What do they say/do when they meet
Who is cooking for the Thanksgiving dinner
2 Some useful words and phrases from last lesson.
Step 2 Lead into the new lesson.
Teacher asks: Whose birthday is today in our class
Students answer:(someone`s birthday is today)
Teacher asks: Have you give him/her some wishes for his/her birthday.
Then let them make a birthday card for him/her after class.
At this time tell them Danny Jenny and Brian is doing the same thing---make birthday cards
Next they will send these cards and presents to China.
Step 3 Come into the new lesson.
1 Listen and answer (from the first paragraph to the third paragraph)
A: what did Jenny write in her card
B: what did Danny write in his card
2 Check the answers
A: Happy birthday, Li Ming! From your friend,Jenny.
B: Happy birthday to my best Chinese friend Li Ming. Best wishes to you on your thirteenth birthday. Remember me when you wear my gift! Your friend, Danny.(Explain the language notes here.)
3 Let students guess what they will do after finishing writing the cards.
Give them some verb phrases . Let them try to retell the thing.

glue the stamp
go to the post office
Let students look at these prases or words to talk about with their deskmates. Then retell for everyone only.
4 According the text to chek if their imagination is right.
Step 4 Sum up
Let students try retelling the text. Try to use their own words.
Step 5 Homework.
Remind them not to forget the birthday cards for classmates
