Unit 10 Can you play the guitar 第一课时教学设计

1. Analysis of the Teaching Material:
This unit is the tenth of the book. In this unit students learn to talk about abilities. To attain four skills request of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Such a topic is related to students’ daily life, so students will feel interested in it and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English.
2. Teaching aims and demands:
(1) Knowledge objects:
A: Students know how to use the modal verb“can”, Yes/No questions and short answers.
B: Students can use the new words“dance, swim, sing, play chess, paint, speak English, play the guitar”.
C: Finish some exercises by themselves.
(2) Ability objects:
A: Students can develop their abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
B: Students can develop their abilities of working in pairs and communication by learning the useful structures.
(3) Moral objects:
Students can be active in class and show themselves to increase their interest in English learning.
3. Teaching keys and difficult points:
Key points: 1. To train the students to communicate with others.
2. To enable the students to study and finish the task in groups and co-operation.
Difficult points: Modal word “can”.
4. Teaching aids: Flash cards, tape recorder and test paper.
5. Teaching procedure.
Step 1. 激情导入( Lead-in)
Sing “Good morning”song together.
(师生共同拍手齐唱英文歌曲“Good morning to you”。这首熟悉简短的歌曲学生人人都会,个个能唱,迅速拉近了师生间的距离,有效地消除了学生对新学内容所产生的焦虑感和紧张感,而且也激发出学生的学习兴趣,使他们能很快地进入学习状态,同时也自然引出本课的生词sing及句型Can you… Yes ,I can../No,I can’t.)
Step2. 自主学习(Learn by themselves)
1. Learn new words and phrases by themselves.
2. Finish 1a and check the answers.
3. Read the conversations and practice.
(教师提出明确的自学任务,学生在各自组长的带领下,有组织,有目的地进行组内自学。逐步培养学生自主学习和合作学习的能力。)
Step3. 激情互动(Interactive passion)
1. Look and say.
2. Guessing game.
Look at the pictures and say words or phrases. Remember you only have ten seconds.
(师生互动,采用这种活动形式能很大程度的调动学生的学习积极性并能激发学生去积极思维并迅速做出反映,具有短时高效的作用。主要目的是,巩固加深记忆新学单词和短语。)
3. Pairwork
Look at the pictures, ask and answer.
A: Can you ……
B: Yes, I can./ No, I can’t.
(趁着学生的新鲜感,通过问句can you…… 展开与学生开放式的沟通与交流,通过生生互动直观有效的操练,帮助学生逐步加深对新语言知识的理解和认识,把所学语言知识渐渐转化为语言技能.)
4.Memory game
Ask four or five students to introduce their abilities. At last, let’s see which students can remember all the students’ abilities.
Use the sentence: I can/ can’t ……
He can/ can’t ……
She can/ can’t ……
……
(采用组组互动的活动方式,进一步训练目标语言,同时培养学生的团队精神,增强学生的合作和竟争意识,)
5.Make clubs.

(这一环节每个小组建立一个俱乐部,是让学生在真实的语言情境中运用本课所学语言知识去完成任务。设计的任务贴近学生生活和经验。所用的语言是交际语言,这样有助于引导学生注意语言的交际意义,同时有利于培养学生综合运用英语的能力和与他人沟通合作能力.)
6.Have a rest.
Let’s see a cartoon.
(初一学生年龄小,注意力集中时间短,所以新的语言呈现之后,一部分学生可能会分散注意力。为了及时调整他们注意力的张驰度,播放了1分钟的英文动画片,在观看的同时,再现了目标语言,学生也会产生一种收获的喜悦。)

1b: Listen and number the conversations 1-3.
2. Join us(人才招聘)
(学生小组合作,,进行人才招聘。然后又让小组上台表演,尽情展示各组的合作成果。以此培养学生综合运用语言的能力以及合作意识和团队精神,为学生提供一个展示个人风采的舞台。这一任务的完成需要更多更丰富的语言,它能体现出学生的综合运用语言能力及创新能力,也是对整节课的总结和提升。)
Step6. Homework
自制一份简历表,真实填写个人的基本情况,内容包括:姓名、年龄、性别、出生日期、电话号码、特长爱好、喜欢加入的俱乐部以及最喜欢的一句话。
(作业体现了本节课任务的延续性和拓展性,也体现了“学了就用”的新课程理念,而且作业内容与学生生活密切相关,让学生感觉到学习英语的实用价值。)
