M:I'm
going
to
the
vegetable
stand
today.
Can
I
pick
up
anything
for
you?
W:No,
thanks.
I
just
came
back
from
the
market
myself.
(Text
2)
M:Did
you
hear
about
the
big
snowstorm
in
Iowa
yesterday?
Three
feet
in
12
hours.
W:Yeah,
and
I
heard
it's
headed
our
way.
We're
supposed
to
get
the
same
thing
tonight.
(Text
3)
W:My
hand
still
hurts
from
falling
on
the
ice
yesterday.
I
wonder
if
I
broke
something.
M:I'm
no
doctor,
but
it's
not
black
and
blue
or
anything.
Maybe
you
just
need
to
rest
it
for
a
few
days.
(Text
4)
W:This
room
looks
really
dirty.
I'm
going
to
clean
the
windows.
M:It's
better
to
do
that
after
we've
finished
painting
the
walls.
W:But
I
must
clean
the
floor
before
we
start
painting.
M:OK.
You
do
that
and
I'll
get
the
paint
ready.
(Text
5)
W:Would
you
please
open
your
suitcase
for
examination?
M:OK.
W:I'm
afraid
these
paintings
are
not
allowed
to
enter.
M:What
can
I
do
with
them?
W:You
can
leave
them
at
our
checkroom
and
pick
them
up
when
you
leave
America.
(Text
6)
M:Welcome
back,
Brianna.
How's
the
new
baby?
W:Oh,
he's
doing
great.
Thanks.
M:Do
you
have
to
hire
a
full?time
babysitter
when
you
come
back
to
work?
W:No,
the
company
is
letting
me
work
part?time
for
a
few
months—until
the
baby
gets
a
little
bigger.
Then
I'll
come
back
full?time.
M:Yeah.
I'm
so
lucky
to
work
for
this
company.
Nowadays
it's
hard
to
find
an
employer
that
makes
it
easy
to
balance
work
and
family
life.
(Text
7)
M:I've
got
a
problem.
I
booked
a
trip
to
Cape
Point
for
tomorrow.
But
today
when
I
did
another
hike
tour,
I
hurt
my
leg,
so
I'd
like
to
cancel
the
booking.
W:That's
the
one
by
bike,
isn't
it?
OK,
so
let
me
just
check
in
the
system.
Have
you
already
paid
any
money?
M:Yes,
I've
paid
$150.
W:Unfortunately,
if
you
cancel
now,
you
will
lose
that
money,
because
the
company
needs
more
than
24
hours
notice.
M:Oh,
I
see,
but...
W:Well,
you
can
use
the
money
for
something
that
doesn't
involve
exercise.
What
about
a
boat
trip
to
Robben
Island?
(Text
8)
M:I
can't
be
here
tomorrow,
so
we
have
to
make
it
another
time
to
talk
about
the
presentation
for
Monday
morning.
W:That
won't
be
a
problem,
but
I
will
need
to
check
with
everyone
to
see
what
time
is
best
for
everyone
to
attend.
Are
you
taking
some
time
off
today?
M:But
I
have
a
business
meeting
with
our
senior
client,
Mr.
McKay.
We're
trying
to
finalize
the
budget
for
the
project
and
they're
located
in
Seattle,
so
it
will
take
me
a
few
hours
to
get
there
and
back.
W:Oh,
I
see.
From
what
I
understand
these
discussions
have
taken
weeks.
Once
the
deal
has
been
finalized,
we
can
begin
one
of
the
largest
construction
projects
our
company
has
ever
done.
I'll
let
you
know
when
we'll
have
the
meeting
via
e?mail.
(Text

M:How's
your
English
class
going,
Professor
Smith?
W:Oh,
not
so
well.
It's
a
conversation
class.
I
try
to
choose
interesting
topics,
but
only
a
couple
of
students
speak.
I
really
like
my
students,
but
I'm
just
not
sure
how
to
get
the
others
to
talk
more.
Maybe
because
it's
a
morning
class,
they
are
all
sleepy.
M:What
countries
are
your
students
from?
W:A
lot
of
different
countries,
actually.
M:I
think
it
may
be
a
cultural
difference.
I
had
the
same
problem
in
my
class
before.
In
many
cultures,
people
aren't
used
to
giving
their
opinions
so
directly.
W:Wow.
I
never
thought
about
that.
What
should
I
do,
then?
We
can't
just
have
a
silent
conversation
class.
M:Why
don't
you
talk
about
different
conversation
styles
in
class?
The
students
can
share
communication
styles
from
their
cultures.
W:That
would
be
really
interesting.
Thanks
for
the
suggestion.

This
is
the
Air
Museum
information
line.
In
the
museum,
you
can
see
140
old
planes.
It's
one
of
the
biggest
air
museums
in
Europe.
The
museum
is
48
miles
from
London
and
is
not
far
away
from
the
village
of
Cherford.
You
can
get
there
by
car,
or
if
you
come
to
the
village
by
train,
take
the
No.51
bus
from
Cherford
Station.
In
summer,
the
museum
is
open
every
day
from
ten
in
the
morning
to
seven
in
the
afternoon.
In
winter,
it
closes
earlier,
at
four
o'clock.
A
ticket
for
adults
is
£6,
and
for
children
and
students
it's
£4.50.
For
families
there's
a
special
ticket
which
costs
£18.
This
year
we
have
something
extra
for
visitors.
You
can
go
up
in
a
small
plane
that
was
built
in
1930
and
see
the
countryside
from
the
air.
You
can
only
do
this
on
Sundays
and
you
should
book
this
trip
seven
days
before
you
come.
第二部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节:(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
I
was
going
to
die
in
Antarctica,
I
was
certain.
A
picture
of
my
frost?covered
body,
pale
and
lifeless,
filled
my
mind
as
I
glanced
around.
In
all
directions
spreads
the
empty
wilderness
of
Antarctica,
the
only
feature
being
the
division
between
snow
and
sky.
I
sadly
stared
at
my
team,
who
were
rapidly
disappearing
from
my
sight.
It
happened
in
the
year
2009
when
I
was
head
of
an
adventure
attempting
to
reach
the
South
Pole.
The
team
was
made
up
of
ordinary
women
from
all
around
the
world—from
Jamaica,
India,
Singapore
and
Cyprus—many
of
whom
had
never
seen
snow,
or
spent
a
night
in
a
tent,
before
we
set
off.
Our
aim
was
to
be
the
most
international
all?female
team
to
reach
the
South
Pole.
By
the
time
I
realized
that
my
sledge
(雪橇)
was
firmly
stuck,
the
team
were
already
a
long
way
ahead
of
me.
I
called
out
to
Era,
my
teammate
from
Brunei,
who
was
next
in
line.
Getting
no
response,
I
called
again,
but
my
shouts
were
carried
away
in
the
opposite
direction
by
the
wind.
I
had
stood
and
watched
the
line
for
a
while
as
it
marched
away
from
me,
confident
that
at
any
moment
one
of
my
teammates
would
look
behind
her.
Seconds
passed.
Nothing.
I
was
gradually
being
left
alone.
I
pushed
my
sledge
again,
my
strength
suddenly
increased
when
I
thought
of
a
cold,
lonely
death.
This
time
the
sledge
moved
a
little.
I
kicked
at
the
ice
with
my
ski?pole
and
boot,
desperately
trying
to
break
the
sledge
free—and
pushed
again.
The
sledge
shot
forward,
knocking
me
off
balance.
I
struggled
to
my
feet
and
set
off
after
the
team.
I
caught
up
just
as
they
realized
I
wasn't
there.
As
we
continued,
my
panic
slowly
faded.
I
found
myself
laughing
to
myself
as
I
noticed
Reena
checking
behind
her
every
few
paces.
In
fact
for
the
whole
of
the
rest
of
the
day
each
member
of
the
team
glanced
over
her
shoulder
every
few
minutes.
They
were
not
going
to
risk
losing
me
again.

of

about
the

on.
B.The
shouts
of
her
teammates.
C.A
sudden
change
in
wind
direction.
D.The
natural
beauty
ahead
in
Antarctica.
24.Why
did
the
team
form
the
habit
of
looking
behind?
A.Because
their
team
leader
demanded
them
to
do
so.
B.Because
they
were
expecting
their
team
leader's
arrival.
C.Because
they
wanted
to
make

B
Mr.
Peter
Johnson,
aged
twenty?three,
battled
for
half
an
hour
to
escape
from
his
trapped
car
yesterday
when
it
landed
upside
down
in
three
feet
of
water.
He
took
the
only
escape
route—through
the
boot.
Mr.
Johnson's
car
had
ended
up
in
a
ditch
(沟渠)
at
Romney
Marsin,
Kent
after
he
lost
proper
control
on
ice
and
hit
a
bank.
“Fortunately,
the
water
began
to
come
in
only
slowly,”
Mr.Johnson
said.
“I
couldn't
force
the
doors
open
because
they
were
jammed
against
the
walls
of
the
ditch
and
dared
not
open
the
windows
because
I
knew
water
would
come
flooding
in.”
Mr.
Johnson,
a
sweet
salesman
of
Sitting
Home,
Kent,
first
tried
to
attract
the
attention
of
other
motorists
by
sounding
the
horn
(笛)
and
hammering
on
the
roof
and
boot.
Then
he
began
his
struggle
to
escape.
Later
he
said,
“It
was
really
a
half
penny
that
saved
my
life.
It
was
the
only
coin
I
had
in
my
pocket
and
I
used
it
to
unscrew
the
back
seat
to
get
into
the
boot.
I
hammered
desperately
with
a
hammer
trying
to
make
someone
hear,
but
no
help
came.”
It
took
ten
minutes
to
unscrew
the
seat,
and
a
further
five
minutes
to
clear
the
sweet
samples
from
the
boot.
Then
Mr.
Johnson
found
a
wrench
(扳手)
and
began
to
work
on
the
boot
lock.
Fifteen
minutes
passed
by.
“It
was
the
only
chance
I
had.
Finally_it_gave,_but
as
soon
as
I
moved
the
boot
lid,
the
water
and
mud
poured
in.
I
forced
the
lid
down
into
the
mud
and
climbed
up
clear
as
the
car
filled
up.”
His
hands
and
arms
cut
and
bruised,
Mr.
Johnson
got
to
Beckett
Farm
nearby.
Huddled
in
a
blanket,
he
said,
“That
thirty
minutes
seemed
like
hours.”
Only
the
tips
of
the
car
wheels
were
visible,
police
said
last
night.
The
vehicle
had
sunk
into
two
feet
of
mud
at
the
bottom
of
the
ditch.
25.Which
of
the
following
objects
is
the
most
important
to
Mr.
Johnson?

hammer.
B.The
coin.
C.The
seat.
D.The
horn.
26.We

the
passage

Johnson's
car
stood
on
its
boot
as
it
fell
down

Johnson's
car
accident
was
partly
due
to
the
slippery
road
C.Mr.
Johnson
struggled
in
the
pouring
mud
as
he
unscrewed
the
back
seat
D.Mr.
Johnson
could
not
escape
from
the
door
because
it
was
full
of

jam

last
the
wrench
went
broken

Talking
plants
might
sound
like
characters
in
a
fairy
tale.
But
recent
scientific
studies
have
shown
that
plants
communicate
with
each
other
and
with
other
living
things
in
a
surprising
number
of
ways.
To
understand
them,
scientists
say,
we
just
have
to
learn
their
language.
Farmers
are
especially
interested
in
what
plants
have
to
say.
“Plants
are
able
to
communicate
with
all
sorts
of
organisms
(有机体).
They
can
communicate
with
giant
bacteria,
with
other
plants
and
with
insects.
They
do
this
chemically,”
said
Cahill,
an
Ecology
Professor
of
the
University
of
Alberta
in
Canada.
Plant
scientists
are
just
beginning
to
understand
this
chemical
“language”.
Cahill
says
studies
have
shown,
for
example,
that
plants
can
evaluate
conditions
in
their
immediate
environment
and
take
appropriate
actions.
Plants
have
an
ability,
for
example,
to
signal
pain
or
discomfort
caused
by
anything
from
temperature
extremes
to
an
insect
attack.
Jack
Schultz,
a
professor
of
chemical
ecology
at
the
University
of
Missouri,
says
when
a
plant
senses
that
it's
being
eaten,
it
cannot
walk
away
from
trouble;
on
the
contrary,
it
will
release
a
chemical
vapor
that
alerts
other
plants
nearby.
“Their
language
is
a
chemical
language,
and
it
involves
chemicals
that
move
through
the
air
that
are
easy
to
be
changeable,
and
most
of
all
are
smells
that
we
are
familiar
with,”
Schultz
explained.
“All
plants
responded
to
the
attack
by
changing
their
chemistry
to
defend
themselves,”
Schultz
recalled.
“But
we
were
quite
surprised
to
find
that
nearby
plants
also
changed
their
chemistry
to
defend
themselves,
even
though
they
were
not
part
of
the
experiment.”
Studies
have
also
shown
that
plants
under
attack
release
pleasant
chemicals.
Those
chemicals
attract
friendly
insects
that
attack
the
pests
eating
the
plant.
In
the
end,
plants'
ability
to
communicate
their
needs—and
our
ability
to
understand
them—could
help
farmers
reduce
the
use
of
poisonous
chemicals,
cut
operating
costs
and
limit
damage
to
the
environment.
29.The

C.use
a
very
special
chemical
language
which
is
familiar
to
us
D.respond
to
the
attack
by

30.When
being
eaten
by
an
insect,
the
plant
will
________.
A.walk
away
from
trouble
B.change
its
chemistry
to

A.They

答案与解析
本文为记叙文,题材为社会生活类。我丈夫竟然和一只松鸡成了好朋友,并把它培养成了我家的宠物。要知道松鸡是很难见到的,它们听到人类接近的声音就会飞走。那我丈夫是如何和这只松鸡成为朋友并最终把它培养成我家的宠物的呢?
41.D 根据情景:它们很难被发现,它们听到人类接近的声音就会飞走。由此可知松鸡和人类接触是一件很不寻常的事,故答案为D项。
42.B 句意:事实上,它们很难被发现,因为当它们听到人类接近的声音时通常就会飞走。此处应该是
because
引导的原因状语从句。
43.A 根据下文第六段第一句话
As
spring
went
and
summer
came
可知这只松鸡是在春天的时候走进我们的生活的。
44.C 句意:汤姆在地里干活的时候注意到她在田边来回走动。表达“注意到”某事要用动词
notice。
45.D 根据上文的描述可知松鸡很怕人类的接近,可是这只松鸡却不害怕汤姆,这是让人感到非常惊讶的事情,所以答案为D项。
46.B 这只松鸡不光是不害怕汤姆,似乎还对汤姆正在干什么感到好奇。be
curious
about
sth.对某事感到好奇,符合语境。
47.C 句意:汤姆看了这只友好的鸟儿好几次,而且,她在汤姆周围玩也感到更舒服了。从汤姆和这只松鸡这段时间的相处可知,这只鸟对汤姆的态度是友好的,所以答案为C项。
48.C 句意:我们很快就喜欢上这只鸟儿了,决定给她取名叫
Mildred。be/become/grow
fond
of
sth./sb.
喜欢某物/某人。
49.D 句意:汤姆假装没有看到她,继续干手里的活,看看她接下来会做什么。根据情景可知汤姆明明是看到她了,可是为了达到某个目的而假装没看到,所以答案为D项。
50.A 句意:很显然,她并不愿意自己被忽视(ignored)。从接下来她的行动可以推断出她不愿意汤姆忽视她,为了引起汤姆的注意她开始啄汤姆的手,所以答案为A项。
51.B 她啄了一下汤姆的手,接着往后退,想看看他会做什么。根据情景可知这只鸟儿是往后退,所以答案为B项。
52.A 这只松鸡反反复复做这样的动作好像是在游戏,所以填
game。
53.B 句意:随着春天的离去,夏季的来临,Mildred
开始出来的次数越来越多了。
54.A 句意:终于
Mildred
觉得自己足够舒适了,于是她跳到了汤姆的腿上……。经过这么长时间的相处和观察,Mildred
终于迈出了重要的一步,所以答案为A项。
55.C 根据情景此处表达
Mildred
在汤姆腿上逗留的时间长到足以让我给他俩拍了一张照片(picture)。
56.A 句意:很快这只友好的松鸡就不仅仅是和我们一家在一起感到很舒服了,她还对走过的或者开车经过的任何人都这样。根据上文,松鸡和他们相处得好,排除B、C项,又因为对经过的人不可能熟悉,排除D。
57.B 根据情景可知,打猎的季节到来了,为了不让猎人们朝这只鸟儿射击,我们放置了一个标牌。
58.C 我们的标牌上当然是请求这些猎人们(hunters)不要射杀我们的宠物松鸡。
59.D 看到我们这么做,住在路那头的我的父亲也(also)告诫人们不要射杀她。
60.A 句意:事实上,猎人们会停下来和她拍照,因为他们从来没见过像她这样的松鸡。

第二部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节:(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
I
was
going
to
die
in
Antarctica,
I
was
certain.
A
picture
of
my
frost?covered
body,
pale
and
lifeless,
filled
my
mind
as
I
glanced
around.
In
all
directions
spreads
the
empty
wilderness
of
Antarctica,
the
only
feature
being
the
division
between
snow
and
sky.
I
sadly
stared
at
my
team,
who
were
rapidly
disappearing
from
my
sight.
It
happened
in
the
year
2009
when
I
was
head
of
an
adventure
attempting
to
reach
the
South
Pole.
The
team
was
made
up
of
ordinary
women
from
all
around
the
world—from
Jamaica,
India,
Singapore
and
Cyprus—many
of
whom
had
never
seen
snow,
or
spent
a
night
in
a
tent,
before
we
set
off.
Our
aim
was
to
be
the
most
international
all?female
team
to
reach
the
South
Pole.
By
the
time
I
realized
that
my
sledge
(雪橇)
was
firmly
stuck,
the
team
were
already
a
long
way
ahead
of
me.
I
called
out
to
Era,
my
teammate
from
Brunei,
who
was
next
in
line.
Getting
no
response,
I
called
again,
but
my
shouts
were
carried
away
in
the
opposite
direction
by
the
wind.
I
had
stood
and
watched
the
line
for
a
while
as
it
marched
away
from
me,
confident
that
at
any
moment
one
of
my
teammates
would
look
behind
her.
Seconds
passed.
Nothing.
I
was
gradually
being
left
alone.
I
pushed
my
sledge
again,
my
strength
suddenly
increased
when
I
thought
of
a
cold,
lonely
death.
This
time
the
sledge
moved
a
little.
I
kicked
at
the
ice
with
my
ski?pole
and
boot,
desperately
trying
to
break
the
sledge
free—and
pushed
again.
The
sledge
shot
forward,
knocking
me
off
balance.
I
struggled
to
my
feet
and
set
off
after
the
team.
I
caught
up
just
as
they
realized
I
wasn't
there.
As
we
continued,
my
panic
slowly
faded.
I
found
myself
laughing
to
myself
as
I
noticed
Reena
checking
behind
her
every
few
paces.
In
fact
for
the
whole
of
the
rest
of
the
day
each
member
of
the
team
glanced
over
her
shoulder
every
few
minutes.
They
were
not
going
to
risk
losing
me
again.

members.

the
team
members.
23.What
made

on.

of
her
teammates.
C.A
sudden
change
in
wind
direction.
D.The
natural
beauty
ahead
in
Antarctica.
24.Why
did
the
team
form
the
habit
of
looking
behind?
A.Because
their
team
leader
demanded
them
to
do
so.
B.Because
they
were
expecting
their
team
leader's
arrival.
C.Because
they
wanted
to
make
sure
their
team
leader
was
following.
D.Because

B
Mr.
Peter
Johnson,
aged
twenty?three,
battled
for
half
an
hour
to
escape
from
his
trapped
car
yesterday
when
it
landed
upside
down
in
three
feet
of
water.
He
took
the
only
escape
route—through
the
boot.
Mr.
Johnson's
car
had
ended
up
in
a
ditch
(沟渠)
at
Romney
Marsin,
Kent
after
he
lost
proper
control
on
ice
and
hit
a
bank.
“Fortunately,
the
water
began
to
come
in
only
slowly,”
Mr.Johnson
said.
“I
couldn't
force
the
doors
open
because
they
were
jammed
against
the
walls
of
the
ditch
and
dared
not
open
the
windows
because
I
knew
water
would
come
flooding
in.”
Mr.
Johnson,
a
sweet
salesman
of
Sitting
Home,
Kent,
first
tried
to
attract
the
attention
of
other
motorists
by
sounding
the
horn
(笛)
and
hammering
on
the
roof
and
boot.
Then
he
began
his
struggle
to
escape.
Later
he
said,
“It
was
really
a
half
penny
that
saved
my
life.
It
was
the
only
coin
I
had
in
my
pocket
and
I
used
it
to
unscrew
the
back
seat
to
get
into
the
boot.
I
hammered
desperately
with
a
hammer
trying
to
make
someone
hear,
but
no
help
came.”
It
took
ten
minutes
to
unscrew
the
seat,
and
a
further
five
minutes
to
clear
the
sweet
samples
from
the
boot.
Then
Mr.
Johnson
found
a
wrench
(扳手)
and
began
to
work
on
the
boot
lock.
Fifteen
minutes
passed
by.
“It
was
the
only
chance
I
had.
Finally_it_gave,_but
as
soon
as
I
moved
the
boot
lid,
the
water
and
mud
poured
in.
I
forced
the
lid
down
into
the
mud
and
climbed
up
clear
as
the
car
filled
up.”
His
hands
and
arms
cut
and
bruised,
Mr.
Johnson
got
to
Beckett
Farm
nearby.
Huddled
in
a
blanket,
he
said,
“That
thirty
minutes
seemed
like
hours.”
Only
the
tips
of
the
car
wheels
were
visible,
police
said
last
night.
The
vehicle
had
sunk
into
two
feet
of
mud
at
the
bottom
of
the
ditch.
25.Which
of
the
following
objects

to
Mr.
Johnson?
A.The
hammer.
B.The
coin.
C.The

horn.

unscrewed
the

seat
D.Mr.

could
not
escape
from
the
door
because
it
was
full
of
sweet
jam

C
Talking
plants
might
sound
like
characters
in
a
fairy
tale.
But
recent
scientific
studies
have
shown
that
plants
communicate
with
each
other
and
with
other
living
things
in
a
surprising
number
of
ways.
To
understand
them,
scientists
say,
we
just
have
to
learn
their
language.
Farmers
are
especially
interested
in
what
plants
have
to
say.
“Plants
are
able
to
communicate
with
all
sorts
of
organisms
(有机体).
They
can
communicate
with
giant
bacteria,
with
other
plants
and
with
insects.
They
do
this
chemically,”
said
Cahill,
an
Ecology
Professor
of
the
University
of
Alberta
in
Canada.
Plant
scientists
are
just
beginning
to
understand
this
chemical
“language”.
Cahill
says
studies
have
shown,
for
example,
that
plants
can
evaluate
conditions
in
their
immediate
environment
and
take
appropriate
actions.
Plants
have
an
ability,
for
example,
to
signal
pain
or
discomfort
caused
by
anything
from
temperature
extremes
to
an
insect
attack.
Jack
Schultz,
a
professor
of
chemical
ecology
at
the
University
of
Missouri,
says
when
a
plant
senses
that
it's
being
eaten,
it
cannot
walk
away
from
trouble;
on
the
contrary,
it
will
release
a
chemical
vapor
that
alerts
other
plants
nearby.
“Their
language
is
a
chemical
language,
and
it
involves
chemicals
that
move
through
the
air
that
are
easy
to
be
changeable,
and
most
of
all
are
smells
that
we
are
familiar
with,”
Schultz
explained.
“All
plants
responded
to
the
attack
by
changing
their
chemistry
to
defend
themselves,”
Schultz
recalled.
“But
we
were
quite
surprised
to
find
that
nearby
plants
also
changed
their
chemistry
to
defend
themselves,
even
though
they
were
not
part
of
the
experiment.”
Studies
have
also
shown
that
plants
under
attack
release
pleasant
chemicals.
Those
chemicals
attract
friendly
insects
that
attack
the
pests
eating
the
plant.
In
the
end,
plants'
ability
to
communicate
their
needs—and
our
ability
to
understand
them—could
help
farmers
reduce
the
use
of
poisonous
chemicals,
cut
operating
costs
and
limit
damage
to
the
environment.
29.The
recent
scientific
studies
have
shown

can
________.
A.communicate

in
a
chemical

B.hardly
react
to
any
sudden
change
in

C.use
a
very
special
chemical
language
which
is
familiar
to
us
D.respond
to
the

poisonous
chemicals
30.When
being

by
an

The
fourth
round
of
heavy
smog
to
hit
Beijing
in
four
weeks
has
sent
more
people
to
the
hospital
with
respiratory
(呼吸的)
illnesses
and
led
to
calls
for
laws
to
control
the
pollution.
Pan
Shiyi,
a
celebrity
real
estate
developer
said
he
is
planning
to
propose
(提案)
a
Clean
Air
Act
to
the
local
government.
As
a
representative
to
the
Beijing
Municipal
People's
Congress,
he
started
an
online
survey
at
9:20
a.m.
Within
three
hours,
more
than
25,000
web
users,
or
99
percent
of
total
respondents
(应答者),
welcomed
his
proposal
on
Sina
Weibo,
China's
Twitter.
They
have
good
reasons
to
stand
alongside
Pan.
The
latest
round
of
haze
(雾霾)
reduced
visibility
to
under
500
meters
in
many
parts
of
the
city.
The
smog
has
also
led
to
a
great
increase
in
respiratory
illnesses,
particularly
among
children
and
the
elderly.
Anxious
parents
and
doctors
almost
all
blame
the
smoggy
air
for
the
illnesses.
Though
most
schoolchildren
are
home
for
the
winter
holidays,
the
bad
air
can
easily
move
indoors.
Besides,
ordinary
medical
masks
fail
to
provide
adequate
protection,
so
some
people
have
turned
to
gas
masks
and
respirators
(呼吸器).
The
causes
of
the
scary
smog
are
rather
mysterious,
though
experts
blame
excessive
emissions
and
the
mountains
around
Beijing
that
trap
pollution
in
winter,
unless
there
is
adequate
wind
to
clear
it
away.
Some
critics
have
pointed
fingers
at
China's
top
two
oil
firms,
China
National
Petroleum
Corp
and
China
Petrochemical
Corporation,
saying
the
companies'
outdated
production
technologies
produce
large
quantities
of
substandard,
high?polluting
gas
fuel.
Meanwhile,
concerned
Beijingers
have
moved
their
brainstorming
sessions
to
cyberspace.
If
Pan's
proposal
for
a
Clean
Air
Act
is
adopted,
netizens
say
the
new
law
should
include
items
providing
for
“car?free
days”
in
times
of
smog,
higher
standards
for
vehicle
fuel,
stricter
restrictions
on
industrial
and
exhaust
gas
emissions,
and
more
effective
protection
for
the
public.
Beijing
is
not
the
only
city
that
has
ever
lost
the
blue
sky.
Five
days
of
thick
fog
caused
thousands
of
deaths
in
Britain
in
December
1952,
urging
the
government
to
pass
the
first
Clean
Air
Act
in
1956,
which
introduced
smokeless
zones
and
cleaner
fuels
to
reduce
pollution.
That
may
provide
some
experience
for
Beijing
to
refer
to.

from
the

C.Smog

第二节:(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。
__36__.
This
is
a
very
frightening
number.
Most
of
the
time,
it
will
not
be
noticed
until
it
becomes
a
large
problem.
Yet,
hopefully,
more
and
more
people
are
learning
about
it.
Parents
as
well
as
friends
should
pay
attention
to
these
things
and
other
things
such
as
sudden
changes
in
their
mood,
appetite
or
weight
can
be
indications
of
depression.
While
these
things
can
also
happen
to
an
adolescent,
when
it
is
followed
by
other
conditions,
it
should
be
taken
note
of.
A
loss
of
interest
in
doing
the
things
that
they
used
to
love
to
do
can
be
depression.
Now,
this
is
not
necessarily
something
from
their
childhood,
but
something
within
the
past
few
month.
__37__.
For
example,
divorce
or
separation
of
their
parents,
death,
or
even
just
friendship.
Often,
teens
blame
themselves
for
these
conditions.
__38__.
If
they
do
not
seem
any
more,
there
more
be
something
troubling
them.
__39__.
There
are
many
sad
stories
of
young
teens
harming
themselves
because
they
are
suffering
from
depression
and
no
one
took
notice.
Finally,
to
our
joy,
those
teens
that
do
get
timely
treatment
for
their
depression
can
actually
recover
quickly
and
completely
and
get
back
into
doing
the
things
they
used
to
love
to
do.
Talk
to
your
doctor
if
you
feel
that
you
have
been
in
any
of
these
conditions
or
you
know
someone
that
is.
__40__.
So
learn
more
about
teen
depression
and
depression
in
general
and
get
help
now
or
help
a
friend
in
need.
A.They
can
decide
what
is
happening,
and
get
life
back
on
track
to
you
B.Because
of
depression
and
lack
of
notice,
many
sad
and
painful
cases
happen
to
young
teens
C.A
lack
of
emotion
is
a
sign
that
something
is
definitely
wrong
D.One
thing
that
must
be
said
about
teen
depression
is
that
this
is
a
serious
condition
E.Sad
situations
can
cause
teen
depression
to
appear
fast
F.Teen
depression
makes
up
one
in
five
children
G.There
are
many
ways
to
deal
with
depression
