【目标确定的依据】1.相关课程标准的陈述《义务教育英语课程标准》
1.义务教育阶段英语课程的总目标是：通过英语学习使学生形成初步的综合语言运用能力，促进心智发展，提高综合人文素养。
2.初二年级对应的分级目标为：能在所设日常交际情境中听懂对话和小故事。能用简单的语言描述自己或他人的经历。能在学习中相互帮助，克服困难。在听和说两方面，对初二年级学生要求为：能听懂接近自然语速、熟悉话题的简单语段，识别主题，获取主要信息；能听懂简单故事的情节发展，理解其中主要人物和事件；能听懂连续的指令并据此完成任务；能在教师的帮助下或根据图片用简单的语言描述自己或他人的经历；能在教师的指导下参与角色表演等活动。

James亲眼所见的一起交通事故引出的，通过詹姆斯对事故的描述，对话自然地导入了过去进行时这一语法项目。本单元是在Module
7时态学习上的延伸，对于学生掌握过去进行时起着至关重要的作用。该话题贴近学生的生活，为学生所熟知，非常有利于开展听、说、读、写活动。本单元的教学重点是要求学生掌握While引导的含有进行时态的主从复合句。教学难点是能够听懂别人对事故的描述,并能够运用过去进行时描述过去某一事件发生的细节。
3.学情分析：本课是在学生已经学过一个模块的过去进行时态为前提。所以对于时态的结构已经有了一定的认识,学生已经知道用过去进行时可以表示过去某个时刻或时段正在进行或持续的动作。八年级的学生在英语学习上还有一定的积极性，所以设计适合该年龄段的课堂任务让他们自主学习，合作交流，鼓励他们大胆开口,充分调动学生的积极性，帮助学生更好的落实课堂任务。
【学习目标】
1.借助于图片和竞赛形式，熟记重点单词及短语并灵活运用重点句型。
2.通过听力训练，能听懂描述意外事故的对话并能初步感知由when/while引导的过去进行时的句子
。
3.通过听后读学习，知道如何避免交通事故,
认识到安全的重要性。
【评价任务】
评价任务1：小组竞争回顾本单元词汇和短语（回扣学习目标1）

2.
运用小组竞争的方式检测词汇的掌握情况并再次识记新单词。

2.每一节听力完成后清晰的列出含有was/
were+
doing
结构的句型，反复熟读。评价任务3：听后再读（回扣学习目标3）
1.根据设置的两个问题，学生再次通读对话，更深层的挖掘文本信息。
2.读对话填表格并复述本次交通事故的经过。
3.通过听后读学习，知道如何避免交通事故并给出避免交通事故的建议，认识到安全的重要性。
