教材分析
本节课是选取的外研版中九年级上册的一节课，是一节阅读课。话题是有关感恩节的内容。要求学生通过读、写的训练，学会描述节日。有关感恩节的知识，在人教版八年级下册第8单元中已经学过部分内容，因此对于九年级的学生来说，他们熟悉这个节日。但人教版的教材只涉及了感恩节的时间和来历，以及火鸡的制作方法，而外研版的这篇文章内容比较丰富，涉及了许多学生不知道的感恩节活动，通过学习，学生能更具体的了解感恩节，更深刻的体会美国的文化，了解中美文化的差异。
本节课主要通过读、写的训练，让学生学会描述节日。本单元共设计了6个活动。其中活动1要求学生描述所给图片，活动2-4，要求学生阅读感恩节的短文，并完成表格填空和选词填空两个练习。活动5-6要求学生根据范文写出有关节日的文章。
从学习内容来看，
活动1-2是课文阅读部分，是本节课的重点内容。活动3-6是读后的输出内容。活动3对文本内容的简要概括，活动4是对文中语言知识能力的巩固。活动5-6是读后的提升环节——写作。是本节课的难点。
教学重难点分析

教学建议
本节课的重点在于对课本阅读材料处理及读后写作能力的提升，难点在于读后的写作输出。本课文章学生不陌生，不易引起学生的兴趣，文章篇幅较长，学生易产生阅读疲倦，初中学生的抽象思维能力比较低，形象思维能力强，但注意力容易分散。因此我采用问题引领学生的思维，多设计引发学生深度思考的问题，多拓展学生不知道的文化知识，充分利用多媒体和视频资料，激起学生的求知欲和好胜心，吸引学生去读。以问题为内驱力，注重启发引导，培养学生分析、概括能力，让课堂真正成为学生的课堂，让学生学得愉快。同时在发展学生英语语言运用能力的过程中，帮助他们学习、理解和鉴赏中外优秀文化，培育中国情怀，坚定文化自信，拓展国际视野，增进国际理解，逐步提升跨文化沟通能力、思辨能力、学习能力和创新能力，形成正确的世界观、人生观和价值观，实现英语学科的育人价值，使英语学科素养落地。
教学策略
本课主要是一节阅读课，根据《英语课程标准》及《英语教学大纲》的要求，在本节课的教学过程中，以问题引领，采用“小组合作“以及“任务型”的教学途径，引导学生阅读文本，掌握阅读策略，主线分明，训练能力，重方法和手段，借助多媒体，增强趣味性和直观性，以问题为内驱力，注重启发引导，面向全体同学，培养学生分析、概括能力，让课堂真正成为学生的课堂，让学生学得愉快。
