenge yourselves and try doing with two little difficult questions.( slides 16-17)
(Find similar meaning sentence and translation, write down the phrases “stick to 沾在……上;. squeeze out 挤出,榨出” on the blackboard”)
Step 3 Post-reading (consolidation)(5′)
(过渡与指令) Wonderful, class, you’ve so great to learn how to give first aid for burns, you are so great! Now, let’s try to recall what we’ve learn just now. Please look at the short text and try to fill the blanks with proper words. Quickly, please.(show the slide 18)
Step 4. (过渡与指令) Dear students, we’ve learned a lot about the first aid, especially the treatment for the burns. If you see someone fall down and get injured, will you give your hand to the people and give first aid if necessary. If your answer is yes, and tell us how; if not, could your tell us the reason (show the slides 19 ) (8-10′)
Have a free talk. Time permitting, get a few students to tell everyone the how and the reason. (At last, show the slide 20, point out the meaning of the free talk: Always be ready to help others who are in danger, using the knowledge about first aid as possible as you can)
Teacher: Keep firmly in mind that people’s life is the most precious thing and never give up any chance of giving first aid.
Step 5: Homework (slide 21)
1. Recite the last part of the text.
2. Try to memorize more useful words and expressions.
