Teaching Plan for Unit 4 lesson 24
Good morning , everyone! I’m Si Chunfang from Jiusan Junior Middle School. Today I’ll introducing my teaching design for Lesson 24 unit 4 。I’ll mainly talk from the following six parts:
Part I. Analysis of Teaching Materials and students:
The textbook we use belongs to Go for it series. And this lesson is focused on months and festivals. In my opinion, the original teaching schedule is not that suitable for learning, so I adjust some parts. Change 搇et抯 talk to Let抯 discuss and write. And I also add a listening practice here to train the Ss listening ability. As for Ss, the Ss of Junior one are between 12 and 14, they are active, curious and thirsty for knowledge; So I try to create a good language environment. And in the previous units, they have learned about daily life, hobbies and invitation. They also master certain basic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
And just due to the above, I design my teaching targets as bellow:
Part II. Teaching Targets:
Knowledge targets:
words and phrases: May, June, Mother抯 Day, Father抯 Day, Labour Day, Children抯 Day, the fifth month of the year, the sixth month of the year
sentence pattern: May is the fifth month of the year
Ability targets: Ss can use the pattern to express their thoughts in the proper situation.
Emotion targets: Ss experience festivals and learn to show their love to others
Part III. Importance and Difficulties:
This is a stage of development and improvement.
Part IV. Teaching strategies and teaching aids:
To make the teaching aims come true, I choose task-based, student-centered, audio-visual teaching methods and teaching aids include a multimedia, a CD and some real materials.
Part V. Teaching procedures
Period 1 Self-study
Before the class, I make free talks with some of the students. It can both review the old points and make them less nervous.
Show the preparation homework by PPT to check if they do the homework carefully and if they have some difficulties. In this way I naturally lead in the words and phrases I will use in this lesson.
Period 2 Leading-in and learning
Ask the Ss to put the word 揗ay攁nd 搕he fifth month of the year together to make up a sentence. Do the same for 揓une and the sixth month of the year to get the pattern. Then practice the pattern one by one. In this period, students grasp the pattern step by step.
Period 3 Practice
This period I design five kinds of practice to train the Ss listening, speaking, reading and writing. The practice includes a matching practice , a guessing games
, filling the form, listening practice, discussing and writing..
Period 4 Summarizing
Ask some student to say what they have learn about in this lesson. Offer help if necessary.
Period 5 Homework-layout
tell the students to choose a month to write about ,and try to find some information about some western festivals.
