用一张邀请卡片引出本节课的情景，即Roy 过生日的情景。提前铺垫Here is... for you. 的句型，让学生在学习之初便接触与了解本节课的重点句型。
在邀请卡中集中出现了四个oy字母组合并发音相同的单词，让学生能够自己通过读单词总结出字母发音的规律，再根据歌谣巩固字母组合的发音。
通过阅读卡片上的信息，以提问的方式帮助学生回顾关于日期的简单问题，为下一单元的内容做简单铺垫。
通过白板游戏的练习让学生能够区分Here is 与Here are 在用法上的区别，能够了解可数名词单数和不可数名词都用Here is, 可数名词复数用Here are。
播放17课的录音，帮助学生回忆过生日的步骤。
通过图片的局部展示帮助学生拓展match一词，并了解light的动词含义，理解light和candles的意义。墙上的灯帮助学生理解light作为名词的含义。并要求学生一起跟读、拼写light一词，掌握本课四会词语。
让学生想一想自己回叙的愿望，理解make a wish 的含义，并通过句型I wish.. 了解wish作为动词与名词的含义。
通过有趣的动图帮助学生加深理解记忆blow out 的含义。
学生动手的切蛋糕，分蛋糕来理解词组，并且加深a piece of 的含义。
打开书让学生跟读课本中的词组进行知识的梳理，体现从书中来到书中去的过程。同时纠正学生的语音语调。
老师整理板书的过程中让学生以小组的形式进行句型的练习。
随后再以庆祝Roy 的生日为主题让学生自己整理庆祝过程的六个步骤。
学生以小组为单位让学生创编关于Roy生日的对话，培养学生的小组合作意识的同时让学生能够将词组、句型应用于对话、实际情景中。
学生以日记的形式记录下一天的活动，用首字母填空的形式让学生将词汇落在笔上，课堂上进行书写与表达促进学生读写能力的提高。
外国生日习俗的拓展帮助学生开拓国际视野。
