B
Though
it
is
not
good
for
us
to
expose
ourselves
to
sunlight
for
too
long,
allowing
ourselves
appropriate
amount
of
exposure
to
sunlight
gives
us
many
benefits
and
affects
us
in
a
number
of
ways.
Without
the
sun,
life
would
not
have
developed.
It
gives
us
energy
and
heats
our
world.
The
sun
gives
us
light
and
thus
in
turn
we
are
able
to
see
the
beautiful
colors
in
our
world.
It
makes
us
feel
good
when
we
feel
the
warmth
of
its
rays
on
our
shoulders.
We
store
the
energy
from
the
sun
to
help
build
and
heat
our
houses.
Without
sunlight
we
would
not
be
able
to
survive.
Sunlight
gives
balance.
All
living
things
live
in
a
food
chain
and
at
the
beginning
of
the
food
chain
comes
the
plant
which
absorbs
sunlight
and
transforms
light
energy
into
chemical
energy,
which
will
then
be
absorbed
by
another
life
to
be
turned
into
a
new
kind
of
energy
and
so
on.
One
of
the
benefits
that
we
can
get
from
sunlight
is
that
we
can
receive
vitamin
D
from
sunlight.
It
helps
us
to
keep
a
healthy
body,
control
the
amount
of
minerals
in
the
body,
which
is
needed
to
help
keep
our
bones
and
teeth
in
good
condition
and
helps
to
keep
a
well-balanced
mind.
Different
places
on
the
earth
receive
varying
degrees
of
sunlight,
which
will
decide
the
region’s
climate.
For
example,
the
farther
away
it
is
from
the
equator
(赤道),
the
sharper
the
angle
(角度)
of
the
sun’s
rays
that
reach
it,
which
means
that
sunlight
coverage
will
be
more
spread
out,
and
receive
less
heat
than
lower
latitude
areas
nearer
the
equator.
24.Why
does
sunlight
give
balance?
A.It
helps
to
pass
energy.
B.It
helps
to
absorb
energy.
C.It
helps
to
form
new
lives.
D.It
helps
to
protect
new
lives.
25.Sunlight
can
assist
people
in____.
A.increasing
the
amount
of
minerals
B.obtaining
a
healthy
nerve
system
C.keeping
their
bones
and
teeth
healthy
D.keeping
a
delighted
mind
26.What’s
the
main
idea
of
the
last
paragraph?
A.Which
place
is
the
hottest.
B.How
sunlight
affects
the
climate.
C.How
to
get
more
sunlight.
D.How
much
sunlight
a
place
needs.
27.What
would
be
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.Avoid
being
exposed
to
sunlight
too
long
B.Follow
the
researchers’
words
C.Good
effects
of
sunlight
on
our
lives
D.Making
full
use
of
sunlight
C
If
humans
ever
hope
to
live
on
the
Mars,
the
settlers
will
need
to
produce
a
series
of
organic
compounds
(有机化合物),
from
fuels
to
drugs,
which
are
too
expensive
to
ship
from
Earth.
Chemists
from
University
of
California,
Berkeley,
and
Lawrence
Berkeley
National
Laboratory
(Berkeley
Lab)
have
a
plan
for
that.
For
the
past
eight
years,
the
researchers
have
been
working
on
a
system
combining
bacteria
and
nanowires
(细菌和纳米线)
that
can
catch
the
energy
of
sunlight
to
change
carbon
dioxide
(CO,)
and
water
into
building
blocks
for
organic
things.
Nanowires
are
thin
wires
about
one-hundredth
the
width
of
a
human
hair,
used
as
electronic
parts,
and
also
as
solar
cells.
“On
Mars,
about
96%
of
the
atmosphere
is
CO2.
Basically,
all
you
need
is
these
nanowires
to
take
in
the
solar
energy
and
pass
it
on
to
these
bacteria
to
do
the
chemistry
for
you,”
said
project
leader
Peidong
Yang,
professor
of
chemistry
and
the
S.K.
and
Angela
Chan
Distinguished
Chair
in
Energy
at
UC
Berkeley.
“For
a
deep
space
task,
you
care
about
the
weight,
and
biological
systems
have
the
advantage
that
they
self-reproduce:
You
don’t
need
to
send
a
lot.
That’s
why
this
version
is
highly
attractive.”
The
only
other
requirement,
besides
sunlight,
is
water,
which
on
Mars
is
relatively
more
than
enough
in
the
polar
ice
caps
and
likely
lies
frozen
underground
over
most
of
the
planet,
said
Yang.
It
works
like
photosynthesis
(光合作用),
which
plants
naturally
employ
to
change
CO2
and
water
into
carbon
compounds,
mostly
sugar
and
carbohydrates.
Plants,
however,
have
a
quite
low
efficiency
(效率),
usually
changing
less
than
one-half
percent
of
solar
energy
into
carbon
compounds.
Yang’s
system
is
comparable
to
the
plant
that
best
changes
CO2
to
sugar,
which
is
4~5%
efficient.
28.What
is
the
function
of
the
new
biological
system?
A.Reducing
air
pollution
on
Mars.
B.Carrying
many
organic
things
to
Mars.
C.Helping
to
produce
organic
compounds
on
Mars.
D.Making
building
blocks
without
sunlight.
29.Why
is
the
self-reproduction
possible
on
Mars?
A.There’s
plenty
of
CO2,
water
and
sunlight
on
Mars.
B.Mars
is
much
easier
to
land
than
other
planets.
C.Spaceship
technology
has
developed
a
lot.
D.Lots
of
oxygen
was
found
on
Mars.
30.What
can
we
learn
about
Yang’s
system
according
to
the
last
paragraph?
A.It
doesn’t
need
carbon
dioxide
and
water.
B.It
can
be
replaced
by
plants
in
space.
C.Its
efficiency
is
higher
than
natural
photosynthesis’s.
D.It
functions
based
on
rules
different
from
photosynthesis.
31.In
which
part
of
a
newspaper
may
this
text
appear?
A.Life.
B.Science.
C.Health.
D.Education.
D
I
have
a
neighbour
we
call
“Happy”.I
have
never
seen
her
angry
at
anything
and
never
heard
her
say
a
harsh
(苛刻的)
word
to
anyone
or
about
anyone.
Happy
and
her
husband
Ben,
70,have
a
huge
garden.
They
spent
many
happy
hours
together
working
on
it.
Most
of
the
neighbours
watched
interestingly
as
Ben
doubled
the
size
of
their
garden.
As
the
cost
of
food
climbed
faster
than
Ben’s
beans,we
all
wished
we
also
had
such
a
large
garden.
As
the
rest
of
us
spent
our
dollars
at
the
market,Happy
could
be
seen
picking
beans
in
her
back
yard.
Last
month,Happy
and
Ben
invited
most
of
the
neighbourhood
over
for
an
“all?-day
food
fest”.We
were
told
to
bring
gloves
and
arrive
very
early
in
the
morning.
We
didn’t
know
what
was
about
to
take
place.
By
9:00
am,there
were
nine
of
us
in
the
garden
picking
tomatoes,beans,okra
and
squash.
By
10:00
am,there
was
lots
of
laughter.
We
shared
a
lot
of
stories.
By
five
o’clock,everyone
was
a
little
drunk
from
the
wine
and
beer.
After
dinner,we
played
games.
As
we
were
leaving,Happy
and
Ben
handed
each
of
us
a
shopping
bag
filled
with
the
bounty
(收成)
of
the
day,already
packaged
and
frozen.
What
a
delightful
gift!
Well,the
point
wasn’t
so
much
about
the
food.
The
true
gift
was
a
day
of
friends
enjoying
one
another’s
company.
None
of
it
would
have
happened
if
it
had
not
been
for
Happy
and
Ben’s
garden.
Now
they
have
a
blog
about
gardening
in
case
we
decide
to
plant
a
garden.
And
I
am
so
proud
of
my
tomato
plants!
32.We
can
infer
that
Happy
and
her
husband
Ben
.
A.are
a
generous
and
warm?hearted

each
other

their
garden
D.don’t
like
spending
time
with
others
33.According
to
Paragraph
2,people

had
a
garden
so
that
.
A.they
didn’t
have
to
spend
so
much
money
on
food
B.they
could
grow
vegetables
and
sell
them
at
the
market
C.they
could
invite
their
neighbours
and
hold
parties
in
it
D.they
could
spend
happy
time
together
with
their
family
in
it
34.For

invite
the
neighbours
to
their
garden?
A.To
ask
them
to
attend
a
birthday
party.
B.To
help
them
get
to
know
each
other.

enjoy
what
they
grew
in
the
garden.
D.To
ask
them
to
share
some
interesting
stories.
35.What
can
we
learn
from
the
last
paragraph?
A.The
writer
used
to
have
a
big
garden.
B.The
writer
didn’t
like
the
food
he
received.

seven-day
44
that
aimed
to
teach
high
school
students
about
the
medical
field.
Being
45
the
ability
to
learn
and
have
exposure
to
something
like
this
was
really
important
for
46
from
my
state
of
confusion.
The
seven-day
course
was
fairly
meaningful
to
my
47
.
I
had
been
48
a
career
in
the
medical
field
since
I
entered
high
school.
49
,
I
didn't
know
what
medical
profession
would
actually
be
like.
Attending
this
institute
placed
me
in
an
environment
completely
50
from
anything
I
had
ever
experienced.
I
was
so
51
for
all
the
information
these
people
were
willing
to
give.
I
was
afraid
to
take
my
52
off
anyone.
Everything
was
a
53
experience.
Through
this
experience,
however,
I
54
that
medical
field
was
not
what
I
wanted.
I
wanted
to
55
at
school.
I
wanted
to
share
knowledge
with
students
and
participate
in
their
complete
communication.
I
wanted
to
be
able
to
get
more
friends
too.

第二节(满分25分)
67.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
A
few
years
ago,
the
company
I
worked
for
sent
my
wife
and
me
to
live
in
New
York
for
a
year.
I’ve
always
loved
running,
so
I
was
really
happy
when
I
found
out
I
lived
next
to
Central
Park.
This
meant
that
every
morning
I
could
go
for
a
run
before
I
went
to
work.
Because
a
lot
of
people
had
told
me
to
be
careful
of
robbers
in
the
park,
so
usually
I
didn’t
take
anything
with
me.
How
could
they
rob
me
if
I
didn’t
have
anything?
But
one
morning,
my
wife
gave
me
a
$
10
bill
and
asked
me
to
buy
some
bread
on
the
way.
It
was
a
beautiful
morning
and
the
park
was
quiet
with
very
few
people
walking
or
jogging
(慢跑)around.
While
I
was
running
through
the
park,
another
jogger
knocked
into
me.
He
apologized
and
continued
running.
For
a
while,
I
didn’t
think
too
much
of
it.
However,
when
I
noticed
the
wide
path
where
I
was
running,
I
thought
it
was
kind
of
strange.
The
warning
of
robbers
in
the
park
occurred
to
me.
“It
could
have
been
a
robber!”
I
suddenly
became
alarmed,
so
I
checked
my
pocket
and
found
that
the
money
was
missing.
Without
thinking
twice,
I
ran
after
that
jogger.
I
finally
caught
up
and
held
him
by
the
arm.
I
shouted,
“Give
me
the
$
10
bill!
Now!”
I
am
not
usually
a
hot-headed(性急的)
person,
but
I
got
really
angry
this
time.
I
couldn’t
believe
the
robbery
was
actually
happening
to
me.
Filled
with
anger,
I
shook
my
fist
at
him.
This
seemed
to
frighten
him.
He
quickly
put
his
hand
in
his
pocket
and
gave
me
the
money.
Then
he
ran
away
as
fast
as
he
could.
I
bought
the
bread
and
went
home.
As
soon
as
I
got
home,
I
couldn’t
wait
to
tell
my
wife
my
story.
“You
won’t
believe
what
happened
to
me,”
I
started
with
pride.
She
immediately
stopped
me,
“I
know,
you
left
the
money
for
the
bread
on
the
kitchen
table.”
注意:
1.
续写词数应为150左右;
2.

Can

No.

three

a

W:
What
kind
of
television
do
you
want
to
buy?
M:
A
color
TV
set,
of
course,
but
I’m
not
sure
about
the
size.
Maybe
we
should
buy
a
big
one.
If
we
buy
a
small
ne,
we
might
have
to
exchange
it
in
a
few
years
for
a
bigger
one.
That
would
be
a
waste
of
money.
What’s
your
opinion?
W:
In
my
opinion,
I
don’t
think
it’s
necessary
to
buy
a
very
big
one.
M:
Any
particular
reason?
W:
Yes.
As
far
as
I
know,
your
living
room
isn’t
very
big.
If
you
put
a
very
big
television
there,
it
will
be
bad
for
your
eyes.
Besides,
a
small
TV
set
can
still
pick
up
the
same
programs.
M:
Hmm,
that’s
quite
true.
I’ll
think
about
it.
W:
You’d

Prices
may

But
I

physics
last
night
affected
my

M:

W:
I
mean
that
I

about
physics
last
night.
M:
Dreamt
about
physics?
What
did
you
dream
about?
W:
Hmm,
I
think
I
remember
Newton
falling
out
of
an
apple
tree,
but
I’m
not
too
sure.
M:
Jeez,
you
shouldn’t
study
so
hard.
W:
Nothing
like
this
ever
happened
to
you?
M:
Well,
once.
I
was
having
a
really
tough
final
exam
in
French,
and
I
spent
a
whole
week
just
studying.
And
I
had
a
really
strange
dream
about
someone
asking
me
questions
in
French.
W:
What
did
the
person
ask?
M:
I
don’t
know.
In
my
dream,
I
kept
explaining
that
I
didn’t
know
a
lot
of
French,
and
I
kept
asking
him
if
he

Mr.
Brown
was
tired
of
living
in
the
big
city
where
he
worked.
He
wanted
to
move
to
the
country
and
live
in
a
house
there.
That
way,
he
could
get
up
early
and
go
to
his
office
in
the
city
every
day.
He
was
looking
for
a
house
until
he
saw
an
ad
in
a
newspaper
one
day.
The
ad
said
that
a
suitable
house
in
a
quiet
area
was
up
for
sale
at
a
reasonable
price.
It
said
that
ht
home
was
a
stone’s
throw
away
from
a
railway
station
from
which
there
were
frequent
trains
to
the
big
city.
“That’s
exactly
what
I
need,”
Mr.
Brown
said
to
himself.
So,
he
called
the
housing
agency
and
arranged
to
go
there
by
train
the
next
day
to
have
a
look
at
the
house.
The
housing
agent
met
him
at
the
station,
and
they
started
walking.
It
took
them
at
least
15
minutes
to
get
to
the
house.
When
they
reached,
Mr.
Brown
said
angrily,
“I’m
very
interested
to
meet
the
man
who
threw
the
stone
you
mentioned
in
the
newspaper!”
