B
I
remember
my
teen
years
when
all
I
wanted
was
to
put
on
weight.
Growing
up,
I
was
always
on
the
thinner
side
and
try
as
I
could,
I
never
seemed
to
put
on
the
kilos.
I
would
admire
the
chubbier
(丰满的)
girls
and
wished
to
be
like
them.
Now
I
realize
I
had
weighed
my
self-worth
on
how
I
looked.
I
had
also
sent
out
a
message
saying
that
I
wasn't
good
enough
because
of
my
body
size,
not
realizing
that
we
train
others
how
to
treat
us.
Today,
I'm
comfortable
in
my
skin,
and
I
have
learnt
the
art
of
self-love.
And
yes,
I
did
put
on
the
kilos
years
later
after
childbirth,
but
I
lost
them
at
the
gym,
and
I'
m
happy
with
myself.
This
got
me
thinking
about
the
number
of
people
today
who
want
to
look
like
someone
else.
They
look
in
the
mirror
and
don't
like
what
they
see.
They
are
always
in
search
of
a
different
self.
Learn
to
fall
in
love
with
yourself.
Learn
to
value
yourself.
If
you
do
not
like
something
about
yourself,
why
not
work
out
to
get
to
your
ideal
(理想的)
body
type?
This
not
only
increases
your
confidence,
but
you
no
longer
have
to
wear
those
ugly
tops
to
hide
your
stomach.
Invest
(投资)
in
self-improvement
courses
if
you
have
to.
Learn
to
say
NO.
You
do
not
have
to
present
yourself
for
every
party
or
appointment.
Give
yourself
space
to
breathe.
As
women,
we
are
taught
to
take
care
of
everyone
else
but
ourselves.
We
get
worn
out
raising
our
families
and
balancing
our
private
lives
with
our
careers,
and
rarely
have
time
for
ourselves.
At
the
end
of
the
day,
we
are
so
exhausted;
everyone
else
is
happy
but
us.
When
you
are
tired,
take
enough
time
to
rest.
Remember,
you
cannot
pour
out
of
an
empty
cup.
Every
so
often,
take
time
to
refill
your
cup.

the
author
when
she
was
a
teenager?
A.
She
put
on
weight
easily.
B.
She
was
laughed
at
by
others.
C.
She
found
it
hard
to
make
friends.
D.
She
was
unsatisfied
with
her
body.
25.
What
does
the
author
think
of
her
thoughts
as
a
teenager?
A.
Deep.
B.
Puzzling.
C.
Creative.
D.
Ridiculous.
26.
What
should
people
do
if
they
are
really
unsatisfied
with
themselves
in
the
author's
opinion?
A.
Model
themselves
on
others.
B.
Improve
themselves
if
necessary.
C.
Accept
what
they
are
and
be
themselves.
D.
Compare
themselves
with
other
people.
27.
What's
the
author's
advice
to
women?
A.
Saying
no
to
parties.
B.
Balancing
life
and
work.
C.
Learning
to
love
themselves.
D.
Taking
good
care
of
their
family.
C
There'
s
a
word
of
wellness
I've
loved
for
years.
It's
HALT:
the
idea
that
if
you
want
to
be
calm
and
content,
never
let
yourself
get
too
hungry,
angry,
lonely
or
tired.
Researchers
are
increasingly
looking
more
closely
at
the
“L”in“HALT”,with
one
report
presented
to
the
American
Psychological
Association
finding
that
long-term
loneliness
might
be
a
greater
public
health
risk
than
obesity.
Loneliness
is
a
problem
with
many
faces.
Some
people
are
alone
most
of
the
time—data
collected
by
the
United
Kingdom
found
that
200,000
people
over
the
age
of
75
had
not
had
a
conversation
with
a
friend
or
a
relative
in
more
than
a
month.
But
some
people
feel
lonely
even
in
a
crowded
room,
disconnected
from
meaningful
relationships
even
though
their
days
are
filled
with
people.
To
me,
walking
a
positive
path
means
walking
alongside
others—people
who
lift
our
spirits,
share
our
values,
challenge
us
to
grow
and
learn
and
bring
us
joy.
But
social
satisfaction
doesn't
come
automatically
or
even
easily
to
too
many
people.
And
in
our
age
of
individualized
electronic
devices,
social
media
and
text-based
communication,
it
can
be
harder
than
ever
to
feel
truly
connected
to
others.
I
was
so
heartened
to
read
that
recently
the
British
Parliament
(议会)
has
created
a
“Minister
for
Loneliness”
position
to
promote
research,
education
and
principles
so
as
to
cure
what
some
researchers
call
“the
loneliness
disease”.
More
and
more
doctors
in
America
are
also
screening
adult
patients
for
loneliness
at
annual
physical
examinations,
which
is
another
promising
sign.
With
proper
social
support
and
community
participation,
loneliness
can
be
prevented
from
happening.
If
you
are
feeling
lonely,
make
a
list
of
your
daily
routines
and
ask
yourself
how
you
could
add
more
social
interactions
to
each
day.
Try
reaching
out
for
volunteer
opportunities,
clubs
and
organizations
to
join
and
old
friendships
to
renew.
If
you
are
struggling,
ask
a
consultant
to
help
you
identify
your
social
obstacles
and
overcome
them.

disease”?

is
hard

avoidable.

needs
official
support
most.
D.It
relies
on
doctors'
work.
31.What
can
be
a
suitable
title
for
the
text?
A.Building
a
Close
Relationship
B.Measures
of
Avoiding
Loneliness
C.The
Risk
of
Being
Lonely
D.Fighting
Against
Loneliness
D
There
are
two
types
of
people
in
the
world.
Although
they
have
equal
degree
of
health
and
wealth
and
other
comforts
of
life,
one
becomes
happy
and
the
other
becomes
unhappy.
This
arises
from
the
different
ways
in
which
they
consider
things,
persons,
events
and
the
resulting
effects
upon
their
minds.
People
who
are
to
be
happy
fix
their
attention
on
the
convenience
of
things:
the
pleasant
parts
of
conversation,
the
well-prepared
dishes,
the
goodness
of
the
wine
and
the
fine
weather.
They
enjoy
all
the
cheerful
things.
Those
who
are
to
be
unhappy
think
and
speak
only
of
the
opposite
things.
Therefore,
they
are
continually
dissatisfied.
By
their
remarks,
they
sour
the
pleasure
of
society,
hurt
many
people,
and
make
themselves
disagreeable
everywhere.
If
this
turn
of
mind
was
founded
in
nature,
such
unhappy
persons
would
be
the
more
to
be
pitied.
The
intention
of
criticizing
and
being
disliked
is
perhaps
taken
up
by
imitation.
It
grows
into
a
habit,
unknown
to
its
possessors.
The
habit
may
be
strong,
but
it
may
be
cured
when
those
who
have
it
realize
its
bad
effects
on
their
interests
and
tastes.
I
hope
this
little
warning
may
be
of
service
to
them,
and
help
them
change
this
habit.
Although
in
fact
it
is
chiefly
an
act
of
the
imagination,
it
has
serious
results
in
life
since
it
brings
on
deep
sorrow
and
bad
luck.
Those
people
hurt
many
others;
nobody
loves
them,
and
no
one
treats
them
with
more
than
the
most
common
politeness
and
respect.
This
frequently
puts
them
in
bad
temper
and
draws
them
into
arguments.
If
they
aim
at
getting
some
advantages
in
social
position
or
fortune,
nobody
wishes
them
success.
Nor
will
anyone
start
a
step
or
speak
a
word
to
favor
their
hopes.
If
they
bring
on
themselves
public
objections,
no
one
will
defend
or
excuse
them,
and
many
will
join
to
criticize
their
wrongdoings.
These
should
change
this
bad
habit
and
be
pleased
with
what
is
pleasing,
without
worrying
needlessly
about
themselves
and
others.
If
they
do
not,
it
will
be
good
for
others
to
avoid
any
contact
with
them.
Otherwise,
it
can
be
disagreeable
and
sometimes
very
inconvenient,
especially
when
one
becomes
mixed
up
in
their
quarrels.
What
does
the
underlined
phrase
“sour
the
pleasure
of
society”
most
probably
mean?
A.
Making
others
unhappy.
B.
Enjoying
the
pleasure
of
life.
C.
Tending
to
please
others
openly.
D.
Having
a
good
taste
with
social
life.
33.
What
can
we
conclude
from
the
text?
A.
We
should
pity
all
such
unhappy
people.
B.
People
can
get
rid
of
the
habit
of
unhappiness.
C.
Such
unhappy
people
are
dangerous
to
social
life.
D.
Unhappy
people
cannot
understand
happy
persons.
If
such
unhappy
persons
insist
on
keeping
the
habit,
the
author
suggests
people
should_______
A.
show
no
respect
and
politeness
to
them.
B.
prevent
any
communication
with
them.
C.
persuade
them
to
recognize
the
bad
effects.
D.
quarrel
with
them
until
they
realize
the
mistakes.
35.
What
is
the
purpose
of
the
text?
A.
To
describe
two
types
of
people
in
the
world:
happy
and
unhappy.
B.
To
laugh
at
unhappy
people
and
let
us
avoid
such
kind
of
people.
C.
To
suggest
unhappy
people
remove
the
habits
of
unhappiness.
D.
To
suggest
people
should
fix
their
attention
on
happy
things.

a
circle
around
the
person
who
is
to
fall.
37
He
or
she
should
stand
close
enough
to
catch
the
person.
Meanwhile,
he
or
she
must
be
far
enough
away
from
the
falling
person
to
allow
for
an
almost
complete
fall.
38
The
person
who
is
to
fall
stands
straight
and
then
simply
leans
backward.
He
or
she
is
not
to
try
in
any
way
to
slow
or
prevent
the
fall.
When
injuries
do
occur,
they
are
usually
the
result
of
panic
on
the
part
of
the
falling
person,
or
the
failure
of
the
special
person
who
cannot
safely
catch
the
falling
person.
Generally
there
is
a
question
and
answer
meeting
at
the
end
of
a
trust
fall
exercise.
39
They
are
also
encouraged
to
talk
about
how
it
makes
them
feel.
Some
people
believe
that
a
trust
fall
does
not
really
build
trust.
The
exercise
is
in
a
controlled
environment
in
which
the
participants
are
expected
to
act
in
a
trustworthy
(
值得信赖的)manner.
They
are
also
in
the
presence
of
all
their
members.
40
However,
group
leaders
point
out
that
the
exercise
creates
a
shared
sense
of
purpose
among
the
participants.
From
which
lasting
trust
grows
as
they
continue
to
work
together.
First,
divide
the
group
into
pairs.
There
is
some
danger
in
trust
falls.
These
seem
to
make
the
result
less
reliable.
Then
a
special
person
is
asked
to
catch
the
falling
person.
The
person
may
fear
to
fall
into
the
arms
of
other
members.
It
is
also
designed
to
build
team
spirit
to
help
the
group
achieve
its
goals.
Group
members
are
asked
to
comment
on
what
the
exercise
means
to
them.

My
history
with
music
was
not
good.
I
still
remembered
when
I
took
my
short-lived
piano
lessons,
my
grandfather
said
41
to
my
grandfather,
“Why
didn’t
he
make
any
progress
with
much
practice?”
I
42
to
make
my
piano
performance
attractive.
However,
my
efforts
were
43
.
So
I
gave
up
playing
any
musical
instrument
until
my
old
friend
Leroy
44
me
to
play
the
violin
with
him
when
I
was
57.
It
made
me
enjoy
the
joy
of
playing
music
again.
On
day,
Leroy
sent
a
text
45
me
that
there
was
a
music
performance
and
he
wanted
me
to
join
him.
Thinking
of
my
past,
I
46
his
invitation.
I
expected
to
hear
his
words
that
I
would
become
47
with
practice
on
stage.
But
he
said,
“OK,
only
play
if
you
want
to.”
I
was
totally
48
by
the
unexpected
answer
and
made
no
reply
except
to
tell
him
goodbye.
No
one
was
49
me
to
participate,
but
I
faced
a
special
50
.
Should
I
play
on
stage
or
just
watch
a
movie?
I
had
chosen
the
“movie
route”
too
many
times
and
this
time
I
was
51
to
grasp
the
opportunity.
After
a
long
and
careful
52
,
I
played
my
violin
with
Leroy.
53
I
didn’t
lose
all
my
nervousness,
it
was
enough
for
me
to
overcome
my
fear.
Finally,
I
54
a
full
performance
in
front
of
the
audience.
A
short
time
later,
my
friend
Leroy
passed
away,
but
his
55
stayed.
It
helped
me
not
only
in
music,
but
in
all
aspects
of
life.
When
I
focused
on
what
I
wanted
to
do,
fear
will
be
replaced
with
joy.

Miss

sick.
She
hated
having
to
read
aloud
in
class.
She
was
sure
everyone
got
really
bored
listening
to
her.
Once,
when
Jenny
was
reading
out
her
holiday
diary,?Lee?was
even
looking
at
his?watch,
a
silver
and
blue
one
which
seemed
just?magical.
Jenny
watched
Lee?walk?ahead
of
her
as
they
left
school.
He
seemed
so
clever,
and
he
had
a
certain
sort
of
shining?confidence.
He
was
just
one
of
those
people
who
were
good
at
everything.
Jenny
sighed.
As
she
turned
the
corner,
she
saw
Lee's
watch
lying
right
in
the
middle
of
the
path.
Jenny
knew
she
should
just
pick
it
up
and?return?it
to
him,
but
she
didn't
want
to
run
after
him.
Jenny
bent
down
quickly,
picked
up
the
watch
and
ran
home.
On
arriving
home,
Jenny
put
it
on
almost
without
thinking.
She
was
surprised
it
fitted
so
well.
She
walked
to
the
mirror
and
started
practicing
her?speech.
Words
just?flooded
out
of
her.
“I'm
going
to
talk
about
swimming.
I
have
been
lucky.
I've
won
lots
of
competitions.
But
when
I'm
in
a
race,
I'm
not
really
thinking
about
winning.
I'm
just
loving
the
feeling
of
being
in
the
water…”
Jenny
laughed
with
excitement.
She
walked
across
the
room.
She
suddenly
seemed
to
have
a
certain
sort
of
confidence.
Turning
back
to
the
mirror,
Jenny
saw
a
flash
of
light
from
the
watch
in
the
glass.
The
flashes
of
silver
seemed
almost
magical.
So
maybe
Lee’s
watch
really
DID
have
some
magic.
The
next
day,
as
the
lesson
began,
Miss
Walker
asked
who
was
going
to
be
brave
and
go
first.
Nobody
moved.
Jenny
slowly
raised
her
arm.
Before
Miss
Walker
could
say
anything,
there
was
a
shout
from
behind.
“She’s
stolen
my
watch!”
Lee
said
angrily,
“It
went
missing
at
school
yesterday.”

Besides,

answer:
Everybody

on
Jenny,
waiting
for
an
explanation.
Jenny
didn't
answer.
How
could
she
explain
about
the

and
its
magic?
No
one
could
understand.
No
one
could
believe
it.
“But
I

Miss

gently
reminded

For
a

Lee

Jenny

saying
she

Everybody
was
puzzled

asked

Jenny
again
was
speechless.
At

Miss

Jenny
walked
slowly
to
the
front.
She
couldn't
think
properly.
All
round
her,
a
sea

was
watching.
She
felt
so
frightened
and
the
watch
didn't
seem
magical
at
all.
Suddenly
she
saw
Miss
Walker's
encouraging

Jenny
took
a
deep
breath.
“I'm

Ten
minutes
later,
the
whole
class
stood
up
applauding
Jenny's
wonderful

Jenny
smiled
as
she
eventually
realized
the
real

of
confidence.
