B
Growing
up
in
my
household
meant
often
hearing
live
music.
When
I
was
six
years
old,
I
took
a
traditional
Irish
step
dance
class.
I
fell
in
love
and
stuck
with
it
for
the
next
seven
years.
During
that
time
my
father
also
became
more
involved
in
the
Irish
music
world,
so
he
would
play,
and
I
would
dance.
My
ethnic
heritage
(族裔归属)
is
German
and
Irish,
but
because
I
was
surrounded
by
traditional
Irish
music
and
dance
in
my
home,
I
have
grown
to
be
more
interested
in
and
connected
to
my
Irish
heritage.
When
I
started
interning
(实习)
for
the
Folklife
Festival,
I
became
interested
in
traditional
Basque
music
and
dance
and
I
learned
that
their
experience
with
dance
is
very
similar
to
my
own.
There
are
so
far
over
170
Basque
organizations
in
24
countries,
with
a
greater
population
of
Basques
outside
of
the
Basque
country
than
in
it.
The
separation
they
experience
from
their
homeland
is
both
physical
and
psychological,
so
being
part
of
a
group
with
the
same
interests
is
an
important
social
support
system.
These
organizations
contribute
to
the
continuation
of
Basque
culture,
language,
and
community,
and
encourage
future
generations
to
learn
about
their
ethnic
heritage.
One
of
the
ways
they
achieve
this
is
through
dance.
While
learning
and
performing
Basque
dances,
they
connect
to
their
heritage,
experience
a
part
of
their
homeland,
preserve
Basque
culture,
and
create
connections
and
friendships
that
last
a
lifetime.
Californian
Valerie
Arrechea
began
teaching
alongside
her
father
at
the
age
of
thirteen
and
on
her
own
at
sixteen.For
her,
dance
is
her
preferred
expression
of
heritage;
it
provides
a
way
to
be
proud
of
her
Basque
heritage.
The
dance
performances
of
North
American
Basque
organizations
have
developed
the
interest
of
non?Basque
Americans
as
well.
Janet
Iribarne
from
the
Basque
Dancers
explained
that
their
organization
is
open
to
anyone,
and
after
seeing
her
group
perform,
several
of
her
non?Basque
friends
have
developed
their
own
love
of
Basque
traditions
as
well.
24.What
is
the
reason
for
the
author's
preference
for
Irish
dance?
A.Her
dance
teacher.
B.Her
love
of
Irish
music.
C.Her
interning
experience.
D.Her
family's
strong
root
in
dance.
25.What
do
we
know
about
Basque
people?
A.Most
of
them
live
abroad.
B.Their
culture
is
being
lost.
C.They
live
in
poor
conditions.
D.Their
population
is
increasing.
26.What
is
the
purpose
of
Basque
organizations?
A.To
help
Basques
in
need.
B.To
preserve
Basque
culture.
C.To
provide
medical
treatment
for
Basques.
D.To
support
overseas
Basque
children
for
education.
27.What's
non?Basque
Americans'
attitude
towards
Basque
dance?
A.They
show
no
interest
in
it.
B.They
find
it
difficult
to
learn.
C.They
are
enthusiastic
about
it.
D.They
are
concerned
about
its
future.
C
You
know
that
Grandparents
Day,
taking
place
the
Sunday
after
Labor
Day
every
year,
is
a
holiday
for
celebrating
your
parents'
parents.
But
how
did
the
holiday
come
to
be?
Did
it
originate
out
of
a
sweet,
sincere
wish
at
heart...or
was
it
all
a
giant
marketing
plan
to
sell
more
goods?
It
is,
in
fact,
the
former.
When
Marian
McQuade
first
thought
of
the
idea
for
the
holiday,
and
commercialism
(商业主义)
was
the
last
thing
on
her
mind.
In
1956,
McQuade
was
trying
to
plan
a
celebration
for
the
elderly
members
of
her
community.
She
made
the
sad
discovery
that
many
of
the
senior
citizens
in
the
nursing
home
didn't
often
receive
visits
from
their
families.
So
she
set
a
day
to
appreciate
grandparents.
In
any
case,
McQuade
never
wanted
the
holiday
to
be
a_money_grab.
Mother's
Day
actually
has
a
similar
story;
in
fact,
its
founder
wanted
it
discontinued
in
the
1920s
after
she
saw
how
commercialized
it
had
become.
However,
it
didn't
stop
card
companies
from
getting
excited
about
the
future
of
a
new
holiday.
Hallmark
predicted
that,
by
1983,
Grandparents
Day
would
become
the
sixth
highest
card?selling
holiday.But
to
their
disappointment,
it
never
became
a
commercial
holiday.
Many
families
have
much
more
meaningful
ways
of
celebrating
the
holiday.
Danielle
Kirsch
celebrates
by
trying
a
new
activity
every
year
with
her
grandmother
Elsie.
“This
year,
we'll
be
painting
together,”
she
tells
RD.com.
Molly
Arnold's
grandmother
is
no
longer
around,
yet
she
still
finds
a
way
to
honor
the
holiday.
Arnold
is
the
Chief
Operations
Officer
of
the
Frank
and
Barbara
Broyles
Foundation,
a
charity
she
created
in
memory
of
her
grandmother,
Barbara
Broyles,
who
passed
away
from
Alzheimer's
disease
(阿尔茨海默症).
However,
that
the
holiday
is
not
about
commercialism
doesn't
mean
you
can't
exchange
gifts.
Spruce.com
actually
suggests
that
grandparents
give
their
grandchildren
gifts,
especially
gifts
that
“honor
family
traditions”.
For
example,
a
meaningful
gift
from
a
grandpa
to
his
granddaughter
would
be
actually
a
birthday
gift,
but
we
think
it's
a
perfect
Grandparents
Day
idea
too.
28.Why
did
McQuade
found
Grandparents
Day?
A.To
grow
her
own
business.
B.To
realize
her
parents'
dream.
C.To
remember
her
own
grandparents.
D.To
call
on
people
to
care
for
the
elderly.
29.What
does
the
underlined
part
“a
money
grab”
in
Paragraph
3
probably
mean?
A.A
way
to
make
big
money.
B.A
celebration
of
one's
wealth.
C.A
chance
to
give
others
money.
D.A
deal
between
family
members.
30.Hallmark
thought
Grandparents
Day
________.
A.wouldn't
grow
popular
among
young
people
B.would
become
a
commercial
holiday
C.would
turn
into
a
global
holiday
D.wouldn't
last
long
31.What
is
Paragraph
4
mainly
about?
A.Meaningful
ways
of
celebrating
the
holiday.
B.People's
attitudes
towards
the
holiday.
C.The
effort
to
carry
out
the
holiday.
D.The
future
of
the
holiday.
D
Life
can
sometimes
feel
like
it's
uncontrollably
toward
disasters—just
like
the
feeling
you
get
when
you've
lost
control
of
your
moving
car.
It's
that
feeling
of
complete
helplessness
and
panic.
While
we
may
be
feeling
overwhelmed
(压垮的)
with
everything
going
on
in
our
lives
right
now,
there
are
still
some
steps
we
can
take
to
regain
a
sense
of
control
of
our
lives.
The
first
thing
we
need
to
do
is
accept.
It's
a
fact
that
one
of
the
biggest
sources
of
feeling
overwhelmed
is
the
expectation
that
we
ought
not
to
be
overwhelmed
in
the
first
place!
But
actually,
when
we're
feeling
overwhelmed,
it
only
means
we
are
living,
breathing
human
beings.
Life
is
like
a
roller
coaster
ride
with
its
ups,
downs,
twists,
and
turns.
It's
also
like
the
alternation
(交替)
of
the
seasons.
Sometimes
we
forget
this.
When
we
forget
it,
no
matter
how
much
we
try,
we
may
not
be
able
to
control
our
reality.
But
we
can
adapt
our
expectations
to
match
our
reality.
This
may
mean
adjusting
our
goals
and
tasks,
and
quitting
projects.
Adapting
may
feel
like
failure
in
the
moment,
like
giving
up,
but
this
ability
is
an
opportunity
to
create
success
in
the
long
term.
Working
with
reality
rather
than
against
it
can
give
us
the
ability
to
think
and
hope.
Sometimes,
when
we're
feeling
overwhelmed,
we
can
easily
have
an
“all
or
nothing”
idea.
We
may
disregard
(不顾)
the
things
we
manage
to
accomplish
in
the
midst
of
feeling
overwhelmed.
However,
celebrating
our
small
wins
creates
space
for
gratitude
in
our
hearts.
Tony
Robbins,
personal
growth
leader
and
author,
said,
“Trade
your
expectations
for
appreciation
and
your
whole
world
changes
in
an
instant.”
Celebrating
wins
(whatever
size)
allows
us
to
clearly
see
the
progress
we
are
making.
Feeling
overwhelmed
may
be
a
part
of
life,
but
if
we
just
step
back
a
bit,
we
can
see
the
ups
and
downs
of
our
roller
coaster
ride
are
just
called
LIFE!
32.Why
did
the
author
describe
life
as
a
roller
coaster
ride
and
the
seasons?
A.To
show
life
is
full
of
challenges.
B.To
suggest
we
should
have
fun
now
and
then.
C.To
suggest
we
should
learn
to
adjust
to
changes.
D.To
show
feeling
overwhelmed
is
a
natural
part
of
life.
33.What
should
we
do
when
we
are
unable
to
handle
real
situations?
A.Give
up
our
hope.
B.Change
our
plans.
C.Be
against
the
reality.
D.Try
it
again
and
again.
34.What
can
we
learn
from
Paragraph
4?
A.Approving
of
small
success
benefits
life.
B.Small
wins
make
people
go
to
extremes.
C.Stopping
dreaming
helps
people
succeed.
D.Small
expectations
are
better
than
big
wins.
35.What
is
the
best
title
for
the
passage?
A.Control
Our
Life
B.Get
Rid
of
Difficulties
C.Accept
and
Adapt
to
Reality
D.Overcome
Feeling
Overwhelmed

__37__:
Screen
light
tricks
your
body
into
thinking
it's
daytime.
It
causes
the
hormone
(激素)
which
helps
regulate
sleep
to
stop
working.
Consider
limiting
screen
time
to
an
hour
or
two
before
bed.
Late?night
eating:
It
can
affect
sleep,
for
example,
lying
down
shortly
after
eating
a
heavy
meal
can
cause
heartburn.
__38__.
Working
right
up
until
bedtime:
__39__,
if
you're
thinking
about
work.
Instead
of
working
before
bed,
do
something
relaxing
like
listening
to
music
or
taking
a
warm
bath.
Getting
up
late
on
the
weekends:
__40__,
though
it
might
feel
good.
Consistency
is
key
to
developing
sleep
patterns
that
improve
the
quality
of
your
sleep.
So,
consider
sticking
to
the
same
sleep
schedule
even
on
the
weekends.
A.Extra

B.Have

C.Enough

E.It's

I'm

W:How

My

W:How

to

the
coins
that
passed
through
my

searching
for
rare
and
old
ones.

collection?
M:Sometimes
in
my
pocket

but
usually
I
buy
them
from
other
collectors
or
trade
for
others.
W:What
does
your
collection
consist
of
now?
M:I
have
over
5,000
valuable
coins
which
have
doubled
in
value.
W:You
seem
very
business?like
in
your
hobby.

do
you
think
so?
But
my
hobby
is
mainly
based
on
interest.

you
for

In
many
countries
now
the
drivers
and
front
passenger
are
told
to
wear
seat
belts.
Most
doctors
believe
that
seat
belts
save
people
from
being
seriously
hurt
in
an
accident.
But
there
are
some
people
who
still
think
that
it
is
more
dangerous
to
wear
a
seat
belt
than
not
to
wear
one.
They
say
that
a
seat
belt
may
trap
one
in
a
car
that
is
burning,
or
that
has
fallen
into
a
river
or
the
sea
and
is
sinking.
But
less
than
half
of
car
accidents
lead
to
fire
or
sinking,
and
in
any
case,
a
seat
belt
may
easily
save
a
person
from
being
killed.
He
or
she
is
able
to
undo
the
seat
belt
immediately
and
get
out
of
the
car
that
is
on
fire
or
sinking.
Some
people
who
are
against
seat
belts
also
sometimes
say
that
without
one,
one
may
be
thrown
right
out
of
a
car
if
an
accident
happens.
But
doctors
will
tell
you
that
that
is
the
last
thing
one
wants
to
happen:
if
one
is
thrown
out
of
a
car,
one
hits
something,
usually
the
road,
and
usually
hard
and
at
a
high
speed.
So
it
is
better
to
remain
inside
in
the
case
of
an
accident.
Now,
I
hope
you
can
see
why
it
is
necessary
to
wear
a
seat
belt.
