（一）情态动词might与would
1.I would be nice to my students.我会对我的学生很好。（教材P66）
2. You might be a scientist when you grow up.
你长大后可能会成为一名科学家。（教材P66）
语法概述：情态动词表示说话人的观点或态度，如需要、猜测、意愿或怀疑等。情态动词在句中不能单独作谓语，只能与其后的动词原形一起构成调语。常见的情态动词有：can，could，may，might，must,need,shall,should,will,would等。 本单元我们主要学习情态动词might（may)和 would(will)。
考向①may 与 might
may/might 主要表示说话人许可、请求对方许可或表示可能性。否定形式为may/might not . may/might主要有下列用法：
①might作may的过去式，表示过去可以做的事或可能发生的事。
He said he might go abroad.他说他可能会出国。
②表示请求或允许。might比may语气更委婉。常用"Yes,of course/you can."表示同意或许可，用"No,you can't./You'd better not."表示不可以或禁止。
--May/Might I take this book out of the room? 我可以把这本书带出这个房间吗？
-Yes,you can.,you can't.是的，你可以。/不,你不可以。
③用来表示对现在或将来的推测（不用于疑问句）。might所表示的可能性比may小，表示一种更加微弱的可能性，或比较没有把握的推测。
He may/might be in the library now.他现在可能在图书馆。
Your mother may/might not know the truth.你妈妈可能不知道真相。

考向②will 与 would
①will和would用于第二人称疑问句时，表示请求、建议等，但would语气比will更委婉。would常与like搭配使用。
Will/Would you pass me the ball,please? 请你把球传给我，好吗？
Would you like some water?你想喝点水吗?
②will和would可表示意愿，常用于第一人称。
I won't argue with you.我不愿意跟你争辩。
I said I would do anything for him.我说过我愿意为他做任何事。
③情态动词would是will的过去式，表示在过去看来将来会发生的事。
He said he would help all the sick people. 他说他将会帮助所有的病人。
④would还可表示过去反复发生的动作或某种习惯性行为。
During the last vacation, he would visit me every other day.
在上一个假期，他每隔一天都会来看我。

（二）形容词的比较级和最高级

语法概述:英语中的大多数形容词有三种形式：原级、比较级和最高级。比较级表示”比……更……一些"，最高级表示"最……"。

①一般在词尾直接加-er或-est

考向③形容词比较级的用法
形容词的比较级表示两者之间的比较，常见句型如下：
①"A+be+形容词比较级+than+B."，表示"A比B……"。
Her sister is more beautiful than her.她妹妹比她漂亮。
【特别提醒】有时可在比较级前加一些修饰词如：a bit, a little, much, far,
a lot, still, even等表示程度。
A watermelon is much bigger than an apple.西瓜比苹果大得多。
②"A + be +形容词比较级+than any other +可数名词单数+in...”，表示“在某一范围内，A比其他任何一个……都……"，用比较级形式表达最高级的含义。
Susan is older than any other student in her class.
苏珊比她班里的其他任何一个学生都大。
③"Which.../Who +be+形容词比较级，A or B?"，表示"A和B，哪一……/谁更……?"。
Which book is better, this one or that one? 哪本书更好，这本还是那本？
Who is taller.Bob or Tom?谁更高，鲍勃还是汤姆？
④"A +be+倍数+形容词比较级+than+B."，表示"A是B的……倍……”。
Our school is twice bigger than yours.我们学校是你们学校的两倍大。
⑤"A+be+the+形容词比较级+of the two..."，表示"A是两者中较……的”。
He is the cleverer of the two boys.他是这两个男孩中比较聪明的。
⑥"The+形容词比较级...，the+形容词比较级.."，表示”越……，就越……”。
The higher you stand,the farther you'll see.你站得越高，看得越远。
⑦"比较级+and +比较级"或"more and more +部分双音节或多音节形容词“表示”越来越……”。
The balloon flies higher and higher.气球飞得越来越高。
English becomes more and more important.英语变得越来越重要。

考向④形容词最高级的用法
形容词的最高级用于三者或三者以上的比较，表示”在……之中最……”，常见句型如下：
①"A+be+the+形容词最高级+of/in+比较范围.”，表示"在……中，A最……”。
The Yangtze River is the longest river in China.长江是中国最长的河流。
②"A+be + one of the +形容词最高级+可数名词复数+in/of+比较范围."，表示"在……中，A是最……的……之一"。
Shanghai is one of the most beautiful cities in China.
上海是中国最美丽的城市之一。
