Qian Xuesen, one of the most famous physicists in China, was born in Shanghai in 1922. As a young boy, he was interested in science and studied hard, hoping to make China strong . In 1934, he went to America for further education. With the help of his teacher and through his own hard work, Qian soon became famous in America. In 1948, he planned to return and help build a new China, but failed for some reasons. It was not until 1955 that his dream came true.
Back in China, Qian devoted all his time to the science and made great contributions in many scientific fields, especially in space science and technology.
