Ask some students to present their fun things to do on weekends.
Step II New Concepts (24 minutes)
Lead-in
T: Who do you spend weekends with?
S1: My parents.
S2: My friends.
T: Do you spend a weekend with your grandfather or grandmother?
S1: Yes. Sometimes.
S2: Yes. I see my grandparents twice a month.
S3: No. I only visit my parents during the Spring Festival.
2. Presentation
Show some pictures on the PPT. Teach phone, on the phone and grocery.
T: Do you often phone your grandparents?
S1: Yes.
S2: Yes. Sometimes I can抰 visit my grandparents in time. I phone them.
Listening
Let抯 Do It! No 1. What is Zhao Hanyu going to do this weekend? Listen and tick the correct statements.
Discuss the answers as a class.
4. Future study of the text
1). Read the text by yourselves, please, and try to finish Let抯 Do It! No 2.
Ss should check and correct their answers in groups. Then discuss the answers as a class.
2). Students should use the word expensive properly answering Question 2.
3). Language points. Explain the meaning of the word anything. Compare it to the words everything, something, nothing.
