五、Teaching steps
Step1 Warming up and revision
1. T: Good morning, boys and girls
S: Good morning, Miss Jiang
T: Are you happy today
S: Yes!
T: Good! So, let’s sing a wonderful song together, ok
(Sing the song with video: What would you like )
2. Revision: (draw a clock on the blackboard and the time point at 7:00)
T: Boys and girls, look at the clock please. What is the time now
S: It’s 7:00.
T: Yes! It’ time for breakfast! What would you like for breakfast
S: I’d like some bread …
(Show the food pictures learned in last lesson with PPT and review the last lesson. Besides, in this step divide the class into two groups to have a match and the group which got more stars is the winner and can get many delicious candies)
Step2 Presentation and drill
1. Learn the new words.
1)T: Boys and girls, I know that you like eating food so much .So, today Miss Jiang have brought much more food here. Do you want to have a look
S: Yes!
(PPT with beautiful pictures of food and lead students to learn the new words: rice, chicken, beef, fish)
T: What’s this
S: Rice.
T: Good! Rice! Read after me please. (Write it down on the blackboard)
S: Rice.
T: Rice, rice, rice.
S: Rice, rice, rice.
T: Boys and girls, show your fingers please. Let’s spell it together. R-i-c-e rice!
S: R-i-c-e, rice!
T: Lucy, Tom, you two“Rice”

(Learn the new words in the similar way and use different classroom interaction practice the new words repeatedly, such as lockstep, individual work, pair work, group work, louder voice and lower voice etc.)
2) Let’s play a game: Frogs jump (PPT)
(Teacher takes out the beautiful pictures of food and shows one of them .Students jump as quickly as possible to say it out in English. The first student said it out can have the chance to affix the picture to the new word on the blackboard.)
2. Learn the new sentences.
1) T: (change the clock’s time as 12:00 on the blackboard.) Boys and girls, time flies! Look at the clock please! Can you tell me: What is the time now
S: It’s12:00.
T: Wonderful! It’s12:00. It’s time for dinner! “Dinner” Read after me please.
S: Dinner.
T: Dinner, dinner, dinner.
S: Dinner, dinner, dinner.
T: So, are you hungry I’m very hungry now. I would like some beef to eat. (Make the posture of eating)
Tom, what would you like for dinner (Write down this sentence on the blackboard)
Tom: I’d like some chicken.
T: Clever! Lily, what would you like for dinner

(Practice this sentence structure repeatedly with different ways and let as many students as possible take part in this learning procedure)
2) Game: Let’s pass the ball.
(Students pass the ball at random and the ball should be stopped at once when the teacher says: stop! Then the student who has caught the ball should practice the sentence structure with his or her partner.)
Step3 Practice and consolidation
1) T: Ok! Boys and girls, you all did a good job! Now, I want to know some of your dinner. What would you like for dinner First, I’ll give you two minutes free time to discuss it. Clear
S: Yes!
T: Ok! Very good! I know you are clever boys and girls! Now let’ begin!
(Teacher draws a research form on the blackboard and put on the press card)
T: Ok! Time is up! (Use the slogan “One, two, three. Three, two, one” to keep quite)
Now, I’m a reporter. Look! I also have a press card! And, I will ask you something about your dinner. Are you ready
S: Ok!
T: Good! So, Jack, what would you like for dinner
Jack: I’d like some rice and some beef.
T: Perfect! Jack would like some rice and beef for dinner. ( write down Jack’s name in the form and tick“√”in the related blank)
2) T: Do you want to be a reporter (Exchange the role and let student finish the rest blank as a reporter)
Ok! Lily, come here, please. Now you are a reporter. This is your press card .Put on it please. (Teacher help Lily put on the press card)
Wow, you look so nice! So, you can ask me or your dear classmate some questions.

3) Awarding: Which group is the winner Congratulations!
Step4 Homework
1. Write down the new words five times.
2. Make a research form and finish the form by investigating your family or classmates.
