Literature
Ⅰ.阅读理解
Powerful
and
mysterious,
the
wizard(巫师)
has
been
an
attractive
figure
in
fantasy
literature
for
as
long
as
the
type
of
literature
has
existed.Their
pointed
hats,
mysterious
ways,
and
great
deeds
are
familiar
to
any
reader
of
fantasy
literature.They
are
our
childhood
heroes
and
nightmares(噩梦),
and
many
of
us
grew
up
with
stories
full
of
their
adventures.Within
the
fantasy
text,
these
complex
personalities
can
serve
several
important
roles,
taking
the
part
of
either
the
hero,
or
terrible
villain
(反面人物).Regardless
of
the
actual
role
they
play
within
a
given
story,
wizards
have
several
common
elements
and
characteristics
that
are
typical
of
them.
Wizards,
in
fact,
are
able
to
control
the
world
around
them
through
superhuman
or
magical
means.The
worlds
they
live
in
vary
greatly
from
novel
to
novel,but
the
important
characteristics
of
the
character
type
itself
remain
more
or
less
the
same.One
of
the
great
strengths
of
the
wizard
figure
is
that
nearly
any
type
of
character
can
be
one.Authors
have
created
wizards
out
of
men
and
women
of
all
personalities,
backgrounds,
and
abilities,
but
although
almost
any
type
of
person
or
character
in
fantasy
literature
can
be
a
wizard,
those
who
are
have
several
important
characteristics
in
common.
Wizards
in
fantasy
literature
are
rarely
static
figures.They
are
almost
always
driven
by
some
quest
(追求)
or
desire
that
they
use
their
power
to
achieve.This
is
one
of
the
main
differences
between
wizards
in
fantasy
literature
and
those
in
the
older
fairy
tales
and
knightly
epics
that
came
before
fantasy
literature.In
folk
and
fairy
tales,
which
are
more
focused
on
the
adventures
of
knightly
heroes,the
wizards
often
serve
as
no
more
than
a
plot?furthering
device,
giving
the
hero
a
quest
to
pursue
and
equipping
them
for
the
trials
they
eventually
face.But
in
fantasy
literature,
the
wizards
themselves
can
play
the
role
of
hero.

Ⅰ.阅读理解
One
summer
evening
I
was
sitting
by
the
open
window,
reading
a
good
science
storybook.I
was
so
interested
in
the
story
I
was
reading
that
I
did
not
notice
that
it
was
getting
dark.When
I
realised
it
was
too
dark
for
me
to
read
easily,
I
put
the
book
down
and
got
up
to
turn
on
the
light.Just
then
I
heard
someone
crying,“Help!
Help!”
It
seemed
to
come
from
the
trees
at
the
other
end
of
the
yard.I
looked
out
but
it
was
now
too
dark
to
see
anything
clearly.Almost
immediately
I
heard
the
cry
again.It
sounded
like
a
child.
I
decided
that
I
should
have
a
look
in
the
yard,just
in
case
someone
was
in
trouble.I
turned
on
the
light
and
found
for
myself
a
flashlight
and
a
stick
in
the
room.I
thought
they
might
be
useful.Armed
with
these,
I
went
out
into
the
yard.Once
again
I
heard
the
cry
and
this
time
there
was
no
doubt
that
it
came
from
the
trees
at
the
far
end
of
the
yard.“Who's
there?”
I
called
out
as
I
walked
across
the
yard
towards
the
trees.But
there
was
no
answer.With
the
help
of
my
flashlight,
I
searched
all
over
that
end
of
the
yard,
including
the
branches
of
the
trees.There
was
no
sign
of
anybody
or
anything.I
came
to
the
conclusion
that
my
imagination
was
playing
tricks
on
me,
probably
because
of
the
story
I
was
reading
about
strange
creatures
on
another
planet.
Feeling
rather
foolish
about
hunting
around
in
my
own
backyard,
I
went
back
into
the
house
and
put
the
stick
and
the
flashlight
away.I
had
just
sat
down
to
read
my
book
again
when
I
was
frightened
by
the
cry
of
“Help!
Help!”
from
right
behind
me.I
dropped
my
book
and
jumped
up.There,
sitting
on
my
book
was
a
large
green
and
red
bird.It
was
my
neighbour's
parrot
(鹦鹉)!
It
seemed
as
if
the
bird
was
very
interested
in
the
story.
“我”正在读一本关于外星球奇异生物的故事书,这本书太精彩了,以至于“我”没有注意到天黑了。“我”放下书打开了灯,就在这时,奇怪的事情发生了。

Ⅱ.概要写作
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
Can
YouTube
help
us
learn
a
foreign
language?
It's
a
website
that
everyone
has
heard
of.
Perhaps
most
people
even
use
it
on
a
daily
basis,
and
it's
a
form
of
both
entertainment
and
social
media.
But
can
we
use
YouTube
to
help
us
learn
a
foreign
language?
Of
course
there
are
channels
which
produce
video
classes
dedicated
to
helping
us
learn,
but
what
about
the
standard
daily
vlog(视频博客)
videos?
Can
they
be
valuable
learning
resources
too?
In
my
opinion,
they're
a
way
of
experiencing
how
real
people
talk.
This
makes
a
good
change
from
the
listening
exercises
we
hear
in
class,
which
aren't
always
authentic.
For
example,many
English
speakers
have
different
accents
or
use
lots
of
colloquial(口语的)
words
and
phrases—have
you
ever
heard
them
say
‘all
right,
guys’as
a
greeting
in
a
listening
clip(片段)?
Some
English
learners
don't
have
the
chance
to
talk
to
native
speakers
in
person,
so
surely
YouTube
videos
can
offer
an
invaluable
alternative.
To
add
to
this,
there
is
more
to
learning
a
language
than
simply
words,
phrases
and
grammar.
It's
also
about
the
culture
of
the
language's
speakers.
As
YouTube
increases
in
popularity,
it
also
offers
an
insight
into
popular
culture.
As
well
as
the
channels
themselves
that
are
popular,
through
watching
the
videos
we
can
learn
about
a
country's
fashion
trends,
popular
video
games
and
simply
how
people
spend
their
daily
lives.
However,
some
people
would
argue
that
listening
to
YouTubers
will
only
make
us
fall
into
bad
habits.
Not
only
do
they
often
use
colloquial
words,
but
sometimes
their
speech
is
even
grammatically
incorrect.
Why
would
we
want
to
risk
learning
to
speak
in
a
way
that
isn't
even
right?
Then
again,
others
say
that
this
is
the
way
that
people
really
talk,
so
we
should
get
used
to
it.
It
is
debatable
whether
YouTube
can
help
with
language
learning.
But
one
thing
for
certain
is
that
it
can
be
a
great
source
of
entertainment!
