教学设计思路:
在学习新课前，通过热身和复习，来复习已学知识。然后，通过多媒体课件展示本课新知识，教师指导学生分小组练习，巩固新知识。教师指导完成相关练习。
教学目标:
一.知识目标:1.能够听说读写单词和短语: Canada, French, English, Niagara Falls, waterfall, CN Tower.
2.能够熟练运用句型:
What do you know? I know___.
二.能力目标:
能用英语介绍加拿大的基本情况。
三.情感目标:
增强学生学习英语的兴趣，培养跨文化意识。
多媒体教学思路:在教学中，要把多媒体和课本紧密联系起来，通过课件展示，来达到多媒体教学和学科的整合，从而达到一定的效果。
教学准备:
学生准备:有关加拿大的知识. 红色纸和白色纸，剪刀，胶水。
老师准备:多媒体，录音机，地图。
教学过程:
一.Warm up:
用“Stop! Go!”的变化形式做游戏。将学生分为不同的小组，每个小组代表一个国家，教师命令学生停下时，说出一个国家的名字，然后学生对着最近的人说：Hello! My name is ___. I live in China。 I speak Chinese。
二.Review:
师生问答操练:
What country did we learn yesterday? (China.)
Where do we live? (China.)
What do we speak in China? (Chinese.)
What’s the capital city of China? (It’s Beijing.)
Can you talk about China’s flag? (It’s red. It has five yellow stars.)
What are the famous places in China? (Tian’anmen Square, the Palace Museum and so on.)
(通过综合语言训练方式复习了中国的基本常识.)
三. New concepts. (Canada)
1.We live in China. Do you know where Jenny and Danny live?
Do you know about Canada?(学生谈他们所了解的加拿大.)
通过学生对加拿大的了解，?激发他们继续学习有关加拿大知识的积极性。
2. First, listen to the tape and follow it.
Second, try to answer the questions in pairs.(课件)
What country is this? (Canada.)?
Where do Jenny and Danny live??(Canada.)?
What do they speak in Canada? (English and French.)
What is the capital city of Canada? (It’s Ottawa.)
What colour is Canada’s flag? (Canada’s flag is red and
White. It has a leaf.)
What famous places does Canada have?
Niagara Falls. It is a famous waterfall in Canada. And also there is the CN Tower. It is very tall.
Besides these, there are Rocky Mountains in Canada. They are very beautiful and famous.
通过一系列提问让学生了解加拿大的基本常识。
3.利用红色和白色的纸制作加拿大国旗.
亲手制作加拿大国旗,让学生终身难忘加拿大国旗的样子。
4. Practise in groups.
One student ask some questions about Canada, the other student anwser these questions. (进一步巩固加拿大的知识.)
5. Finish part 3: Let’s do it. (Find out more about Canada.)
6. Do exercises. ( Exercise 1 and exercise 2 )
四. Class closing.
五.Homework: 1.介绍并写一写加拿大.
2.每人制作一个加拿大的国旗。
3.收集有关美国的信息。
