From
the
earliest
times,
man
has
been
interested
in
art.
People
have
often
worked
together
to
collect
and
save
the
world’s
art
treasures.
Fine
art
treasures
from
many
countries
are
kept
in
an
art
museum
called
the
Louvre
in
Paris,
France.
The
works
of
art
have
been
collected
by
the
people
of
France
over
many
centuries.
The
Louvre
has
not
always
been
a
museum.
The
first
building
was
a
fort(炮台).
In
1190,
it
was
the
king’s
castle
with
high
walls
and
a
round
tower.
It
had
a
moat
to
prevent
his
enemies
from
walking
in.
Over
the
years,
the
number
of
buildings
around
the
castle
grew.
By
1350,
the
castle
was
no
longer
needed
as
a
fort.
The
Louvre
became
a
palace
home
for
French
kings
and
queens.
During
times
of
peace,
new
treasures
were
brought
in.
During
days
of
war,
many
treasures
were
stolen,
and
the
buildings
were
damaged.
When
Francis
Ⅰ
became
King
of
France
in
1515,
he
brought
in
artists
from
many
countries.
One
of
the
artists
was
Leonardo
Da
Vinci
from
Italy.
Da
Vinci’s
Mona
Lisa
is
the
best
known
painting
in
the
museum
today.
In
1793,
the
Louvre
became
a
public
museum,
just
as
it
is
now.
It
is
a
place
where
art
treasures
have
been
saved
for
everyone
to
enjoy.
4.
What’s
the
passage
mainly
about?
A.
An
art
museum
called
the
Louvre.
B.
An
Italian
artist
named
Leonardo
Da

C.
A
king
of
France
named
Francis
Ⅰ.
D.
The
best
known
painting
in
the
Louvre.
5.
Why
is
it
good
for
great
art
to
be
kept
in
public
museums?
A.
It
helps
people
remember
who
the
King
of
France
is.
B.
It
keeps
people
out
of
the
palaces.
C.
It
gives
everyone
a
chance
to
enjoy
good
art.
D.
It
helps
people
to
know
who
the
greatest
artist
is.
6.
What
can
we
know
from
the
passage?
A.
It
is
not
possible
for
treasures
to
be
stolen.
B.
Old
forts
always
make
the
best
museums.
C.
Great
art
should
be
shared
with
all
the
people.
D.
King
Francis
I
of
France
brought
in
artists
from
an
old
fort.
7.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“moat”
probably
mean?
A.
A
high
tower
built
in
former
times
where
soldiers
watched
out
for
enemies.
B.
A
long
and
deep
ditch(沟)
dug

Mary
Anning
was
an
English
fossil(化石)
collector,
dealer
and
paleontologist(古生物学家).
Her
fossil
hunting
helped
change
the
way
people
thought
about
the
world.
Mary
was
born
into
a
poor
family
in
England
on
May
21,
1799.
She
lived
in
the
seaside
town
of
Lyme
Regis,
in
Dorset.
The
family
had
nine
children.
Only
Mary
and
her
brother
Joseph
grew
up.
Mary’s
father
took
his
children
along
the
beach.
They
picked
up
shells
and
stones
to
sell
to
visitors.
Mary
did
not
go
to
school
much.
Her
family
was
too
poor.
And
schools
did
not
teach
children
about
fossils.
Mary
could
read
and
write.
She
taught
herself.
She
learned
about
rocks
and
how
bodies
are
made.
In
1811
when
Mary
and
Joseph
were
fossil
hunting,
Joseph
saw
a
bone
sticking
out
of
the
rock.
Mary
had
a
hammer
to
chip
away
at
the
rock.
Very
carefully
she
uncovered
it.
She
found
the
first
complete
fossil
of
the
ichthyosaur(鱼龙).
Since
then,
Mary
became
crazy
about
fossil
hunting.
She
liked
to
hunt
on
the
beach
after
a
storm.
The
wind,
rain
and
waves
made
the
rocks
crumble.
It
was
easy
to
spot
fossils.
Most
days
Mary
went
fossil
hunting
with
her
dog,
Tray.
Rich
friends
helped
Mary
by
selling
fossils
for
her.
They
sent
her
money.
Scientists
wrote
letters
and
came
to
see
her.
One
good
friend
was
William
Buckland,
a
professor
at
Oxford
University.
Mary
also
opened
a
shop
to
sell
fossils,
stones
and
shells.
She
chatted
with
visitors.
Mary
Anning
died
in
1847.
How
evolution(进化)
works
was
explained
by
Charles
Darwin
not
long
after
Mary
died.
Her
fossils
had
helped
scientists
understand
how
things
began.
8.
Why
did
Mary’s
father
take
his
children
along
the
beach?
A.
To
enjoy
life.
B.
To
make
a
living.
C.
To
look
for
fossils.
D.
To
teach
them
about
fossils.
9.
What
can
we
learn
about
Mary?
A.
Her
father
was
a
paleontologist.
B.
Her
father
educated
her
at
home.
C.
She
had
nine
brothers
and
sisters
in
all.
D.
She
might
be
popular
at
that
time.
10.
Who
was
the
first
to
catch
sight
of
the
rock
containing
the
first
complete
ichthyosaur
fossil?
A.
Charles
Darwin.
B.
Mary’s
dog.
C.
Joseph.
D.
Mary.
11.
What
can
we
infer
from
the
passage?
A.
Mary
finally
explained
the
theory
about
evolution.
B.
Unfortunately,
Mary
passed
away
in
her
fifties.
C.
Darwin
once
worked
at
Oxford
University
as
a
paleontologist.
D.
It
was
Mary’s
fossil
hunting
that
contributed
to
the
way
people
thought
about
the
world.
D
Just
50
years
ago
Manx
seemed
to
be
on
the
point
of
disappearing.
“If
you
spoke
Manx
in
a
pub
on
the
island
in
the
1960s,
it
was
considered
provocative
and
you
were
likely
to
find
yourself
in
a
fight,”
recalls
Brain
Stowell,
a
76-year-old
islander
who
has
written
a
Manx-language
novel,
The
Vampire
Murders,
and
presents
a
radio
show
on
Manx
Radio
spreading
the
language
every
Sunday.
The
language
itself
is
similar
to
the
Gaelic
tongues
spoken
in
the
island’s
neighbours,
Ireland
and
Scotland.
A
century
ago,
“Moghrey
mie”
would
have
been
commonly
heard
instead
of
good
morning
on
the
island.
“In
the
1860s
there
were
thousands
of
Manx
people
who
couldn’t
speak
English,”
says
Stowell.
“But
only
a
century
later
it
was
considered
to
be
so
backward
to
speak
the
language
that
there
were
stories
of
Manx
speakers
getting
stones
thrown
at
them
in
the
towns.
I
learned
it
myself
from
one
of
the
last
surviving
native
speakers
back
in
the
1950s.”
Recession
in
the
mid
19th
century
forced
many
Manx
people
to
leave
the
island
to
seek
work
in
England.
And
parents
were
not
willing
to
pass
the
language
down
through
the
generations,
with
many
believing
that
to
have
Manx
as
a
first
language
would
affect
job
opportunities
overseas.
There
was
a
fall
in
the
language.
By
the
early
1960s
there
were
perhaps
as
few
as
200
who
spoke
the
tongue.
The
last
native
speaker,
Ned
Maddrell,
died
in
1974.
UNESCO
pronounced
that
the
language
died
out
in
the
1990s.
Now
there
is
even
a
Manx
language
primary
school
in
which
all
subjects
are
taught
in
the
language,
with
more
than
60
pupils
attending.
Manx
is
also
taught
in
other
schools
across
the
island.
12.
What
does
“Moghrey
mie”
mean
according
to
the
passage?
A.
All
the
best.
B.
Congratulations.
C.
Never
mind.
D.
Good
morning.
13.
Which
of
the
following
about
Brain
Stowell
is
TRUE?
A.
He
is
a
teacher
from
Ireland.
B.
He
wrote
a
novel
in
English.
C.
He
works
at
a
radio
station.
D.
He
learned
Manx
in
the
1950s.
14.
Many

people
went
to
England
to
.?
A.
learn

B.

15.
What

B.
The

of
Manx
people.
C.
The

根据下面短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
16
A
way
to
develop
this
appreciation
is
to
try
to
learn
about
other
cultures
around
the
world.?
There
are
several
ways
to
become
knowledgeable
about
different
cultures.
17
Reading
works
by
authors
who
have
a
close
relationship
with
a
particular
culture
allows
people
to
gain
an
accurate
understanding
of
the
food,
music,
language,
religion,
and
way
of
life
of
a
particular
group
of
people.
For
example,
when
you
really
wish
to
expose
your
students
to
a
different
culture,
you
can
often
read
them
stories
based
on
a
culture’s
folk
tales.?
18
A
variety
of
language-learning
books,
software,
and
audio
programmes
are
available
at
the
public
library
or
bookstores.
19
Moreover,
making
contact
with
people
who
are
native
speakers
of
the
language
also
allows
you
to
gain
first-hand
knowledge
of
a
particular
culture,
which,
on
the
other
hand,
can
help
you
learn
more.?
20
Whether
you
want
to
learn
more
about
regions
in
Japan,
the
Middle
East,
Africa,
or
any
other
world
culture,
becoming
familiar
with
its
food
is
a
giant
step
in
the
right
direction.
Food
is
an
important
part
of
different
cultures
and
allows
people
to
gain
insight
into
a
particular
cultural
group’s
way
of
life.?
A.
Making
your
way
leisurely
to
local
bookstores
can
be
a
lot
of
fun.
B.
One
way
is
to
read
books
written
by
authors
from
a
particular
culture.
C.
Learn
about
different
cultures
by
eating
food
from
a
specific
cultural
group.
D.
Another
way
to
learn
about
different
cultures
is
to
try
to
learn
a
foreign
language.
E.
Gaining
an
understanding
of
other
cultures
benefits
both
you
and
other
people.
F.
You
can
choose
a
language
to
learn
there
and
finally,
with
efforts,
master
the
language.
G.
It’s
important
to
develop
an
appreciation
for
different
cultures
to
become
a
well-rounded
person.

From
the
earliest
times,
man
has
been
interested
in
art.
People
have
often
worked
together
to
collect
and
save
the
world’s
art
treasures.
Fine
art
treasures
from
many
countries
are
kept
in
an
art
museum
called
the
Louvre
in
Paris,
France.
The
works
of
art
have
been
collected
by
the
people
of
France
over
many
centuries.
The
Louvre
has
not
always
been
a
museum.
The
first
building
was
a
fort(炮台).
In
1190,
it
was
the
king’s
castle
with
high
walls
and
a
round
tower.
It
had
a
moat
to
prevent
his
enemies
from
walking
in.
Over
the
years,
the
number
of
buildings
around
the
castle
grew.
By
1350,
the
castle
was
no
longer
needed
as
a
fort.
The
Louvre
became
a
palace
home
for
French
kings
and
queens.
During
times
of
peace,
new
treasures
were
brought
in.
During
days
of
war,
many
treasures
were
stolen,
and
the
buildings
were
damaged.
When
Francis
Ⅰ
became
King
of
France
in
1515,
he
brought
in
artists
from
many
countries.
One
of
the
artists
was
Leonardo
Da
Vinci
from
Italy.
Da
Vinci’s
Mona
Lisa
is
the
best
known
painting
in
the
museum
today.
In
1793,
the
Louvre
became
a
public
museum,
just
as
it
is
now.
It
is
a
place
where
art
treasures
have
been
saved
for
everyone
to
enjoy.
4.
What’s
the
passage
mainly
about?
A.
An
art
museum
called
the
Louvre.
B.
An
Italian
artist
named
Leonardo
Da

C.
A
king
of
France
named
Francis
Ⅰ.
D.
The
best
known
painting
in
the
Louvre.
解析:主旨大意题。通览全文内容可知,文章紧紧围绕卢浮宫的历史和发展进行说明,故A项正确。
答案:A
5.
Why
is
it
good
for
great
art
to
be
kept
in
public
museums?
A.
It
helps
people
remember
who
the
King
of
France
is.
B.
It
keeps
people
out
of
the
palaces.
C.
It
gives
everyone
a
chance
to
enjoy
good
art.
D.
It
helps
people
to
know
who
the
greatest
artist
is.
解析:细节理解题。根据文章最后一段内容“In
1793,
the
Louvre
became
a
public
museum,
just
as
it
is
now.
It
is
a
place
where
art

答案:C
6.
What
can
we
know
from
the
passage?
A.
It
is
not
possible

解析:推理判断题。结合文章最后一段的表述可知C项正确。根据第三段中的“During
days
of
war,
many
treasures
were
stolen
…”可知A项表述错误;并不是所有的炮台都能成为最好的博物馆,B项以偏概全,排除B项;根据第四段中的“When
Francis
Ⅰ
became
King
of
France
in
1515,
he
brought
in
artists
from
many
countries.”可知D项错误。
答案:C

What
does
the
underlined
word
“moat”
probably
mean?
A.
A
high
tower
built
in
former
times
where
soldiers
watched
out

water.
C.
A
cart
pulled
by
horses
on
which
soldiers
fought.
D.
A
long
and
high
wall
around
a
castle.
解析:词义猜测题。根据moat所在句中的“…
to
prevent
his
enemies
from
walking
in.”可推知,moat应该是用于军事上的防御,以达到阻止敌人进入的目的,再结合moat上句话的内容可推知,这里的moat指的是“护城河”,故B项正确。
答案:B
C
Mary
Anning
was
an
English
fossil(化石)
collector,
dealer
and
paleontologist(古生物学家).
Her
fossil
hunting
helped
change
the
way
people
thought
about
the
world.
Mary
was
born
into
a
poor
family
in
England
on
May
21,
1799.
She
lived
in
the
seaside
town
of
Lyme
Regis,
in
Dorset.
The
family
had
nine
children.
Only
Mary
and
her
brother
Joseph
grew
up.
Mary’s
father
took
his
children
along
the
beach.
They
picked
up
shells
and
stones
to
sell
to
visitors.
Mary
did
not
go
to
school
much.
Her
family
was
too
poor.
And
schools
did
not
teach
children
about
fossils.
Mary
could
read
and
write.
She
taught
herself.
She
learned
about
rocks
and
how
bodies
are
made.
In
1811
when
Mary
and
Joseph
were
fossil
hunting,
Joseph
saw
a
bone
sticking
out
of
the
rock.
Mary
had
a
hammer
to
chip
away
at
the
rock.
Very
carefully
she
uncovered
it.
She
found
the
first
complete
fossil
of
the
ichthyosaur(鱼龙).
Since
then,
Mary
became
crazy
about
fossil
hunting.
She
liked
to
hunt
on
the
beach
after
a
storm.
The
wind,
rain
and
waves
made
the
rocks
crumble.
It
was
easy
to
spot
fossils.
Most
days
Mary
went
fossil
hunting
with
her
dog,
Tray.
Rich
friends
helped
Mary
by
selling
fossils
for
her.
They
sent
her
money.
Scientists
wrote
letters
and
came
to
see
her.
One
good
friend
was
William
Buckland,
a
professor
at
Oxford
University.
Mary
also
opened
a
shop
to
sell
fossils,
stones
and
shells.
She
chatted
with
visitors.
Mary
Anning
died
in
1847.
How
evolution(进化)
works
was
explained
by
Charles
Darwin
not
long
after
Mary
died.
Her
fossils
had
helped
scientists
understand
how
things
began.
8.
Why
did
Mary’s
father
take
his
children
along
the
beach?
A.
To
enjoy
life.
B.
To
make
a
living.
C.
To
look
for
fossils.
D.
To
teach
them
about
fossils.
解析:细节理解题。结合第二段中的“Mary’s
father
took
his
children
along
the
beach.
They
picked
up
shells
and
stones
to
sell
to
visitors.”可知,Mary家里很穷,父亲经常带着她去海滩。他们把捡到的贝壳和石头卖给游客。故B项正确。
答案:B
9.
What
can
we
learn
about
Mary?
A.
Her
father
was
a
paleontologist.
B.
Her
father
educated
her
at
home.
C.
She
had
nine
brothers
and
sisters
in
all.
D.
She
might
be
popular
at
that
time.
解析:推理判断题。文中并未提到Mary的父亲是一位古生物学家,故A项排除;根据第二段中的“Mary
could
read
and
write.
She
taught
herself.”可知B项表述错误;结合第二段中的“The
family
had
nine
children.
Only
Mary
and
her
brother
Joseph
grew
up.”可知C项表述也是错误的;根据倒数第二段可知,她有很多富人朋友帮她卖化石,科学家给她写信并拜访她,她还认识一位牛津大学的教授,可推知,她很有可能非常受欢迎,故D项正确。
答案:D
10.
Who
was
the
first
to
catch
sight
of
the
rock
containing
the
first
complete
ichthyosaur
fossil?
A.
Charles
Darwin.
B.
Mary’s
dog.
C.
Joseph.
D.
Mary.
解析:细节理解题。结合文章第三段中的“…
Joseph
saw
a
bone
sticking
out
of
the
rock.”可知,是Joseph首先发现了鱼龙化石。
答案:C
11.
What
can
we
infer
from
the
passage?
A.
Mary
finally
explained
the
theory
about
evolution.
B.
Unfortunately,
Mary
passed
away
in
her
fifties.
C.
Darwin
once
worked
at
Oxford
University
as
a
paleontologist.
D.
It
was
Mary’s
fossil
hunting
that
contributed
to
the
way
people
thought
about
the
world.
解析:推理判断题。根据文章最后一句的表述可知,Mary所搜集的化石帮助科学家了解了生物的起源问题,故D项正确。根据“How
evolution
works
was
explained
by
Charles
Darwin
not
long
after
Mary
died.”可知A项错误;根据Mary出生于1799年,于1847年去世可知B项错误;C项在文中并未提及。
答案:D
D
Just

Manx
seemed
to
be
on
the
point
of
disappearing.
“If
you
spoke
Manx
in
a
pub
on
the
island
in
the
1960s,
it
was
considered
provocative
and
you
were
likely
to
find
yourself
in
a
fight,”
recalls
Brain
Stowell,
a
76-year-old
islander
who
has
written
a
Manx-language
novel,
The
Vampire
Murders,
and
presents
a
radio
show
on
Manx
Radio
spreading
the
language
every
Sunday.
The
language
itself
is
similar
to
the
Gaelic
tongues
spoken
in
the
island’s
neighbours,
Ireland
and
Scotland.
A
century
ago,
“Moghrey
mie”
would
have
been
commonly
heard
instead
of
good
morning
on
the
island.
“In
the
1860s
there
were
thousands
of
Manx
people
who
couldn’t
speak
English,”
says
Stowell.
“But
only
a
century
later
it
was
considered
to
be
so
backward
to
speak
the
language
that
there
were
stories
of
Manx
speakers
getting
stones
thrown
at
them
in
the
towns.
I
learned
it
myself
from
one
of
the
last
surviving
native
speakers
back
in
the
1950s.”
Recession
in
the
mid
19th
century
forced
many
Manx
people
to
leave
the
island
to
seek
work
in
England.
And
parents
were
not
willing
to
pass
the
language
down
through
the
generations,
with
many
believing
that
to
have
Manx
as
a
first
language
would
affect
job
opportunities
overseas.
There
was
a
fall
in
the
language.
By
the
early
1960s
there
were
perhaps
as
few
as
200
who
spoke
the
tongue.
The
last
native
speaker,
Ned
Maddrell,
died
in
1974.
UNESCO
pronounced
that
the
language
died
out
in
the
1990s.
Now
there
is
even
a
Manx
language
primary
school
in
which
all
subjects
are
taught
in
the
language,
with
more
than
60
pupils
attending.
Manx
is
also
taught
in
other
schools
across
the
island.
12.
What
does
“Moghrey
mie”
mean
according
to
the
passage?
A.
All
the
best.
B.
Congratulations.
C.
Never
mind.
D.
Good
morning.
解析:推理判断题。根据第二段最后一句可知,一个世纪前,岛上人们互道Moghrey
mie,而非Good
morning,可知那是早上互相问候的常用语,故D项正确。
答案:D
13.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Acres
of
Diamonds
One
of
the
most
interesting
Americans
who
lived
in
the
19th
century
was
a
man
called
Russell
Herman
Conwell.
He
was
born
in
1843
and
lived
until
1925.He
was
a
lawyer
and
then
became
a
clergyman(牧师).
The
following
is
a
true
story
shared
by
Dr
Conwell.
The
story
was
about
a
farmer
who
lived
in
Africa.
He
was
crazy
about
looking
for
diamonds
when
a
visitor
showed
him
a
diamond
discovered
somewhere.
At
that
time,
a
lot
of
diamonds
were
discovered
on
the
African
continent.
The
farmer
got
so
excited
about
the
idea
of
millions
of
dollars
of
diamonds
that
he
sold
his
farm
in
search
of
diamonds
in
other
places.
He
wandered
all
over
the
continent,
as
the
years
passed
by,
constantly
searching
for
diamonds
and
wealth,
which
he
never
found.
Eventually
he
threw
himself
into
a
river
and
drowned.
Meanwhile,
the
new
owner
of
his
farm
picked
up
an
unusual-looking
rock
about
the
size
of
an
egg
and
put
it
on
his
fireplace.
A
visitor
stopped
by
and
looked
at
the
rock
carefully.
He
told
the
owner
that
the
rock
on
his
fireplace
was
the
biggest
diamond
that
had
been
found.
The
owner
said,
“The
whole
farm
is
covered
with
them.”
And
sure
enough,
it
was.

Paragraph
1:
The
farm
turned
out
to
be
the
Kimberly
Diamond
Mine.
The
new
farmer
became
the
richest
person
the
world
has
ever
known.
The
original
farmer
was
actually
standing
on
“acres
of
diamonds”
until
he
sold
his
farm.
It
was
really
a
pity
that
he
failed
to
realise
there
were
diamonds
in
his
own
land.
He
had
travelled
far
away
in
search
of
diamonds,
but
in
vain.
If
he
had
dug
deep
in
the
field,
the
story
would
have
a
different
ending.
Paragraph
2:
Dr
Conwell
told
this
story
many
times
and
attracted
enormous
audiences.
The
story
doesn’t
get
old.
It
will
be
true
forever.
Actually
each
of
us
is
right
in
the
middle
of
our
own
“acres
of
diamonds”.
If
we
are
willing
to
explore
the
ground
we
are
standing
on
instead
of
travelling
far
to
look
for
diamonds,
we
are
sure
to
find
treasure
and
wealth
that
we
long
to
own.
Opportunity
does
not
just
come
along.
It
is
there
all
the
time.
What
we
need
to
do
is
to
discover
it.
