Analysis of Teaching Material
In this unit, Li Ming spends Christmas with Danny, Jenny and Jenny’s family. This unit aims to introduce students the basic vocabulary and expressions about a very important part of Western culture - Christmas and Christmas traditions in Canada. In this lesson, students will be able to aurally understand, orally use, recognize some new vocabulary and sentences about Christmas. The teacher will demonstrate new words by using pictures, real objectives as well as body language. Students are encouraged to guess the meaning of long sentences within the context.
Analysis of Students
Students in Grade 6 are active and energetic. They are eager to learn and show. They enjoy reading stories and telling to each other, but they have difficulty understanding long sentences. They can understand the text much better with the help of pictures as well as the teacher抯 guidance.
