Teaching aims:
After this class, students should be able to :

know the meaning of the new words and read them correctly.
talk about their favourite toys with others in English.
Know how to help the students in poor areas, cherish the happy life they have.

Listen and read the dialogue, know the meaning of it and make up a new one.
Do a survey about what toys other students have.

Read the words and the dialogue correctly.
Use the structure correctly.

Talk about how to help the students in poor areas.
Teaching procedure:
Step 1: Warming up.
Let’s chant. She has, She can.
Free talk.
Self-introduction.
My name is Sophia.
I am a teacher.
I’m from Bazhong.
I have a big face.
My favourite colour is blue.
My favourite toy is a toy panda.
What about you?
Ask the students to introduce themselves like what the teacher did.
Step 2: Work in pairs.
Listen and answer what toy they hear.
Show pictures of the words, read them together.
Practice the structure with their deskmates.
Show their work.
Step 3: Let’s talk.
Listen and answer:
How many people are there in the dialogue?
Try to read, then choose the correct answer: what are they talking about?
Follow the tape, one sentence by one sentence.
Answer the questions:
What color is the toy car?
What is the boy’s favourite colour?
Role- play: ask them to role play the dialogue in groups of 2.
Step 4: Play a game.
Ask students to come to the board, click the spinner, choose one toy and practice the structure.
Step 5: Do a survey.
Work in groups, ask and answer, complete the chart.(√/×) Then make a report about the chart.

Step 6: Emotional sublimation
Show pictures about the happy life of our own. Then the pictures about the life of the poor students. Compare their different lives.
Ask them to free talk about the difference of the different lives.
Enjoy a video about the difference, ask them if they could do something to help the poor students and how to help them.
Step 7: Homework.
