Planning
a
cruise
on
a
budget
often
involves
searching
for
the
best
cruise
deals
and
specials.While
it's
true
that
one
of
the
best
ways
to
save
on
cruises
is
to
choose
major
lines'
seasonal
promotional
offers,there
are
other
ways
to
significantly
reduce
the
cost
of
your
trip.You
might
even
be
able
to
enjoy
a
cruise
on
as
little
as
$100
a
day.
We
consulted
with
Colleen
McDaniel,senior
executive
editor
of
Cruise
Critic,to
get
even
more
money?saving
tips.Read
on
to
discover
how
you
can
enjoy
cruises
for
cheap.
Purchase
an
all?inclusive
package
An
easy
way
to
rack
up(增加)a
high
cruise
bill
is
by
taking
advantage
of
every
extra
that
a
cruise
line
has
to
offer
without
knowing
which
extras
are
included
in
the
package
you've
purchased.If
you're
worried
about
spending
too
much
on
activities,beverages,food
and
accommodations,book
an
all?inclusive
package,which
could
help
you
save
money
in
the
long
run.
Seek
unadvertised
discounts
Though
they
don't
always
advertise
them,many
cruise
lines
offer
special
prices
for
certain
groups.Royal
Caribbean,for
example,extends
special
pricing
on
all
cruises
to
airline
employees.
Call
the
cruise
line
to
find
out
if
it
offers
discounts
for
any
groups,employers
or
organizations
you
are
affiliated(加入)with,and
you
could
save
up
to
$100
or
more
a
day
on
your
booking.
Use
an
app
to
track
prices
If
you
can
be
flexible
with
your
travel
dates,you
might
be
able
to
get
a
great
deal
on
a
cruise
by
using
an
app
like
Cruise
Critic.The
app
lets
you
monitor
prices
of
upcoming
cruises
and
informs
you
of
any
major
changes
on
prices
as
the
days
go
by.If
the
price
on
your
cruise
drops
after
you've
booked,you
can
contact
the
cruise
line
to
negotiate
the
difference.The
cruise
line
might
refund
you
in
the
form
of
an
onboard
credit
that
you
can
use
for
cruise
activities
and
other
amenities(便利设施)during
your
trip.
Look
for
local
deals
Many
cruise?goers
extend
their
vacations
by
booking
stays
and
planning
activities
in
port
cities
before
and
after
the
cruise.If
this
is
your
plan,save
money
on
dining
and
adventures
by
looking
for
local
deals
ahead
of
time.

Years
ago,a
woman
named
Genevieve
Piturro
began
doing
volunteer
work
that
wouldn't
just
change
her
life,but
would
also
have
a
life?changing
influence
on
lots
of
children
throughout
the
country.And
it
all
began
with
some
kids'
pajamas(睡衣).
Always
being
interested
in
reading,Genevieve
focused
her
new
volunteer
work
on
sharing
her
love
of
books
with
children.She
only
had
free
time
after
work,so
she
decided
to
spend
her
evenings
reading
to
kids
in
homeless
shelters.Genevieve's
story
could
have
ended
there,but
what
she
noticed
happening
after
those
nighttime
readings
is
what
soon
gave
her
a
life?changing
idea.
Seeing
those
children
climb
into
their
beds
without
any
pajamas
to
sleep
in
brought
tears
to
Genevieve's
eyes.“I
said
to
one
of
the
workers
there,‘Next
time,can
I
bring
pajamas?’And
she
said,‘That
would
be
great.Nobody
thinks
of
that.’”Genevieve
told
Oprah
during
a
2007“Oprah
Show”interview.
For
her
next
visit,Genevieve
returned
armed
with
12
pairs
of
pajamas.Some
kids
in
the
shelter
quietly
asked,“What's
the
use
of
them?”—but
it
soon
became
clear
that
Genevieve
had
found
a
special
need
that
had
to
be
filled.Her
Pajama
Program
was
born.
Over
the
next
five
years,Genevieve
and
her
Pajama
Program
collected
85,000
pairs
of
pajamas
for
children
in
need.Then,during
her“Oprah
Show”interview,Genevieve
received
a
big
surprise
of
her
own:Oprah
and
the
show
producers
asked
the
audience
to
bring
as
many
pajamas
as
they
could
to
donate
to
Genevieve's
organization.That
final
count
totaled
32,046
pairs.
“Hours
after
the
show,thousands
of
our
children
in
shelters
received
boxes
of
pajamas
and
books,thanks
to
everyone
who
watched,”says
Genevieve.All
that
help
has
continued
over
the
years,and
for
homeless
children,Pajama
Program
offers
so
much
more
than
just
a
pair
of
clothes
to
sleep
in.

The
Australian
beach
town
of
Byron
Bay
has
a
traffic
problem,especially
during
holidays,when
local
streets
are
full
of
cars.But
now
it's
changed.The
world's
first
fully
solar?powered
train
runs
on
a
restored(修复)train
line
that
was
out
of
use
for
more
than
a
decade.
The
solar
systems
on
the
roof
of
the
train
send
power
to
a
set
of
batteries
that
replace
one
engine;the
other
engine
is
still
in
place
and
can
provide
backup
power
in
an
emergency.As
the
train
brakes,it
generates
more
electricity,like
a
hybrid
car.At
a
train
station,the
train
can
be
plugged
in
to
pull
more
power
from
solar
systems
on
the
platform
roof.If
there's
a
long
period
without
sun—somewhat
unlikely
in
this
part
of
the
world—the
train
can
also
plug
in
to
get
renewable
energy
from
the
local
electricity
supply.
“The
large
solar
systems
on
the
platform
roof
coupled
with
the
solar
systems
on
the
train
roof
produce
more
solar
energy
per
day
than
is
required
to
operate
an
hourly
return
service,”says
Holmes,development
director
of
the
nonprofit
Byron
Bay
Railroad
Company,which
runs
the
train.With
one
full
charge,the
train
can
make
12
to
15
trips.
Volunteers
fully
restored
the
train
to
its
old
condition
to
attract
more
riders,which
should
take
more
cars
off
city
streets
of
the
beach
town.The
train
fits
100
seated
passengers,with
room
for
more
to
stand,and
also
has
a
luggage
room
for
bikes
and
surfboards.A
ride
costs
a
little
more
than
$2.
The
nonprofit
thinks
it's
a
model
that
could
be
replicated(复制)elsewhere.“Our
service
has
had
no
government
support
or
funding
at
all,but
for
this
to
be
replicated
or
improved
upon,the
key
is
for
government
to
work
with
enterprises
on
the
program,”Holmes
says.“Our
service
provides
an
example
of
how
the
sun's
energy
can
be
used
for
sustainable
transport
solutions.”

the
solar
train
brought
into

fight
pollution.
D.To
use
solar
energy.
9.Where
does
the
train
get
energy
on
sunless
days?
A.From
its
engines.
B.From
a
hybrid
car.
C.From
the
platform
roof.
D.From
the
local
electricity
supply.
10.How
does
Holmes
feel
about
solar
energy
equipment?

is
easily
operated.
C.It
is
time?consuming.
D.It
is
power
guaranteed.
11.What
can
be
inferred
about
the
solar?powered
train
from
the

may
be
popularized
in
the
future.
B.More
scientific
research
should
be
done
about
it.
C.It
could
be
of
little
use
in
solving
energy
problems.
D.Financial
support
from
the
government
is
badly
needed.

When
it
comes
to
mental
illness,many
people
often
find
it
tough
to
get
the
help
they
need.This
is
especially
true
for
young
students
making
the
transition(过渡)to
college
life.
“Sometimes,students
don't
realize
how
hard
it
is
to
adjust
to
college,”said
Laura
Smith,associate
dean
of
students
at
the
University
of
Texas
at
Dallas.“You're
not
the
big
fish
in
your
classes
anymore;you
have
all
kinds
of
personal
stress;you're
away
from
home.Dealing
with
these
things
is
not
easy.”
Students
who
are
going
through
these
problems
sometimes
want
to
reach
out.But
if
students
don't
feel
comfortable
seeking
help,many
feel
that
it's
the
responsibility
of
their
university
to
help
them.
“I
really
wish
that
there
was
more
importance
placed
on
how
counseling(咨询)centres
help
students,”said
Connie
Trinh.“Counseling
services
are
just
as
important
as
academics
and
sports.”
Trinh,27,graduated
from
Texas
Woman's
University
in
2015.During
college,she
hosted
various
workshops
on
how
to
handle
mental
health
conditions.Trinh
used
her
own
story
to
connect
with
students
who
might
be
facing
similar
problems.High
academic
pressures,cultural
differences
as
an
Asian
American
and
stressful
social
situations
stood
out
as
some
of
the
most
common
causes
of
Trinh's
anxiety.
It
was
only
after
years
of
personal
problems
that
she
could
admit
that
reaching
out
isn't
a
sign
of
weakness.
“If
you
feel
you
can't
connect
with
other
people
around
you,you
should
address
the
issue
without
shame,”Trinh
said.“You'll
find
that
there
are
a
lot
of
people
out
there
who
sincerely
want
to
help
you.”

preferred
solution

the
problems
on
your

the
causes
of

a
piece
of
cake.

One
winter
Sunday,my
little
sister,Colleen,and
I
built
the
greatest
snowman
ever.We
gave
him
a
carrot
nose,a
beautiful
hat,a
cozy
scarf
and
gloves.He
was
a
masterpiece(杰作).
The
next
morning
when
looking
outside,we
smiled
lovingly
at
him
over
our
meal.We
gave
him
a
high?five(击掌)as
we
passed
by
on
our
way
to
school.A
lot
of
kids
went
past
our
house,so
he
was
the
hot
topic
at
our
school
that
morning.It
was
our
pride!
The
day
dragged
on
until
finally
we
could
rush
home.But
as
our
yard
came
into
sight,we
saw
something
wrong.The
snowman
was
gone!
We
only
found
a
broken
stick
here,a
torn
glove
there
and
balls
of
snow
everywhere.Worst
of
all,the
snowman's
once?proud
carrot
nose
lay

What
had
happened?We
were
both
astonished
and
angry.But
then,we

have
anything
taking
away
our
happiness.Actually
we
knew
only
one
thing:Our
snowman
would
rise
again.And
so
we
rebuilt
him.
The
next
day
we
came
home
to
find
another
mess
on
the
front
lawn(草坪).For
the
rest
of
the
week,the
destruction
was
repeated
daily.Each
afternoon
we'd
return
to
find
our
snowman
had
fallen
apart,and
then
we
built
again.
By
Saturday
morning,we
had
a
plan.We
borrowed
a
really
big
bucket(水桶)from
Mom,filled
it
with
water
and
left
it
outside.The
next
morning,it
was
frozen
solid.We
packed
snow
all
around
the
ice
block
as
the
base
(底座)of
the
snowman.Then
we
built
the
other
parts
of
it
once
again.The
trap
was
set,and
we
waited
for
the
snowman
bullies(破坏者)to
come.

Planning
a
cruise
on
a
budget
often
involves
searching
for
the
best
cruise
deals
and
specials.While
it's
true
that
one
of
the
best
ways
to
save
on
cruises
is
to
choose
major
lines'
seasonal
promotional
offers,there
are
other
ways
to
significantly
reduce
the
cost
of
your
trip.You
might
even
be
able
to
enjoy
a
cruise
on
as
little
as
$100
a
day.
We
consulted
with
Colleen
McDaniel,senior
executive
editor
of
Cruise
Critic,to
get
even
more
money?saving
tips.Read
on
to
discover
how
you
can
enjoy
cruises
for
cheap.
Purchase
an
all?inclusive
package
An
easy
way
to
rack
up(增加)a
high
cruise
bill
is
by
taking
advantage
of
every
extra
that
a
cruise
line
has
to
offer
without
knowing
which
extras
are
included
in
the
package
you've
purchased.If
you're
worried
about
spending
too
much
on
activities,beverages,food
and
accommodations,book
an
all?inclusive
package,which
could
help
you
save
money
in
the
long
run.
Seek
unadvertised
discounts
Though
they
don't
always
advertise
them,many
cruise
lines
offer
special
prices
for
certain
groups.Royal
Caribbean,for
example,extends
special
pricing
on
all
cruises
to
airline
employees.
Call
the
cruise
line
to
find
out
if
it
offers
discounts
for
any
groups,employers
or
organizations
you
are
affiliated(加入)with,and
you
could
save
up
to
$100
or
more
a
day
on
your
booking.
Use
an
app
to
track
prices
If
you
can
be
flexible
with
your
travel
dates,you
might
be
able
to
get
a
great
deal
on
a
cruise
by
using
an
app
like
Cruise
Critic.The
app
lets
you
monitor
prices
of
upcoming
cruises
and
informs
you
of
any
major
changes
on
prices
as
the
days
go
by.If
the
price
on
your
cruise
drops
after
you've
booked,you
can
contact
the
cruise
line
to
negotiate
the
difference.The
cruise
line
might
refund
you
in
the
form
of
an
onboard
credit
that
you
can
use
for
cruise
activities
and
other
amenities(便利设施)during
your
trip.
Look
for
local
deals
Many
cruise?goers
extend
their
vacations
by
booking
stays
and
planning
activities
in
port
cities
before
and
after
the
cruise.If
this
is
your
plan,save
money
on
dining
and
adventures
by
looking
for
local
deals
ahead
of
time.

Years
ago,a
woman
named
Genevieve
Piturro
began
doing
volunteer
work
that
wouldn't
just
change
her
life,but
would
also
have
a
life?changing
influence
on
lots
of
children
throughout
the
country.And
it
all
began
with
some
kids'
pajamas(睡衣).
Always
being
interested
in
reading,Genevieve
focused
her
new
volunteer
work
on
sharing
her
love
of
books
with
children.She
only
had
free
time
after
work,so
she
decided
to
spend
her
evenings
reading
to
kids
in
homeless
shelters.Genevieve's
story
could
have
ended
there,but
what
she
noticed
happening
after
those
nighttime
readings
is
what
soon
gave
her
a
life?changing
idea.
Seeing
those
children
climb
into
their
beds
without
any
pajamas
to
sleep
in
brought
tears
to
Genevieve's
eyes.“I
said
to
one
of
the
workers
there,‘Next
time,can
I
bring
pajamas?’And
she
said,‘That
would
be
great.Nobody
thinks
of
that.’”Genevieve
told
Oprah
during
a
2007“Oprah
Show”interview.
For
her
next
visit,Genevieve
returned
armed
with
12
pairs
of
pajamas.Some
kids
in
the
shelter
quietly
asked,“What's
the
use
of
them?”—but
it
soon
became
clear
that
Genevieve
had
found
a
special
need
that
had
to
be
filled.Her
Pajama
Program
was
born.
Over
the
next
five
years,Genevieve
and
her
Pajama
Program
collected
85,000
pairs
of
pajamas
for
children
in
need.Then,during
her“Oprah
Show”interview,Genevieve
received
a
big
surprise
of
her
own:Oprah
and
the
show
producers
asked
the
audience
to
bring
as
many
pajamas
as
they
could
to
donate
to
Genevieve's
organization.That
final
count
totaled
32,046
pairs.
“Hours
after
the
show,thousands
of
our
children
in
shelters
received
boxes
of
pajamas
and
books,thanks
to
everyone
who
watched,”says
Genevieve.All
that
help
has
continued
over
the
years,and
for
homeless
children,Pajama
Program
offers
so
much
more
than
just
a
pair
of
clothes
to
sleep
in.

When
it

it
tough

is
especially
true
for
young

Students
who

that
she
could

“If

One

I
built
the
greatest

ever.We

him
a

hat,a
cozy
scarf
and
gloves.He
was
a
masterpiece(杰作).
The

kids
went

hot
topic
at
our
school
that
morning.It
was
our
pride!
The
day
dragged
on
until
finally
we
could
rush
home.But
as
our
yard
came
into
sight,we
saw
something
wrong.The
snowman
was
gone!
We
only
found
a
broken
stick
here,a
torn
glove
there
and
balls
of
snow
everywhere.Worst
of
all,the
snowman's
once?proud
carrot
nose
lay

What
had
happened?We
were

astonished
and
angry.But
then,we

kids,who
wouldn't
have
anything
taking
away
our
happiness.Actually
we
knew

one
thing:Our
snowman
would
rise
again.And
so
we
rebuilt
him.
The

we
came
home
to
find
another
mess
on
the

of

destruction
was
repeated
daily.Each
afternoon
we'd
return
to
find
our
snowman
had
fallen
apart,and
then
we
built
again.
By
Saturday
morning,we
had
a
plan.We
borrowed
a
really
big
bucket(水桶)from
Mom,filled
it
with
water
and
left
it
outside.The
next
morning,it
was
frozen
solid.We
packed
snow
all
around
the
ice
block
as
the
base
(底座)of
the
snowman.Then
we
built
the
other
parts
of
it
once
again.The
trap
was
set,and
we
waited
for
the

Monday
morning,hiding

we
were
waiting
for.It
turned
out
that
there
were
three
kids
from
our
school.They
sneaked
up
on
our
snowman
and
sneered.Taking
their
places
on
either
side,they
pulled
back
their
legs
to
deliver
powerful
kicks.But
the
moment
they
hit
the
hard

block
of

turned
into
shock,then
agony
and
tears.They
howled
and
cursed,gritting
their

and
stomping
their
feet.
Paragraph

Seeing

came
out
of
hiding
and
sprang
into
the

from
inside

Justice

yelled
behind
