教材分析
本单元是义务教育冀教版小学英语教科书六年级上册第三单元,本单元围绕话题“Winter in Canada”,即李明在加拿大时所感知到的加拿大的季节及相关代表性活动展开介绍和描述。本课是第16课,它是在学习了季节变化、冬季着装、冬季活动之后,以A Skating Lesson为载体,学习Danny、Jenny和Li Ming滑冰的故事,学生们对加拿大的季节特点和相关户外活动生活充满好奇,能拓宽学生视野,提高跨文化交际能力。
学情分析
六年级学生已经掌握了一些关于季节和相关户外活动的词汇及动词短语,有了一定的口语表达能力,对情态动词can有了基本了解,并能通过学习语篇,进一步发展学生的阅读理解能力和语言交际能力,培养学生的思维品质,提高学生用英语解决现实生活中有关问题的能力。
教学目标
1.学生能够听懂、会说、认读并书写下列词汇late,can , think。
2.学生能认读、理解并运用下列句子:
Can you skate ?
I think I can.
I fell down.
3.学生能够用所学语言来简单描述滑冰活动。
4.在阅读、交流中激发学生的学习兴趣,培养学生的思维品质及诚实、谦虚的好品质。

重点:学生能熟练运用所学词汇和句型Can you … ? I can / I think I can.进行实际交流。

教学过程
Step 1 Warming up .
1. Greetings
T: Good morning, boys and girls.
Ss: Good morning, Ms. Zhang.
2. Let’s do it.(True. /A lie.)。
T:I am a teacher. I can play ping-pong . I like to watch TV. I can speak English. I can swim. (采用思维导图的形式呈现,教师叙述完一句,教师根据实际情况用笑脸、哭脸标识,学生回答That’s true. 或That’s a lie. 教师问Am I honest? 学生回答Yes, you are. 或No, you aren’t.)
设计意图:通过True. /A lie.游戏,调动学生思维,在交流碰撞中产生思想的火花,同时为下文做好铺垫。
3.播放武大靖短道速滑视频。
T:He skates and skates. Can you skate? Let’s go into Lesson 16 :A Skating Lesson.
设计意图:通过播放视频,自然地将滑冰的真实情景引入英语课堂,调动了学生的视觉、听觉和感觉,对学生有一定的激励作用,同时引入了本课的主题“skating”。
Step 2 Learning the text
创设真实情景。(Danny is late.)
通过Jenny和Li Ming交谈的图片创设真实情景。教师提问:Where are Jenny and Li Ming? What are they doing? Where is Danny? 学生根据图片回答。最后一个问题教师回答:Danny is late. 教师问:What’s the meaning of late? 学生根据语境猜测。继续情景展示,教师说:Look! Here comes Danny. What’s Danny doing? What’s he wearing?学习skates, 出示词汇, skates, snake, skate, lake, late让学生试读,并编成故事进行chat练习。教师继续问:How does Danny feel?What does Jenny and Li Ming do? What will Danny do?学生根据实际情况回答,
设计意图:创设真实情景,采用提问的方式,并步步追问,再追问,让学生的思维动起来,让学生的语言活起来,并为下文做了背景知识的铺垫。
Look, listen and find.(通过看图片、听故事找出谁是老师、谁是学生。)
出示李明站立,丹尼摔倒的图片,教师提问;Who is the teacher? Who is the student?并询问:How do you know that? can . can’ t .学生根据图片回答。学生听课文并回答:Who is the teacher? Who is the student? How do you know that?
设计意图:同样的问题,看图画和听课文得出不一样的结论。这样既培养了学生的观察能力,又培养了学生的思维、理解与提取信息的能力。
3.Read and find.(快速浏览故事,找出与故事相符的情节.)

设计意图:采用寻读策略,培养学生阅读技巧,提升学生阅读能力,并整体了解故事情节。
4. Read ,answer and practice.(有心阅读找出关键词句及一些细节。)
教师提出问题:What does Li Ming learn? How do you know that? 小组内细读故事找出答案并与大家分享。学习知识点:stand up on the ice,skate over to,提示stop on the ice, 要保护自己。教师:Li Ming can stand up on the ice. I can speak English. I can .学生根据实际回答。小组内接龙式练习Can you …… ?Yes, I can. /I think I can. /No, I can’t. 然后展示,并通过课后题进行练习。
设计意图:有心阅读找出关键词句及一些细节,能帮助我们更好的理解故事。并对重点句型进行操练,达到语言交际的功能。
5.抢答游戏。
(1)Read the story and answer the questions by yourself.
a. What is Danny going to do?
b. Is Danny early or late?
c. Can Li Ming stand up on the ice?
d. Does Li Ming learn fast?
e. What happened to Danny?
(2)小组讨论,写出最完整的回答。
(3)抢答:小组之间抢答,回答最快最准的得分。
设计意图:本环节学生通过自我阅读故事,完成练习,培养学生自主学习的能力。同时,合作学习促进了学生的交流;抢答激发了学生的竞争意识和学习斗志。
6. Read the story and think. Why does Danny fall down again and again?
通过 What happened to Danny? 的回答引出Why does Danny fall down again and again?学生再读课文并仔细想一想,小组讨论,用I think Danny ,because .回答并和同学们一起分享。(I think Danny isn’t ready, because he is late. / I think Danny is happy, because Li Ming can skate./ I think Danny is tired, because he wants to have a rest. I think Danny makes a joke, because he is funny.),之后,完成一个思维训练。
设计意图:设置开放性的问题,启发学生思考,增强学生分析能力、理解能力、概括能力以及语言的表达能力,从而提高学生的思维能力。
7. Make an ending for the story.(给故事加一个结尾。)

Li Ming, Jenny and Danny are on the ice. Danny teaches Li Ming to skate. Danny teaches Li Ming how to stand up on the ice,skate and stop on the ice
Li Ming learns fast. But Danny falls down again and again. Li Ming thinks Danny isn’t ready, because he is late. At last, Li Ming teaches Danny to skate. They have fun.
