Ⅰ.阅读理解
Even
if
trees
cannot
walk,
they
are
still
on
the
move.
In
parts
of
the
Arctic,
entire
forests
are
moving
northward.Across
the
Arctic,
temperatures
are
rising
faster
than
anywhere
else
in
the
world.As
that
happens,
the
tree
line
that
marks
where
forests
stop
and
the
treeless
tundra(冻土地带)
starts
has
been
shifting
northward.Trees
growing
along
the
tree
line
must
protect
themselves
from
the
cold
wind.To
do
this,_plants
tend
to
grow
horizontal(水平的)
branches
low
to
the
ground.The
energy
it
takes
for
trees
to
grow
this
way
means
they
don't
have
enough
energy
to
make
seeds.
But
as
Earth's
climate
has
been
warming,
trees
no
longer
have
to
just
grow
horizontally.Many
can
instead
grow
up,
toward
the
sky.This
takes
less
energy.And
with
all
that
leftover
energy,
these
trees
have
started
producing
more
seeds.This
happens
especially
in
places
where
the
white
spruce(白云杉)
grows.
White
spruce,
which
is
a
North
American
tree,
is
quite
able
to
produce
a
lot
of
seeds,
which
can
move
long
distances
in
the
wind.When
wind-blown
seeds
end
up
on
the
tundra
beyond
the
tree
line,
they
eventually
can
sprout(发芽)
new
trees.This
explains
how
a
forest
can
move.Of
course,
the
process
would
work
only
if
the
tundra
were
warm
enough.But
in
recent
years,
the
whole
planet
has
been
warming.
New
trees
will
provide
shelters
for
some
snow,
keeping
the
sun's
rays
from
making
the
white
surface
disappear.Instead,
the
trees
absorb
the
sun's
heat.This
warms
the
surrounding
air.The
extra
warmth
encourages
even
more
trees
to
produce
seeds.That
further
boosts
a
forest's
ability
to
expand.In
addition,
more
trees
will
trap
more
snow,
preventing
much
of
it
from
being
blown
away.Snow
can
trap
heat
in
the
soil
below,
which
encourages
trees
to
grow.The
recent
rise
of
temperature
has
helped
more
trees
grow
past
the
tree
line.People
worry
about
impacts
on
the
animals
that
depend
on
frozen
conditions
for
food
and
shelter.

can
make
the
surrounding
air
warmer.
D.New
trees
can
bring
more

答案:C
解析:推理判断题。根据最后一段第二、三句“Instead,
the
trees
absorb
the
sun's
heat.
This
warms
the
surrounding
air.”可知,树能吸收太阳的热量,使周围的空气变得暖和。由此可知,新生长出来的树能够吸收更多的热量,使周围的空气更温暖。故答案选C。
4.The
passage
is
most
probably
taken

1.breaks
解析:考查动词。根据句意可知,此处指发生火灾。break
out意为“(战争、疾病,灾难等)爆发”;因为是if引导的条件状语从句,主句为一般将来时,从句应用一般现在时。故填breaks。
2.ourselves
解析:考查反身代词。根据句意可知,此处强调谓语动作又回到主语本身,应用反身代词;本句主语是we,故用ourselves。
3.to_dial
解析:考查非谓语动词。remember
to
do意为“记得去做……”,符合语境。故填to
dial。remember
doing意为“记得做过……”,用在此处不合题意。
4.from
解析:考查介词。根据常识可知,失火时,应选择一条远离火的安全逃生路线。far
from是固定短语,意为“远离……”,符合语境。故填from。
5.(to)_breathe
解析:考查非谓语动词。help
sb.
(to)
do意为“帮助某人做……”,是固定用法;breath为名词,此处应用它的动词形式。故填(to)
breathe。
6.affected
解析:考查非谓语动词。分析句子结构可知,affect在句中作后置定语修饰“room”,二者之间是被动关系,故填affected。
7.If
解析:考查条件状语从句。句意:如果有阳台,试着走到那儿并叫喊向路人求助。这是假设情况。故填If。
8.who/that
解析:考查定语从句。本句话是一个定语从句,先行词“people”在从句中作主语,故填who/that。
9.until
解析:考查时间状语从句。根据句意可知,此处指“一直等到消防员到来”。故填until。
10.life
解析:考查名词。本文介绍了在火灾中应如何逃生,由此可知,此处指生命只有一次。故填life。Module

Ⅰ.阅读理解
It
was
once
common
to
regard
Britain
as
a
society
with
class
distinction.
Each
class
had
unique
characteristics.
In
recent
years,
many
writers
have
begun
to
speak
of
the
“decline
of
class”
and
“classless
society”
in
Britain.
And
in
modern
day
consumer
society
everyone
is
considered
to
be
middle
class.
But
pronouncing
the
death
of
class
is
too
early.
A
recent
wide?ranging
study
of
public
opinion
found
90
percent
of
people
still
placing
themselves
in
a
particular
class;
73
percent
agreed
that
class
was
still
a
vital
part
of
British
society;
and
52
percent
thought
there
were
still
sharp
class
differences.
Thus,
class
may
not
be
culturally
and
politically
obvious,
yet
it
remains
an
important
part
of
British
society.
Britain
seems
to
have
a
love
of
stratification.
One
unchanging
aspect
of
a
British
person's
class
position
is
accent.
The
words
a
person
speaks
tell
her
or
his
class.
A
study
of
British
accents
during
the
1970s
found
that
a
voice
sounding
like
a
BBC
newsreader
was
viewed
as
the
most
attractive
voice.
Most
people
said
this
accent
sounded
“educated”
and
“soft”.
The
accents
placed
at
the
bottom
in
this
study,
on
the
other
hand,
were
regional
(地区的)
city
accents.
These
accents
were
seen
as
“common”
and
“ugly”.
However,
a
similar
study
of
British
accents
in
the
US
turned
these
results
upside
down
and
placed
some
regional
accents
as
the
most
attractive
and
BBC
English
as
the
least.
This
suggests
that
British
attitudes
towards
accent
have
deep
roots
and
are
based
on
class
prejudice.
In
recent
years,
however,
young
upper
middle?class
people
in
London,
have
begun
to
adopt
some
regional
accents,
in
order
to
hide
their
class
origins.
This
is
an
indication
of
class
becoming
unnoticed.
However,
the
1995
pop
song
“Common
People”
puts
forward
the
view
that
though
a
middle?class
person
may
“want
to
live
like
common
people”
they
can
never
appreciate
the
reality
of
a
working?class
life.

Dominoni,
who
is
putting
cameras
inside
nesting
boxes
to
track
sleeping
patterns,
said
lack
of
sleep
could
put
the
birds'
health
at
risk.
His
study
shows
that
when
robins
are
exposed
to
light
at
night
in
the
lab,
it
leads
to
some
genes
being
active
at
the
wrong
time
of
day.
And
the
more
birds
are
exposed
to
light,
the
more
active
they
are
at
night.
He
told
people
at
a
conference,“There
have
been
a
couple
of
studies
suggesting
they
are
increasing
their
song
output
at
night
and
during
the
day
they
are
still
singing.
Singing
is
a
costly
behaviour
and
it
takes
energy.
So
by
increasing
their
song
output,
there
might
be
some
costs
of
energy.”
And
it
is
not
just
robins
that
are
being
kept
awake
by
artificial
light.
Blackbirds
and
seagulls
are
also
being
more
nocturnal.
Dr
Dominoni
said,“In
Glasgow
where
I
live,
gulls
are
a
serious
problem.
I
have
people
coming
to
me
saying
‘You
are
the
bird
expert.
Can
you
help
us
kill
these
gulls?’.
During
the
breeding
(繁殖)
season,
between
April
and
June,
they
are
very
active
at
night
and
very
noisy
and
people
can't
sleep.”
Although
Dr
Dominoni
has
only
studied
light
pollution,
other
research
concluded
that
robins
living
in
noisy
cities
have
started
to
sing
at
night
to
make
themselves
heard
over
loud
noise.
However,
some
birds
thrive
(兴旺)
in
noisy
environments.
A
study
from
California
Polytechnic
State
University
found
more
hummingbirds
in
areas
with
heavy
industrial
machinery.
It
is
thought
that
they
are
capitalising
on
their
predators
(天敌)
fleeing
to
quieter
areas.
本文是一篇研究类文章。夜间灯光及嘈杂的城市环境导致知更鸟整夜长鸣,这不仅会消耗它们的能量,而且对它们的健康有害。

M:Hi,
I'm
new
at
this
college
and
I'm
looking
for
somewhere
to
stay.An
apartment
would
be
my
first
choice.
W:We
have
houses
for
rent
and
some
single
rooms.I
will
check
to
see
if
I
can
find
something
more
suitable
for
you.

M:You
need
to
be
careful
when
you
use
social

dear.You
never
know
who
you
are

to.
W:I
know.You've
already
told
me
a
hundred
times.
M:I'm
just
saying
you're
better
safe
than
sorry.

M:I
can
tell
that
you
don't
like
the

this

so
I'm
assuming
you
like
this
one
instead?
W:How
did
you
know
I
didn't
like
that
one?
M:
I
could
tell
by
the

you

me.

I'll

off
to
parents'
evening
at
your
school.
M:No,
thanks.I
do
need
some

but
I'd

to

rather

M:That's
what
scares
me.What
if
I
don't

well?
Everyone

and
everyone
will

you

I'm

not.This

will

you
can
go
to
the
ticket
office
and
exchange
it,
but
you
will
have
to
pay
a
little
extra.Or
you

M:Antique
shops,
obviously,
and
sometimes
I
bid
at
sales.The
chair
was
a
gift
from
an
old
lady.
W:I
think
I
would
be
nervous
about
bidding.I
don't
know
how
much
such
things
are
worth.
M:Well,
they
are
worth
whatever
you
think
they
are
worth
to
you.Antiques
are
often
the
same
price
as
the
new
furniture,
or
even
cheaper
than
it.
W:I
think
I
would
like
to
have
some
old
things.These
days
everyone
has
the
same
furniture
from
the
same
shops.
M:You
should
look
online.You
can
get
an
idea
of
what
things
cost
and
you
can
even
bid
for
something
if
you
like.
W:Do
you
have
any
other
old
things
I
can
see?
M:Yes,
there's
the
lamp
over
there,
and
this
cupboard.
W:I
love
the
lamp
best.
M:It
seems
that
we
always
have
the
same
taste.The
light
from
it
is
so
soft.
W:It
is
beautiful
as
well
as
being
useful.I
imagine
it
must
be
valuable
as
well.
M:I
don't
care
much
about
that.Obviously,
I
like
my
antiques
to
be
useful.But
the
most
important
thing
is
that
they
should
be
beautiful.

do
Mackinac
Island,
MI
and
Ocean
City,
MD
have
in
common?
A.They
are
suitable
for
cycling.
B.They
have
snacks
to
offer.
C.They
have
ancient
tourist

答案:A
解析:细节理解题。根据Mackinac
Island,MI中的“Most
of
its
roughly
4
square
miles
is
parkland,
suitable
for
hiking
and
cycling”和Ocean
City,MD中的“Cycling
in
the

B
Is
geography
important?
Here's
a
question
for
you
to
answer.
What
have
the
following
countries
got
in
common:
Australia,
Japan,
the
United
Kingdom,
Iceland
and
Madagascar?
Quite
easy
if
you
can
picture
them
on
the
globe—they
are
all
islands.All
of
these
nations
are
surrounded
by
sea.
What
have
these
five
nations
got
in
common?
Hungary,
Botswana,
Kazakhstan,
Paraguay
and
Liechtenstein.They
are
all
landlocked.In
other
words,
in
contrast
to
the
first
five
countries
whose
coastline
forms
their
border,
the
second
five
have
no
coastline
at
all.If
you
are
a
Hungarian
or
a
Paraguayan,
you
have
to
pass
through
somebody
else's
country
if
you
want
to
go
to
the
beach.
Liechtenstein
is
even
more
of
a
geographical
phenomenon;it
is
“doubly
landlocked”
because
the
countries
that
surround
it—Austria
and
Switzerland
are
also
landlocked.There
is
only
one
other
country
in
the
world
in
a
similar
position,Uzbekistan,which
is
surrounded
by
five
other
landlocked
countries.Go
and
have
a
look
at
the
map
if
you
want
to
know
which.
So
how
do
countries
become
landlocked?
If
you
are
Swiss
or
Nepalese,you
have
probably
never
thought
things
could
be
any
other
way.Switzerland's
mountains,
like
the
Himalayas,
have
formed
a
natural
boundary
for
thousands
of
years.But
there
are
borders.Where
one
country
ends
and
another
begins
is
not
something
that
is
fixed
for
all
time.
There
are
countries
like
Ethiopia
and
Bolivia
which
did
have
a
bit
of
coast
but
don't
any
more.Does
it
matter?
The
Ethiopians
are
not
happy
that
the
creation
of
Eritrea
means
they
now
have
to
use
another
country's
port,when
before
they
had
a
long
coastline
on
the
Red
Sea.
But
why
does
coastline
matter
so
much?
Throughout
history
people
have
preferred
to
live
near
the
sea,
and
not
just
for
the
fish.Sea
means
trade,which
means
wealth.Think
of
the
great
successful
cities
like
Singapore,New
York
or
Hong
Kong
today.Russia
has
fought
several
wars
over
the
centuries
so
that
its
ships
could
have
access
to
the
Baltic,
the
Black
Sea
and
the
Pacific.
本文是一篇议论文,主要论述了地理位置的重要性。
24.Which
group
of
the
following
countries
are
doubly
landlocked
ones?
A.Liechtenstein
and
Uzbekistan.
B.Iceland
and
Madagascar.
C.Australia
and
the
United
Kingdom.
D.Austria
and
Switzerland.
答案:A
解析:细节理解题。根据第五段第一句“Liechtenstein
is
even
more
of
a
geographical
phenomenon;
it
is‘doubly
landlocked’
because
the
countries
that
surround
it—Austria
and
Switzerland
are
also
landlocked.”及第二句中的“There
is
only
one
other
country
in
the
world
in
a
similar
position,
Uzbekistan”可知,列支敦士登和乌兹别克斯坦都是双重内陆国。故答案选A。
25.What
have
countries
like
Hungary,
Botswana,
Kazakhstan,
Paraguay
and
Liechtenstein
got
in
common?
A.They
have
no
boarders.
B.They
have
no
coastline
at
all.
C.They
are
all
surrounded
by
sea.
D.They
had
long
coastlines
before.
答案:B
解析:细节理解题。根据第四段第四句“In
other
words,
in
contrast
to
the
first
five
countries
whose
coastline
forms
their
border,
the
second
five
have
no
coastline
at
all.”可知,这五个国家都没有海岸线。故答案选B。
26.Why
does
coastline
matter
so
much?
A.Because
sea
means
wealth.
B.Because
people
can
eat
fish.
C.Because
boarders
are
fixed
all
time.
D.Because
people
prefer
to
live
near
the
sea.
答案:A
解析:细节理解题。根据第八段第三句“Sea
means
trade,
which
means
wealth.”可知,海岸线的重要性在于大海意味着财富。故答案选A。
27.What's
the
missing
sentence
at
the
end
of
the
text?
A.Coastline
is
the
main
cause
of
wars.
B.Then
what's
the
disadvantage
of
coastline?
C.Geography,
it
seems,
can
make
a
big
difference.
D.Perhaps
other
means
of
transport
can
be
improved.
答案:C
解析:推理判断题。第八段主要介绍了海岸线的重要性。由此可推知,文章末尾缺少的句子应总结上述观点:地理似乎很重要。故答案选C。
C
If
you
are

would

advantage
of
Apple

in
practice
it's

since
it

Visiting
an

is
a
good

to
see,

a

of
apples.To
people
who
are
used
to
the
limited
choice
of
apples
such
as
Golden

and
Royal

in
supermarkets,
it
can
be
quite
an
eye
opener
to
see
the
range
of
classical
apples
still
in

such
as
Decio
which
was
grown
by
the

it

it's
still
worth
a

as
is
the

which
is
more
of
a

than
anything

There
are
also
varieties

of
the

is
Orleans

本文是一篇说明文,对英国苹果节的举办规模、活动安排、苹果种类及苹果种植环境等进行了介绍。
28.What
can
people
do
at
the
apple
events?
A.Attend
experts'
lectures.
B.Visit
fruit?loving
families.
C.Plant
fruit
trees
in
an
orchard.
D.Taste
many
kinds
of
apples.
答案:D
解析:细节理解题。从第二段首句“Visiting
an
apple
event...often
taste,a
wide
variety
of
apples”可直接获取答案。
29.What
can
we
learn
about
Decio?
A.It
is
a
new
variety.
B.It
has
a
strange
look.
C.It
is
rarely
seen
now.
D.It
has
a
special
taste.
答案:C
解析:推理判断题。A选项“Decio是一个新品种”与第二段中的“it
can
be...still
in
existence”不一致,且由第二段中的这句话可知Decio现在比较罕见;文中并未提及Decio的外形奇异,故B选项错误;D选项“It
has
a
special
taste”与第二段中的“Although
it
doesn't
taste
of
anything
special”表述相反。故C项正确。
30.What
does
the
underlined
phrase
“a
pipe
dream”
in
Paragraph
3
mean?
A.A
practical
idea.
B.A
vain
hope.
C.A
brilliant
plan.
D.A
selfish
desire.
答案:B
解析:词义猜测题。根据第三段可知,Orleans
Reinette品种虽然口感好,但对种植环境和土壤要求高,因此对于大多数喜欢它的人来说,大饱口福是一种脱离实际的愿望,这与B项“A
vain
hope”(徒劳的希望)一致。
31.What

in
writing
the
text?
A.To
show
how

Minutes
after
the
last
movie
ended
yesterday
at
the
Plaza
Theater,
employees
were
busy
sweeping
up
popcorn
and
gathering
coke
cups.
It
was
a
scene
that
had
been
repeated
many
times
in
the
theater's
75?year
history.
This
time,
however,
the
cleanup
was
a
little
different.
As
one
group
of
workers
carried
out
the
rubbish,
another
group
began
removing
seats
and
other
theater
equipment
in
preparation
for
the
building's
end.
The
classic
film
The
Last
Picture
Show
was
the
last
movie
shown
in
the
old
theater.
Though
the
movie
is
30
years
old,
most
of
the
250
seats
were
filled
with
teary?eyed
audience
wanting
to
say
good?bye
to
the
old
building.
Theater
owner
Ed
Bradford
said
he
chose
the
movie
because
it
seemed
appropriate.
The
movie
is
set
in
a
small
town
where
the
only
movie
theater
is
preparing
to
close
down.
Bradford
said
that
large
modern
theaters
in
the
city
made
it
impossible
for
the
Plaza
to
compete.
He
added
that
the
theater's
location(位置)
was
also
a
reason.
“This
used
to
be
the
center
of
town,”
he
said.
“Now
the
area
is
mostly
office
buildings
and
warehouses.”
Last
week
some
city
officials
suggested
the
city
might
be
interested
in
turning
the
old
theater
into
a
museum
and
public
meeting
place.
However,
these
plans
were
abandoned
because
of
financial
problems.
Bradford
sold
the
building
and
land
to
a
local
development
firm,
which
plans
to
build
a
shopping
complex
on
the
land
where
the
theater
is
located.
The
theater
audience
said
good?bye
as
Bradford
locked
the
doors
for
the
last
time.
After
75
years
the
Plaza
Theater
had
shown
its
last
movie.
The
theater
will
be
missed.
拥有75年历史的广场剧院在放映完最后一部电影后即将关闭,观众向剧院告别。
32.In
what
way
was
yesterday's
cleanup
at
the
Plaza
special?
A.It
made
room
for
new
equipment.
B.It
signaled
the
closedown
of
the
theater.
C.It
was
done
with
the
help
of
the
audience.
D.It
marked
the
75th
anniversary
of
the
theater.
答案:B
解析:推理判断题。根据第一段的最后一句“As
one
group
of
workers
carried
out
the
rubbish,
another
group
began
removing
seats
and
other
theater
equipment
in
preparation
for
the
building's
end”可推断出,工人们清理垃圾和移除座位及其他剧院设备是在为剧院的关闭做准备。故选B。
33.Why
was
The
Last
Picture
Show
put
on?
A.It
was
an
all?time
classic.
B.It
was
about
the
history
of
the
town.
C.The
audience
requested
it.
D.The
theater
owner
found
it
suitable.
答案:D
解析:细节理解题。根据第二段中的“Theater
owner
Ed
Bradford
said
he
chose
the
movie
because
it
seemed
appropriate”可知,剧院的老板亲自选定了The
Last
Picture
Show这部电影,因为他认为这部电影很适合。原文中的“appropriate”和D选项中的“suitable”都表示“合适的”。故选D。
34.What
will
probably
happen
to
the
building?
A.It
will
be
repaired.
B.It
will
be
turned
into
a
museum.
C.It
will
be
knocked
down.
D.It
will
be
sold
to
the
city
government.
答案:C
解析:推理判断题。第四段最后一句说剧院被卖给了当地的开发公司,该公司计划在剧院所在地建一座综合购物大楼,因此可推断出剧院将被推倒拆除。故选C。
35.What
can
we
infer
about
the
audience?
A.They
are
disappointed
with
Bradford.
B.They
are
sad
to
part
with
the
old
theater.
C.They
are
supportive
of
the
city
officials.
D.They
are
eager
to
have
a
shopping
center.
答案:B
解析:推理判断题。根据第二段第二句“Though
the
movie
is
30
years
old,
most
of
the
250
seats
were
filled
with
teary?eyed
audience
wanting
to
say
good?bye
to
the
old
building”可知,观众含泪观看最后一部电影,想向剧院告别;再结合最后一段最后一句“The
theater
will
be
missed”可以推断出观众对剧院恋恋不舍,与剧院告别让他们感到很悲伤。故选B。
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。
The
ability
to
stay
positive
is
one
of
the
most
important
skills
for
us.Why
is
this?
The
reason
is
that
we
will
spend
most
of
our
lives
setting
and
trying
to
achieve
goals.
Everyone
has
dreams.
Everyone
wants
to
know
deep
down
inside
that
they
were
put
here
to
do
something
great.__36__The
second
you
set
a
goal,
difficulties
will
begin
to
appear
to
stand
in
your
way.Most
people
let
these
challenges
rob
them
of
the
life
they
really
want.
If
you
want
to
achieve
greatness,
if
you
want
to
experience
the
best
life
possible,
then
be
prepared
to
get
knocked
down
over
and
over.__37__This
explains
why
there
are
so
many
people
who
have
stopped
trying
to
reach
their
dreams.
So
how
do
you
remain
positive
regardless
of
what
type
of
challenge
you
are
facing?
It
all
comes
down
to
how
you
choose
to
respond
to
any
situation
as
well
as
what
you
decide
to
focus
on.No
matter
how
bad
your
situation
is,
you
can
always
find
something
good
in
it.__38__
If
you
keep
focusing
on
how
bad
you
have
it,
how
are
things
supposed
to
get
any
better?__39__Of
course
it
is.If
this
is
true,why
even
bother
thinking
positively?
That
is
because
if
you
do,
you
have
a
chance
to
make
things
better.
If
you
don't,
things
will
usually
get
a
lot
worse.
Realize
that
challenges
are
a
part
of
life.__40__It's
what
makes
reaching
a
goal
worth
it.If
you
were
able
to
get
everything
you
wanted
without
even
trying,
the
victory
wouldn't
taste
as
sweet.
A.Everyone
will
have
to
go
through
them.
B.Staying
positive
can
be
beneficial
in
many
ways.
C.Staying
positive
during
situations
like
this
is
not
easy.
D.You
can
do
things
like
reading
positive
books
or
listening
to
positive
songs.
E.Is
it
possible
to
be
positive
and
still
have
your
circumstances
get
even
worse?
F.However,
the
problem
is
that
life
is
tough.
G.So
what
you
can
do
is
start
focusing
on
what
is
good.
本文强调了在生活中保持积极态度的重要性,并提出了保持积极态度的建议。
36.F 解析:根据横线后的“The
second
you
set
a
goal,difficulties
will
begin
to
appear
to
stand
in
your
way”可知,设定完目标之后,困难就随之而来了。这句话是对F项内容的解释。故选F。
37.C 解析:根据横线后的“This
explains
why
there
are
so
many
people
who
have
stopped
trying
to
reach
their
dreams”可知,此处在讲当人们遇到困难的时候很难保持乐观。故选C。
38.G 解析:根据横线前的“No
matter
how
bad
your
situation
is,you
can
always
find
something
good
in
it”,无论情况多么糟糕,你都能找到其中好的方面,G选项与之呼应。故选G。
39.E 解析:根据横线前的“If
you
keep
focusing
on
how
bad
you
have
it,how
are
things
supposed
to
get
any
better”可知,如果你一直关注不好的方面,情况又怎么会变好呢?作者建议我们要多关注积极的因素。再根据横线后的“If
this
is
true,why
even
bother
thinking
positively”,如果这是真的,为什么我们要如此麻烦,保持积极可知,E项与上下文语境一致。
40.A 解析:横线前的“Realize
that
challenges
are
a
part
of
life”,可知,挑战是生活的一部分,没有人可以避开它。A项与上下文语境一致。
第三部分:语言运用(共两节,满分30分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。
Next
week,
strangers
with
a

will
take
away
everything
we
own,
except
the
clothes
on
our
backs,
the
car
we
will
drive,
and
as
much
stuff
as
we
can
pack
into
it.
It's
called
__41__.
Some
people
do
it
often.
For
others,
like
me,
it's
a
rare
experience.
In
all
my
adult
years,
I've
moved
only
three
times.
My
first
__42__
and
I
moved
into
our
first
house
with
a
bed,
our
clothes
and
a
few
gifts.
That
was
many
years
ago.
Over
the
years,
I
filled
that
house
with
three
children,
a
few
dogs
and
enough
stuff
to
__43__
the
ceiling.
Then
the
kids
grew
up,
I
lost
my
husband
to
cancer,
and
I
began
to
learn
about
__44__.
First,
I
let
go
of
the
idea
of
being
in
control.
Life
isn't
about
being
in
charge
of
what
__45__;
it's
about
being
in
charge
of
what
we
do
with
it.
Next,
I
let
go
of
__46__
the
things
I
care
most
about,
like
keeping
in
touch
with
the
people
that
__47__
the
most
to
me.
I
let
go
of
the
people
whose
__48__
are
about
anger
or
hatred,
and
tried
instead
to
surround
myself
with
those
who
shine
with
__49__.
Finally,
I
let
go
of
being
alone—I
remarried.
I
__50__
moved
to
a
new
city
with
my
new
husband,
and
after
that
move,
I
__51__
I'd
stop
collecting
meaningless
things.
But
12
years
later,
here
I
am,
still
learning
about
letting
go.
We'll
all
move
someday

Ⅱ.阅读理解
“You
can
use
me
as
a
last
resort
(选择),and
if
nobody
else
volunteers,then
I
will
do
it.”
This
was
an
actual
reply
from
a
parent
after
I
put
out
a
request
for
volunteers
for
my
kids'
lacrosse
(长曲棍球)
club.
I
guess
that
there's
probably
some
demanding
work
schedule,or
social
anxiety
around
stepping
up
to
help
for
an
unknown
sport.She
may
just
need
a
little
persuading.So
I
try
again
and
tug_at_the_heartstrings.I
mention
the
single
parent
with
four
kids
running
the
show
and
I
talk
about
the
dad
coaching
a
team
that
his
kids
aren't
even
on...At
this
point
the
unwilling
parent
speaks
up,“Alright.Yes,I'll
do
it.”
I'm
secretly
relieved
because
I
know
there's
real
power
in
sharing
volunteer
responsibilities
among
many.The
unwilling
parent
organizes
the
meal
schedule,sends
out
emails,and
collects
money
for
end?of?season
gifts.Somewhere
along
the
way,the
same
parent
ends
up
becoming
an
invaluable
member
of
the
team.The
coach
is
able
to
focus
on
the
kids
while
the
other
parents
are
relieved
to
be
off
the
hook
for
another
season.Handing
out
sliced
oranges
to
bloodthirsty
kids
can
be
as
exciting
as
watching
your
own
kid
score
a
goal.
Still,most
of
us
volunteers
breathe
a
sigh
of
relief
when
the
season
comes
to
a
close.That
relief
is
coupled
with
a
deep
understanding
of
why
the
same
people

community
(社区)
as
you
freely
give
your

good.
In
that
sense,I'm
pretty
sure
volunteering

more
of
a
selfish

than
I'd

I

本文是一篇记叙文。文章介绍了作者自己参与并鼓励他人参与志愿工作的经历,讲述了志愿工作的独特意义。
1.What
can
we
infer
about
the
parent
from
her
reply
in
Paragraph
1?
A.She
knows
little
about
the
club.
B.She
isn't
good
at
sports.
C.She
just
doesn't
want
to
volunteer.
D.She's
unable
to
meet
her
schedule.
答案:C
解析:推理判断题。根据第一段中的“You
can
use
me
as
a
last
resort(选择),and
if
nobody
else
volunteers,then
I
will
do
it.”可知,这位家长要求把她当作最后的选择,如果没人愿意做,她再做。由此推知她不愿意参与志愿者活动。另外,第三段第二句中的The
unwilling
parent也印证了答案。
2.What
does
the
underlined
phrase
“tug

the
heartstrings”
in
Paragraph
2
mean?
A.Encourage
teamwork.
B.Appeal
to
feelings.
C.Promote
good
deeds.
D.Provide
advice.
答案:B
解析:词义猜测题。根据画线短语前一句“She
may
just
need
a
little
persuading.”可知,这位家长可能需要一点点劝说。随后作者对这位家长进行了举例劝说:一位有四个孩子的单亲母亲在主持这次活动,一位孩子不在此队的父亲担任长曲棍球队的教练。这些例子都是为了吸引这位家长来做志愿工作,故答案为B。
3.What
can
we
learn
about

from
Paragraph

A.She
gets
interested
in

B.She

宽恕是一种美德,但宽恕别人并不容易,作者从不同方面给读者一些相关建议。
1.B 解析:由下一句“Try
the

steps”可知,此处是填B项“你怎样做到开始宽恕?”
2.F 解析:下文说的是怎样去除生气的一些方法,故此处填F项“为了使你去掉愤怒,你尝试一下一些减压技巧”。
3.G 解析:此处意为“如果你等别人来道歉,那么你会等很长很长时间”。与段落标题呼应。
4.D 解析:下文说的是“如果你理解了冒犯你的人,会……”,故此处填D项“从你的冒犯者的角度看问题”。
5.E 解析:上文说“别忘了宽恕自己”。故此处填E项“对有些人来说,宽恕自己是最大的挑战”。

1.grandparents'/grandparents
解析:考查名词或名词所有格。作者手臂受伤,父母工作太忙没时间照顾他,因此把作者送到祖父母家。英语中,表示“某人的家,某商店,某诊所”等,常常用名词或该名词的所有格表示。
2.was_teaching/taught
解析:考查动词的时态。作者的奶奶那时在离家几英里路远的学校当老师。at
that
time意为“那时”,因此这里可以用一般过去时,陈述过去的一件事实或过去进行时,表示过去某一段时间一直在做某事。
3.dressed
解析:考查固定短语。get
dressed是get+adj.的用法,dressed是过去分词充当形容词,表示“穿好衣服的”。
4.in(to)
解析:考查固定短语。pack...(up)
in(to)意为“把……打包到……”。这里是说:在我们穿衣打扮的时候,爷爷准备了吃的,并且打包在一个褐色购物纸袋里。
5.when
解析:考查定语从句。句意:我将永远记得第一天,那时奶奶把一大包给我们俩吃的午餐放在桌子上。先行词为“the
first
day”,连接词在从句中作时间状语。故用关系副词when。
6.saying
解析:考查非谓语动词。作者听到奶奶叫过来一个男孩,说要他帮忙把这一大包食物吃完。动词say作伴随状语,与“my
grandma”构成逻辑上的主谓关系,故用say的现在分词形式。
7.quickly
解析:考查副词。修饰动词answer应该用副词。
8.because
解析:考查状语从句。作者得知,因为家里很穷,那个男孩总是不带午餐到学校。前后句之间是逻辑上的因果关系。
9.to_feed
解析:考查非谓语动词。奶奶经常带很多的食物,“我们”总是吃不完。奶奶这样做,目的是把吃不完的食物给那男孩吃。空格前后含有逻辑上的目的关系。故用动词不定式结构。
10.the
解析:考查冠词。十五年以后,奶奶虽然去世了,但是她的善举鼓励“我”继续帮助穷人。英语中“the+形容词”,表示一类人。

支持的理由
1.手写信有助于表达情感;2.手写信有助于规范学生书写;
反对的理由

你的观点
