Lesson 9 Whose Coat Is This ?
1.The analysis of the teaching material
This lesson is taken from Lesson 9 of Unit 2 in the seventh grade textbook that is made in Hebei Education Publishing Company.
The topic in this unit is "Colours and Clothes".It introduced some clothes and led to the use of 搘hose .
By learning this lesson, students can use the knowledge to introduce clothing.
2.Something about the students
As the seven grade students in the middle school, their English is very weak, The content of this course is closely connected with the students' daily life.

They are interested in learning ,and in the last few classes ,they have learned some colors and clothes ,and they can introduce their clothes easily.
3. Teaching aims
1.) Knowledge aims:
Understand and use the new words :
scarf -scarves ,glove-gloves , maybe , just.

Through listening,fast reading and careful reading ,the students can learn and use the key sentences: Whose coat is this ?It抯 ......./ Whose gloves are these ? They are ..... /too big /too small / just right

2.) Ability aims:
Students can make a simple dialogue and write a short passage with these sentences .
3. )Emotional aims:
Train students to help each other.
4.Teaching important points:
Master some key words and important sentences related to clothing
5. Teaching difficult points:
Train students' interest, so that students can use their knowledge to introduce clothing.
6. Teaching steps
Step 1 Lead -in
Look for the owner of the clothes .
Purpose of my designing:
By looking for the owner of the lost clothes,
we can lead to the topic of this lesson .
Step2: Some important phrases .
Show some pictures of my students. They are wearing some clothes that are 搕oo big,too small and just right
Purpose of my designing: Photos show close to the students' life, it's easier to understand
Step 3: Some important Words .
Through real object display,the students can learn the important words more visual.
Step 4: Whose gloves are these ?
Guess the owner of the gloves .
Purpose of my designing: Improve students' oral ability and writing ability.
Step5:Listen and Match .
By listening the text,cultivate the listening ability .
Step6:Fast Reading
1.The coat is (too big / too small / just right ) for Danny .
2.The gloves are (too big / too small / just right ) for Jenny .
3.The shorts are ( too big / too small / just right ) for Danny .
Purpose of my designing:To exercise “too big ,too small ,just right” and train the students' ability of fast reading to find infortmation .
Step7:Careful Reading
1.A: Is this ____coat, Bob?
B: Yes, it is my coat .
2.A: ___ gloves are these ?
B: They are Lynn抯 gloves.
3.A: Do you like these shorts?
B:Yes.They are just ____ for me .
4.A: Is this Mike抯 shirt ?
B: No. It is too ___for him . It抯 Bob抯 shirt .
Purpose of my designing: Read the text,and understand the article details.
Step8:Enjoy
Read the text aloud, develop a sense of language
Step9: Homework
Work in pairs. Look at the items in the “Lost and Found ”. Whose items are they ? Make up a dialogue
