W:Dad,
I'm
a
grown
woman,
and
you
can't
make
choices
for
me.
M:Ha!
If
you
were
a
grown
woman,
you
wouldn't
watch
cartoons
all
day!
(Text
2)
W:How
long
are
you
going
to
be
in
San
Francisco
and
Los
Angeles?
M:The
bus
tour
leaves
in
10
minutes.
We
have
two
days
there
and
one
day
in
L.A.
(Text
3)
W:The
lock
on
my
front
door
is
broken.
M:Why
not
have
John
fix
it?
He
is
an
expert
at
fixing
things.
(Text
4)
W:Are
you
flying
home
after
the
meeting?
M:No,
I'm
taking
the
train
this
time.
All
the
flights
are
full.
W:That's
too
bad.
It's
a
long
trip
by
train.
M:Yes,
but
I
bought
a
book
to
read.
(Text
5)
M:Hello.
What's
the
price
of
an
airmail
letter
to
the
USA?
W:That's
twenty?four
pence
and
it's
no
difference
in
price
whether
it's
for
the
USA
or
anywhere
else.
(Text
6)
M:Hello,
I'd
like
some
information
about
the
sightseeing
tour
of
London.
W:Certainly.
How
can
I
help
you?
M:Well,
can
you
tell
me
the
places
you
visit
on
the
tour?
W:The
tour
starts
in
Piccadilly
Circus
and
the
main
attractions
are
Buckingham
Palaces,
Downing
Street,
London
Bridge,
Big
Ben,
the
Tower
of
London
and
Trafalgar
Square.
M:And
how
long
does
the
tour
take?
W:It
takes
about
two
hours
in
total.
M:Do
I
have
to
book?
W:No,
you
don't
have
to
book,
but
it's
best
to
book
in
advance
if
you
want
to
be
sure
of
a
seat.
M:How
much
does
it
cost?
W:It's
£15
per
adult
and
£9
per
child.
M:Thanks.
I'd
like
three
tickets,
two
adults
and
one
child.
(Text
7)
W:I
like
to
go
to
fashion
shows.
They
give
you
some
ideas
about
what
kinds
of
clothes
are
coming
into
fashion
and
which
ones
are
going
out.
M:It's
nice
to
see
those
pretty
models
walking
down
the
runway
in
beautiful
clothing.
But
to
be
frank,
I
don't
think
those
clothes
are
practical
for
everyday
wear.
W:I
think
we're
beginning
to
see
some
practical
Italian
ready?to?wear
collections
being
shown
these
days.
And
they
reach
the
American
stores
just
a
few
weeks
after
the
major
fashion
shows.
M:This
should
be
good
news
for
America's
career
women.
They
are
this
country's
most
eager
consumers
of
Italian
styles.
It's
time
for
the
Italian
designers
to
figure
out
that
only
when
they
make
fashion
more
practical
will
they
have
a
bigger
market
here.
(Text

W:Hello,
Dan.
Is
everything
going
well?
M:Not
so
good.
W:What's
the
matter?
M:You
know
I
am
a
green
hand.
Very
few
patients
dare
to
see
me.
W:Oh,
I'm
sorry
to
hear
that.
M:Julia,
I
would
rather
be
a
musician.
You
know,
I
was
interested
in
music
when
I
was
little.
W:Dan,
never
give
up—our
mother
always
tells
us.
M:But
it's
hard!
It's
much
easier
said
than
done.
W:Don't
lose
heart.
Oh,
I
remember
I
have
interviewed
a
famous
dentist.
He
practised
skills
with
the
help
of
a
robot
at
first.
M:Really?
W:Yes.
The
robot
can
act
as
a
model
for
young
dentists
with
his
rich
facial
expressions.
They
can
make
progress
in
practice
according
to
its
reaction.
M:That
sounds
interesting.
I
want
to
have
a
try.
But
how
can
I
get
it?
W:Well,
I'll
contact
him
for
you.
M:Thank
you.
(Text

W:Good
afternoon,
I'd
like
some
information
about
the
trains,
please.
M:Yes,
madam.
Which
train?
Where
are
you
going?
W:To
Newcastle.
I
have
a
sister
there,
you
know.
We
had
a
phone
call
yesterday
and
she
invited
me
over
to
stay
for
the
weekend,
so...
M:So
your
question
is
“when's
the
next
train
to
Newcastle?”.
Is
that
right?
W:Yes,
that's
right.
When
is
the
next
train
to
Newcastle,
please?
M:At
half
past
eleven.
That's
in
about
a
minute.
W:Thank
you
very
much.
Oh!
Can
I
get
something
to
eat
on
the
train?
I
always
have
something
to
eat
when
I
travel.
I
find
that
a
cup
of
tea
and
a
sandwich
always
help
my
nerves.
M:Yes,
madam.
There's
a
buffet
car
on
the
train.
W:Oh,
good!
Er...how
much
does
a
cup
of
tea
cost?
M:I'm
not
sure,
madam.
Half
a
pound,
I
think.
W:You
mean
fifty
pennies!
Oh,
dear!
Things
are
getting
so
expensive!
M:Yes,
madam.
Your
train's
going
to
leave
in
half
a
minute
now.
W:Thank
you.
Oh!
Which
platform
does
it
leave
from?
M:Platform
13.
W:Platform
13!
Oh,
dear!
I
never
travel
on
trains
that
leave
from
platform
13!
13's
an
unlucky
number.
When
is
the
next
train
after
the
11:30?
(Text

China's
twitter?like
information
sharing
and
social
contact
platform
Weibo
has
seen
a
surge
in
popularity.
But
now
it
is
facing
a
competitor.
The
battle
among
China's
social
networks
is
heating
up.
It
turns
out
that
when
it
comes
to
instant
messaging
through
social
platforms,
people
are
choosing
WeChat
over
Weibo.
“I
choose
WeChat.
It's
more
convenient.”
“WeChat.
I
don't
use
Weibo
very
much,”
some
users
said.
WeChat,
formally
called
Weixin,
literally
translates
from
Chinese
for
Micro
Message,
is
a
mobile
application
designed
by
Tencent
Company
for
sending
voice
or
text
messages,
video
and
pictures
through
smartphones
and
tablets.
This
app,
which
allows
information
sharing
only
among
friends,
is
posing
a
big
challenge
to
Weibo.
Shi
Anbin,
Professor
of
Tsinghua
University,
News
and
Communication
School,
said,
“People
hope
to
use
more
accessible
tools...Weixin
is
a
big
challenge
to
Weibo.”
By
the
end
of
March
2012,
the
most
popular
microblog,
Sina
Weibo
had
more
than
300
million
users.
The
number
increased
to
more
than
400
million
by
the
end
of
September.
But
a
surge
in
users
hasn't
really
translated
into
a
surge
for
the
company's
bottom
line.
That's
the
biggest
problem
for
Sina
according
to
Professor
Shi
Anbin.
He
suggests
Weibo
to
learn
from
its
competitor,
which
already
has
a
mature
revenue
channel.
“Weibo
doesn't
create
income.
I
think
it
should
learn
from
WeChat,
which
creates
a
consumer
circle,”
Shi
said.
Professor
Shi
says
Weibo
should
find
a
proper
business
model
to
translate
its
popularity
and
social
function
to
benefit
the
company.
第二部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分35分)
第一节:(共10小题;每小题2.5分,满分25分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
Parents
will
do
anything
for
their
children.
Whether
it
would
be
the
food,
clothes,
or
the
place
they
live
in,
parents
will
always
make
sure
their
children
have
the
best
of
everything.
One
of
the
biggest
concerns
that
parents
currently
have
is
educating
their
children.
They
are
faced
with
lots
of
difficulties
when
it
comes
to
education
for
their
young
ones.
Choices
include
private
school,
charter
school,
public
school
or
home
schooling.
Fortunately
for
parents,
there
are
a
variety
of
different
strategies
that
they
can
take
in
order
to
increase
their
child's
overall
intelligence.
According
to
Ross
A.
Thompson,
PhD,
professor
of
psychology
at
the
University
of
California
at
Davis,
a
child's
brain
will
actually
reach
90%
of
its
full
size
by
the
time
they
start
kindergarten.
Researchers
at
Northwestern
University
in
Chicago
concluded
that
playing
a
musical
instrument
directly
affected
the
brain
stem,
the
lower
section
of
the
brain.
Moreover,
children
that
learn
an
instrument
at
an
early
age
tend
to
continue
it
when
they
are
older.
And
numerous
studies
show
that
a
well
balanced
meal
is
essential
for
a
child's
mental
as
well
as
physical
health.
Some
other
researchers
recommended
that
a
second
language
should
be
taught
when
children
are
in
preschool.
They
state
that
three
to
four
years
of
age
is
the
perfect
time
and
that
any
age
under
four
would
work
perfectly
fine
for
a
child's
brain
development.
The
average
child
will
learn
how
to
read
between
kindergarten
and
second
grade.
Many
parents
can
give
their
children
a
jump_start
by
teaching
them
to
read
before
they
start
school.
Children
could
have
an
adequate
background
of
the
alphabet
and
sounds
of
words
before
attending
school.
This
can
be
done
by
simply
reading
to
them
whenever
you
want.
The
more
comfortable
they
get,
the
easier
the
process
will
be.
21.From
the
first
paragraph,
we
can
infer
that
________.
A.parents
find
it
hard
to
satisfy
their
kids'
various
demands
B.parents
meet
a
new
challenge
when
raising
their
kids
C.parents
have
more
choices
in
offering
education
to
their
kids
D.parents
get
actively
involved
in
the
process
of
their
kids'
growth
22.What
suggestion
may
the
researchers
in
the
passage
make?
A.To
train
kids
as
early
as
possible.
B.To
try
as
many
means
as
possible.
C.To
help
kids
develop
as
fully
as
possible.
D.To
use
as
many
available
resources
as
possible.
23.What
does
the
third
paragraph
mainly
discuss
about?
A.The
proper
time
to
teach
children
to
learn
languages.
B.The
effective
ways
to
help
develop
children's
brains.
C.The
vital
factors
to
have
a
great
effect
on
children's
health.
D.The
practical
steps
to
arouse
children's
interest
in
study.
24.We
can
replace
the
words
“jump
start”
in
the
last
paragraph
with
________.
A.inspiration
B.introduction
C.suggestion
D.promotion
答案与解析
本文是一篇教育类文章,讲述家长应在孩子学前进行培养,这样会给孩子一个较高的起点,孩子们上学后也会更轻松。
21.B 细节理解题。根据第一段提到One
of
the
biggest
concerns
that
parents
currently
have
is
educating
their
children.
They
are
faced
with
lots
of
difficulties
when
it
comes
to
education
for
their
young
ones.
Choices
include
private
school,
charter
school,
public
school
or
homeschooling.可知,现在家长面临的最大问题是教育自己的孩子,但又面临很多的困难,到底选择私立学校、公立学校还是家庭教育,故选B项。
22.A 推理判断题。根据第三段中Research
suggests
that
a
second
language
should
be
taught
when
children
are
in
preschool.
Other
studies
state
that
three
to
four
years
of
age
is
the
perfect
time.
Many
parents
can
give
their
children
a
jump
start
by
teaching
them
to
read
before
they
start
school.可知,许多父母通过在上学之前就教给孩子阅读,这样给了孩子一个跳跃式的开始,也就是有一个高的起点,promotion意为“提升”,与jump
start意思相近,故选D项。
B
You
wake
up
in
the
morning.
The
day
is
beautiful
and
the
plans
for
the
day
are
what
you
have
been
looking
forward
to
for
a
long
time.
And
then
the
telephone
rings,
you
say
hello,
and
the
play
starts.
The
person
on
the
other
end
has
a
sad
tone
in
his
voice
as
he
starts
to
tell
you
how
terrible
his
morning
is
and
that
there
is
nothing
to
look
forward
to.
You
are
still
in
a
wonderful
mood(心情)?
Impossible!
Communicating
with
negative
(消极的)
people
can
wash
out
your
happiness.
It
may
not
change
what
you
think,
but
communicating
long
enough
with
them
will
make
you
feel
unhappy
for
a
moment
or
a
long
time.
Life
brings
ups
and
downs,
but
some
people
are
trapped
in
the
wrong
idea
that
life
has
no
happiness
to
offer.
They
only
feel
glad
when
they
make
others
feel
bad.
It
is
not
strange
that
they
can
hardly
win
others'
pity
or
respect.
When
you
communicate
with
happy
people,you
will
stay
happy.
When
the
knife
of
a
negative
person
is
put
in
you,
you
feel
the
heavy
feeling
that,
all
in
all,
brings
you
down.
Sometimes
we
have
no
choice
but
to
communicate
with
negative
people.
This
could
be
a
co?worker,
or
a
relative.
In
this
situation,
say
what
needs
to
be
said
as
little
as
possible.

What
makes
a
gift
special?
Is
it
the
price
you
see
on
the
gift
box?
Or
is
it
the
look
on
the
recipient's
face
when
he
receives
it
that
determines
the
true
value?
What
gift
is
worth
the
most?
This
Christmas
I
was
wondering
what
to
give
my
father
when
I
came
across
a
message
on
my
phone.
The
message
was
from
my
father.
My
eyes
fell
on
a
photo
of
a
flower
and
underneath(在……下面)
a
poem
by
William
Blake.
The
dandelion(蒲公英)
standing
against
the
bright
blue
sky
gave
me
an
idea.
My
dad
had
been
reading
those
words
to
me
since
I
was
a
kid.
That
may
even
be
the
reason
why
I
love
writing.
I
decided
that
those
words
would
be
my
gift
to
my
father.
I
called
back.
I
told
my
mum
to
go
without
me
and
that
I
had
already
made
my
gift.
I
sent
the
photo
of
the
creamcoloured
flower
to
my
computer
and
typed
the
poem
on
top
of
it.
As
I
was
arranging
the
details,
another
poem
came
to
my
mind.
The
poem
was
written
by
Edgar
Allan
Poe;
my
dad
read
it
as
much
as
he
did
the
other.
I
typed
that
out
too
and
searched
online
for
a
background
to
the
words
of
it.
As
I
watched
both
poems
passing
through
the
printer,
the
white
paper
was
coloured
with
words
that
shaped
my
childhood.
I
felt
that
this
was
a
gift
that
my
father
would
truly
appreciate.
Christmas
soon
arrived.
The
minute
I
saw
the
look
on
my
dad's
face
as
he
opened
the
gift,
I
knew
I
had
given
the
perfect
gift
full
of
my
love.

dad
had
been
reading
those
words
to
me
since
I
was
a
kid.That
may
even
be
the
reason
why

poem
by

30.D 细节理解题。根据文章第三段作者制作礼物的过程可知答案为D。
第二节:(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
I'm
30
years
old,
and
there
are
several
things
that
life
has
taught
me
that
I
want
to
share
with
you.
Here
are
the
4
lessons
that
life
has
taught
me
in
the
past
30
years.
Take
care
of
your
body.
Life
is
“unfairly”
biased
(偏向的)
towards
people
who
“look
good”,
like
it
or
not.
So
it's
important
that
you
do
all
that
is
in
your
power
to
look
your
best.
__31__
You
will
live
longer,
and
you
will
live
happier,
if
you
take
care,
of
your
body;
you
may
even
get
promoted
faster
on
your
job.
Remember
that
your
health
is
really
your
greatest
wealth.
__32__
No
one
taught
me
to
save
when
I
was
growing
up;
no
one
told
me
the
importance
of
saving.
Fortunately,
I
was
able
to
learn
the
value
of
saving
through
reading
great
books
like
The
Millionaire
Next
Door.
What
I
want
to
teach
others
is
to
save
at
least
twenty
per
cent
of
your
income.
If
you
are
to
be
wealthy,
you
must
not
just
earn
a
lot,
you
must
save
a
lot.
Think
in
the
long
term.
In
high
school
I
was
thinking
about
college,
and
in
college
I
was
thinking
about
life
after
college.
I'm
designing
my
life
and
I'm
making
decisions
today
that
will
enable
me
to
live
the
life
I
desire
when
I'm
in
my
40's,
50's
and
60's.
You
have
to
think
in
the
long
term;
you
have
to
see
the
“big
picture”.
__33__
Realize
the
power
of
focus.
Focus,
focus,
focus...
__34__
If
you
fail
in
this
lifetime,
you
fail
because
of
broken
focus.
If
you
focus
on
the
goals
that
are
most
important
to
you,
you
will
achieve
them.
The
problem
is
that
there
are
so
many
distractions(使人分心的事).
__35__
Winners
decide
to
major
on
majors,
and
they
even
let
important
things
slip,
because
they
just
focus
on
achieving
what
is
critical(极重要的)
to
their
goals.
A.Save
your
money.
B.The
importance
of
saving.
C.If
you
plan
your
future
properly,
you
will
live
into
your
plans.
D.I
mean
dressing
nicely,
working
out
and
eating
right.
E.It's
critical
that
you
pursue
relationships
with
individuals
who
are
good
first.
F.Nothing
is
more
critical
than
focus.
G.What
separates
the
winners
from
the
losers
is
that
the
winners
learn
to
focus
on
their
goals.

captain
who
owned
a
ship
used
for
long
years
out
of
repair.
And
John
was
such
a
man
that
seemed
a
little
bit
mean
and
greedy.
Once
John's
ship
was
going
to
carry
passengers
to
go
across
a
deep
river.
Because
those
passengers
were
in
a
hurry
to
reach
their
places,
he
became
a
little
excited
when
he
looked
at
a
good
number
of
people.
He
was
very
happy,
thinking
that
he
would
make
enough
money
that
day!
As
a
result,
he
didn't
refuse
anyone
to
get
aboard.
And
then
the
captain
started
the
journey
soon.
There
was
something
abnormal
that
day.
It
was
kind
of
windy
and
the
current
of
the
river
was
fast
flowing
and
treacherous
(有潜在危险的),
which
made
passengers
worried
and
afraid.
Suddenly,
John,
an
experienced
captain,
felt
that
his
ship
was
going
to
sink
if
the
number
of
people
would
not
be
reduced.
Although
he
liked
money,
he
had
to
come
up
with
an
idea.
Looking
around,
John
found
the
target—a
young
man
in
quite
plain
clothes.
Actually,
he
was
the_only_one
who
didn't
get
a
seat
and
stood
in
a
corner.
Then
John
asked
the
young
man
to
jump
into
the
river.
The
young
man
got
rather
baffling
(困惑的),
asking,“Why
me?”The
captain
said
if
he
would
not
jump,
then
all
the
passengers
would
die
because
of
his
weight
in
the
ship!
The
young
man
thought
for
a
while!
He
was
such
a
generous
and
selfless
person
that
he
couldn't
accept
the
idea
of
becoming
a
cause
of
death
of
so
many
people
in
the
ship.
So
he
made_up_his_mind
to
give
up
his
own
life
for
others!
Then
he
jumped
off
the
ship
with
a
firm
determination!

范文
The
young
man
didn't
want
to
die
so
easily.
He
tried
hard
to
swim.
A
few
minutes
later,
when
he
looked
back,
he
couldn't
see
the
ship!
The
ship
and
all
the
Passengers
simply
disappeared.
The
young
man
had
no
choice
but
to
desperately
swim
to
the
bank
of
the
river.
At
the
same
time,
he
didn't
forget
to
cry
for
help
in
case
that
there
were
fishing
boats
passing
by.
As
time
went
by,
the
young
man
ran
out
of
his
strength.
Gradually,
he
began
to
sink
into
the
deep
river...
The
young
man
couldn't
believe
he
was
still
alive
after
he
woke
up.
He
found
him
lying
on
the
bed
in
a
wooden
house
and
wondered
what
had
happened.
Then
two
fishermen
came
in
and
asked
how
he
was
feeling.
It
was
these
two
people
who
saved
the
young
man's
life.
He
expressed
thanks
to
them.
Actually,
the
young
man
was
the_only_one
of
the
passengers
who
survived.
Because
of
being
overloaded,
the
ship
sank
and
no
one
survived.Parents will do anything for their children. Whether it would be the food, clothes, or the place they live in, parents will always make sure their children have the best of everything. One of the biggest concerns that parents currently have is educating their children. They are faced with lots of difficulties when it comes to education for their young ones. Choices include private school, charter school, public school or home schooling.
Fortunately for parents, there are a variety of different strategies that they can take in order to increase their child's overall intelligence. According to Ross A. Thompson, PhD, professor of psychology at the University of California at Davis, a child's brain will actually reach 90% of its full size by the time they start kindergarten.
Researchers at Northwestern University in Chicago concluded that playing a musical instrument directly affected the brain stem, the lower section of the brain. Moreover, children that learn an instrument at an early age tend to continue it when they are older. And numerous studies show that a well balanced meal is essential for a child's mental as well as physical health. Some other researchers recommended that a second language should be taught when children are in preschool. They state that three to four years of age is the perfect time and that any age under four would work perfectly fine for a child's brain development.
